Polygonatum sibiricum, as a traditional Chinese medicine with both medicinal and edible properties, has attracted considerable attention due to its functions of nourishing Yin and moistening the lungs, tonifying the spleen and benefiting Qi, and nourishing the kidneys and filling essence. Recent studies have demonstrated that Polygonatum sibiricum plays a significant role in regulating the immune system, effectively enhancing and improving the morphology and function of immune organs, stimulating the proliferation and activation of immune cells, and regulating the secretion and release of immune factors, thereby enhancing the immune function of the body and improving various immune-related diseases. Although a large number of studies have explored the pharmacological effects and mechanisms of P. sibiricum, there has been no systematic review and summary of its immune regulatory activity and mechanisms. Therefore, this article comprehensively reviews the research achievements of P. sibiricum polysaccharides and saponins in the field of immune regulation in recent years, and further sorts out the immune regulatory mechanisms of P. sibiricum in multiple aspects: including increasing the organ index of the spleen and thymus, increasing the number and activity of tumor-suppressive bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells, improving intestinal flora imbalance, regulating the quantity and proportion of T lymphocyte subsets, increasing the level of immunoglobulin, promoting the proliferation of macrophages, enhancing the activity of natural killer cells, increasing the number of white blood cells, and promoting the maturation of dendritic cells, providing a solid theoretical basis and scientific evidence for the research and application of P. sibiricum, and promoting its development and application in traditional Chinese medicine immune enhancers and various functional products.

Objective:
To explore the relationship between processed food consumption and blood pressure level of students in a university in Yunnan Province, so as to provide the reference for preventing hypertension in university students.
Methods:
In October 2021, a cluster sampling method was used to select 4 781 freshmen from a university in Kunming, Yunnan Province. The frequency of processed food consumption of university students was assessed by using the dietary frequency questionnaire, and height, weight and blood pressure were measured. Mann-Whitney test and Kruskal-Wallis test were used to compare the differences in blood pressure level of university students with different demographic variables, and the association between processed food consumption and blood pressure level was analyzed with a generalized linear model.
Results:
Among the students of a university in Yunnan Province, the detection rates of systolic prehypertension and hypertension were 33.86% and 1.23%, and the detection rates of diastolic prehypertension were 32.13% and hypertension 7.22%. The results of generalized linear model analysis showed that after controlling for demographic variables and other variables that might affect the blood pressure level of university students, the consumption of processed food (bread and cake: β =0.15, 95% CI =0.01-0.29) and ultra processed food (coffee beverage: β =-0.29, 95% CI =-0.54--0.03) were associated with systolic blood pressure level( P <0.05). The consumption of processed food (salted duck egg: β =0.21, 95% CI =0.01-0.41) was correlated with the diastolic blood pressure of college students ( P <0.05).
Conclusions
Processed food consumption in university students may increase the risk of high blood pressure. The education of healthy eating among college students should be strengthened to reduce the consumption of processed foods.

Digestive system malignant tumor is one of the common malignant tumors in humans, and its high morbidity and low survival rate at advanced stages bring heavy disease burden to patients, families and society. However, current tumor screening technologies are not suitable for screening in large-scale populations and long-term follow-up because of the invasiveness or complexity. Thus, liquid biopsy, which based on biomarkers such as circulating tumor DNA,circulating tumor cells, exosomes and other new biomarkers, has broad prospects for development in tumor screening.Exosome, secreted by living cells,is a type of extracellular vesicle with the lipid bilayer.Compared to other biomarkers, exosome has the advantages of high stability, wide distribution, and high quantity. The various proteins carried by exosome can reflect the characteristics of the origin cells, and exosome has important research value for the early diagnosis of tumors. This article reviews the studies of exosomal proteins as biomarkers for early diagnosis of digestive system malignant tumors in the past five years, and summarizes the characteristics and limitations of the above studies,so as to provide reference for promoting the clinical transformation of exosomal proteins.

Objective:
To explore the effects and mechanisms of interfering with transient receptor potential melastatin subfamily member 7(TRPM7) on biological behaviors(proliferation, apoptosis, invasion) of laryngeal carcinoma cells.
Methods:
Human laryngeal carcinoma cells TU212 were culturedin vitro. TRPM7-shRNA plasmid vectors(TRPM7-shRNA1 group, TRPM7-shRNA2 group, TRPM7-shRNA3 group) and negative control shRNA-NC(shRNA-NC group) were constructed. TU212 cells were transfected by liposome transfection method. The cells transfected with empty vector were enrolled as Control group. The level of lactic dehydrogenase(LDH) in TU212 supernatant was detected by ELISA. The level of malondialdehyde(MDA) and activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) in supernatant were detected by colorimetry. The effects of knocking-down TRPM7 on proliferation and invasion of TU212 cells were detected by CCK-8, clone formation assay and Transwell assay. The expressions of invasion and apoptosis-related proteins were detected by Western blot.
Results:
After transfection, expression levels of TRPM7 mRNA and protein were down-regulated in TRPM7-shRNA1 group, TRPM7-shRNA2 group and TRPM7-shRNA3 group compared with Control group(P<0.05), and the decrease was the most significant in TRPM7-shRNA1 group(P<0.05). In functional experiments, SOD level in TRPM7-shRNA1 group decreased compared with Control group(P<0.05), while MDA and LDH levels increased(P<0.05). The cells proliferation rate and clone formation rate were decreased(P<0.05), the number of invasion cells was reduced(P<0.05), the expressions of N-cadherin and Vimentin proteins were down-regulated(P<0.05), mitochondrial membrane potentials were reduced(P<0.05), Bax/Bcl-2 and cleaved caspase-3/caspase-3 increased(P<0.05).
Conclusion
Knocking-down TRPM7 can increase oxidative stress level in laryngeal carcinoma cells TU212, inhibit their proliferation and invasion, and induce their apoptosis by mitochondrial pathways.

Journal of Prevention and Treatment for Stomatological Diseases 2021;29(6):368-376
Objective:
To investigate the influence of mechanical debridement on the subgingival microbiome in chronic periodontitis by 16S rRNA high-throughput sequencing.
Methods:
Patients with generalized moderate to severe chronic periodontitis were recruited into this study and received oral hygiene instruction and supragingival scaling. One week later, they received ultrasonic and manual subgingival scaling and root planning. Clinical parameters were recorded and subgingival plaques were sampled at baseline and 3 months and 6 months after treatment. The comprehensive profiles of the subgingival microbiome were analyzed by sequencing the V3-4 region of 16S rRNA with the Illumina MiSeq platform.
Results :
Alpha diversity analysis showed that the richness and diversity of the subgingival community were consistent before and after treatment, but a significant difference in community structure was detected only between baseline and month 3 by principal coordinates analysis (PCoA). After 3 months, the clinical parameter as probing depth (PD) decreased significantly and the relative abundances of the genera related to periodontitis such as Porphyromonas, Treponema, Tannerella, and Filifactor decreased significantly. Meanwhile, the relative abundances of the genera associated with periodontal health increased, such as Capnocytophaga, Kingella. Six months later, however, less genera related to periodontitis decreased significantly from the baseline level, such as Filifactor. PD decreased significantly compared with baseline, but increased significantly compared with 3 months after treatment.
Conclusion
Mechanical debridement alone could relieve periodontal inflammation and balance microbial dysbiosis and the greater efficacy occurred 3 months after treatment.

Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery 2020;36(6):617-622
Objective:To study the correction of nasal septum deviation. Methods:From August 2016 to August 2018, a total of 47 patients with nasal septum deviation were treated in Shanghai Mei-gui Medical Cosmetology Hospital, including 11 males and 36 females, aged from 18 to 43 years old, with an average age of 23 years old. After the L-shaped stent was retained during the operation, the nasal septum cartilage was cut off. Firstly, stress and volumetric correction of the dorsal deviation of nasal septum was done by nicked and grafted on the opposite side of the deviation of the nasal septum cartilage, then deviation of caudal of the nasal septum was corrected according to different cases.(1)CategoriesⅠ: The anterior nasal crest is centered. The posterior septum angle is attached to the anterior nasal crest. Caudal septum is arc curved to one side. The concave surface of the bent cartilage was scratched and a cartilage slat was placed on one side to form a unilateral splint and correct the bending.(2) CategoriesⅡ: The anterior nasal crest is centered. The posterior septum angle is attached to the anterior nasal crest and the nasal septum is tilted in a straight line in the forward direction. Volume correction was done by placing the graft forward from the anterior nasal crest on the opposite side of the caudal deflection to ensure that the anterior angle is centered.(3) CategoriesⅢ: The anterior nasal crest is centered. The posterior septum angle emerges from the anterior nasal crest and is tilted to one side. The nasal septum is curved or deviated in a straight line. The posterior angle was detached from the dislocation point and repositioned on the anterior nasal crest. The caudal length should be excised appropriately. Cartilage strengthening transplantation was performed according to the strength and deviating tendency of the caudal cartilage.(4) CategoriesⅣ: The anterior nasal crest is tilted to one side, and the posterior septum angle is connected to the misplaced anterior nasal crest, about 2 mm of cartilage remains above the anterior nasal crest. The anterior nasal crest is detached from the posterior end and repositioned toward the midline. When the displacement distance is large, small cartilage is filled in the gap between the broken ends. If the original anterior nasal crest is too prominent, it can be chiselled out. Then cartilage augmentation grafts were performed according to the strength and inclination of the caudal end. Postoperative effects were observed. Results:A total of 47 cases were included. 8 cases wereⅠ class, 13 cases were Ⅱ class, 5 cases were Ⅲ class and 21 cases were Ⅳ class. The average follow-up period was 3 months to 1 year. Deviation recurrence occurred within 1-3 months after surgery in 1 case of Ⅱ class and 2 case of Ⅳ class. The second adjustment half a year after operation was satisfactory. One side of the nasal cavity was obstructed postoperatively in one case of Ⅲ class. Examination revealed hypertrophy of the inferior turbinate on this side. Nasal congestion is relieved after correction of hypertrophy of inferior turbinate. The other 43 cases recovered well after operation. Dorsal of the nose and the tip and columellar are basically centered. Both nostrils are basically symmetrical, and no other complications occurred. Conclusions:According to different circumstances of dorsal and caudal deviation of the nasal septum L-shaped stent and carry out targeted correction , nasal deformity caused by nasal septum deviation can be effectively treated.
