Objective To introduce the causes of accidents and the diagnosis and treatment of two patients with radiation-induced skin injury admitted to our hospital in 2023, and to provide a reference for the clinical treatment of subsequent radiation-induced skin injury. Methods The clinical treatment process of two patients with acute skin injury caused by external radiation exposure were summarized and analyzed. Results The exposure history of the two patients was reconstructed, the flaw detection scenario was simulated, the biological dose and hand skin exposure dose were estimated, and the infrared thermal imaging device was used for dynamic monitoring. A comprehensive analysis was conducted based on clinical manifestations and other data. The diagnosis of “Xie” was excessive exposure combined with acute radiation-induced skin injury on both hands (Grade IV for the right hand palm, index finger, and middle finger and Grade II for the left hand little finger). The diagnosis of “Hao” was acute radiation-induced skin injury on both hands (Grade I). The two patients received different clinical treatment measures: “Xie” was treated with both local and systemic therapies, while “Hao” was mainly treated with systemic therapy. Conclusion After systematic and effective treatment, the radiation-induced skin injuries healed in both patients.

[Objective] To determine the correlation between traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) inspection of spirit classification and the severity grade of depression based on facial features, offering insights for intelligent intergrated TCM and western medicine diagnosis of depression. [Methods] Using the Audio-Visual Emotion Challenge and Workshop (AVEC 2014) public dataset on depression, which conclude 150 interview videos, the samples were classified according to the TCM inspection of spirit classification: Deshen (得神, presence of spirit), Shaoshen (少神, insufficiency of spirit), and Shenluan (神乱, confusion of spirit). Meanwhile, based on Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) score for the severity grade of depression, the samples were divided into minimal (0 – 13, Q1), mild (14 – 19, Q2), moderate (20 – 28, Q3), and severe (29 – 63, Q4). Sixty-eight landmarks were extracted with a ResNet-50 network, and the feature extracion mode was stadardized. Random forest and support vectior machine (SVM) classifiers were used to predict TCM inspection of spirit classification and the severity grade of depression, respectively. A Chi-square test and Apriori association rule mining were then applied to quantify and explore the relationships. [Results] The analysis revealed a statistically significant and moderately strong association between TCM spirit classification and the severity grade of depression, as confirmed by a Chi-square test (χ2 = 14.04, P = 0.029) with a Cramer’s V effect size of 0.243. Further exploration using association rule mining identified the most compelling rule: “moderate depression (Q3) → Shenluan”. This rule demonstrated a support level of 5%, indicating this specific co-occurrence was present in 5% of the cohort. Crucially, it achieved a high Confidence of 86%, meaning that among patients diagnosed with Q3, 86% exhibited the Shenluan pattern according to TCM assessment. The substantial Lift of 2.37 signifies that the observed likelihood of Shenluan manifesting in Q3 patients is 2.37 times higher than would be expected by chance if these states were independent—compelling evidence of a highly non-random association. Consequently, Shenluan emerges as a distinct and core TCM diagnostic manifestation strongly linked to Q3, forming a clinically significant phenotype within this patient subgroup. [Conclusion] Automated facial analysis can serve as a common lens for TCM and western psychological assessments align in the diagnosis of depression. The inspection of spirit decline trajectory parallels worsening depression, supporting early screening and stratified intervention, and providing a reference for the intelligent assistance of integrated TCM and western medicine in the diagnosis of depression.

Objective:
To investigate treatment strategies for chronic periapical periodontitis in prematurely erupted premolars and provide guidance for managing pulp and periapical diseases in young permanent teeth with immature roots.
Methods:
A regenerative endodontic procedure (REP) was performed on a prematurely erupted maxillary left first premolar (tooth 24) at Nolla stage Ⅶ with chronic apical periodontitis, following standardized protocols including root canal irrigation, disinfection, and coronal sealing. The case was followed up, and a literature review was conducted.
Results:
Clinical resolution of symptoms was observed on tooth 24, with sustained root development. After a 20-month follow-up, the tooth had restored biological function. Literature synthesis revealed that periapical infections in prematurely erupted permanent teeth predominently arise from pulp exposure and bacterial infection, with retrograde infection being rare. For young permanent teeth with necrotic pulp, regenerative endodontic procedures has been established as the treatment of choice to promote apical closure and root maturation. The critical steps of regenerative endodontic procedures include thorough disinfection, induced bleeding to form a fibrin scaffold, and coronal sealing to facilitate stem cell recruitment and differentiation.
Conclusion
Regenerative endodontic procedures represents an effective and viable treatment option for prematurely erupted young permanent teeth with chronic periapical periodontitis.

Objective:To investigate the effects of a single intravenous injection of low-dose esketamine during cesarean section on postpartum depression in primiparas. Methods:This study is a prospective randomized controlled trial involving 106 primiparas who underwent scheduled intrathecal anesthesia for cesarean section at Xi'an International Medical Center Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023. The participants were randomly assigned to either the control group or the observation group, with 53 women in each group, using a random number table method. Both groups received the same type and method of anesthesia. In the observation group, 5 minutes after the delivery of the fetus and the clamping of the umbilical cord, a low dose of esketamine (0.2 mg/kg, dissolved in 10 mL of 0.9% sodium chloride injection) was administered intravenously. The control group received an equivalent volume of 0.9% sodium chloride injection as a placebo. The score of the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale at various postpartum time intervals (3, 7, 14, 30, and 42 days), the incidence of postpartum depression, and any adverse drug reactions occurring within 3 days postoperatively were compared between the two groups. Additionally, the score of the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for contraction pain was assessed. Results:The scores of the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale in the observation group at 3, 7, 14, 30, and 42 days postpartum were (6.23 ± 1.21), (5.82 ± 1.77), (6.14 ± 1.20), (5.33 ± 1.19), and (6.01 ± 1.23), respectively. These scores were significantly lower than those in the control group [(8.99 ± 1.28), (8.91 ± 2.11), (9.03 ± 1.94), (10.40 ± 2.68), (9.28 ± 1.84), t = 11.40, 8.16, 9.22, 12.58, 10.75, all P < 0.001]. The incidence of postpartum depression in the observation group at 7 and 14 days postpartum was significantly lower than that in the control group [3.77% (2/53) vs. 16.98% (9/53), 3.77% (2/53) vs. 15.09% (8/53), χ2 = 4.97, 3.97, P = 0.026, 0.046]. There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse drug reactions within 3 days postoperatively between the two groups of women who underwent scheduled intrathecal anesthesia for cesarean section [15.09% (8/53) vs. 11.32% (6/53), χ2 = 0.32, P = 0.566]. The scores of the Visual Analog Scale for contraction pain in the observation group at 3, 6, 12, and 24 hours postoperatively were (2.13 ± 0.28), (2.55 ± 0.33), (2.73 ± 0.35), and (3.06 ± 0.37), respectively. These scores were significantly lower than those in the control group [(4.35 ± 0.46), (5.43 ± 0.36), (5.68 ± 0.35), (5.26 ± 0.43), t = 30.01, 42.93, 43.38, 28.23, all P < 0.001]. Conclusions:A single intravenous injection of low-dose esketamine during cesarean section can effectively alleviate emotional distress in primiparas in the short term after surgery, which has significant clinical implications for reducing the incidence of postpartum depression.
