Acute lung injury(ALI) is a critical clinical condition primarily characterized by refractory hypoxemia and infiltration of inflammatory cells in lung tissue, which can progress into a more severe form known as acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS). Immune cells and inflammatory cytokines play important roles in the progression of the disease. Due to its unclear pathogenesis and the lack of effective clinical treatments, ALI is associated with a high mortality rate and severely affects patients' quality of life, making the search for effective therapeutic agents particularly urgent. Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, the dried root of the perennial herb Panax ginseng from the Araliaceae family, contains active ingredients such as saponins and polysaccharides, which possess various pharmacological effects including anti-tumor activity, immune regulation, and metabolic modulation. In recent years, studies have shown that ginsenosides exhibit notable effects in reducing inflammation, ameliorating epithelial and endothelial cell injury, and providing anticoagulant action, indicating their comprehensive role in alleviating lung injury. This review summarizes the pathogenesis of ALI and the molecular mechanisms through which ginsenosides act at different stages of ALI development. The aim is to provide a scientific reference for the development of ginsenoside-based drugs targeting ALI, as well as a theoretical basis for the clinical application of Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma in the treatment of ALI.

OBJECTIVE: Varied acupoint selections represent a potential cause of the uncertainty surrounding the efficacy of acupuncture for knee osteoarthritis (OA). Skin temperature, a guiding factor for acupoint selection, may help to address this issue. This study explored thermal sensitization of acupoints used for the treatment of knee OA. METHODS: This cross-sectional case-control study enrolled cases aged 45-75 years with symptomatic knee OA and age- and gender-matched non-knee OA controls in a 1:1 ratio. All participants underwent infrared thermographic imaging. The primary outcome was the relative skin temperature of acupoint (STA), and the secondary outcome was the absolute STA of 11 acupoints. The Z test was used to compare the relative and absolute STAs between the groups. Principal component analysis was used to extract the common factors (CFs, acupoint cluster) in the STAs. A general linear model was used to identify factors affecting the STA in the knee OA cases. For the group comparisons of relative STA, P < 0.0045 (adjusted for 11 acupoints through Bonferroni correction) was considered to indicate statistical significance. For other analyses, P < 0.05 was used as the threshold for statistical significance. RESULTS: The analysis included 308 participants, consisting of 151 cases (mean age: [64.58 ± 6.67] years; male: 25.83%; mean body mass index: [25.70 ± 3.16] kg/m²) and 157 controls (mean age: [63.37 ± 5.96] years; male: 26.11%; mean body mass index: [24.47 ± 2.84] kg/m²). The relative STAs of ST34 (P = 0.0001), EX-LE2 (P < 0.0001), EX-LE5 (P = 0.0006), SP10 (P < 0.0001), BL40 (P = 0.0012) and GB39 (P = 0.0037) were higher in the knee OA group. No difference was found in the STAs of ST35, ST36, SP9, GB33 and GB34. Four CFs were identified for relative STA in both groups. The acupoints within each CF were consistent between the groups. The mean values of the relative STAs across each CF were higher in the knee OA group. In the knee OA cases, no factors were observed to affect the relative STA, while age and gender were found to affect the absolute STA. CONCLUSION Among patients with knee OA, thermal sensitization occurs in the acupoints of the lower extremity, exhibiting localized and regional thermal consistencies. The thermally sensitized acupoints that we identified in this study, ST34, SP10, EX-LE2, EX-LE5, GB39 and BL40, may be good choices for the acupuncture treatment of knee OA. High mobility group box protein 1(HMGB1)is one of the most widely expressed protein member in the HMGs family,which is well known for its involvement in the body inflammatory response.Previous researches have found that it plays a significant role in cell migration,immune identification and neuroprotection.Spinal cord injury is a disease that causes severe damage to the nervous system,and neural circuits are disrupted after a spinal cord injury,which leads to many conditions including ischemia and hypoxia,inflammatory responses,demyelinating lesions,and glial scar formation that are detrimental to nerve regeneration and repair,making it one of the most difficult diseases to treat in the modern spinal surgery field.HMGB1 is upregulated after spinal cord injury,thereby regulating neuroinflam-matory responses,and participating in the neuronal apoptosis,promoting neuronal regeneration,and inducing neural stem cell differentiation and migration,which plays an important role in the process of neural function recovery.This paper summarizes the structure and function of HMGB1,as well as its role in spinal cord injury,in order to provide direction for founding therapeutic target for neurological function recovery after spinal cord injury.

The use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors （TKI） has been an important advance in the systemic treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma， but their sustained anti-angiogenic therapy leads to increased tumor hypoxia， accelerates the development of a hypoxic microenvironment and promotes the expressions of hypoxia-inducible factors （HIF）， thereby inducing drug resistance of tumor patients to TKI. This paper summarizes the mechanism of action of HIF mediating TKI resistance in hepatocellular carcinoma in aspects of metabolic reprogramming， abnormal expressions of cancer and cancer-associated genes， and ferroptosis， and sorts resistance response strategies to provide reference for clinical solutions to TKI resistance issues. As results show， HIF/ glycolysis axis inhibitors （isoflavonoid genistein， simvastatin， etc.） can improve TKI resistance based on metabolic reprogramming mechanism； oncogene-targeted inhibitors combined with TKI （the combination of capsaicin and sorafenib） can improve TKI resistance based on abnormal expression of cancer and cancer-related genes； fatty acid synthase inhibitor （orlistat） can improve TKI resistance based on ferroptosis mechanism.

Objective To explore the modal testing method for the three-axis manned centrifuge under elastic boundary conditions with considerations on its complicated structure and high rotational inertia.Methods Modal testing was carried out with a three-axis manned centrifuge under elastic boundary conditions as the subject and a force hammer as the excitation source according to GJB 2706A-2008 Modal tests method for spacecraft and GB/T 11349.3-1992 Experimental determination of mechnical mobility measurements using impact excitation.Four times of hammering were carried out at each excitation position,and the data of the four times of hammering underwent linear average computation.Data acquisition was implemented with a three-axis accelerometer and a 64-channel data collector,and the modal data were analyzed using a frequency response function based on the Test.Lab modal test and analysis software.Results The coherence coefficient of the excitation signal was not lower than 0.8 in the 30 Hz band;the first three orders of the system's intrinsic vibrations were all torsional vibrations,with the frequencies of 9.15,15.66 and 19.22 Hz,respectively;the first order frequency of the system was about 9.15 Hz for both Z18 and Z21 excitation positions,and each of the second and third order frequencies similar situations were observed for also had a roughly equal value for the two excitation positions.Conclusion The force hammer testing method is applicable for the modal testing of the three-axis manned centrifuge,ensuring equipment safety and subject comfort.Referen-ces are provided for the following structural optimization design.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2024,45(8):38-43]

Objective To design and implement a high-precision ear pulse wave physiological signal detection device for human centrifuge training to solve the problems in measurement and calibration of pilot ear pulse wave signal during human centrifuge training.Methods The high-precision ear pulse wave physiological signal detection device was composed of an ear pulse wave acquisition sensor,a signal acquisition and control unit and a host signal processing module.The ear pulse wave acquisition sensor had an ear-clip-like shape and consisted of an outer shell,an inner shell and an elastic steel plate;the signal acquisition and control unit was made up of an power supply module,a constant voltage module for the light source,a signal acquisition module,a master control module and a data transmission module,which had its software developed with an embedded system;the host signal processing module divided the signal processing into 2 phases of signal pre-processing and pulse wave signal monitoring and display.The detection performance of the device was verified by using a physiological electrical signal calibrator to test the ear pulse wave signals detected with the device;the effectiveness and stability of the device were validated by implementing human centrifuge training experiments with different loads.Results The voltage measurement error,amplitude-frequency characteristics and common mode rejection ratio detected by this device were all within the permitted ranges of JJG 760-2003 Verification Regulation for Electro Cardiac Monitor and JJG 954-2019 Verification Regulation of Digital Electroencephalographs;the device was capable of detecting the ear pulse wave signals of pilot during human centrifuge training in real time with little interference from motion and stable signal quality.Conclusion The device can accurately clarify the changes in the amplitude of the pilot's ear pulse wave during human centrifuge training and effectively reflect the changes in the pilot's cerebral blood flow under positive acceleration.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2024,45(9):35-40]

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of self-made Rheumatoid No.2 Formula(derived from Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction with Spatholobi Caulis,Tinosporae sinensis Caulis,Guangdong Piperis Kadsurae Caulis,Chaenomelis Fructus,etc.added)combined with Barrettinib and Methotrexate for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis(RA)of cold-damp obstruction type.Methods Sixty patients with RA of cold-damp obstruction type were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group,with 30 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Baritinib and Methotrexate orally,and the observation group was treated with self-made Rheumatoid No.2 Formula orally on the basis of treatment for the control group.The course of treatment covered 8 weeks.The changes of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome score,pain visual analogue scale(VAS)score,erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),serum C-reactive protein(CRP),rheumatoid factor(RF),anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody(anti-CCP)and other related laboratory indicators in the two groups before and after treatment were observed.After treatment,the clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated.Results(1)After 8 weeks of treatment,the total effective rate of the observation group was 93.33％(28/30),and that of the control group was 70.00％(21/30).The intergroup comparison(tested by chi-square test)showed that the efficacy of the observation group was significantly superior to that of the control group(P＜0.05).(2)After treatment,the scores of TCM syndromes in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01),and the decrease in the observation group was significantly superior to that in the control group(P＜0.01).(3)After treatment,the VAS scores of pain in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P＜0.01),and the decrease in the observation group was significantly superior to that in the control group(P＜0.01).(4)After treatment,the levels of related laboratory indicators of ESR and serum CRP,RF and anti-CCP in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05),and the decrease in the observation group was significantly superior to that in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion The self-made Rheumatoid No.2 Formula combined with Baritinib and Methotrexate exerts certain effect for the treatment of RA of cold-damp obstruction type,which can effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms and signs of patients and improve the relevant laboratory indexes of patients.Its curative effect is superior to that of western medicine of Baritinib and Methotrexate.
