Objective:To explore the independent association between handgrip strength and chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adult residents in Anhui Province using data from the China Adult Chronic Disease and Risk Factor Surveillance (2023).Methods:A multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select residents aged ≥18 years for surveys, physical measurements, and laboratory tests. Relevant covariates were adjusted, and a multivariable logistic regression model was established to infer the association between handgrip strength and CKD, followed by subgroup analysis.Results:A total of 7 295 participants were included in the study, with age of (61.5±13.2) years, and 55.6% of the study participants were women. The results of the multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that with each 1.0 kg increase in handgrip strength, the risk for CKD decreased by 1.3% ( OR=0.987, 95% CI: 0.978-0.997). Compared with those with low handgrip strength, the people with moderate hasdgrip strength ( OR=0.818, 95% CI: 0.694-0.964) and high handgrip strength ( OR=0.729, 95% CI: 0.598-0.989) had lower risk for CKD. In the subgroup analysis, the association between handgrip strength and risk for CKD remained unchanged regardless age, sex, smoking status, and alcohol consumption statuys, and the prevalence of hypertension and hyperlipidemia (interaction P>0.05), except BMI and diabetes. Conclusion:The decline in handgrip strength is associated with an increased risk for CKD in adult residents in Anhui.

Objective To investigate the epidemiological characteristics and influencing factors of Femoral Artery Compression-Related Skin Complications Around the Puncture Site(FACR-SCAPS)in patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)undergoing transarterial chemoembolization(TACE).Methods A multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted using convenience sampling.A total of 1 573 HCC patients who underwent TACE between April 2023 and October 2024 were recruited from interventional radiology departments,oncology units,and specialized centers across 10 hospitals in Beijing,Tianjin,Shandong,Hebei,Qinghai,and Inner Mongolia.Descriptive statistics,univariate analysis,and multivariate logistic regression were used to explore the epidemiological characteristics and influencing factors of FACR-SCAPS in this population.Results Among the 1 573 primary HCC patients undergoing TACE interventional therapy,FACR-SCAPS occurred in 28.99％(456/1 573),with a total of 476 complication instances recorded(30.26 per 100 patients).Patients with a single complication accounted for 96.93％,whereas those with multiple complications constituted 3.07％.The most prevalent types of complications were skin erythema,skin ecchymosis,and hard lumps formation,collectively accounting for 96.49％of all complications.Hematoma,blisters,and rupture complications collectively accounted for only 4.61％.Logistic regression analysis revealed that peak diastolic blood pressure during compression(OR=1.024,95％CI:1.013-1.035,P＜0.001),use of rotary compression hemostasis devices(OR=3.220,95％CI:2.120-4.891,P＜0.001),elevated PT-INR(OR=19.630,95％CI:6.039-63.810,P＜0.001),and anticoagulant use within the last three months(OR=1.909,95％CI:1.064-3.427,P=0.030)were significant influencing factors associated with FACR-SCAPS post-TACE.Conclusion FACR-SCAPS is commonly seen among primary HCC patients after TACE,its risk factors include peak diastolic blood pressure during compression,use of rotary compression devices,elevated PT-INR,and recent anticoagulant use.

Objective:To analyze and predict the future trend of the premature mortality of major chronic and non-communicable diseases in Anhui Province, evaluate the implementation of the "Healthy China 2030" Plan, and explore its influencing factors.Methods:Using data from death-cause surveillance and statistical yearbooks in Anhui, the trend prediction and analysis on influencing factors were conducted by using methods such as time series accumulation and logarithmic linear Joinpoint regression, principal component regression.Results:In Anhui, 28.10% of the deaths were premature ones, of which 84.40% were attributed to chronic and non-communicable diseases. In premature deaths attributed to chronic and non-communicable diseases, the deaths caused by malignant tumor and cardiovascular disease accounted for 45.88% and 41.65% respectively. The prediction results showed that the premature mortality of major chronic and non-communicable diseases would decrease in Anhui in the future, and by 2030, the goal in the "Healthy China 2030" Plan would be reached only in rural area. To reduce premature death, it is necessary to pay attention to the prevention and control of malignant tumor and cardiovascular disease. Men in urban area are the key population. Factors that reflect urban infrastructure had a significant impact on premature mortality of major chronic non-communicable diseases, such as garden and green space area per capita. Factors such as concentration of PM 2.5 had a negative impact on premature mortality of chronic non-communicable diseases, while factors such as garden and green space area per capita had a positive impact. Conclusions:Disease burden caused by chronic and non-communicable diseases, such as malignant tumor, exits in Anhui. Men in urban area are key population in the prevention and control of chronic and non-communicable diseases in the future.

Objective:To investigate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MS) among adult residents with different characteristics and the relationship between serum uric acid(SUA) level and MS using the data of Chinese Adult Chronic Diseases and Nutrition Surveillance(2018) program in Anhui.Methods:Multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling was used to select participants aged 18 and over for questionnaires, physical measurements, and laboratory tests. The complex weighted method was used to estimate the prevalence of MS among residents with different characteristics. Logistic regression model based on complex sampling data was used to analyze the relationship between SUA and MS. Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was used to evaluate the reliability of SUA in diagnosing MS and determine the optimal cutoff point.Results:A total of 7 182 participants were included and the prevalence of MS among adult residents was 29.46%. The prevalence of MS was higher in females(33.76%) than that in males(25.28%), and the difference was statistically significant( P<0.05). After adjusting for other factors, for every 10 μmol/L increase in SUA, the risk of MS increased by 4% in males( OR=1.040, 95% CI 1.019-1.061) and 7% in females( OR=1.070, 95% CI 1.059-1.082). The area under the curve(AUC) for SUA in diagnosing MS was 0.816(95% CI 0.806-0.826), with a sensitivity of 0.761 and specificity of 0.727. The optimal cutoff point for SUA was 450 μmol/L. Conclusion:The prevalence of MS among adult residents in Anhui Province is 29.46%. SUA is a risk factor for MS, and increasing SUA level indicated a higher risk of MS. The optimal cutoff value of SUA may be helpful in diagnosing MS.

Objective:To investigate the current status and temporal trend of probability of premature death, caused by four major non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Anhui province, from 2014 to 2018, and to explore the possibility of achieving the goal of "Healthy China 2030".Methods:Data of death were collected from the "Information System for Death Cause Register and Management". The mortality, standardized mortality, premature mortality rate and annual percentage change (APC) were calculated. Based on the reduction target of "Healthy China 2030"(-30%) and "Healthy Anhui 2030"(-25%) for premature death probability of four major NCDs, the possibility of achieving the target was evaluated.Results:From 2014 to 2018, the proportion of four major NCDs deaths to total deaths increased from 82.76% to 84.77%, showing an upward trend(APC=0.50%). The standardized mortality rate of four major NCDs in the population aged 30-69 years was decreasing annually (APC=-1.78%). The premature death probability of four major NCDs decreased from 15.53% to 14.43% with a downward trend. The decline rate of men (APC=-1.80%) was slightly lower than that of women (APC =-2.00%). The decline rate of urban (APC=-1.57%) and rural (APC=-1.99%), Northern Anhui (APC=-2.32%) and Central Anhui (APC=-1.81%) areas were all showed a downward trend. The premature death probability in the same year was higher in men, rural areas and northern Anhui areas. The decrease of chronic respiratory diseases was the greatest (APC=-9.19%), followed by cancer (APC=-1.77%), but increased in diabetes for men (APC=-2.90%). According to the average growth rate of premature death probability from 2014 to 2018, it was predicted that the goal of healthy Anhui would be achieved by 2030. However, to achieve the goal of healthy China, the rate of decline needs to be increased by 26.40% on the existing basis. Comparing to the proportion, the descent speed needs to be increased between different genders, urban and rural areas and regions. Conclusions:The premature death probability of four major NCDs in Anhui province has a continuous downward trend. Men, rural residents and residents in northern Anhui province are the key population. We should carry out intervention against the main risk factors of NCDs, reduce the premature mortality rate of NCDs, and strive to achieve the goal of "Healthy China 2030".

Objective:Based on the data of the baseline survey of hypertension and sodium intake monitoring in Anhui province in 2019, the salt intake in adult residents was estimated.Methods:Multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling was used to select participants aged 18-69 years, questionnaire survey and related measurements were conducted. Salt intake in participants with different characteristics were estimated with complex sample and linearization of Taylor series based on design and the correlation between salt intake and blood pressure, waist circumference and BMI were tested by linear regression.Results:A total of 1 500 participants were included. The overall salt intake was 9.14 g/d, which was 9.84 g/d in men and 8.47 g/d in women ( P<0.05). The differences in salt intake across different subgroups were significant ( P<0.05). Univariate linear regression analysis showed that salt intake was positively correlated with SBP, DBP, waist circumference and BMI ( P<0.05), while multivariate linear regression analysis (adjusted for other factors) only showed a positive correlation between salt intake and BMI ( β=0.053,95% CI: 0.028-0.078, P<0.05). Conclusion:The dietary salt intake in adult residents in Anhui was higher than WHO recommendation, suggesting that public health education need to be taken to reduce salt intake.

Objective Based on the data of chronic diseases and nutrition surveillance among Chinese adults in 2015,dyslipidemia and related factors were analyzed.Methods Multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling was used to select participants who were aged 18 and over,with questionnaire survey and related measurements conducted.Prevalence rates of dyslipidemia among participants by different characteristics and influencing factors were analyzed,using the method of complex weighting and post-weighted stratification.Results In all,7 404 participants were included.The overall prevalence of dyslipidemia was 30.5％ among the adults.The overall prevalence of dyslipidemia were 36.5％ in males and 24.4％ in females (P＜0.05).The prevalence rates of hypercholesterolemia,hypertriglyceridemia,high LDL-C,and low HDL-C were 3.7％,12.2％,5.3％,and 19.4％,respectively.Results from the multivariate logistic regression model analysis showed that age (OR=1.009,95％CI:1.000-1.018),female (OR=0.501,95％CI:0.397-0.632),College degree or above (OR=1.728,95％CI:1.257-2.374),alcohol consumption 3 (OR=0.711,95％CI:0.536-0.943),central obesity (OR=1.868,95％CI:1.547-2.257),BMI (OR=1.141,95％CI:1.098-1.186),hypertension (OR=1.259,95％CI:1.077-1.473) and diabetes (OR=2.025,95％CI:1.446-2.835) were influencing factors on dyslipidemia.Conclusions The prevalence of dyslipidemia seemed high among adults in Anhui.Risk factors should be closely monitored and under control,including those people with unhealthy lifestyles or being overweight,obesity,hypertensive and diabetic.

Objective To understand the prevalence of unsafe riding practice among electric bicycle riders,and to provide scientific basis for intervention strategies in Ma'anshan city of Anhui Province.Methods Observational method was used to observe electric bicycle riders' behavior of running red light,wearing a helmet,and manned act.The radar speed measuring instrument was used to measure the speed of electric bicycle.Results The rate of electric bicycle riders' running red light was 13.09％ (1 285/9 815),helmet wearing rate was 5.90％ (1 510/25 576),and manned rate was 20.28％ (5 187/25 576).The average speed was 24 ki/h,and the electric bicycles whose speed were ＞ 20 km/h accounted for 74.60％.There were significant differences in the running red light rate,helmet wearing rate and the average speed of travel among different time periods and dates (all P ＜ 0.05).More running the red light occurred during 13:30-14:30 and 15:00-16:00.Less helmet wearing occurred during 10:00-11:00 and 08:30-09:30.The periods with highest average speed were at07:00-08:00,08:30-09:30,11:30-12:30,and 13:30-14:30,which was 24 km/h.The helmet wearing rate of females (6.54％) was higher than that of males(5.46％),the men's average speed (24 km/h) was higher than women's (23 ki/h),and the differences were both statistically significant(all P ＜ 0.001).Conclusion The electric bicycle riders in Ma'anshan city of Anhui Province have the dangerous behavior of running red lights,not wearing a helmet,manned act and speeding.Targeted interventions should be taken to reduce the occurrence of related risk behaviors.

Objective To understand the incidence pattern of fall among older adults in Anhui province during 2006-2014,and provide scientific basis for intervention strategies and decision-making.Methods The incidence data of fall in elderly adults from 6 sentinel hospitals in 2 national injury surveillance areas in Anhui province between 2006 and 2014 were collected for this descriptive epidemiological analysis of the overall incidence trend,demographic characteristics,case distribution and clinical characteristics of fall cases in the elderly.Results The fall case number,the proportions of fall cases to injury cases and to overall fall cases in the elderly all increased from 2006 to 2014.The fall was the first cause of the elderly injury during the past 9 years.The sex ratio was 0.74 and the cases in males decreased with age.In both males and females,the cases in retirees and the jobless accounted for the highest proportions.The annual incidence peak was during August to October,and two daily incidence peaks were during 9 am-ll am and 16 pm-18 pm.The elderly falls mainly occurred at home (62.07％),and more females were affected than males (70.27％ vs.50.97％).Leisure activity and homework related falls accounted for 49.18％ and 28.67％ respectively,and more housework related falls occurred in females than in males.Contusion/abrasion was the first injury caused by fall in males (42.63％) and fracture was the first injury caused by fall in females (47.27％).Head was the first injury site in males (38.04％) and leg was the first injury site in females (29.29％).Most injuries caused by fall were mild (55.12％) and moderate (41.84％) in severity,but the proportions of moderate and severe cases increased gradually with age.Conclusion Fall in the elderly has become a public health problem.It is necessary to take targeted prevention and control measures according to the gender and age distributions of the fall in the elderly.
