Porcine arthritis,one of the common chronic diseases in large-scale pig farms,can signifi-cantly reduce the production performance of meat pigs.In this study,a strain of Haemophilus pa-rasuis(HPS)was isolated from the joint fluid of a lame pig.The HPS was analyzed in terms of se-rotypes,virulence genes,and resistance genes.Additionally,it was treated with sensitive antibiotics to provide a theoretical basis for the comprehensive prevention and treatment of arthritis in meat pigs in future production settings.A strain of HPS type 14 was isolated from the joint fluid of dis-eased pigs.The HPS isolate demonstrated sensitivity to β-lactams and tetracyclines,while florfeni-col and polymyxin effectively inhibited its growth at low concentrations.However,the bacteria ex-hibited resistance to sulfonamides and ciprofloxacin.The treatment of affected pigs with clinical ar-thritis using doxycycline and enrofloxacin injections proved effective.Compared to the infected group,in which the sick pigs experienced difficulty flexing their carpal and tarsal joints and exhibi-ted significant lameness,the pigs in the treatment group showed marked improvement.Their joints were only slightly swollen,and the clinical symptoms of arthropathy were alleviated.

Objective:To compare the clinical value of visual analogue scale （VAS）, Lebel scale and total nasal symptom scores （TNSS） in evaluating nasal allergen provocation test （NAPT）. Methods:A total of 151 patients suspected of allergic rhinitis admitted to the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery of our hospital from April 2020 to September 2020 were included, of which 76 were positive for house dust mites and 75 were negative for allergens. Nasal airway resistance（NAR） was measured by active anterior nasal manometry. Nasal symptoms were evaluated by VAS, Lebel and TNSS. House dust mite allergen was used for NAPT by spray method. An increase≥40% in NAR was used as the gold standard for objective evaluation of NAPT. ROC curves of VAS, Lebel and TNSS were drawn to compare the evaluation effectiveness of different subjective evaluation methods, and the optimal critical point of each ROC curve was obtained. Results:With NAR increased by ≥40% as the gold standard, the area under ROC curve of VAS was 0.884, and the sensitivity and specificity were 97.75% and 80.65%, respectively. The area under ROC curve of Lebel was 0.773, and the sensitivity and specificity were 68.54% and 75.81%, respectively. The area under ROC curve of TNSS was 0.792, and the sensitivity and specificity were 68.54% and 79.03%, respectively. There was no significant difference between Lebel and TNSS（P>0.05）. The VAS differed significantly from Lebel and TNSS（P<0.05）. The Kappa values of VAS, Lebel, TNSS and NAR were 0.803, 0.432 and 0.459, respectively. Conclusion:The VAS, Lebel, TNSS subjective scale and NAR are consistent in evaluating the efficacy of NAPT, with the VAS assessment showing highest consistency with NAR. As objective assessment instruments are not widely used in China, subjective assessment method could be adopted to evaluate the efficacy of NAPT in clinical practice, and VAS scale is recommended as a priority.

【Objective】 To investigate the practice and benefit of national standardized management of type 2 diabetes in Yulin City. 【Methods】 We recruited the adult type 2 diabetes patients who sought medical help at our hospital from May 2020 to October 2022 as subjects. We collected their basic information (sex and age); measured height, weight, waist and hip circumference, and blood pressure; calculated body mass index (BMI); and detected blood glucose, c-peptide, HbA1c, biomarkers, urinary microalbumin, sensory nerve conduction velocity of lower limbs, ABI, and subcutaneous and visceral fat at the time of MMC recruited and the end of six months. T test and Mann-Whitney U rank sum test were used for measurement data and χ² test or Fisher’s exact probability method for counting data to analyze the data. 【Results】 After 6 months, the levels of fasting blood glucose, postprandial blood glucose, HbA1c, and visceral and subcutaneous fat in all the patients decreased, but the level of fasting c-peptide increased compared with the baseline (all P<0.05). Secondly, compared with the baseline, the control rate of HbA1c (35.21% vs. 13.71% ) and the comprehensive control rate (13.97% vs. 7.26% ) were both significantly increased at six months (P<0.05). Thirdly, after 6 months, the levels of fasting blood glucose, postprandial blood glucose, HbA1c, TG, TC, and UA were decreased more, while the fasting c-peptide and postprandial c-peptide were increased more in the patients of the HbA1c standard group (HbA1c<7% ) than those of the non-standard group. 【Conclusion】 The multiple benefits of blood glucose, blood lipid, uric acid and islet function can be achieved by taking type 2 diabetes patients into MMC. Meanwhile, the rates of HbA1c control and comprehensively reaching the standard are significantly increased. Therefore, MMC can explore a new way for the management of type 2 diabetic patients in this area.

The characteristics of public health teaching are discussed in this paper from the aspects of public health curriculum system and difficulties of public health curriculum. The application status of flipped classroom, MOOC, distance learning, online course, Elearning, UMU online education platform and other smart teaching methods in public health teaching are summarized. It is suggested that the level of smart public health teaching should be improved from the perspectives of learning autonomy, deep integration of teaching and technology and construction of smart classrooms.

Objective:Unidentified filling objects (UFO) can cause adverse results including infections, overfilling, asymmetry, foreign body granulomas, dislocation or psychological panic. To remove UFO accurately, it is important to locate and identify the injected substances preoperatively. This study investigated the viability of using MRI to correctly locate and identify injected substances by relating MRI to gross and pathological microscopic examination.Methods:Eighty-two facial UFO patients from 2013 to 2017 were studied by the experts of the Department of Image, Xinhua Hospital of Dalian University. Five of the patients were male and seventy-seven were female. The age ranged from 17 to 58 years with average 29.4 years. They came to our hospital for removal of UFO after they had facial injective fillers in the illegal medial offices. The injected sites involved in the forehead, temple, malar, cheek, nose, nasolabial folds, and chin. All the patients＇ faces were examined with MRI preoperatively, using T1W, T2W and fat-suppressed sequences. Based on the guides of MRI, UFOs were removed with their capsules by open approach. Samples were recorded with digital pictures and then were fixed in 10% formalin solution for microscopic examination of HE stained slices.Results:Based on MRI, gross and microscopic examination, UFO were classified into 3 types, gel-like fillers, solid particles, and growth factors. Gel-like fillers appeared strongly hyperintense on T2 W and STIR sequences and hypointense on T1 W sequences. Grossly, they looked like gruel covered by altered soft tissue. Under the light microscope, many pieces of blue-stained material were dispersed in subcutaneous tissue infiltrated with a large number of mononuclear cells and foreign-body giant cells. Solid particles had low to intermediate signal intensity on T1 W and T2 W images. Grossly, they were like sand merging in soft tissue. The biopsy showed crowed bubbles surrounded by tissue filled with a large number of mononuclear cells and foreign-body giant cells. For growth factors affected tissue, it was hard to differentiate between normal and abnormal on MRI. The affected tissue appeared as somehow hypointense on T1 W sequences and hyperintense on T2 W fat suppressed sequences. During the operation, the affected region was easy bleeding and full of fibrofatty tissue. Under the microscope, there were increased small blood vessels and collagens.Conclusions:Based on MRI, gross and microscopic examination, UFO can be classified into 3 types, gel-like fillers, solid particles, and growth factors. MRI is very important for doctors to assess the patient＇s conditions and make the plan of operation. MRI is also useful for doctors to locate UFO and understand the relationship between UFO and their nearby organs.

This study aims to explore the involvement of c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK)-Gap junction regulation in the rat model of bone cancer pain and figure out whether adenosine 5′-monophosphate(AMP)-activated protein kinase(AMPK )activator metformin could attenuate bone cancer pain through this mechanism. Tumor cell implantation(TCI)induced bone cancer pain model in rats was established. The rats were administered, respectively, with 20 μL of metformin(50, 100 μg), JNK inhibitor SP600125(10 μg), gap junction inhibitor(carbenoxolone, CBX)(10 μg)and AMPK inhibitor Compound C(CC)(10 μg). The Von Frey Assay was applied to test the mechanical pain threshold. The activity of Glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP), ionized calcium-binding adaptor molecule 1(IBA-1)and Connexin 43(Cx43)in spinal cord was evaluated by immunohistochemistry. Changes of p-JNK expression were detected by Western blot. JNK inhibitor SP600125 relieved TCI-induced bone cancer pain significantly in rats, while this analgesic effect was almost canceled by the blocker of gap junction carbenoxolone(CBX). Various concentration of metformin(50, 100 μg, i. t. )significantly inhibited TCI-induced mechanical allodynia and the changes of p-JNK and p-Cx43 expression were also reversed in spinal cord in rats. Together, these data suggested that activation of AMPK with metformin attenuated TCI-induced bone cancer pain via regulating the function of JNK-Gap junction in rats.

Objective To observe the clinical effect of sling exercise therapy(S-E-T)combined with drug treatment for cervical vertigo in elderly patients.Methods Forty-nine elderly patients with cervical vertigo admitted to our hospital between January 2011 and July 2014 were randomly divided into an observation group(n=27)and a control group(n=22).The observation group was given 80 mg Ginaton(Extract of Ginkgo Biloba Leaves Tablets)produced by German Dr.Willmar Schwabe GmbH & Co.KG three times a day,combined with S-E-T,including cervical stability and stretching training for 40min,focusing on the neck global muscle and local stabilize muscle rehabilitation,once every other day.The control group was provided with the same drug treatment.During the 6-month intervention,both groups were given health education by the same therapist.Both groups were assessed using the neck disability index(NDI),visual analogue scale(VAS)and evaluation scale for cervical vertigo(ESCV) before and after the intervention,as well as at the last follow-up visit.Before the treatment and at the last follow-up visit,the cervical X-ray examination and trigger point check were also conducted for both groups.Results All the forty-nine patients were followed up for 4.83 to 6.70 months,with an average of(6.01 ± 0.49)months.Significant improvement was observed in the average ESCV score for both groups after the treatment.Compared with before the treatment,there was significant improvement in the average NDI and VAS right after the treatment and at the last follow-up visit in the observation group,but only at the last follow-up visit in the control group.From the cervical X-ray,no significant differences were found in the vertebral osteophyte formation,facet joints and uncovertebral joint degeneration between the 2 groups(P＞0.05),while significant differences were observed in the number of the neck trigger points(P＜0.05).Conclusion The sling exercise therapy combined with drug treatment can significantly improve cervical function,relieve pain and vertigo symptoms in elderly patients with cervical vertigo.The effect is better than drug treatment alone.

Objective To study effect of atypical antipsychotics on glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) levels in schizophrenia patients.Methods A total of 104 drug-free schizophrenic patients and 70 healthy controls were recruited.All patients were treated with atypical antipsychotic monotherapy.GDNF serumlevels and psychiatric symptoms were assessed at baseline and at 2,4,6 and 8 weeks of treatment.Results Baseline serum GDNF levels were significantly lower in schizophrenic patients than healthy controls (t =5.596,P ＜ 0.001).GDNF levels gradually increased accompanied by a reduction in psychiatric symptoms during antipsychotic therapy (P ＜ 0.01).The levels of GDNF in responders were significantly changed after treatment (P ＜ 0.01),however,no significant change was found in non-responders (P ＞ 0.05).Furthermore,a negative association between GDNF levels after pharmacotherapy and disease duration in schizophrenic subjects could be observed (r =-0.270,P =0.024).Conclusion The present study suggests that GDNF may be involved in the mechanisms of schizophrenia pathogenesis and pharmacological efficacy.
