Objective:
To understand classroom environmental conditions and their association with spinal curvature abnormalities among students of primary and secondary schools in Guizhou Province, so as to provide a basis for formulating school health policies and scientific prevention and control measures for abnormal spinal curvature in students.
Methods:
Using a stratified random sampling method, 471 schools (2 811 classrooms) were selected annually across the province from 2022 to 2024 in order to monitor and evaluate classroom environment according to national standards. Spinal examinations were conducted for 196 606 (2022), 194 876 (2023), and 195 048 (2024) students, and χ 2 test was used to analyze the correlation of desk and chair compliance with student spinal curvature abnormalities.
Results:
The qualified rates of classroom blackboard illuminance uniformity ( 85.41 %) and the blackboard size (82.24%) were the highest in primary and secondary schools in Guizhou Province, while the average blackboard surface illumination qualified rate (20.10%) was the lowest. The average desk illumination (50.11%-58.63%), desk illumination uniformity (61.92%-72.27%) and qualified noise rate (50.04%-51.94%) increased significantly in 3 years; in addition, the compliance rate of desks and chairs decreased from 25.00% to 13.52%, and the differences were all statistically significant ( χ 2=42.48, 80.93, 46.09, 129.72, all P <0.05). Middle school classrooms outperformed primary schools in terms of per capita area, average blackboard illuminance, blackboard illuminance uniformity, average desktop illuminance, desktop illuminance uniformity, and noise compliance ( χ 2=311.55, 12.41, 20.64, 40.76, 10.25, 52.47), but had lower compliance for blackboard size and reflectance ( χ 2=537.29, 7.59) (all P <0.01). Urban schools had higher compliance than suburban schools for per capita area, average blackboard illuminance, average desktop illuminance, and desktop illuminance uniformity ( χ 2=73.71, 17.68, 29.30 , 36.03), but lower compliance for desk-chair suitability, blackboard size, and blackboard reflectance ( χ 2=4.72, 26.02, 5.43 ) (all P <0.05). The spinal curvature abnormality detection rate was 0.83%. A significant association was found between abnormality detection and desk-chair non compliance ( χ 2=223.85, P <0.01).
Conclusions
Classroom environment hygiene in Guizhou schools is suboptimal. Strengthening school environmental hygiene infrastructure and greater attention to its impact on student s health are essential.

Objective:
To understand the epidemiological characteristics of abnormalities spinal curvature among children and adolescents in Karst landform in Guizhou Province, so as to provide a scientific basis for targeted comprehensive intervention.
Methods:
From September to December 2023, 194 875 children and adolescents aged 6-18 were selected from all countieldistricts of 9 cities (prefectures) in Guizhou Province by stratified random cluster sampling method according to the proportion of Karst landform area in Guizhou Province for carrying out spinal curvature abnormality screening, and a questionnaire survey was conducted on 139 449 students in the fourth grade and above of primary school. Binary Logistic regression was used for multivariate analysis.
Results:
The detection rate of abnormal spinal curvature among children and adolescents aged 6-18 in Guizhou Province was 1.13%. The detection rates of abnormal spinal curvature in areas with a high proportion of Karst landform, areas with a low proportion of Karst landform, intercalation areas, and nonKarst landform areas were 1.10%, 2.00%, 0.90%, and 0.60%, respectively. Among them, the detection rates of abnormal spinal curvature in female students (2.40%, 1.60%, 0.90%) in areas with a low proportion of Karst landform, intercalation areas and nonKarst landform were higher than those in male students (1.60%, 0.10%, 0.30) (χ2=12.66, 112.69, 30.22, all P<0.05). The detection rates of abnormal spinal curvature among senior high school students (2.00%, 4.30%, 1.40%, 1.30%) in different Karst landform distributions were successively higher than those among junior high school students (1.40%, 3.20%, 1.00%, 0.60%) and primary school students (0.70%, 0.80%, 0.60%, 0.30%) (χ2=306.11, 175.80, 14.24, 39.57, all P<0.05). The results of multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that the detection rates of abnormal spinal curvature in both highproportion and lowproportion Karst landform areas were higher than those in nonKarst landform areas [OR(95%CI)=1.84(1.05-2.25), 1.60(1.23-2.09), both P<0.05].
Conclusion
The detection rate of abnormal spinal curvature in children and adolescents aged 6-18 in Guizhou Province is related to the distribution of Karst landform, so it is necessary to strengthen screening and appropriate comprehensive interventions.

The Healthy China 2030 Plan set the goal of reducing premature deaths from diabetes by 30% by 2030. However, there has been a lack of assessment of premature mortality for diabetes since the action plan was issued. This study used data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021, calculated the premature deaths for diabetes by sex, provinces, and subtypes from 1990 to 2021. We explored the temporal trend of premature mortality using the average annual percent change (AAPC) for different sexes, provinces, and subtypes from 1990 to 2021. Furthermore, we predicted premature mortality for diabetes through 2030 for China and its provinces according to the average annual change rate from 2010 to 2021. There was a first slow upward trend in premature mortality for diabetes from 0.5% in 1990 to 0.6% in 2004, and then a decline until 2021 with premature mortality of 0.4%. By 2030, only Fujian (30.3%) will achieve the desired level of reduction, with only seven provinces meeting the target for females and none for males. There is a large range in the degree of decline between inland and coastal regions, showing obvious geographic differences, and there should be a focus on balancing medical resources.

Objective:To investigate the neural function and Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) in post-stroke depression (PSD) model rats. The effect of IGF-1 on mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway.Methods:15 male SD rats were selected as sham-operation group. PSD rat model was prepared by Longa method and chronic unpredictability mild stress method with 70 rats. The successfully constructed PSD rats were divided into model group, fluoxetine group (2.31 mg/kg fluoxetine, gavage), electroacupuncture group [stimulation of "Baihui"(GV20), "Fengfu"(GV16), "Shenting"(GV24) and "Taichong"(LR3) acupoints by electroacupuncture]and positive drug group [stimulation of "Baihui"(GV20), "Fengfu"(GV16), "Shenting"(GV24) and "Taichong"(LR3) acupoints by electroacupuncture + 5 μl of Sb202190 solution was injected into the lateral ventricle with a concentration of 10 μmol/L]. According to random number table method, with 15 rats in each group. Each group received relevant administration, and the rats' body mass was measured at the end of treatment. mNSS scale was used to evaluate the neurological impairment of rats; the behavioral function of rats was evaluated by sugar water preference test and forced swimming test; Nissl and TUNEL staining were used to observe the number of NissL bodies and the apoptosis rate of neurons in hippocampus; the level of serum IGF-1 was Nissl by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA); Western blot was used to detect the expressions of Caspase-3, Bax, Bcl-2, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element binding protein (CREB), p-CREB, IGF-1, mitogen activated protein kinase (MEK), p-MEK, ERK, p-ERK, JNK, p-JNK, p38 mitogen activated protein kinase (p38), p-p38 protein in brain tissue. Results:Compared with the model group, the weight of rats increased in the fluoxetine, electroacupuncture, and positive drug groups ( P<0.05); mNSS and forced swim test immobility time decreased ( P<0.05). Sucrose consumption percentage and struggling time in the forced swim test were markedly elevated ( P<0.05); Nissl body counts in hippocampal neurons increased ( P<0.05), accompanied by reduced neuronal apoptosis rates ( P<0.05); serum IGF-1 level significantly increased ( P<0.05); the protein expressions of Caspase-3 and Bax in hippocampus decreased ( P<0.05), while the protein expressions of Bcl-2, p-CREB/CREB, BDNF, IGF-1, p-MEK/MEK, p-ERK/ERK, p-JNK/JNK and p-p38/p38 increased ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Electroacupuncture can improve neural function and depressive behavior in rats, reduce pathological damage in hippocampus, increase the number of Nissl bodies, and inhibit apoptosis. The mechanism of electroacupuncture may be related to the increase of IGF-1 and the activation of MAPK signaling pathway.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To clarify the resource status and diversity of endemic medicinal plants in Shaanxi province. METHODS The species specificity, species composition, faunal composition, family and genus types, medicinal value and endangerment degree of endemic medicinal plants in Shaanxi province were studied by literature review.RESULTS There were 713 species of 331 genera and 101 families endemic to Chinese medicinal plants in the study area. Fifteen species were naturally distributed only in Shaanxi province, and the remaining 698 species were also naturally distributed in other provinces of China. Among the 713 species, 233 species(69 families, 159 genera) were not collected from the fourth resource census in Shaanxi province. There were 11 species of pteridophytes in 7 families and 11 genera, 14 species of gymnosperms in 4 families and 10 genera, 627 species of dicotyledons in 82 families and 278 genera, and 59 species of monocots in 8 families and 32 genera. The endemic life forms of medicinal plants in the study area were mostly herbaceous, followed by shrubs and trees, and semi-shrubs and epiphytes accounted for the least. There were 9 families with ≥ 20 species and 4 families with ≥ 10 species in the study area. The 90 families belonging to the endemic species of medicinal plants in Shaanxi province were divided into 13 distribution types and 9 variations, and the tropical distribution(2-7 categories) had a total of 34 families. There were 5 endemic species of medicinal plants in the study area under the national class I key protection, and 14 species under the national class II key protection. There were 26 species of plants under local key protection in Shaanxi province. There were 21 plants that could be used as original plants for medicinal materials included in the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China(2020 edition). CONCLUSION The endemic species of medicinal plants in Shaanxi province are rich in resources and have good medicinal value. However, the growing environment of some plants is harsh and human damage is serious. Multiple protection measures should be taken to maintain the species diversity and sustainable development of resources in the study area.

Objective:To explore the independent risk factors that predict 10-year mortality in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods:The baseline data from a prospective cohort study were analyzed and long-term follow-up were performed. Patients with confirmed diagnosis of stable COPD were consecutively enrolled in the outpatient clinic from January 2010 to December 2010, and were followed up until December 31, 2020. Cox regression analysis was used to determine the independent risk factors for all-cause mortality and mortality from respiratory causes in stable COPD patients. Results:A total of 182 stable COPD patients were enrolled and followed up for a median of 89 months. The 10-year mortality was 51.1%(93/182), and 9 patients died within one year. The leading cause of death was respiratory disorder, followed by cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. The risk factors independently associated with all-cause mortality included old age( HR=1.936,95% CI: 1.610~2.328, P<0.01), increased baseline COPD Assessment Test(CAT)( HR=1.331,95% CI: 1.049-1.689, P=0.02) and the increased CAT in one year( HR=1.314,95% CI: 1.197-1.420, P<0.01). The risk factors independently associated with respiratory cause mortality included increased baseline CAT( HR=1.719,95% CI: 1.026-2.880, P=0.04), emphysema index(LAA%)( HR=1.062,95% CI: 1.007-1.120, P=0.03), and one year inecreased CAT( HR=1.342,95% CI: 1.198-1.505, P<0.01)was a protective factor. Conclusions:Old age, baseline CAT, one year increased in CAT and LAA% were independent influencing factors for 10-year mortality of stable COPD patients.
