1.Association between moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity and sedentary behavior among primary and secondary school students and their parents

Objective:
To explore the associations of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity (MVPA) and sedentary behavior (SB) among primary and secondary school students and their parents, so as to provide a scientific basis for formulating targeted physical activity promotion strategies for children and adolescents.
Methods:
From 2021 to 2022, basic information and 24 h movement behaviors of 2 484 pairs of students and their parents were collected from five primary and secondary schools in Haizhu District, Guangzhou City, with a convenient sampling combining with cluster sampling method. Component regression models were constructed to analyze the relationship between parental MVPA, SB and primary and secondary school students MVPA and SB, and a component isochronous substitution model was used to explore the effects of mutual substitution between parental MVPA, residual components (time use components other than SB during the 24 h period), and SB on the behavioral activities of MVPA and SB in primary and secondary school students.
Results:
Parental MVPA and SB of students in grade 1 to 3 were positively correlated with both students MVPA and SB ( β=0.06, 0.12, P <0.01). The component isochronous substitution model showed that substituting 10 and 20 minutes of MVPA for SB by parents in grade 1 to 3 was associated with an increase in MVPA of students, and substituting 10 and 20 minutes of residual ingredients for SB was associated with a decrease in SB of students, with mean changes of 0.8 (95% CI =0.4-1.2) and 1.4 (95% CI =0.7-2.2) and -1.4 (95% CI =-1.7 to -1.1) and -2.9 (95% CI =-3.4 to -2.3)( P <0.05). No statistically significant associations were observed between parents of students in grades 4 to 6 and 7 to 9 and students physical activity and sedentary behaviour ( P >0.05).
Conclusions
Parents of students in grades 1 to 3 increases MVPA and decrease SB are beneficial to increase MVPA and decrease SB of students. Parents could promote physical activity among primary and secondary school students, and the intervention gateway should be advanced, with the low grades as the optimal intervention period.
2.Efficacy of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in treating post-chronic aplastic anemia induced myelodysplastic syndrome

Objective To compare the efficacies of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(allo-HSCT)in the treatment of post-chronic aplastic anemia(CAA)myelodysplastic syndrome(MDS)and primary MDS.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 32 patients who received allo-HSCT treatment in Department of Hematology,North China University of Science and Technology Affiliated Hospital between Feb.2012 and Feb.2022,including 12 patients with post-CAA MDS and 20 patients with primary MDS.The overall survival rate,cumulative incidence of relapse(CIR)rate,non-relapse mortality(NRM)rate,and event-free survival rate were compared between the 2 groups.Results The median follow-up time for CAA to progress to MDS was 120(72-180)months.All the patients were followed up for 36(3-79)months after allo-HSCT.The 3-year overall survival rate of the post-CAA MDS group was significantly higher than that of the primary MDS group(83.8%vs 45.0%,P=0.035).The 3-year CIR of the post-CAA MDS group was significantly lower than that of the primary MDS group(16.7%vs 55.0%,P=0.021).There was no significant difference in the event-free survival rates or NRM rates between the 2 groups(both P>0.05).Conclusion The post-CAA MDS patients have better survival after allo-HSCT than the primary MDS patients.Early allo-HSCT treatment may improve the prognosis.
3.TSZAF monomer combination downregulates the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway and inhibits neutrophil recruitment to prevent lung cancer metastasis.

Metastasis remains the primary cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) represent critical targets for metastasis prevention and treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine may prevent lung cancer metastasis through long-term intervention in CTC activity. Tiao-Shen-Zhi-Ai Formular (TSZAF) represents a Chinese medicine compound prescription utilized clinically for lung cancer treatment. This study combined three principal active ingredients from TSZAF into a novel TSZAF monomer combination (TSZAF mc) to investigate its anti-metastatic effects and mechanisms. TSZAF mc demonstrated significant inhibition of proliferation, migration, and invasion in CTC-TJH-01 and LLC cells, while inducing cellular apoptosis in vitro. Moreover, TSZAF mc substantially inhibited LLC cell growth and metastasis in vivo. Mechanistically, TAZSF mc significantly suppressed the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway and CXCL5 expression in lung cancer cells and tissues. Additionally, TAZSF mc notably reduced neutrophil infiltration in metastatic lesions. These findings indicate that TSZAF mc inhibits lung cancer growth and metastasis by suppressing the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway and reducing CXCL5 secretion, thereby decreasing neutrophil recruitment and infiltration. TSZAF mc demonstrates potential as an effective therapeutic agent for lung cancer metastasis.

4.Preventive Protection Strategies for Organ Injury Related to Cancer Therapy: Research Advances and Challenges

Organ damage from cancer treatment remarkably effects patients’ prognosis and quality of life. In recent years, preventive organ protection strategies, such as interdisciplinary collaboration, early prevention, precision interventions, psychological support, and the integrated application of traditional Chinese medicine, have demonstrated substantial clinical value and achieved notable progress. However, these approaches still encounter multiple challenges. Establishing multidisciplinary teams, optimizing therapeutic balance, and strengthening evidence-based research are essential for addressing the challenges related to treatment balance optimization, multidisciplinary coordination, and clinical translation of novel technologies. This review systematically summarizes recent advancements in preventive organ protection, analyzes existing challenges and potential solutions, and offers forward-looking recommendations. It aims to provide valuable insights for optimizing comprehensive cancer treatment strategies and improving long-term patient outcomes.
5.Nanomedicine-induced pyroptosis for anti-tumor immunotherapy: Mechanism analysis and application prospects.

Pyroptosis is a new type of programmed cell death that can efficiently enhance the immune response by inducing cell lysis and inflammation, thereby facilitating tumor immunotherapy. Recently, an increasing number of studies have revealed close relationships between pyroptosis and nanomedicine, which has been regarded as a new strategy for developing nanomedicine-based immunotherapy for highly effective therapy of various cancers. In this review, the development and associated signaling pathways for pyroptosis, including the correlation between pyroptosis and anti-tumor immunity, were first presented. Then, various nanomedicines that induce pyroptosis for tumor therapy, especially immunotherapy, were systematically discussed. Finally, the current challenges and constructive perspectives in this field were proposed.
6.Practice of information technology construction in a hospital based on the reform of ambulatory patient groups payment reform

With the continuous deepening of medical insurance payment reform, the implementation of the ambulatory patient groups(APG) based point system for payment has posed new challenges to the quality management of outpatient electronic medical record writing, as well as the supervision and operation management of outpatient costs in hospitals. A certain hospital began information technology construction in July 2021. By introducing diagnostic grouping functions into the outpatient electronic medical record system, the hospital strengthened the standardization of medical record writing. It also established an intelligent audit system for medical insurance costs to conduct full-process supervision of outpatient medical expenses and developed an intelligent operation analysis system for outpatient APG to provide a basis for hospital operation management decisions and performance distribution. These measures effectively improved the quality of outpatient medical record, reduced outpatient medical costs, and optimized their structure. The application of the intelligent medical insurance audit system also effectively prevented certain non-compliant issues in medical insurance payments, which can provide a reference for other medical institutions.
7.Recent advance in quantitative susceptibility mapping in brain iron deposition associated with cognitive disorders

Iron is involved in several activities in the brain, including energy metabolism, neurotransmitter transmission, and myelination. Disorder of peripheral iron metabolism and excessive iron accumulation in the brain can reduce cognitive and behavioral ability through pathological mechanisms such as inflammatory response and abnormal protein expression, leading to cognitive disorders. Quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM), as a new non-invasive magnetic resonance technique, can quantitatively measure brain iron deposition, clarify the relationship between cognitive disorders and iron homeostasis imbalance, and provide a basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment of the diseases. This article reviews the latest research progress of QSM in brain iron deposition associated with cognitive disorders.
8.Causal relationship of liposomes and circulating metabolomes to schizophrenia: a two-step, two-sample Mendelian randomization study

BackgroundSchizophrenia is a complex, chronic and severe mental disorder, and the pathogenesis of which has not been fully elucidated. The abnormalities in lipid metabolism and circulating metabolomes have already been implicated in the pathophysiology of schizophrenia. However, available studies have mainly focused on a few liposomes and circulating metabolites, failing to systematically reveal the mediating role of circulating metabolomes in the causal relationship between liposomes and schizophrenia. ObjectiveTo uncover mediating role of circulating metabolomes in the causal relationship between liposomes and schizophrenia, thereby providing biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets for the prevention and treatment of schizophrenia. MethodsData from Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) were analyzed, taking data on 179 liposomes as exposure variables, data on 123 circulating metabolites as intermediate variables, and data on schizophrenia as outcome variable. A two-step, two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis was conducted using the inverse-variance weighted (IVW), MR- Egger, Weighted median, and Weighted mode methods to study the causal relationship of liposomes with schizophrenia and the mediating role of circulating metabolomes in the relationship. ResultsIVW model identified 8 lipids associated with schizophrenia without reverse causality. There were 5 circulating metabolomes strongly associated with schizophrenia. Acetate played a significant mediating role in the causal relationship between phosphatidylinositol (18:0_18:2) and schizophrenia (P=0.023, 95% CI: 0.036~0.532), accounting for 28.4% of the causal relationship. ConclusionThis study demonstrates a causal relationship between liposomes and schizophrenia, with phosphatidylinositol being a risk factor in the progression of schizophrenia, and acetate playing a mediating role in this process. 9.The mediating role of anxiety/depression emotions between sleep quality and cognitive function in adolescents with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

Objective:To explore the mediating role of anxiety/depression emotions between sleep quality and cognitive function in adolescents with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD).Methods:A cross-sectional study design was adopted, involving 204 ADHD adolescents aged 12-18 who were treated between January 2021 and November 2023.All participants were assessed using the Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)for sleep quality, the self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) and self-rating depression scale(SDS) for emotional states.Four cognitive information processing processes(planning, simultaneous processing, attention, and successive processing) were evaluated by the Das-Naglieri cognitive assessment system(DN: CAS). Data were statistically analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and Zstats software, including descriptive statistics, Spearman correlation analysis, and mediation effect analysis.Results:Among ADHD adolescents, girls exhibited significantly higher rates of sleep disturbance(71.59%(63/88) vs 43.97%(51/116), χ2=15.490, P<0.001)and depressive emotion(47.73%(42/88) vs 33.62%(39/116), χ2=4.159, P=0.041)compared to boys.High school students had a significantly higher rate of sleep disturbance than middle school students(64.84%(59/91) vs 48.67%(55/113), χ2=5.341, P=0.021). Spearman correlation analysis revealed that sleep quality(8.00(6.00, 11.00)) in ADHD adolescents was significantly and positively correlated with anxiety(38.00(32.00, 46.00); r=0.504, P<0.01) and depression(46.00(39.00, 54.00); r=0.427, P<0.01). And sleep quality, anxiety and depression were significantly and negatively correlated with the DN: CAS total score(109.5(91.25, 123.75); r=-0.158--0.237, P<0.05). Mediation analysis indicated that anxiety mediated the relationship between sleep quality and attention function(indirect effect β=-0.159, Bootstrap 95% CI=-0.287--0.046). Conclusion:ADHD adolescents exhibit complex interactions among sleep quality, emotion, and cognitive function, sleep quality indirectly affects attention function through anxiety.
10.Parallel mediating effects of thwarted belongingness and perceived burdensomeness between childhood emotional neglect and depression in junior high school students

Objective:To examine the association among childhood emotional neglect, thwarted belongingness, perceived burdensomeness, and depression in junior high school students.Methods:From October to December 2024, a total of 314 junior high school students were recruited in Dongying City, Shandong Province. The Chinese versions of the childhood trauma questionnaire-short form (CTQ-SF), the center for epidemiologic studies depression scale (CES-D), and the interpersonal needs questionnaire (INQ) were administered for investigation. SPSS 27.0 software was used for common-method bias test, descriptive analysis, difference test, and correlation analysis. Mplus 8.3 software was employed to build a structural equation model, and the Bootstrap method was adopted for mediation analysis.Results:The scores of depression, childhood emotional neglect, thwarted belongingness, and perceived burdensomeness in junior high school students were 14.00 (9.00, 24.00), 9.00 (5.00, 12.00), 13.00 (8.00, 18.00) and 8.00 (6.00, 19.25), respectively. All variables were positively correlated with one another ( r=0.33-0.51, P<0.01). The total effect of childhood emotional neglect on depression was 0.493 (95% CI=0.396-0.591). The direct effect was 0.126 (95% CI=0.013-0.240), accounting for 25.56%(0.126/0.493) of the total effect. The total indirect effect was 0.367 (95% CI=0.287-0.447), accounting for 74.44%(0.367/0.493) of the total effect. Specifically, the pathway " childhood emotional neglect → thwarted belongingness→ depression" yielded an effect of 0.109, and the pathway " childhood emotional neglect → perceived burdensomeness → depression" yielded an effect of 0.258. Conclusion:Thwarted belongingness and perceived burdensomeness play parallel mediating effects between childhood emotional neglect and depression in junior high school students.
