Lung cancer is a serious pulmonary tumor,with exacerbation of chronic lung inflammation being a precursor to the development of lung cancer.Relevant animal models are widely used in experimental research,to gain a deeper understanding of the pathogenesis of lung cancer and to develop preventive treatment strategies.Induced lung cancer animal models are of particular importance for understanding the transition from chronic lung inflammation to lung cancer.Early intervention is crucial for the prevention and treatment of lung cancer.Here we review the recent literature regarding the inducing factors for lung cancer,including carcinogens(e.g.nicotine-derived nitrosamine ketone,benzopyrene,diethylnirtosamine atmospheric fine particulate matter(PM2.5),coal smoke,heavy metal ions,radiation,and biological infections).We also summarize animal models of lung inflammation and cancer transformation induced by these factors,discuss the mechanisms by which relevant carcinogens induce lung cancer,analyze the advantages and limitations of the animal models,and consider future development directions.This review aims is to provide a valuable reference for the future establishment of relevant models.

BACKGROUND: The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection posed a huge threat and burden to public healthcare in late 2022. Non-drug measures of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), such as acupuncture, cupping and moxibustion, are commonly used as adjuncts in China to help in severe cases, but their effects remain unclear. OBJECTIVES: To observe the clinical effect of TCM non-drug measures in improving respiratory function and symptoms among patients with severe COVID-19. DESIGN, SETTING, PARTICIPANTS AND INTERVENTIONS: This study was designed as a multicenter, assessor-blind, randomized controlled trial. Hospitalized patients with COVID-19 were randomly assigned to the treatment or control group. The treatment group received individualized TCM non-drug measures in combination with prone position ventilation, while the control group received prone position ventilation only for 5 consecutive days. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The primary outcome measures were the percentage of patients with improved oxygen saturation (SpO₂) at the end of the 5-day intervention, as well as changes of patients' respiratory rates. The secondary outcome measures included changes in SpO₂ and total score on the self-made respiratory symptom scale. The improvement rate, defined as a 3-day consecutive increase in SpO₂, the duration of prone positioning, and adverse events were recorded as well. RESULTS: Among the 198 patients included in the intention-to-treat analysis, 159 (80.3%) completed all assessments on day 5, and 39 (19.7%) patients withdrew from the study. At the end of the intervention, 71 (91%) patients in the treatment group had SpO₂ above 93%, while 61 (75.3%) in the control group reached this level. The proportion of participant with improved SpO₂ was significantly greater in the intervention group (mean difference [MD] = 15.7; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 4.4, 27.1; P = 0.008). Compared to the baseline, with daily treatment there were significant daily decreases in respiratory rates in both groups, but no statistical differences between groups were found (all P ≥ 0.05). Compared to the control group, the respiratory-related symptoms score was lower among patients in the treatment group (MD = -1.7; 95% CI: -2.8, -0.5; P = 0.008) after day 3 of treatment. A gradual decrease in the total scores of both groups was also observed. Thirty-one adverse events occurred during the intervention, and 2 patients were transferred to the intensive care unit due to deterioration of their illness. CONCLUSION: TCM non-drug measures combined with prone positioning can effectively treat patients with severe COVID-19. The combined therapy significantly increased SpO₂ and improved symptom scores compared to prone positioning alone, thus improving the patients' respiratory function to help them recover. Objective:To investigate the iodine nutritional status of pregnant women in Hangzhou City and analyze its influencing factors, in order to provide a basis for guiding pregnant women in Hangzhou City to supplement iodine scientifically.Methods:A stratified random sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on 1 400 pregnant women in Hangzhou City from March to October 2018. Random urine samples and household salt samples from pregnant women were collected, and the levels of urine iodine and salt iodine were measured using arsenic cerium catalytic spectrophotometry and direct titration, respectively. The iodine nutritional status of pregnant women with different basic characteristics and dietary levels were analyzed and compared (Kruskal-Wallis test), and the main influencing factors affecting the urinary iodine concentration level of pregnant women were identified (the ordinal multiple classification logistic regression analysis).Results:The median urinary iodine of pregnant women was 135.00 μg/L, and the qualified iodized salt consumption rate of pregnant women was 83.36% (1 167/1 400). In terms of basic characteristics, there were statistically significant differences in the distribution level of urine iodine among pregnant women with different pregnancy frequency, delivery frequency, and natural abortion frequency ( P < 0.05). In terms of diet, the frequency of consuming milk, yogurt, meat, and whether pregnant women consumed cabbage and cauliflower showed statistically significant differences in urinary iodine distribution levels ( P < 0.05). Ordinal multiple classification logistic regression analysis showed that the urine iodine levels of pregnant women who were pregnant twice were higher than those who were pregnant ≥3 times ( OR = 1.64, P = 0.003). Pregnant women who never or occasionally consumed yogurt had lower urine iodine levels than or equal to those who consumed 2 bottles of yogurt per day ( OR = 0.53, P = 0.044). Pregnant women who never or occasionally consumed meat and those who consumed meat once a week had higher urinary iodine levels than that who consumed meat ≥2 times per week ( OR = 1.40, 1.47, P < 0.05). Conclusions:The overall iodine nutrition of pregnant women in Hangzhou City is at an deficiency level. Pregnancy experience and dietary level are influencing factors on iodine nutrition of pregnant women. It is necessary to carry out in-depth health education for pregnant women, improve the dietary structure during pregnancy, and improve the abnormal iodine nutrition of pregnant women.

Objective To investigate the clinical features in children with invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) and early warning indicators of severe case.Methods The case data of 101 children inpatients with IPD isolated Streptococcus pneumoniae (Sp) at least once blood culture in this hospital from January 2007 to De-cember 2021 were collected retrospectively.The children patients were divided into the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) group (35 cases) and general ward group (66 cases) according to whether or not entering PICU during hospitalization.The general clinical data,infection types and results of drug sensitivity test and bacteri-al strain serotype identification were compared between the two groups and analyzed.Results Compared with the general ward group,the male proportion,proportions of complicating nervous system disease and iron-defi-ciency anemia,winter incidence rate,disturbance of consciousness,convulsion,dyspnea,heart rate increase,oc-currence rate of vomiting and diarrhea,proportion of peripheral blood neutrophilic granulocytes,C reactive protein (CRP),lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) level,Hb<90 g/L,LDH>700 U/L,creatine kinase isoenzyme-MB (CK-MB) abnomality,proportions of bacterial meningitis,sepsis and severe pneumonia in the PICU group were higher,the proportion of 3-97 percentile of body weight,bronchopneumonia and no-focus blood stream infection were lower,WBC,Hb and albumin level were lower,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Eleven kinds of serotypes were identified in this study,ranking the top five in order were 6B,14,19F,23F and 19A.Pneumococcal 13-valent conjugate vaccine (PCV13) could cover 96.9％ of the IPD sero-types.The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that consciousness disturbance,convulsion,per-centage of neutrophils increase,Hb<90 g/L,LDH>700 U/L and CK-MB abnormality indicated the condition of IPD children patients was critical,which was the early-warning indicator of entering PICU (P<0.05).Con-clusion Severe IPD lacks the early specific early-warning indicator,and the cover rate of PCV13 is high.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of intravitreal ranibizumab combined with laser (IVR+ Laser) and the intravitreal ranibizumab (IVR) monotherapy for the treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME).Methods:A meta-analysis was conducted on randomized controlled trial (RCT) literature related to IVR+ Laser therapy and IVR alone for DME.Databases including Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMbase, Web of Science, SinoMed, CNKI, VIP and WanFang Data were searched from their inception to April 2022.Literature screening, data extraction, quality evaluation and cross-checking were conducted independently by two researchers according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.Then a meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.4.1 software.The two therapies were compared in terms of best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central macular thickness (CMT), mean number of injections and adverse events.Results:Twelve RCTs involving 1 695 eyes were included in the study.Meta-analysis showed that at the end of follow-up, IVR+ Laser demonstrated better improvement in BCVA and CMT than IVR alone, and there were significant differences in the changes in BCVA and CMT between the two groups (weighted mean difference[WMD]=-0.66, 95% confidence interval[ CI]: -1.11--0.21, P<0.01; WMD=-5.05, 95% CI: -9.21--0.89, P=0.02).IVR+ Laser required significantly fewer injections than IVR alone (WMD=-1.16, 95% CI: -2.07--0.25, P=0.01).There were no significant differences in the adverse events incidence between the two therapies (all at P>0.05). Conclusions:The safety of IVR+ Laser is comparable to IVR alone, and it requires fewer injections for the treatment of DME.

Objective:To screen plasma exosomal protein molecular markers in patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) by applying Label-Free quantification and bioinformatics analysis.Methods:Fifty plasma specimens from the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University (from January 2021 to June 2022) were collected from SCI patients and healthy people, respectively. Plasma exosomes were isolated using ultracentrifugation and identified by transmission electron microscopy, nanoparticle tracking analysis and western blot. Plasma exosomal differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) were analyzed using Label-Free quantitative proteomics, and DEPs were characterized, annotated, and enriched based on Gene Ontology (GO) and kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) databases. The screened DEPs were validated by western blot and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) using plasma exosomal specimens.Results:According to the spinal cord injury classification of the American Spinal Injury Association, 14 cases were grade A, 19 cases were grade B, 12 cases were grade C, and 5 cases were grade D. Plasma exosomes of SCI patients and control groups showed typical cup-like morphology, with diameters mainly ranging from 30-200 nm. A total of 493 exosomal proteins were identified by Label-Free quantification, and 126 proteins were screened for differential expression, of which 38 were up-regulated and 88 were down-regulated. GO annotation revealed that DEPs were mainly involved in functions such as protein activation cascade, complement activation and immune response. KEGG pathway analysis revealed that DEPs were involved in biological pathways such as complement and coagulation cascade reactions, proteasome and neurodegenerative disease pathways. Two candidate proteins, APOB and S100A9, were initially screened based on quantitative results from proteomics and bioinformatics analyses. Western blot results showed that the relative expression of S100A9 protein in plasma exosomes of 30 SCI patients (1.62±0.19) was elevated compared with that of 30 control groups (0.86±0.24), and the difference was statistically significant ( t=8.55, P<0.001), while the relative expression of APOB protein (1.06±0.13 and 1.02±0.23) were not statistically significant ( t=0.46, P=0.653). The results of ELISA analysis showed that the expression of S100A9 in plasma exosomes of patients with different degrees of SCI (grade A 197.7±11.7 pg/ml, grade B 151.7±15.2 pg/ml, grade C 136.3±14.7 pg/ml) had statistical significance ( F=69.94, P<0.001), the higher the severity of SCI, the higher the expression of S100A9 in plasma exosomes (A vs. B, q=13.11, P<0.001; A vs. C, q=15.66, P<0.001; B vs. C, q=4.19, P=0.005). Conclusion:S100A9 is a potentially valid plasma exosomal molecular marker for assessing the severity of SCI.

OBJECTIVE To prepare and evalu ate doxorubicin-loaded red blood cell membrane chitosan-targeted nanoparticles of targeting tumor cell folate acid （FA）receptor（FA-RBC-DOX-CS-NPs）. METHODS Doxorubicin-loaded chitosan nanoparticles （DOX-CS-NPs） were prepared by ion cross-linking method. FA and amino polyethylene glycol phospholithin （NH2- PEG2000-DSPE）were covalently linked to modify the red blood cell membrane to construct FA-RBC-DOX-CS-NPS. FA-RBC- DOX-CS-NPs were characterized and investigated on in vitro drug release characteristics ，antitumor activity and endocytosis ability （investigation with human breast cancer MCF- 7 cells）. RESULTS Average particle size of FA-RBC-DOX-CS-NPs was （254.200± 2.651）nm，and polydispersity index was 0.199±0.031；Zeta potential was （－10.100±0.213）mV. FA-RBC-DOX-CS-NPs released fast in the tumor microenvironment （pH6.5）. Cellular experiments showed that ，the nanoparticles could inhibit the activity of MCF- 7 cell proliferation and improve the efficiency of endocytosis. CONCLUSIONS FA-RBC-DOX-CS-NPs are prepared successfully. The nanoparticles have good tumor cell targeting and endocytosis ability ，and can realize the enrichment of drugs in tumor cells.
