Aluminum adjuvants are widely used in the field of vaccines due to their ability to induce efficient and long-lasting immune responses and good safety profile. With the development of immunology, the requirements for adjuvants have gradually increased, and traditional aluminum adjuvants can no longer meet all the needs of application. The development of novel aluminum adjuvants has become a hot research topic in order to achieve good immunity-enhancing effects and induce specific types and strengths of immune responses. This review briefly introduces the mechanism of action and safety of aluminum adjuvants, with focus on the research progress of novel aluminum adjuvants in recent years, mainly including nano-aluminum adjuvants and composite aluminum adjuvants (aluminum adjuvants compounded with immunity-stimulating molecules or delivery carriers), and a prospect of their future research direction, aiming to provide some reference for the further development and clinical application of aluminum adjuvants.

Objective:To explore the impact of a three-dimensional management based on a perinatal one-day clinic on pregnancy outcomes in overweight and obese pregnant women. Methods:It was a randomized controlled trial. A simple random sampling method was used to select 460 singleton pregnant women with a pre-pregnancy body mass index≥24 kg/m2 who had regular prenatal check-ups at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Center of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from June 1, 2018, to December 31, 2022. The women were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group (230 cases each) using a computer-generated random number table. The control group received regular prenatal check-ups according to the pregnancy care guidelines (once every 4 weeks during mid-pregnancy, once every 2 weeks during late pregnancy, with additional frequency as needed based on the condition). The control group also received a one-time body composition analysis and dietary guidance from a nutritionist at the time of registration. In addition to the control group′s interventions, the experimental group received three-dimensional management based on a perinatal one-day clinic. It included an intensive one-day clinic session, a traditional plus internet-based re-education model (as needed based on the condition), individualized guidance from obstetrics and clinical nutrition clinics (once every 2 weeks), a free body composition test at 24 weeks of pregnancy, and weekly WeChat group push of health care knowledge during pregnancy. A total of 55 cases dropped out, leaving 200 cases in the experimental group and 205 cases in the control group for analysis. General information, pregnancy-related, and postpartum indicators were collected in the two groups. The effect of three-dimensional management based on a perinatal one-day clinic on pregnancy outcomes in overweight and obese pregnant women was analyzed using t-tests and chi-square tests. Results:There was no significant differences in baseline age, pre-pregnancy body mass index, initial blood glucose, initial glycated hemoglobin, or initial gestational age between the two groups (all P>0.05). The experimental group showed significantly lower gestational weight gain, neonatal weight, and proportion of excessive pregnancy weight gain compared to those in the control group [(11.41±5.23) vs (13.22±4.51) kg, (3 352.1±465.3) vs (3 489.5±464.0) g, 48.00% vs 73.17%] (all P<0.05). There were no significant differences in hospitalization days, gestational age at delivery, incidence of gestational diabetes, incidence of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, incidence of premature rupture of membranes, incidence of preterm birth, incidence of macrosomia, vaginal delivery rate and rate of neonatal transfer to the pediatric department between the two groups (all P>0.05). Conclusion:Early intervention with the three-dimensional management based on the one-day perinatal clinic can effectively control gestational weight gain and neonatal weight in overweight and obese pregnant women.

Objective:To learn about the levels of 25-hydroxy vitamin D (25-OH VD), TBNK lymphocyte subsets, and cytokines in peripheral blood of patients with brucellosis. Methods:A prospective design was adopted, one hundred patients with brucellosis admitted to the Department of Infectious Diseases, Beidahuang Industry Group General Hospital from May 2024 to February 2025 were selected as the brucellosis group, and one hundred healthy individuals who underwent physical examinations at the hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. The peripheral blood 25-OH VD levels were detected by chemiluminescence method. Further, 100 patients with brucellosis were divided into a brucellosis combined with osteoarthritis group (74 cases) and a brucellosis without osteoarthritis group (26 cases). Flow cytometry was used to detect the counts of peripheral blood TBNK lymphocyte subsets and cytokine levels. Meanwhile, Spearman rank correlation was used to analyze the correlation between peripheral blood 25-OH VD levels and TBNK lymphocyte subsets counts as well as cytokine levels in patients with brucellosis complicated by osteoarthritis. Results:The peripheral blood 25-OH VD level in the brucellosis group [20.31 (15.74, 24.35) ng/ml] was significantly lower than that of the control group [25.18 (21.13, 29.59) ng/ml], and the difference was statistically significant ( Z = - 5.07, P < 0.001). The peripheral blood 25-OH VD level [18.05 (13.79, 23.74) vs 22.43 (19.93, 28.25) ng/ml], CD4 + T cell count [(860 ± 275) vs (1 036 ± 376) cells/μl], and interleukin (IL)-6 levels [4.17 (2.14, 9.41) vs 7.83 (5.97, 11.34) ng/L] in the brucellosis combined with osteoarthritis group were significantly lower than those in the brucellosis without osteoarthritis group ( Z/t = - 2.88, 2.20, - 2.85, P = 0.004, 0.035, 0.004). Correlation analysis showed that the peripheral blood 25-OH VD level in patients with brucellosis complicated by osteoarthritis was positively correlated with the counts of CD45 +, CD3 + T, CD4 + T, CD8 + T, and natural killer cells ( r = 0.31, 0.26, 0.25, 0.25, 0.25, P = 0.007, 0.027, 0.032, 0.031, 0.032), and negatively correlated with IL-17A level ( r = - 0.40, P < 0.001). Conclusion:Patients with brucellosis have insufficient 25-OH VD, and those with osteoarthritis have lower 25-OH VD level, CD4 + T cell count, and IL-6 level than those without osteoarthritis.
