Objective To explore the correlation of complex inflammation indexes,neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR)and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)with the severity of acute ische-mic stroke(AIS).Methods A total of 278 patients with brain MRI-confirmed AIS admitted in our department between March 2018 and September 2023 were enrolled retrospectively, and according to the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)score at admission, they were divided into a mild stroke group(NIHSS score≤3,n=157)and a moderate-severe stroke group(NIHSS score>3,n=121).Clinical data and results of laboratory tests at admission were collec-ted,and NLR and PLR were calculated.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to assess the association of NLR and PLR with AIS severity. Results Compared with the mild stroke group, the moderate-severe stroke group had significantly older age, larger proportions of atrial fibrillation and pre-morbid Modified Rankin Scale(mRS)score>1,higher NLR and PLR,and higher ratio of culprit large vessel stenosis, and a lower rate of transient ischemic attack(TIA)(P<0.05,P<0.01).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that TIA(95%CI:0.017-0.455,P=0.004)was a protective factor, and pre-morbid mRS>1(95%CI:1.451-6.700,P=0.004),NLR(95%CI:1.041-1.346,P=0.010)and culprit large vessel stenosis(95%CI:1.370-4.415,P=0.003)were risk factors for the severity of AIS.Conclusion Inflammation is involved in the pathogenesis of AIS,and the complex inflammatory index,NLR may be an inde-pendent risk factor for the severity of AIS.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of cerebral perfusion SPECT/CT combined with brain MRI in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Methods A total of 107 cases with ischemic cerebrovascular disease from August 2011 to August 2013 (71 males,36 females,age:33-84years) were retrospectively studied, including 31 cases with transient ischemic attack,40 cases with the first onset of cerebral infarction,36 cases with recurrent cerebral infarction.99Tcm-ECD SPECT/CT and brain MRI were performed within 7 d after attack. The interval between the two scans was within 5 d.The number of lesions and detection rate by SPECT/CT,SPECT,MRI,CT,and their combination were calculated respectively, and analyzed using x2 test. Results The detection rate was:SPECT/CT+MRI (97.20%,104/107)=SPECT+MRI (97.2%,104/107) >SPECT/CT (95.33%,102/107)>SPECT (90.65%,97/107) >MRI (85.05%,91/107)>CT (65.42%,70/107).No statistically significant difference was observed between the detection rate of SPECT/CT+MRI and SPECT+MRI,SPECT/CT (x2 =0.17,0.13;both P>0.05),while there was statistically significant difference between SPECT/CT+MRI and SPECT,MRI,or CT (x2 =4.01,9.76,35.50;all P<0.05).SPECT/CT detected more ischemic lesions located in brain gray matter and revealed crossed cerebellar diaschisis, while MRI was better for detecting small lacunar lesions in basal ganglia, brainstem and deep white matter. Conclusions SPECT/CT is valuable for the detection of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.hnproved assessment may be achieved by the combination of SPECT/CT and MRI.

To investigate the effects of oleanolic acid (OA) on the proliferation, migration and the formation of tube-like structure in human vascular endothelial cells (HUVECs). MTT assay, flat plate scarification, Transwell plates and matrigel-induced tube formation assay were performed to detect the effects of OA on proliferation, migration and tube formation. MTT assay showed that the inhibition rates of HUVECs treated with 60 and 100 microg x mL(-1) of OA for 24 h were 19% and 83% respectively. Treatment of HUVECs significantly inhibited the cell migration in a dose-dependent manner. The vascular indexes of HUVECs treated with 40 and 60 microg x mL(-1) OA were 33% and 20% respectively. Western blotting analysis showed that treatment of the cells with OA significantly attenuated the expression and secretion of VEGF. Additionally, VEGF could in part reverse the effects of OA on migration and tube formation of HUVECs. In conclusion, OA inhibits the proliferation, and VEGF plays an important role in OA induced decreased migration and tube formation of HUVECs.

[Objective] To explore the techniques of hand-assisted laparoscopic splenectomy plus portozygos disconnection procedure. [Methods] 18 patients with portal hypertension were operated by hand-assisted laparoscopic splenectomy plus portozygos disconnection. [Results] The operations were completed successfully. The mean operative time was 180(150~260) minutes, the mean blood loss estimated was 540(200~2 000) mL, the mean weight of spleen was 910 (500~2000) g and the mean length of hospital stay was 9.7 (8~18) days after operation. All patients had recovered rapidly and suffered less pain and only 5 patients needed analgesic. The mean recovery time of the bowel function was 52(24~74) hours. The hand incisions healed well, and only one occurred complications and another suffered death. [ Conclusions ] Hand-assisted laparoscopic splenectomy plus portozygos disconnection procedure is to be feasible and safe, and has the merits of minimally invasive surgery.

Objectives:To investigate the influence of PN via portal vein on insulin and glucagon in liver regeneration. Methods:The rabbits were randomly devided into control group( n =5),PN via portal vein group(group Ⅰ, n =10) and PN via central vein group(group Ⅱ, n =10).The PN was performed for 6 days after partial hepatectomy. The concentration of serum insulin and glucagon in portal and perpheral vein were analysed with radioimmunoassay. Results:The concentration of serum insulin was increased in group Ⅰ and group Ⅱ,and it was increased significantly( P 0.05),but it was increased significantly in portal vein blood in group Ⅰ( P

Objective To study the feasibility and curative effect of laparoscopic radical resection of rectal carcinoma. Methods Sixty-two cases were enrolled in this study between Feb 2003 and Mar 2005, including 32 cases undergoing laparoscopic radical resection (19 Dixon and 13 Miles) , and 30 cases undergoing open radical resection (22 Dixons and 8 Miles). Results The mean operation time of laparoscopic group was 195 min, and open group was 156 min (P 0. 05 ). The GI and urination function of laparoscopic group recovered faster than open group ( evacuated was 2. 7 days vs. 3. 7 days, P
