Chinese Journal of Biologicals 2024;37(07):881-886
Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome(PRRS),also known as blue ear disease,is an immunosuppressive disease caused by porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV). PRRSV is an important infectious pathogen of porcine, which has the characteristics of easy recombination and mutation, high transmission ability, and has been widely spread in the world. At the same time, because of the characteristics of immunosuppression, immune evasion, and easy-to-cause antibody-dependent enhancement(ADE),the pathogen has brought serious challenges to the disease prevention and control of PRRS and the development of related vaccines. In this paper, the pathogenic process of PRRSV,immune evasion mechanism, and research progress in different types of PRRSV vaccines were reviewed,in order to provide ideas for the development of related vaccines in the future

Objective:To evaluate the feasibility and clinical effectiveness of placing a nasointestinal ileus tube (NTI) during extensive adhesive bowel obstruction (ABO) surgery. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical and follow-up data of 60 patients with extensive ABO admitted to the Department of General Surgery of Daxing District Hospital of Capital Medical University from April 2019 to April 2021, of which 30 patients underwent intraoperative NIT intraintestinal alignment (observation group) and 30 patients who did not undergo NIT intraintestinal alignment (control group) during the same period. There were 12 males and 18 females in the observation group. There were 16 males and 14 females in the control group. The operation time, gastrointestinal function recovery time, discharge time, total effective rate and postoperative complication rate were compared between the two groups, and the quantitative data of the recurrence rate of intestinal obstruction at 24 months after surgery were expressed as mean ± standard deviation ( ± s), and the t-test was used for comparison between groups. Numerological data were presented as cases (percentage) [ n (%)], and chi-square tests were used for comparison between groups. Results:All patients were successfully completed the surgery and discharged from the hospital. There was no statistically significant difference in total effective rate between the control group and the observation group( χ2=3.16, P=0.237). The surgical time in the observation group was slightly longer than that in the control group [(110.6±4.6) min vs (94.3±2.5) min, t=17.27, P=0.001]. The recovery time of gastrointestinal function and hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group[(8.13±1.00) d vs (8.70±0.70) d, t=2.53, P=0.014; (12.83±1.57) d vs (13.67±1.03) d, t=0.03, P=0.018]. The incidence of postoperative complications was lower than that in the control group (10% vs 30%, P=0.028), and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion:Intraoperative application of NIT is safe and effective, and can significantly reduce the recurrence rate of postoperative intestinal obstruction.

[Abstract] Objective: To investigate the osteogenic differentiation characteristics of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) derived from bone marrow in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and its clinical significance. Methods: Bone marrow samples from 30 cases of newly diagnosed untreated MDS patient atAffiliated Hospital of Heibei University were collected for this study. MSCs from MDS patients and normal subjects were isolated and cultured, and morphological characteristics of MSCs were observed in vitro; under proper conditions, MSCs were induced to differentiate into osteoblasts and adipocytes; The formation of calcium nodules at 14th day after osteogenic differentiation was observed by alizarin red staining; mRNA expressions of osteogenic differentiation transcription factors Ostefix and RUNX2 in undifferentiated MSCs, as well as the mRNAexpression of Jagged-1, which involved in the transformation from hematopoietic cells into leukemic cells, were detected by quantitative PCR. Results: The MSCs derived from patients with MDS were characterized with increased cell volume and decreased differentiation potential. Compared with the control group, the expression levels of osteogenic differentiation transcription factors Osterix and RUNX2 were significantly decreased (P < 0.05). Alizarin red staining showed that the content of calcium nodules in MDS group was significantly less than that in the normal control group, while the expression level of Jagged-1 was significantly higher (P < 0.05). Conclusion: MSCs derived from bone marrow of MDS patients showed significant increased cell volume, decreased differentiation potential and elevated Jagged-1 expression; all of these might play important roles in the .hematopoietic failure and progression to acute myeloid leukemia in MDS patients.

Objective To investigate the risk factors and treatment efficiency for lung cancer patients with venous thromboembolism (VTE). Methods Total 282 cases of lung cancer patients with VTE were enrolled into two groups , including the VTE group and the non-VTE group , for comparation analysis based on a series of clinical data. Results The occupation rate of adenocarcinoma and Ⅳ period were 65.28% and 87.50% in VTE group, respectively, higher than those of 51.43% and 75.71% in the non-VTE group. The increased rate of blood viscosity and d-dimer respectively were 65.28% and 70.83%, higher than those of 51.43% and 56.67% in the non-VTE group, with significant differences (P < 0.05, respectively). Result of logistic regression analysis showed that tumor stage , d-dimer levels , smoking , age , and blood viscosity levels were highly correlated with venous thrombosis in patients with lung cancer, and the OR value among them was 3.802, 2.339, 5.814, 3.875 and 6.404, respectively, with significant differencees (P < 0.05, respectively). Conclusions Lung adenocarcinoma with stage Ⅳ, smoking , age and increase of blood viscosity and d-dimer were the important risk factors for VTE in patients with lung cancer chemotherapy. Timely assessment of risk factors and early anticoagulation therapy in lung cancer patients with venous thromboembolism associated with VTE can improve the treatment efficacy and reduce the complications.
