Objective: To explore the association between meat consumption and anxiety symptoms in first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province, and to provide theoretical support for preventing and relieving anxiety symptoms in junior high school students. Methods: From October to December 2022, a random cluster sampling method was used to select 8 500 first year junior high school students from 11 counties in Yunnan Province as the survey subjects for a questionnaire survey. The study used Food Frequency Questionnaire and the Chinese version of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) to assess the meat consumption and anxiety symptoms of junior high school students.The distribution differences in anxiety symptoms among first year junior high school students with different demographic characteristics were analyzed statistically by using the Chi-square test,and the association between meat consumption and anxiety symptoms in students was analyzed by using a generalized linear model. Results: The detection rate of anxiety symptoms was 48.47%. After controlling for demographic variables and confounding factors, the consumption of livestock meat, poultry meat, processed meat, cured meat, barbecued meat and raw skin meat was statistically significant with anxiety symptoms ( β =-0.05, 0.04, 0.04, 0.08, 0.14, 0.17, all P <0.05). Stratified by ethnicity, The consumption of livestock meat, cured meat and barbecue was statistically correlated with anxiety symptoms in Han adolescents ( β =-0.07, 0.14, 0.22 ); the consumption of processed meat and raw skin meat was statistically correlated with anxiety symptoms in ethnic minority adolescents ( β =0.08, 0.18) (all P <0.05). Conclusions There is a statistical association between meat comsumption and the risk of anxiety symptoms in first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province. Guidance on meat consumption should be strengthened to prevent the occurrence of anxiety symptoms.

BACKGROUND: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the first cohort of people in China treated with a responsive neurostimulation system (Epilcure TM , GenLight MedTech, Hangzhou, China) for focal drug-resistant epilepsy in this study. METHODS: This multicenter, before-and-after self-controlled study was conducted across 8 centers from March 2022 to June 2023, involving patients with drug-resistant epilepsy who were undergoing responsive neurostimulation (RNS). The study was based on an ongoing multi-center, single-blind, randomized controlled study. Efficacy was assessed through metrics including median seizure count, seizure frequency reduction (SFR), and response rate. Multivariable linear regression analysis was conducted to explore the relationships of basic clinical factors and intracranial electrophysiological characteristics with SFR. The postoperative quality of life, cognitive function, depression, and anxiety were evaluated as well. RESULTS: The follow-up period for the 19 participants was 10.7 ± 3.4 months. Seizure counts decreased significantly 6 months after device activation, with median SFR of 48% at the 6th month (M6) and 58% at M12 ( P  <0.05). The average response rate after 13 months of treatment was 42%, with 21% ( n  = 4) of the participants achieving seizure freedom. Patients who have previously undergone resective surgery appear to achieve better therapeutic outcomes at M11, M12 and M13 ( β  <0, P  <0.05). No statistically significant differences were observed in patients' scores of quality of life, cognition, depression and anxiety following stimulation when compared to baseline measurements. No serious adverse events related to the devices were observed. CONCLUSIONS: The preliminary findings suggest that Epilcure TM exhibits promising therapeutic potential in reducing the frequency of epileptic seizures. However, to further validate its efficacy, larger-scale randomized controlled trials are required. REGISTRATION Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (No. ChiCTR2200055247).

Objective : To investigate the efficacy of standardized allergen subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) in children with asthma sensitized to single dust mite allergens versus multiple allergens and to assess the safety of SCIT. Methods : 62 children with confirmed allergic asthma who received standardized allergen SCIT were retro⁃ spectively analyzed and divided into the monosensitized group (dust mite results≥ + + + ) and the polysensitized group (dust mite results ≥ + + + combined with other positive allergens) according to the results of skin pricktest , we observed the changes of pulmonary function , medication score and visual analog scale (VAS) scores , children asthma control test (C - ACT) scores , asthma control questionnaire (ACQ) scores before and after treatment in both groupsand compared the efficacy of the two groups. The incidence of local and systemic adverse effects was recorded during treatment in all children to assess the safety of SCIT. Results : Standardized allergen SCIT treatmentimproved lung function parameters , medication scores and VAS scores , C ⁃ACT scores , ACQ scores in both the monosensitized and polysensitized groups , with statistically significant differences before and after treatment (P < 0. 05) . In comparison between the two groups , lung function parameters [forced expiratory flow at 50% vital capacity(FEF50% ) , maximum midexpiratory flow(MMEF)] , medication scores , C ⁃ACT scores and ACQ scores improved significantly in the monosensitized group compared with the polysensitized group after treatment ( P <0. 001) . 62 patients received a total of 2 606 injections during the treatment of SCIT , 6 children had a total of 10 local adverse reactions and 3 children had 3 mild to moderate systemic adverse reactions , with an incidence of 0. 38% for local adverse reactions and 0. 12% for systemic adverse reactions. Conclusion The children with asthma in both the monosensitized group and polysensitized group achieved significant and safe clinical outcomes under standardized allergen SCIT. The children in the monosensitized group had more obvious clinical effects than the polysensitized group under standardized allergen SCIT.

Objective To conduct a retrospective study on the clinical efficacy with endoscopic linea alba plication (ELAP) in the treatment of postpartum diastasis recti abdominis muscles. Methods Clinical data was collected to study the patients with postpartum diastasis recti abdominis muscles treated by ELAP in our hospital from January 2018 to December 2021. The operation was performed successfully in 48 cases. One case was lost follow-up and 47 cases were included in this study. Mean age was (34.9±4.2) years with body mass index (BMI) (20.1±2.0) kg/m2. The index of patients included general data, intraoperative data and postoperative recovery. Follow-up was done through out-patient examination and B-mode ultrasonography until to March 2022. Results The inter-rectus distance (IRD) in umbilical area (M3) shown by ultrasound examination was (41.6±8.2) mm. There were 10 cases combined with umbilical hernia and 2 cases with linea alba hernia. ELAP was performed under general anesthesia. All hernia rings were closed by suturing. The operative time was (130.9±36.0) min. Visual analog scale was (1.2±0.6) on the 1st postoperative day with postoperative hospital stay (1.5±0.9) d. Two cases had mild seroma postoperatively with puncture and absorption under B-ultrasound guiding. Remaining cases were without operative complications such as bleeding and infection of incision. Followed up of 47 cases was completed in the period of median 15(12, 26) months. One case had mild pain in the operative site and cured after non-operative treatment. Ultrasound examination in the other case showed 57.0 mm of IRD in M3 area preoperative and normal in the follow-up of 1 month postoperative. However, there was mild recurrence on 3 months of follow-up showing IRD 21.0 mm. Conclusions ELAP could be considered safe and effective in the treatment of postpartum diastasis recti abdominis muscle.

Objective To analyze the advantages and surgical experience of laparoscopic anatomical surgery for adrenal tumors.Methods A total of 156 patients with benign or malignant adrenal tumors admitted to our hospital from April 2012 to September 2016 were enrolled and underwent laparoscopic anatomical surgery in the study.The curative effect and advantages of the operation were analyzed,and surgical experiences of laparoscopic anatomical surgery for adrenal tumors were summarized.Results Laparoscopic adrenalectomy was successfully completed in 155 of the 156(99.4％)patients and 1 patient with pheochromocytoma underwent open surgery due to pneumothorax caused by an accidental diaphragm injury.Postoperative pulmonary embolism occurred in 1 case and hematoma in right adrenal region in 6 cases,all of whom were completely relieved after intervention.Postoperative surgical specimen of adrenal glands in 54 patients were histopathologically examined,the results of which showed the negative boundaries in all patients.Patients were followed up for a mean of 11.6 months(range,4 to 26 months).All patients had a good recovery after surgery without recurrence of malignant tumor in local or trocar site.Conclusions As compared with open surgery,the transperitoneal laparoscopic adrenal surgery provides a larger operation area for good orientation and vision,and has such advantages as shorter hospital stay,fewer postoperative complications and better prognosis in patients with malignant adrenal tumors,which is worthy of clinical selection.

Objective To investigate the expressions of carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9), carbohydrate antigen 15-3(CA15-3) and carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125) and their clinical significance in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Methods The expressions of CA19-9, CA15-3 and CA125 were detected by immunohistochemical MaxVision method in 80 cases of PTC and 80 cases of benign thyroid lesions (BTL), including 34 cases of nodular goiter, 26 cases of Hashimoto's thyroiditis and 20 cases of follicular adenoma. The relationship between expressions of CA19-9, CA15-3 and CA125 and the clinical pathological characteristics were analyzed. Results The expression rates of CA19-9, CA15-3 and CA125 in 80 cases of PTC were 85%, 100%and 43.8%respectively, compared with BTL, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.01). There was no significant correlation between expressions of CA19-9, CA15-3 and CA125 and age, gender, number and diameter of tumor nodules, lymph node metastasis, and TNM staging (P > 0.05). The sensitivity of CA19-9, CA15-3 and CA125 in the differential diagnosis of PTC and BTL were 85%, 100% and 43.8% respectively, and the specificity were 91.3%, 36.3%and 91.3%, respectively. Conclusion The expressions of CA19-9, CA153 and CA125 are helpful for the differential diagnosis of PTC and BTL.

Objective To investigate the effects of ropivacaine infiltration combined with dezocine on the agitation during recovery from general anesthesia in the patients undergoing cerebral surgery.Methods Sixty patients of both sexes,aged 18-64 yr,of ASA physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ,undergoing elective neurosurgery under general anesthesia,were randomly divided into 4 groups (n =15 each) using a random number table:control group (group C),ropivacaine group (group R),dezocine group (group D),and ropivacaine + dezocine group (group RD).Group C received local infiltration with normal saline 20 ml at 10 min before skin incision,and normal saline 2 ml was injected intravenously at 30 min before the end of operation.The patients received local infiltration with 0.5％ ropivacaine 20 ml at 10 min before skin incision,and normal saline 2 ml was injected intravenously at 30 min before the end of operation in group R.Group D received local infiltration with normal saline 20 ml at 10 min before skin incision,and dezocine 10 mg was injected intravenously at 30 min before the end of operation.The patients received local infiltration with 0.5％ ropivacaine 20 ml at 10 min before skin incision,and dezocine 10 mg was injected intravenously at 30 min before the end of operation in group RD.The time for recovery from anesthesia,extubation time,and development of agitation after extubation in PACU were recorded.Agitation was assessed and scored.Ramsay sedation score and VAS score were recorded immediately after extubation.The development of cardiovascular events and respiratory depression was recorded within 10 min after extubation.Before induction of anesthesia (T0),at the end of surgery (T1) and immediately after extubation (T2),blood samples were collected from the dorsal artery of foot for deter mination of the levels of blood glucose,plasma cortisone,epinephrine and norepinephrine.Results Compared with group C,the agitation score,incidence of agitation,VAS score,and incidence of postoperative hypertension were significantly decreased in R,D and RD groups,especially in R and D groups.The time for recovery from anesthesia and time for extubation were significantly shorter in R and RD groups than in group C.Ramsay sedation scores were significantly higher at the onset of extubation in R,D and RD groups than in group C.Ramsay sedation scores were significantly higher in D and RD groups than in group R.Compared with group C,the levels of blood glucose,plasma cortisone,epinephrine and norepinephrine were significantly decreased in R,D and RD groups,especially in group RD.Conclusion Ropivacaine infiltration combined with dezocine can reduce the agitation during recovery from general anesthesia in the patients undergoing cerebral surgery.

Objective To evaluate masticatory performance and life quality of children with ectodermal dysplasia(ED) after prosthetic rehabilitation.Methods Six children with ED received denture restoration and 18 healthy children were involved in this study.The surface electromyography(EMG) of masseter(MM) and anterior temporalis(TA) during clenching and chewing movement were recorded.The EMG amplitude,area,asymmetry index of total and activity index of MM/TA were compared at each stage.The masticatory efficiency was measured with spectrophotometer.The life quality was assessed using visual analogue scale questionnaire.Results The EMG amplitude of MM and TA during chewing in ED Group were 41.7％ and 45.6％ of the control group respectively,the area were 35.9％ and 36.0％ respectively.Significant difference in asymmetry index of total during clenching was observed between the two groups (P＜0.05) but not during chewing(P＞0.05).The differences of activity index of MM/TA during clenching and chewing between the two groups were not detected(P＞0.05).The masticatory efficiency of ED group was 67.2％ of the control group.The score of chewing function in children with ED after prosthetic rehabilitation was three times higher than before,and no difference was present between the two groups (P＞0.05).Conclusions Early prosthetic rehabilitation can significantly improve the masticatory performance and life quality of children with ED.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical value of infrahyoid myocutaneous flap in the reconstruction of mouth floor tissue defects. MethodsInfrahyoid myocutaneous flap was made including stenohyoid,thyrohyoid,omohyoid and the affiliated skin based on the axis of superior thyroid artery,vein and ansa cervicalis. The clinical data of 11 patients with reconstruction of mouth floor tissue defects using infrahyoid myocutaneous flap (maximum area was 8 cm × 3 cm) from Match 1993 to June 2009 were retrospectively reviewed.ResultsSeven infrahyoid myocutaneous flaps which reserved platysma branch of superior thyroid artery were all alive, while 2 patients presented epidermal necrosis of 4 un-protected patients. The follow-up period was range from 24 months to 195 months, one patient received salvage surgery for local regional lymphatic recurrence in level Ⅰ,which survived without diseases until now.The rest cases had turned out a success.No dysphagia,dysphonia,and tongue extension difficulty was reported in any patient.ConclusionInfrahyoid myocutaneous flap is one of the valuable donor sites for the reconstruction of mouth floor tissue defects after radical oncologic operations,especially for those with early stage carcinoma of the mouth floor.

Objective To determine the frequency of depression in patients with Parkinson' s disease(PD) and healthy controls over 50 years of age and to analyze the characteristics and influencing factors of PD with depression(PDD) in Nanjing.Methods One hundred and twenty-six PD patients were diagnosed and assessed using Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) and Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD).The frequency,characteristics and influencing factors of depression were statistically analyzed,and the factor analysis of HAMD was carried out.Also,one hundred and twenty-four healthy subjects over the age of 50 were selected as the control group.Ressults The incidence of depression in PD group was 48.4％ ( 61/126):15.1％ (19/126) for mild depression,27.8％ (35/126) for moderate depression,5.6％ (7/126) for severe depression.The incidence of depression in the control group was 9.7％ (12/124):5.7％ (7/124) for mild depression,2.4％ (3/124) for moderate depression,1.6％ (2/124) for severe depression.There was a significant difference between these two groups( x2 =45.36,P ＜ 0.01 ).Univariate and Logistic regression analysis revealed that a high frequency of depression occurred in patients with long PD duration,high H-Y stage and UPDRS Ⅲ.According to each factor analysis of HAMD,the scores of cognitive impairment,tardiness,anxiety and sleep disturbances of the PD patients with depressive syndromes were higher than that of the control group.Conclusion Depression is a relatively common complication of PD in Nanjing which is associated with long PD duration,severity of motor disturbances and increasing H-Y stage.
