Pain modulation encompasses a complex neurobiological process, in which the lateral habenula (LHb) plays a crucial role in integrating, regulating and modulating pain signals. It is also involved in pain-related memory functions associated with perception, transmission and regulation of pain. Furthermore, the LHb collaborates with structures such as the spinal dorsal horn, forebrain, and amygdala to form an essential neural circuit that contributes to sensitization, development of tolerance, and adaptation processes related to pain. However, there remains limited understanding regarding the specific roles and interactions among different neuron subtypes within the LHb concerning pain regulation. Additionally, further investigation is warranted to explore functional changes and plasticity within both the LHb and its associated neural circuits in chronic pain models. Future research endeavors should utilize advanced neuroimaging techniques alongside optogenetics and gene editing technologies to elucidate intricate neural circuits, cellular architecture, and molecular mechanisms governing LHb function in pain regulation. In conclusion, this paper aims to comprehensively review existing literature on the involvement of the LHb and its neural circuits in modulating pain, thereby enhancing our understanding of their neurobiological mechanisms while providing novel targets for precise therapeutic strategies aimed at alleviating pain.

Objective:The aim of this study is to investigate the main active substances of Qilin pills by high performance liq-uid chromatogre-electrostatic field orbitrap mass spectrometry(HPLC-Q-Orbitrap/MS),and explore the mechanism of its action in the treatment of asthenozoospermia by combining network pharmacology and molecular docking.Methods:(1)Qilin pills were quantita-tively and qualitatively analyzed by HPLC-Q-Orbitrap/MS.(2)The top 100 compounds in Qilin pills were screened by content analy-sis and SwissADME,and their targets were predicted. The asthenozoospermia targets were searched through the database. And a"pro-tein-protein interaction"(PPI)network was constructed.KEGG and GO analysis was performed using the DAVID database. And a"drug-target-pathway"network was constructed.(3)SailVina was used for molecular docking.Results:(1)A total of 1 275 known components were found and ranked in Qilin pills by HPLC-Q-Orbitrap/MS analysis.(2)The top 100 compounds in Qilin pills predicted a total of 1 053 targets and 184 potential therapeutic targets for asthenozoospermia.KEGG pathway analysis and GO analysis showed that the treatment of asthenozoospermia by Qilin pills may be related to the steroid hormone synthesis pathway, the response to steroid hormones, the chromosomal region of cells and the activity of steroid hydroxylase. The mechanism of Qilin pills in treating as-thenozoospermia may be related to regulating the synthesis, metabolism and reaction process of sex hormone in the body.(3)The mo-lecular docking results of its key targets(CYP19A1,ESR1,HSP90AA1,p53,HIF1α and BCL2)showed that the key active ingredi-ents M030,M039,M043,M050,M055 and M073 of Qilin pills had spontaneous binding. It had a binding energy of less than-5 kJ/mol.Conclusion:The material basis of Qilin pills has been explored by this study. And the mechanism of action of Qilin pills in the treatment of asthenozoospermia is highly bound to the expression and response process of steroid hormones, which provides a theoretical basis for the clinical application of Qilin pills.

Objective To investigate the mechanism of Ginkgo biloba extracts(GB)in the treatment of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion(CIR)injury based on network pharmacology and animal experiments. Methods The intersection targets of CIR and GB were obtained from TCMSP,GeneCards and other databases.Cytoscape software and Metascape database were used to analyze and map the related targets. The model of transient middle cerebral arterial occlusion(t-MCAO)was constructed in mice by suture method, and the effects of GB on the neurological function of mice after t-MCAO were observed by the neurological deficit score and Morris water maze test.HE staining was used to observe the pathological structural changes of neuron in the hippocampus of mice, and Western blot was used to verify the signal pathways screened by network pharmacology. Results Network pharmacology predicted that GB contained 33 active ingredients, and 116 potential targets of GB in treatment of CIR included Caspase3,Bax,etc.In addition,GB may play a protective role through signaling pathways such as PI3K-Akt and AMPK.Animal experiments showed that GB treatment could significantly improve the neural function and learning spatial memory ability of mice, alleviate the brain histopathological injury, and activate p-Akt/Akt signaling pathway. Conclusion GB has the characteristics of multi-target and multi-pathways therapy for CIR,which may reduce neuronal apoptosis by activating the p-Akt/Akt signaling pathway.

Objective:To explore the family function of childbearing period cervical cancer patients and their caregivers based on the McMaster Family Functioning Theory, providing a reference for developing scientific and effective family support programs. Methods:This qualitative study employed a purposive sampling method to recruit 15 pairs of childbearing period cervical cancer patients and their caregivers from Wuxi Maternity and Child Health Hospital between March and April 2024. Face-to-face semi-structured interviews were conducted, and data were analyzed using Colaizzi's seven-step method to extract themes. Results:A total of five main themes were identified: role transitions and family structure changes; alterations in family interaction dynamics; evolving caregiving needs and distress; emotional disengagement in disease experiences among family members; family behavioral isolation. Conclusions:The cancer diagnosis posed threats to all six dimensions of family function (role distribution, problem-solving, communication, emotional involvement, emotional responsiveness, and behavioral control). Clinical practitioners should pay close attention to the family functioning of childbearing period cervical cancer patients and develop patient- and caregiver-centered family function intervention programs to help them better cope with the disease and improve clinical outcomes.

Objective To explore the relationship between community health follow-up management and the mental health of the long-term care insurance residents, and to provide a basis for the construction of an integrated community home care service mode for disabled elders. Methods The residents were selected through cluster sampling who participated in LTCI home care from Jan 1 to Dec 31,2021.After a year of participation, the subjects'mental health was assessed face-to-face by trained community doctors using the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale and the Self-Rating Depression Scale.By referring to residents'electronic health records combined with on-site questionnaire survey, community doctors collected the demographic information and health follow-up management provided by primary medical and health institutions. The multivariate logistic regression were conducted to evaluate the association between follow-up care and mental health outcomes. Results The study consisted of 399 LTCI-enrolled individuals,57.64%(n=230)received follow-up care by family physicians. The prevalence of anxiety and depression among participants was 19.80%(n=79)and 67.67%(n=270),respectively.Univariate analysis found that community health follow-up management could underscore the potential impact of follow-up care in mitigating anxiety(χ2=38.926,P<0.001)and depression(χ2=14.598,P<0.001)among LTCI enrollees.Multivariate analysis revealed that follow-up care was an independent protective factor against anxiety(adjusted OR=0.351,95%CI:0.176-0.701,P=0.003).However,follow-up care did not significantly impact depression prevalence.Additionally,LTCI grade and education level were also identified factors influencing the mental health of participants(P<0.05).Conclusion Community health service centers provide health follow-up management that plays a positive role in alleviating the anxiety symptoms of disabled residents under long-term care insurance home care.It is an effective way to improve the quality of LTCI home care services.
