Objective:To explore the surgical efficacy of high position dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) under nasal endoscopy in patients with chronic dacryocystitis secondary to failure of nasolacrimal duct stent implantation.Methods:A total of 101 patients with chronic dacryocystitis who were treated at People′s Hospital of Peking University from 2013 to 2024 were retrospectively selected, including 14 males and 87 females, aged (56.82±13.00) years (Mean±SD). The patients were divided into control group (53 cases, 59 eyes) and stent group (48 cases, 60 eyes). The control group consisted of randomly selected patients with simple dacryocystitis, while, the stent group included patients with secondary dacryocystitis after failure of nasolacrimal duct stent implantation. All patients underwent endoscopic high DCR with exposed the Rosenmüller valve, combined with intraoperative lacrimal silicone tube implantation. After the operation, the surgical efficacy was evaluated by methods such as Munk score, endoscopic observation of intranasal ostia, lacrimal duct irrigation, and fluorescein test. SPSS 27.0 software was used for data statistics.Results:All 101 patients were followed up for at least one year after DCR surgery. In the control group, one patient (two eyes) was lost to follow-up; while, in the stent group, three patients (three eyes) were lost to follow-up, with one case diagnosed with lacrimal sac cancer. Excluding the lost-to-follow-up cases and the patient with lacrimal sac cancer, anatomical success was achieved in 54 eyes (96.4%, 54/56) in the stent group, and both anatomical and functional success in 53 eyes (94.6%, 53/56); in the control group, 55 eyes (96.5%, 55/57) achieved both anatomical and functional success. No statistically significant difference was found in postoperative effectiveness efficacy between the two groups ( χ2=0.000, P=0.984). Conclusion:For patients with secondary dacryocystitis after nasolacrimal duct stent implantation, high position DCR with exposure of Rosenmüller valve combined with lacrimal duct silicone intubation can achieve better long-term efficacy.

Objective:To understand the burden of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and its risk factors in Fujian Province during 1990-2019.Methods:Based on the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019, the incidence rate, mortality rate and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) of CKD in Fujian from 1990 to 2019 were calculated. An age-period-cohort model was used to estimate the effects of age, period, and cohort on age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR), age-standardized mortality rate (ASMR), and age-standardized DALY rate (ASDR) of CKD. Comparative risk assessment theory was used to calculate the potential attributable DALYs due to risk factors.Results:In 2019, the ASIR of CKD in Fujian exceeded the national average. The ASIR of CKD showed an increasing trend from 1990 to 2019, but the ASMR and ASDR of CKD exhibited decreasing trends during the same period. In 2019, the ASIR of CKD was higher in women than in men, while the ASMR and ASDR were higher in men than in women. Age-period-cohort analysis indicated that ASIR, ASMR, and ASDR of CKD increased with age. The period effect for ASIR decreased first before increase, while the period effect for ASMR and ASDR displayed fluctuating trends. The cohort effect showed an upward trajectory for ASIR, but a stable status before downward trajectories for ASMR and ASDR. Compared with 1990, except the increase in the ASDR of CKD attributed to high BMI and high temperatures, the ASDR of CKD attributed to other risk factors all showed decreases in 2019. However, the ASDR attributed to high sodium intake remained higher compared with the global average.Conclusion:The burden of CKD remains heavy in Fujian, and it is necessary to reduce the attributable risk factors, such as high sodium intake and high BMI, to address this problem.

Objective: To explore the characteristics and influencing factors of unintentional burns among left-behind children in rural areas of northern Guizhou, from the perspective of parents and children, to formulate strategies to prevent children from burns. Methods: A total of 508 left-behind children were recruited by using a multistage cluster sampling method, and 196 left-behind children’s families were also investigated with a self-designed questionnaire.The relative factors of burns were analyzed by unconditional logistic regression and multiple regression analysis. Results: The report rate of burns among left-behind children was 12.20%(62/508). Left-behind girls were a risk factor for burns(OR=1.81). The time of employment >5 years and the higher of the score of burn-related knowledge were the protective factors(OR=0.23, 0.38)(P<0.05). Only 64.80% of left-behind children’s main guardians had a burns-related knowledge score of 60 or more. The age of their main guardian, the number of minor children, and whether understand of unintentional injury were the influencing factors of burns score. Conclusion The report rate of burns among left-behind children in rural areas in northern Guizhou is still high; parents/guardians have a low cognition level of burns. The knowledge of burns should be strengthened and left-behind children should be cared to reduce the incidence of burns.

Objective:To investigate the blood pressure control and its influencing factors in hypertension patients with MS.Methods:Between January 2017 and December 2018, more than 78 000 residents aged 35-75 years selected through convenient sampling were invited to participant in China Patient-Centered Evaluative Assessment of Cardiac Event Million Persons Project in Fujian province, physical and laboratory tests were conducted for them, and their basic information were recorded. A total of 5 281 hypertension patients with MS were included in the study.Results:The treatment rate of hypertension patients with MS was 55.5%, and the control rate was 7.2%. The control rate was higher in patients who were older, women, had advanced education level, had history or family history of cardiovascular disease. The results of multivariate analysis indicated that living area (urban or rural), cardiovascular history, diabetes, urine protein, BMI had impacts on both treatment and control of hypertension. Family history of cardiovascular disease, age, self-management of hypertension, dyslipidemia, waist circumference and drinking had impacts on the treatments, and gender had effects on the control.Conclusions:The treatment rate of hypertension patients with MS was unsatisfactory and the control rate was low. Intervention should be strengthened in rural area, males and young age groups, and activity of self-management group of hypertension should be conducted regularly.

Traditional treatments for malignant tumor are far from meeting the clinical demands.Recently,research on anti-tumor targeted drugs has made a significant breakthrough,which brings new hope for the treatment of malignant tumor.Anti-tumor targe-ted drugs can specifically target malignant tumor and directly in-hibit the growth of tumor cells,showing no toxicity to the normal tissues and organs.Herein we reviewed the research progress of small molecular targeted drugs and antibody targeting new drugs.

Objective To explore the association of sedentary life style with risk of metabolic syndrome (MS) and diabetes mellitus type 2 (T2DM).Methods A total of 6 016 local residents aged 18 years or older in Fujian province were recruited by multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method in 2010-2011.Data,including demographic information,physical activity and sedentary time were collected.Indices related to height,weight,waist circumference,blood pressure and blood lipid were determined while MS and T2DM were diagnosed by IDF (2005) and WHO (1999) criteria.Logistic regression was used to estimate the correlations between sedentary behavior and MS or T2DM.Results The prevalence rates of MS and T2DM were 19.0％ and 8.0％ respectively,in local residents aged 18 years or older,in Fujian province.The overall rate of sedentary behavior was 18.1％,with the mean sedentary time as 4.3 hours.Both data showed significantly differences (P＜0.001) among control group,MS without T2DM group,MS with T2DM group and T2DM without MS group.Compared with the group of sedentary time ＜2.0 h/d,1) the group with 2.0-3.5 h/d was significantly correlated with MT group (OR=1.44,95％ CI:1.03-2.03,P＜0.05),2) groups of 3.5-6.0 h/d and ≥6.0 h/d were significantly correlated with M,T,MT group,respectively (OR:1.49-1.76 and 1.28-1.58 respectively,95％ CI:1.19-2.45 and 1.02-2.23 respectively,P＜ 0.05),and 3) sedentary behavior was independently associated with an increased risk of MT group (OR=1.82,95％ CI:1.33-2.48,P＜0.01) and M group (OR=1.43,95％CI:1.14-1.78,P＜0.01),after the adjustment for factors as age,sex,cigarette smoking,alcohol drinking,BMI,education,occupation,sedentary behavior/sedentary time.Conclusion MS and T2DM were associated with sedentary lifestyle,but these findings should be confirmed through further longitudinal studies.

ObjectiveTo explore the prognostic value of pretreated maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) using 18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography with computed tomography (18FDG PET/CT) in locally-advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) treated by intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT).MethodsOne hundred and forty previously untreated stage Ⅲ - Ⅳb ( UICC/AJCC 6th) patients with biopsy-proven nasopharyngeal carcinoma were examined.All of the enrolled patients accepted whole body/head-neck 18FDG PET/CT before radical IMRT. 18FDG uptakes were recorded as SUVmax of primary tumor (SUVmax-P) and SUVmax of cervical lymph nodes (SUVmax-N).The relationships between SUVmax and long-term clinical outcomes were analyzed.ResultsThe median SUVmax-P was 10.4,and the median SUVmax-N was 6.2.The SUVmax-P was weakly correlated with T-stage ( R =0.279,P =0.001 ).The SUVmax-N was weakly correlated with N stage ( R =0.334,P =0.000 ).There were no difference of the median SUVmax-P (9.2 vs.10.4,U =560.50,P =0.805 ) and the median SUVmax-N (4.0vs.5.0,U =576.00,P =0.908) between patients with and without local recurrence.The median SUVmax-P of patients with distant metastasis was significantly higher than those without metastasis (11.9 vs.9.8,U =987.50,P =0.014).The SUV of 10.2 was taken as a cut-off for high and low uptake tumors.For patients with SUVmax-P ＞ 10.2,the 5-year distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS) and 5-year overall survival (OS)were significantly higher than those with SUVmax-P ≤ 10.2 (69.1％ vs.95.5％,x2 =15.88,P =0.000;68.4％ vs.94.0％,x2 =15.56,P =0.000,respectively).Multivariate analysis showed that SUVmax-P was the only independent risk factor of 5-year DMFS and OS ( HR =7.87,P =0.001 and HR =5.14,P =0.003). Conclusion SUVmax-P is a useful biomarker predicting long-term clinical outcomes in newly diagnosed locally-advanced NPC patients.
