Objective To understand the status of body image disturbance and its influencing factors in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS), so as to provide a scientific basis for the clinical management of AS. Methods A total of 353 AS patients admitted from January 2022 to December 2024 were selected as research subjects. Chinese version of Body Image Disturbance Questionnaire (BIDQ) was used to investigate the body image disturbance in AS patients. Single factor analysis was performed by t test and analysis of variance, and multiple factors were analyzed by multivariate linear regression. Results The total score of BIDQ in 342 AS patients was (25.01±4.22). Multivariate linear regression analysis results showed that self-paid medical expense, nighttime VAS score and negative emotion PANAS score could positively predict body image disturbance in AS patients (standardized regression coefficient=0.413, 0.413, 0.460, P<0.05), and PSSS score, positive emotion PANAS score and exercise management CDSSM score could negatively predict body image disturbance (standardized regression coefficient=-0.245, -0.134, -0.247, P<0.05). Conclusion The body image disturbance in AS patients is worthy of clinical attention. Nighttime pain, negative emotion and self-paid medical treatment can increase the risk of body image disturbance. Positive emotion, social support and high self-management level of exercise behavior can reduce the formation of body image disturbance, which can provide new ideas for clinical management of AS patients.

Objective To analyze the prevalence status of cardiometabolic risk factor (CMRF) and its aggregation among workers engaged in new forms of employment. Methods A total of 5 429 new employment workers (including couriers, online food delivery workers, and ride hailing drivers) who underwent health medical examinations at a tertiary hospital in Beijing City were selected as the research subjects using the judgment sampling method. Data on waist circumference, blood pressure, blood glucose, and blood lipid levels were collected to analyze their CMRF [central obesity, elevated blood pressure, elevated blood glucose, elevated triglycerides, and reduced high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)] and their aggregation (with ≥ 2 of the above 5 risk factors) status. Results The detection rates of central obesity, elevated blood pressure, elevated blood glucose, elevated triglycerides, and reduced HDL-C were 61.2%, 38.2%, 29.5%, 40.9% and 22.6%, respectively. The detection rates of CMRF aggregation was 57.8%. The result of multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that male, age ≥45 years, smoking, overweight, and obesity were risk factors for CMRF aggregation (all P<0.05). Conclusion The detection rate of CMRF and its aggregation among workers with new forms of employment in Beijing City is relatively high. Targeted prevention and control efforts should be strengthened for high-risk populations, especially males, workers aged ≥45 years, smokers, and those who are overweight or obese.

The relationship between hyperuricemia (HUA) and erectile dysfunction (ED) remains inadequately understood. Given that HUA is often associated with various metabolic disorders, this study aims to explore the multivariate linear impacts of metabolic parameters on erectile function in ED patients with HUA. A cross-sectional analysis was conducted involving 514 ED patients with HUA in the Department of Andrology, Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine (Nanjing, China), aged 18 to 60 years. General demographic information, medical history, and laboratory results were collected to assess metabolic disturbances. Sexual function was evaluated using the 5-item version of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) questionnaire. Based on univariate analysis, variables associated with IIEF-5 scores were identified, and the correlations between them were evaluated. The effects of these variables on IIEF-5 scores were further explored by multiple linear regression models. Fasting plasma glucose ( β = -0.628, P < 0.001), uric acid ( β = -0.552, P < 0.001), triglycerides ( β = -0.088, P = 0.047), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol ( β = -0.164, P = 0.027), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c; β = -0.562, P = 0.012), and smoking history ( β = -0.074, P = 0.037) exhibited significant negative impacts on erectile function. The coefficient of determination ( R ²) for the model was 0.239, and the adjusted R ² was 0.230, indicating overall statistical significance ( F -statistic = 26.52, P < 0.001). Metabolic parameters play a crucial role in the development of ED. Maintaining normal metabolic indices may aid in the prevention and improvement of erectile function in ED patients with HUA.

Objective:To investigate the bone augmentation effects of domestic decellularized porcine small intestinal submucosa (PSIS) absorbable biomembrane and domestic bovine pericardium tissue (BPT) absorbable biomembrane in guided bone regeneration (GBR) for single-tooth implantation in diabetic patients.Methods:A prospective case-control study was conducted with 48 diabetic patients who received single-tooth implant restoration at the Department of Prosthodontics, School of Stomatology. The Fourth Military Medical University, between January 2023 and January 2024. Patients were randomly assigned to the study group (PSIS group) and the control group (BPT group) using a random number table, with 24 patients in each group. GBR was performed simultaneously with the implant surgery. Cone-beam CT was used to compare the buccal-side horizontal bone gain at 6 months post-operation between the two groups. Wound healing was evaluated at 1 and 4 weeks post-operation using wound healing scores.Results:At 6 months post-operation, the buccal-side horizontal bone gain at 2 mm below the implant abutment in the study group [69.1 (55.2, 82.4) mm] and the control group [71.4 (59.8, 77.0) mm] showed no statistically significant difference ( Z=-0.25, P=0.805). The wound healing scores at 1 and 4 weeks post-operation in the study group did not differ significantly from those in the control group at the same time points (1 week: Z=-0.49, P=0.627; 4 weeks: Z=-0.61, P=0.539). Conclusions:The use of two types of domestic absorbable collagen membranes for GBR in single-tooth implantation in diabetic patients showed comparable buccal-side horizontal bone gain effects at 6 months post-operation and similar clinical outcomes for wound healing at 1 and 4 weeks post-operation in both groups. The GBR effects of PSIS and BPT are similar.

Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) is a naturally occurring, low-toxicity, and hydrophilic bile acid (BA) in the human body that is converted by intestinal flora using primary BA. Solute carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11) functions to uptake extracellular cystine in exchange for glutamate, and is highly expressed in a variety of human cancers. Retroperitoneal liposarcoma (RLPS) refers to liposarcoma originating from the retroperitoneal area. Lipidomics analysis revealed that UDCA was one of the most significantly downregulated metabolites in sera of RLPS patients compared with healthy subjects. The augmentation of UDCA concentration (≥25 μg/mL) demonstrated a suppressive effect on the proliferation of liposarcoma cells. [¹⁵N₂]-cystine and [¹³C₅]-glutamine isotope tracing revealed that UDCA impairs cystine uptake and glutathione (GSH) synthesis. Mechanistically, UDCA binds to the cystine transporter SLC7A11 to inhibit cystine uptake and impair GSH de novo synthesis, leading to reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and mitochondrial oxidative damage. Furthermore, UDCA can promote the anti-cancer effects of ferroptosis inducers (Erastin, RSL3), the murine double minute 2 (MDM2) inhibitors (Nutlin 3a, RG7112), cyclin dependent kinase 4 (CDK4) inhibitor (Abemaciclib), and glutaminase inhibitor (CB839). Together, UDCA functions as a cystine exchange factor that binds to SLC7A11 for antitumor activity, and SLC7A11 is not only a new transporter for BA but also a clinically applicable target for UDCA. More importantly, in combination with other antitumor chemotherapy or physiotherapy treatments, UDCA may provide effective and promising treatment strategies for RLPS or other types of tumors in a ROS-dependent manner.

Objective To systematic evaluate the impact of applying the clinical nursing pathway(CNP)on epidural anesthetic analgesia natural delivery.Methods The randomized controlled trial(RCT)and quasi-experimental researches on the application of CNP in epidural anesthetic analgesia natural delivery were retrieved from PubMed,Cochrane Library,Embase,Web of Science,China Knowledge Network database,Wanfang database,VIP and the Chinese Biomedical Literature Database.The retrieval time limit was from January 1,2014,to July 31,2024 with no language limitation.The meta analysis on the included studies was performed by applying RevMan5.4.1.Results A total of 5 RCTs and 2 quasi-experimental studies were in-cluded,involving 979 parturients with deliveries.The meta analysis showed that compared with the conven-tional nursing,CNP could shorten the duration of the first stage of labor(MD=—1.06,95％CI:—1.95——0.17,P=0.02)and the duration of the second stage of labor(MD=—0.12,95％CI:—0.21——0.03,P=0.006);decreased the rate of perineal lateral incision(RR=0.73,95％CI:0.65-0.83,P＜0.001)and inci-dence rate of postpartum urinary retention(RR=0.35,95％CI:0.20-0.63,P＜0.001);and shortened the time to lactation initiation(SMD=—1.52,95％CI:—2.38——0.66,P＜0.001).There was no influence on reducing postpartum 24 h hemorrhage amount(SMD=—0.51,95％CI:—1.23-0.21,P=0.16).The study subjects were divided into the primipara women subgroup and unclassified parturients subgroup.Compared with the conventional nursing group,compared with the conventional nursing,CNP had no impact on the dura-tion of the first stage of labor(MD=—0.32,95％CI:—0.61-0.98,P=0.63)and the duration of the second stage of labor(MD=—0.11,95％CI:—0.25-0.04,P=0.15)in the primipara women subgroup.CNP could reduce the postpartum 24 h hemorrhage volume in the unclassified parturients subgroup(SMD=—1.47,95％CI:—1.72——1.21,P＜0.001).Conclusion Application of CNP in parturients labor analgesia could reduce the perineal lateral incision rate and incidence rate of postpartum urinary retention and shorten the time to lac-tation initiation.Due to the heterogeneity among studies,the impact of CNP on the labor duration and the bleeding amount within postpartum 24 h still requires more high-quality studies to be conducted in the future for verification.

AIM:This study aims to investigate the impact of chronic kidney disease(CKD)on the growth,development,and cognitive function of offspring rats,and to evaluate the effects of esaxerenone(ESAX)intervention.METHODS:Thirty female non-pregnant Wistar rats were randomly assigned to three groups:sham operation+pregnancy(control group),UUO+pregnancy(model group),and UUO+pregnancy+esaxerenone(treatment group),with 10 rats in each group.CKD was induced in the UUO+pregnancy and UUO+pregnancy+esaxerenone groups by performing uni-lateral ureteral obstruction(UUO),while the sham operation+pregnancy group underwent a non-ligated and non-clipped ureter procedure.Rats in the treatment group received esaxerenone at a dosage of 1 mg·kg-1·d-1.Vaginal smears were per-formed weekly from the 8th week post-UUO to monitor the estrous cycle.Female and male rats in pre-estrus or estrus were paired in a 2∶1 ratio,and the day with the first appearance of sperm in vaginal smears was recorded as the first day of preg-nancy.Offspring were delivered 21 to 22 days post-gestation,and 10 offspring from each group were selected for further experimentation:sham-offspring(sham-offspr)group,UUO-offspro group,and esaxerenone treatment offspring(ESAX-offspr)group.At 21 days of age,offspring weight and tail length were measured.Behavioral tests,including the open field test,Y maze test,and Morris water maze test,assessed learning and memory abilities.Serum levels of aldosterone,5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT),and brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)were measured using ELISA.Serum creati-nine(SCr)and blood urea nitrogen(BUN)levels were assessed using conventional biochemical methods.Renal pathology was examined using Hematoxylin-Eosin(HE)staining.RESULTS:Offspring in the UUO-offspr group had reduced body weight and tail length compared to the sham-offspr group(P＜0.05).Behavioral tests indicated that exploration and memo-ry abilities were significantly impaired in the UUO-offspr group compared to the sham-offspr group(P＜0.05),while the ESAX-offspr group showed improved behavioral development compared to the UUO-offspr group(P＜0.05).ELISA results revealed decreased levels of serum 5-HT,BDNF,and aldosterone in the UUO-offspr group compared to the sham-offspr group(P＜0.01),with increased levels in the ESAX-offspr group(P＜0.05).Renal function tests showed elevated SCr and BUN levels in the UUO-offspr group compared to the sham-offspr group(P＜0.01),while levels in the ESAX-offspr group were reduced(P＜0.01).HE staining demonstrated mild tubular dilation and inflammatory cell infiltration in the UUO-offspr group,whereas the ESAX-offspr group had well-arranged tubules with reduced inflammation.CONCLU-SION:Chronic kidney disease adversely affects the growth,development,and cognitive function of offspring rats by 21 days of age.Esaxerenone intervention can mitigate these detrimental effects on growth,development,and cognitive abili-ties in offspring rats.
