ObjectiveTo establish an ultra-performance liquid fingerprint and multi-components determination method for Naomaili granules. To evaluate the quality of different batches by chemometrics, and the anti-neuroinflammatory effects of water extract and main components of Naomaili granules were tested in vitro. MethodsThe similarity and common peaks of 27 batches of Naomaili granules were evaluated by using Ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) fingerprint detection. Ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) technology was used to determine the content of the index components in Naomaili granules and to evaluate the quality of different batches of Naomaili granules by chemometrics. LPS-induced BV-2 cell inflammation model was used to investigate the anti-neuroinflammatory effects of the water extract and main components of Naomaili granules. ResultsThe similarity of fingerprints of 27 batches of samples was > 0.90. A total of 32 common peaks were calibrated, and 23 of them were identified and assigned. In 27 batches of Naomaili granules, the mass fractions of 14 components that were stachydrine hydrochloride, leonurine hydrochloride, calycosin-7-O-glucoside, calycosin, tanshinoneⅠ, cryptotanshinone, tanshinoneⅡA, ginsenoside Rb1, notoginsenoside R1, ginsenoside Rg1, paeoniflorin, albiflorin, lactiflorin, and salvianolic acid B were found to be 2.902-3.498, 0.233-0.343, 0.111-0.301, 0.07-0.152, 0.136-0.228, 0.195-0.390, 0.324-0.482, 1.056-1.435, 0.271-0.397, 1.318-1.649, 3.038-4.059, 2.263-3.455, 0.152-0.232, 2.931-3.991 mg∙g-1, respectively. Multivariate statistical analysis showed that paeoniflorin, ginsenoside Rg1, ginsenoside Rb1 and staphylline hydrochloride were quality difference markers to control the stability of the preparation. The results of bioactive experiment showed that the water extract of Naomaili granules and the eight main components with high content in the prescription had a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on the release of NO in the cell supernatant. Among them, salvianolic acid B and ginsenoside Rb1 had strong anti-inflammatory activity, with IC50 values of (36.11±0.15) mg∙L-1 and (27.24±0.54) mg∙L-1, respectively. ConclusionThe quality evaluation method of Naomaili granules established in this study was accurate and reproducible. Four quality difference markers were screened out, and eight key pharmacodynamic substances of Naomaili granules against neuroinflammation were screened out by in vitro cell experiments.
2.Correlation of childhood trauma and leisure activities with psychological distress among upper grade elemetary school students
Chinese Journal of School Health 2026;47(1):70-74
Objective:
To understand the impact of childhood trauma on psychological distress among upper grade elemetary school students, and to explore the mediating role of leisure activities in the relationship, so as to provide a basis for developing mental health intervention strategies.
Methods:
From August to November 2024, a combination of convenience sampling and stratified cluster random sampling was employed to recruit 1 373 fourth to sixth grade students from four primary schools in Harbin. The Childhood Trauma Questionnaire(CTQ), a self designed leisure activity scale (including active and passive leisure activities), and the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10) were used to assess childhood trauma experiences, leisure activities, and levels of psychological distress. Spearman correlation analysis and linear regression analysis were conducted to explore the relationships among childhood trauma, leisure types, leisure time, and psychological distress. Based on the mediation analysis framework proposed by Hayes (Model 4), the mediating role of leisure types in the relationship between childhood trauma and psychological distress was examined.
Results:
Totally 19.1% of the upper elemetary school students exhibited psychological distress, while 30.2% had experienced childhood trauma. During school days, 64.6% of the students were reported of having leisure time concentrated between 1 and 5 hours per day, whereas 67.4% reported leisure time exceeding 5 hours per day on weekends. After controlling for potential demographic confounders such as gender, grade, ethnicity, household registration, being an only child, parents educational level, co residence, and whether parents are first time married, linear regression analysis showed that childhood trauma experience had positive predictive effect on psychological distress in upper primary school students( β =0.20, P <0.01). Leisure time showed no statistically significant association with psychological distress, both on school days ( β =-0.58 to -0.56) and weekends ( β =0.26- 0.98 )(all P >0.05). Active leisure activities were negatively associated with psychological distress ( β =-0.20), while passive leisure activities were positively associated with psychological distress ( β =0.29)(both P <0.01). Leisure type partially mediated the relationship between childhood trauma and psychological distress, accounting for 11.7% of the indirect effect.
Conclusion
Childhood trauma experiences positively predict psychological distress in upper elementary school students, and affect psychological distress through active leisure and passive leisure.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Medicine 2026;33(2):330-338
With the widespread application of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy, cardiotoxicity associated with anti-tumor treatment has gained increasing attention. Drug-induced cardiac injury can significantly impact patients’ quality of life and may even limit the overall efficacy of anti-tumor therapy. The underlying mechanisms include oxidative stress, inflammatory responses, mitochondrial dysfunction, apoptosis, and immune dysregulation. Owing to multitarget effects, low toxicity, and holistic regulatory properties, Chinese traditional medicines have demonstrated considerable potential in cardioprotection. This review summarizes the principal mechanisms of drug-induced myocardial injury related to anti-tumor therapy and highlights recent advances in the prevention and treatment of cardiotoxicity using Chinese medical formulae, such as compound danshen dripping pills, nuanxinkang, qili qiangxin capsules, and shengmai powder, as well as their bioactive constituents. The cardioprotective effects of these agents are discussed in terms of their antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and mitochondrial-protective actions. Furthermore, it highlights certain traditional medicines that exhibit unique advantages in synergistic cardioprotective and anti-tumor therapy. Future efforts should focus on well-designed, systematic clinical studies to facilitate the translational application of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in cardio-oncology.

BackgroundPatients with colorectal cancer are frequently comorbid with depression, which severely affects the quality of life and treatment compliance, while compromising the efficacy of anticancer treament and prognosis. Current therapeutic strategies still have notable limitations, particularly the lack of systematic and targeted synergistic regimens that integrate oncological management and anti-depressive intervention. It is of great clinical significance to explore a safe and effective new comprehensive intervention protocol and clarify its underlying mechanism of action. ObjectiveTo explore the effectiveness and safety of Shugan Yunpi Decoction in alleviating depressive and anxiety symptoms in colorectal cancer patients with depressive disorder through the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway, in order to provide references for the comprehensive treatment of colorectal cancer and depressive disorder. MethodsThis study was a randomized controlled trial. A total of 106 patients admitted to the Baoding No.1 Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine from November 2023 to July 2025 were enrolled, who met the diagnostic criteria for the Chinese protocol of diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer (2023 edition) and the diagnostic criteria for depressive disorder as specified in the Chinese Classification and Diagnostic Criteria of Mental Disease, third edition (CCMD-3). Patients were divided into the study group and the control group using a random number table, with 53 cases in each group. The control group received conventional chemotherapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine five-element music therapy, while the study group received conventional chemotherapy combined with Shugan Yunpi Decoction therapy. Both groups were treated for 8 weeks. Depressive and anxiety symptoms were assessed using the Hamilton Depression Scale-17 item(HAMD-17) and Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), respectively. Western blot protein immunoblotting was used to detect the expression levels of PI3K, AKT, and pAKT. Real-time fluorescence quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to detect the expression levels of PI3K mRNA and AKT mRNA. Adverse reactions were recorded using a self-designed adverse reaction record form. ResultsRepeated measures analysis of variance showed that the time effects (F=139.336, 234.747), group effects (F=43.900, 101.266), and time-group interaction effects (F=13.409, 43.216) for HAMD-17 and HAMA scores in both groups were statistically significant (P<0.01). After 4 and 8 weeks of treatment, the HAMD-17 and HAMA scores in both groups were lower than those before treatment, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). HAMD-17 and HAMA scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The time effects (F=571.356, 309.266, 414.492), group effects (F=6.901, 26.361, 39.362), and time-group interaction effects (F=18.592, 19.266, 33.484) for the protein expression levels of PI3K, AKT, and pAKT in both groups were all statistically significant (P<0.01). After 8 weeks of treatment, the protein expression levels of PI3K and pAKT in the study group were lower than those in the control group, while the AKT protein expression level was higher than that in the control group(P<0.01). The time effects (F=338.555, 225.059), group effects (F=5.429, 9.726), and time-group interaction effects (F=12.953, 21.214) for PI3K mRNA and AKT mRNA expression levels in two groups were all statistically significant (P<0.01). After 8 weeks of treatment, the expression levels of PI3K mRNA and AKT mRNA in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was lower than that in the control group (χ2=4.810, P<0.05). ConclusionShugan Yunpi Decoction may help to ameliorate depressive and anxiety symptoms in colorectal cancer patients with depressive disorder by regulating the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway, decreasing the levels of PI3K, pAKT, PI3K mRNA, and AKT mRNA, with a favorable safety profile. OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the effect of manual acupuncture manipulations (MAMs) on subcutaneous muscle tissue, by developing quantitative models of "lifting and thrusting" and "twisting and rotating", based on machine learning techniques.
METHODS:
A depth camera was used to capture the acupuncture operator's hand movements during "lifting and thrusting" and "twisting and rotating" of needle. Simultaneously, the ultrasound imaging was employed to record the muscle tissue responses of the participants. Amplitude and angular features were extracted from the movement data of operators, and muscle fascicle slope features were derived from the data of ultrasound images. The dynamic time warping barycenter averaging algorithm was adopted to align the dual-source data. Various machine learning techniques were applied to build quantitative models, and the performance of each model was compared. The most optimal model was further analyzed for its interpretability.
RESULTS:
Among the quantitative models built for the two types of MAMs, the random forest model demonstrated the best performance. For the quantitative model of the "lifting and thrusting" technique, the coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.825. For the "twisting and rotating" technique, R2 reached 0.872.
CONCLUSION
Machine learning can be used to effectively develop the models and quantify the effects of MAMs on subcutaneous muscle tissue. It provides a new perspective to understand the mechanism of acupuncture therapy and lays a foundation for optimizing acupuncture technology and designing personalized treatment regimen in the future.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2025;43(3):354-361
OBJECTIVES:
This study aimed to investigate the association between temporomandibular disorder (TMD) and insomnia using a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) approach.
METHODS:
Bidirectional MR analyses of two samples, TMD (n=377 277) and insomnia (n=375 359), were performed using genome-wide association study statistics published in the FinnGen database. Instrumental variables were first screened, and then inverse variance weighting (IVW) and MR-Egger were used as the main-effect assessment methods. Weighted median, weighted mode, and simple mode served as supplementary methods. We used IVW and MR-Egger to test for heterogeneity, as well as MR-Egger intercepts to assess the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) potential level of multiplicity effects. Sensitivity analyses were conducted based on leave-one-out to identify potentially influential SNPs. All analyses were conducted by using the two-sample MR R package and were considered statistically significant when P<0.05.
RESULTS:
MR analysis showed the presence of TMD on insomnia (OR=1.089, 95%CI: 1.017-1.166, P=0.014). Meanwhile, no effect of insomnia on TMD (OR=0.996, 95%CI: 0.964-1.029, P=0.816) was found. The sensitivity-analysis showed that no heterogeneity existed (P>0.05), and the presence of horizontal pleiotropy was not detected (P>0.05). Leave-one-out sensitivity analysis showed no single SNP, which may affect the causal relation. All findings indicated that the causal relationship between TMD and insomnia was not significantly affected by any individual SNP and that IV did not bias the results.
CONCLUSIONS
Results of MR analyses showed that TMD is a risk factor for insomnia, whereas insomnia is not a risk factor for TMD.

Space Medicine & Medical Engineering 2025;36(1):38-42
Objective To investigate the effects of simulated-microgravity on the osteogenic differentiation, primary cilia status, cytoskeleton structure, and the YAP(Yes-associated protein)expression in primary osteoblasts. Methods Primary osteoblasts were isolated from the skull bones of neonatal Wistar rats and cultured in random positioning machine system to simulate the cellular effects of microgravity. The calcified nodules were stained with Arlizarin to assess the cellular mineralization ability, the primary cilia and cytoskeleton were detected by immunofluorescence staining of Arl13b/γ-Tubulin and α-Tubulin,respectively,and the expression of YAP was measured by western blot. Results The cellular osteogenic differentiation were markedly suppressed after treated with simulated microgravity for 24 h,and the ciliated cells decreased from(58.44±3.65)%to(15.76±1.84)%in parallel with a decline of average cilium length from(3.19±0.51)μm to(1.59±0.46)μm.In addition, simulated microgravity induced disassembly of microtubules.Notably, simulated microgravity interfered YAP expression and the inhibition of YAP into nucleus.Furthermore, knockdown of YAP expression in osteoblasts notably reduced primary cilia expression and inhibited osteogenic differentiation. Conclusion Primary cilia is a key organelle of osteoblasts in sensing microgravity and regulating osteogenic differentiation.Interference with YAP expression and inhibition of nuclear YAP entry may play an important role in the deaggregation of primary cilia induced by microgravity.
