OBJECTIVE To analyze the differences in chemical components of Gardenia jasminoides before and after processing with ginger, and to evaluate the quality differences among different producing areas. METHODS Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem time-of-flight mass spectrometry was used to analyze the compositional differences of G. jasminoides before and after processing with ginger. The water content, total ash, and ethanol-soluble extract content of ginger- processed G. jasminoides were determined according to the 2020 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia. High performance liquid chromatography was adopted to determine the contents of genipin gentiobioside, geniposide, crocin Ⅰ and crocin Ⅱ in ginger- processed G. jasminoides. RESULTS A total of 49 chemical components were identified from raw G. jasminoides and ginger- processed G. jasminoides, including 14 flavonoids, 15 iridoids, 10 organic acids, 2 alkaloids and 8 other compounds. Among them, 42 components were detected in raw G. jasminoides, 28 in ginger-processed G. jasminoides, and 21 components were common to both. After processing with ginger, raw G. jasminoides lost 21 components (including iridoids, flavonoids, alkaloids, and others), while 7 chemical components were added (including coumarins, organic acids, organic acid esters, and flavonoids). For the 15 batches of ginger-processed G. jasminoides, the water content ranged from 5.64% to 7.11%, total ash from 2.92% to 4.87%, and ethanol-soluble extract from 40.61% to 58.02%. The average contents of genipin gentiobioside, geniposide, crocin Ⅰ and crocin Ⅱ were 0.108 7, 0.542 2, 0.565 0, and 0.012 5 mg/g, respectively. CONCLUSIONS After processing with ginger, G. jasminoides loses 21 components, while 7 new components are added. Differences are observed in the water content, total ash, ethanol-soluble extract, and the contents of genipin gentiobioside, geniposide, crocin Ⅰ, and crocin Ⅱ of ginger-processed G. jasminoides from different producing areas. Notably, samples from Fujian exhibit high contents of genipin gentiobioside and ethanol-soluble extract, while samples from Jiangxi have a high content of crocin Ⅰ.

Objective:To explore the application value of Jiedu Jiangtang Futan Decoction combined with acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction patients with diabetes(qi deficiency and blood stasis type). Methods:All pa-tients with acute cerebral infarction complicated with diabetes(type of qi deficiency and blood stasis)were treated in Hongdu Tradi-tional Chinese Medicine Hospital from October 2020 to September 2022 and randomly divided into two groups, with 69 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine, and the observation group was treated with Jiedu Jiangtang Futan Decoction and acupuncture and moxibustion, and the efficacy was compared after two weeks of treatment. Results:Compared with before treatment, the serum levels of superoxide dismutase(SOD),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)were increased in the two groups after treatment. The levels of serum matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9),IL-6,fasting blood glucose(FBG),2-hour postprandial glucose(2 h PG)and glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c)were decreased. The Barthel index(BI)was increased, and the modified Rankin score(mRS)and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)were decreased(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the levels of SOD,VEGF,BDNF and other indicators in the observation group were higher after treatment. The levels of MMP-9,IL-6,FBG,2 h PG and HbA1c were lower.BI was higher,mRS and NIHSS were lower, the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate in the observation group was 94.20%(65/69),higher than 84.06%(58/69)in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:For patients with acute cerebral infarction complicated with diabetes(type of qi deficiency and blood stasis),the combination of Jiedu Jiangtang Futan Decoction and acupuncture and moxi-bustion treatment is helpful to promote blood supply to the brain, correct the imbalance of oxidative stress, regulate blood sugar level and improve clinical efficacy.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of intermittent liver-nourishing and mind-regulating acupuncture in preventive treatment of migraine. Method One hundred and twenty migraine patients were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups, 60 cases each. The treatment group received intermittent liver-nourishing and mind-regulating acupuncture and the control group took flunarizine hydrochloride capsules orally. The migraine score, the visual analogue scale (VAS) score and the headache severity rating score were recorded in the subjects before treatment and at the end of treatment and the 4-week, 8-week, 12-week, 16-week and 20-week follow-ups. The Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) score and the Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) were recorded before and after treatment.Result After one course of treatment, the total efficacy rate was 98.3% in the treatment group and 89.5% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). There was a statistically significant difference in the migraine score between before treatment and at the end of treatment in the two groups (P<0.05) and between the two groups at the same follow-ups (P<0.05). There was a statistically significant difference in the VAS score between before treatment and at the end of treatment in the two groups (P<0.05) and between the two groups at the same follow-ups (P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the SAS and SDS scores between before treatment and at the end of treatment in the two groups (P<0.05) and between the two groups after treatment (P<0.05).Conclusion Intermittent liver-nourishing and mind-regulating acupuncture has marked efficacy in preventive treatment of migraine. It can increase the total efficacy rate and reduce the number of relapses.
