From July 22 to 24, 2026, the 2nd International Symposium on Environment and Reproductive Health and the 20th National Postgraduates Symposium on Environmental and Occupational Medicine were successfully held in Shanghai. The conference brought together experts, scholars, young researchers, and graduate students from Harvard University, National University of Singapore, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Peking University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and other domestic and foreign universities and scientific research institutions to carry out in-depth exchanges on cutting-edge issues such as environment and reproductive health, environmental exposure and health effects, occupational health, disease risks, and toxicological mechanisms. The conference featured a main hall, multiple sessions, an editorial board memebers & experts forum, excellent paper reports, a postgraduate parallel forum, and keynote presentations. This postgraduate symposium, themed "Research and practice: Healing the schism", attracted a total of 113 papers. This year marked the first time that the National Postgraduates Symposium on Environmental and Occupational Medicine was jointly held with an international academic conference. It further expanded the high-level platform for academic exchange and young talent cultivating, and promoted the deep integration of scientific research innovation, achievement dissemination, and public health practice.

PURPOSE: This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of the ultrasonic jaw tracking system by comparing with the conventional electronic system in recording condylar movements. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twenty-six subjects with normal occlusion participated in the study. The CADIAX® 4 and Jaw Motion Analyzer (JMA) systems were used to record condylar movement trajectories during mandibular border movements (protrusive/retrusive, lateral, and wide mouth opening), with each movement repeated three times. Both systems used facebows and sensors to locate the condylar axis points and capture movement trajectory data. Paired t-tests were used for normally distributed data, while the Wilcoxon rank-sum test was applied to non-normally distributed data. The level of significance was set at α = .05. RESULTS: The maximum condylar displacement in the sagittal plane during mandibular border movements and the sagittal condylar inclination (SCI) values on both the left and right sides showed no significant difference between the two systems (P > .05). The Bennett angle (BA) values on both the left and right sides measured by the JMA system were significantly higher than those measured by the CADIAX® 4 system (P < .05). The comfort levels of the JMA system were significantly higher than the CADIAX® 4 system (P < .05). CONCLUSION Through this study, it was found that the accuracy of the ultrasonic jaw tracking system was comparable with the conventional electronic system, except for the Bennett angle measurement. In terms of comfort and ease of use, the ultrasonic jaw tracking system is more favored.

ObjectiveTo investigate the microbial contamination status of commercially available ready-to-eat (RTE) foods in Songjiang District of Shanghai, to verify the potential food safety hazards, so as to provide a scientific basis for the local regulation of RTE foods and the prevention of foodborne diseases. MethodsA total of 882 food samples from 9 categories of RTE foods were collected in Shanghai from 2017 to 2022. Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Staphyloccus aureus and Bacillus cereus were detected according to the standard operating procedures in the Manual for China National Food Contamination and Harmful Factors Risk Monitoring, and which were determined with reference to relevant standards. ResultsA total of 77 samples were found to carry foodborne pathogens, with a total detection rate of 8.73%. Among the 5 foodborne pathogens, Bacillus cereus had the highest detection rate (8.35%), followed by Vibrio parahaemolyticus (5.05%), and the difference of detection rates among the 5 foodborne pathogens was statistically significant (χ²=112.307, P<0.001). Among the 9 categories of RTE food products, the detection rate of foodborne pathogens in RTE fermented/non-fermented soybean products was the highest (27.50%), followed by cold noodles (17.33%) and raw edible aquatic products (9.50%), and the difference in the detection rates of foodborne pathogens among different RTE food categories was statistically significant (χ²=45.909, P<0.001). The detection rate of foodborne pathogens in the third quarter of the year was 10.99%, significantly higher than that in other quarters (χ²=10.329, P=0.016). The detection rate of foodborne pathogens in samples from supermarkets was highest (15.08%), followed by snack bars (11.58%), with a statistically significant difference (χ²=14.108, P=0.015). ConclusionFoodborne pathogens contamination is found in commercially available RTE foods in Songjiang District of Shanghai, especially in RTE fermented/non-fermented soybean products, RTE cold noodles and raw edible aquatic products from supermarkets, snack bars and farm products markets during summer and autumn. Therefore, it is crucial to strengthen supervision and management to avoid the foodborne diseases.

Objective To re-evaluate the systematic evaluation of effectiveness of preoperative exercise intervention in patients with lung cancer. Methods Literature in systematic reviews and meta-analyses of the effectiveness of preoperative exercise intervention among patients with lung cancer was retrieved from databases of PubMed,EMbase,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,CINAHL,Joanna Briggs Institute of Australia's Centre for Evidence-based Health Care Database(JBI),China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Data,VIP,and SinoMed from the inception to January 10,2024.Two reviewers independently screened the retrieved literature, extracted data, evaluated methodological quality, and summarised and graded the evidence. Results Eight systematic reviews were included.Methodological quality was rated moderate for one review, low for four, and very low for three.Preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and Meta-analyses was found comprehensive in three reviews, incomplete in four and seriously deficient in one.Seven outcome categories comprising 56 indicators were summarised and graded:nine indicators were of moderate certainty,29 of low certainty, and 18 of very low certainty.Pooled evidence from re-meta-analysis showed that preoperative exercises improved preoperative cardiopulmonary function, reduced the risk of post-operative pulmonary complications(PPCs),and shortened a hospital stay. Conclusion Preoperative exercise can improve patient outcomes after surgery. However, current studies often face methodological limitations, inadequate reporting standards and low-quality evidence.Future research should employ more rigorous designs and higher-quality evidence, including comparisons of different exercise modalities and durations, and provide a basis for developing efficient and optimally timed pre-operative exercise protocols.

This consensus will introduce the characteristics of fillers used in the surgical cavities of domestic nasal surgery patients based on relevant literature and expert opinions. It will also provide recommendations for the selection of cavity fillers for different nasal diseases, with chronic sinusitis as a representative example.
