Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common gynecological endocrine and reproductive disorder, with the main clinical manifestations including ovulation failure, insulin resistance, hyperandrogenism, and obesity. Its occurrence and development are closely related to cellular regulatory mechanisms such as apoptosis, autophagy, oxidative stress, and inflammatory response. Autophagy,as a clearance mechanism that maintains cellular homeostasis, plays a crucial role in maintaining the growth, development, and maturation of oocytes. Exploring the mechanism of autophagy during the occurrence and development of diseases can help develop treatment methods for PCOS by regulating autophagy. Studies have shown that autophagy plays an important role in the pathogenesis of PCOS,and it can affect the occurrence and development of PCOS through multiple pathways, levels, and targets. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) regulates autophagy in ovarian granulosa cells or endometrium of patients with PCOS by targeting the expression of autophagy signaling pathways, regulatory factors, and non-coding single-stranded RNA molecules, thereby alleviating inflammation, regulating metabolism disorders, and balancing hormone levels in PCOS. Accordingly,TCM can ameliorate pathological conditions such as insulin resistance, hyperandrogenism, and ovulation failure in PCOS. This article summarizes the TCM formulas and extracts for the treatment of PCOS,as well as the main autophagy pathways and regulatory factors involved, aiming to provide reference and suggestions for the future treatment of PCOS with TCM by regulating autophagy.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2025;46(9):1282-1286
Objective:
To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and changing trends of non suicidal self injury (NSSI) behaviors among middle school students in Jiading District of Shanghai, from 2015 to 2023, so as to provide a basis for the development of NSSI prevention and control measures among students.
Methods:
Using a stratified cluster random sampling method, a total of five times for Shanghai Adolescent Health Risk Behavior Surveys were conducted for every two years in Jiading District of Shanghai from 2015 to 2023. A total of 5 231 middle school students from junior high schools and senior high schools were selected for questionnaire surveys. Intergroup comparisons were performed using the x 2 test or the χ 2 trend test, and the JointPoint 5.0 software was used to analyze the changing trends, with the annual percent change (APC) used for evaluation. A binary Logistic regression model was employed to analyze the related factors of NSSI behavior among middle school students.
Results:
In 2023, the reported NSSI rate among middle school students in Jiading District was 14.2%. The rate was significantly higher among junior high school students (17.1%) than that among senior high school students (11.1%), and higher among females (19.2%) than that among males (10.0%) ( χ 2=10.04, 23.21, both P <0.01). From 2015 to 2023, the overall reported NSSI rate showed an increasing trend, rising from 8.6% in 2015 to 14.2% in 2023 ( χ 2 trend =22.25), with an APC of 6.64% ( t =3.49), and the APC for girls was 9.79 % ( t =3.20) (all P <0.05). Among students reporting NSSI, the proportion experiencing ≥6 episodes increased from 10.8% in 2015 to 19.2% in 2023 ( χ 2 trend =6.57, P <0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis indicated that girls, junior high school students, those with insomnia, depressive emotion and drinkers had higher risks of NSSI, compared to boys, senior high school students, those without insomnia, non depressive emotion students and non drinkers ( OR =1.71, 1.96, 3.44, 4.76, 1.77, all P < 0.05 ).
Conclusions
The reported rate of NSSI among middle school students in Jiading District of Shanghai, increased annually from 2015 to 2023, and the proportion of repeated NSSI also showed an upward trend. Early intervention measures targeting middle school students, especially junior high school students and females, should be implemented to prevent and control its occurrence and development.

OBJECTIVE:
In order to enhance the efficacy of anti-breast cancer, paclitaxel nanoparticles (PTX NPs) and polypyrrole nanoparticles (PPy NPs) were combined with photothermal therapy and chemotherapy. At the same time, the two dosage forms of PTX NPs and PTX NPs gel were compared.
METHODS:
PTX NPs were prepared by self-assembly method, and then the cytotoxicity in vitro was investigated by Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) and other methods, and the efficacy and side effects in vivo were further investigated.
RESULTS:
The average hydrated diameter, PDI and electric potential of PTX NPs were (210.20 ± 1.57) nm, (0.081 ± 0.003) mV and (15.80 ± 0.35) mV, respectively. MTT results showed that the IC50 value of PTX NPs on 4 T1 cells was 0.490 μg/mL, while that of PTX injection was 1.737 μg/mL. The cell inhibitory effect of PTX NPs was about 3.5 times higher than that of PTX injection. The tumor inhibition rates of PTX NPs and gel were 48.64% and 56.79%, respectively. Together with local photothermal stimulation, the tumor inhibition rate of the PTX NPs reached 91.05%, surpassing that of the gel under the same conditions (48.98%), moreover, the organ index and H&E staining results of PTX NPs showed a decrease in toxicity.
CONCLUSION
This combination therapy can significantly enhance the effect of anti-breast cancer, and the synergistic effect of chemotherapy and light and heat provides a feasible and effective strategy for the treatment of tumor.

Diabetic nephropathy(DN)is a significant causative factor of end-stage renal disease globally, and its pathogenesis involves dysregulation of multiple cellular and hormonal pathways.Podocytes play crucial roles in the process of DN,with the extent of podocyte injury closely associated with key pathological manifestations of renal damage, such as proteinuria, glomerular filtration rate, and glomerulosclerosis. However, due to the complexity and interplay of mechanisms contributing to podocyte injury, such as oxidative stress, abnormal lipid metabolism, and mitochondrial damage, the precise mechanisms underlying podocyte injury remain incompletely understood. This review integrated the latest research findings from both domestic and international studies on the core mechanisms of podocyte injury in DN.Furthermore, this article summarized the implications of these mechanisms for DN treatment, particularly focusing on potential therapeutic targets and the development of related pharmacological interventions derived from targeting podocyte injury pathways,so as to provide a theoretical foundation for the development of clinical therapeutic strategies for DN.

Purpose To explore the clinical and pathological features, differential diagnosis, treatment methods and prognosis of urachal adenocarcinoma. Methods Nineteen cases of urachal adenocarcinoma were collected and an-alyzed by combining clinical symptoms, auxiliary examinations, histology, immunohistochemical, and genetic testing and 11 cases of bladder adenocarcinomas. Results Among the 19 patients(15 males,4 females;age range:33-75 years,mean:55 years),tumors were located at the dome or anterior wall of the bladder.Histological subtypes includ-ed mucinous adenocarcinoma(6 cases),adenocarcinoma not otherwise specified(4 cases),enteric-type adenocarci-noma(6 cases),adenocarcinoma with focal mucinous differentiation(1 case),adenocarcinoma with signet-ring cell carcinoma(1 case),and metastatic urachal adenocarcinoma(1 case).Immunophenotypic analysis revealed membra-nous positivity for β-catenin,diffuse positivity for CK34βE 12,MUC-2,and CK20,focal CK7 positivity in some cases, and rare GATA-3 positivity.Mutations in p53 were observed, while KRAS,NRAS,BRAF,and PIK3CA mutations were absent. In colorectal adenocarcinomas,CK34βE12 positivity was 40%,nuclear β-catenin positivity was 48%,and MUC-2 expression was approximately 50%.In bladder adenocarcinomas,GATA-3 and MUC-2 positivity rates were 45%and 63.6%,respectively.Conclusion Distinguishing urachal adenocarcinoma from colorectal and primary bladder adenocarcinomas remains challenging.Urachal adenocarcinoma should be suspected in patients with anterior bladder wall or dome lesions, gross hematuria,or mucinuria. No definitive diagnostic markers currently exist for ura-chal adenocarcinoma.Immunophenotypic features such as membranous β-catenin,MUC-2,and CK7 positivity may fa-vor urachal adenocarcinoma over colorectal adenocarcinoma.Additional markers(e.g.,GATA-3,CK20,CK34βE12)aid in differential diagnosis, though individual markers lack specificity.Comprehensive evaluation integrating clinical presentation, imaging, and clinicopathological features is essential for accurate diagnosis.

IL-32 is a multifunctional cytokine with both pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory properties. It has been proved that expression of IL-32 increases with progression of gastric mucosal diseases and severity of gastric cancer(GC),thus participating in process of gastric"inflammation-cancer"transformation.However,how IL-32 affects malignant transformation of gastric"inflamma-tion-cancer"and finally leads to adverse outcome of GC invasion and migration is still controversial. In order to better clarify regulatory effect and possible mechanism of abnormal expression of IL-32 on different histopathological stages of gastric"inflammation-cancer"transformation,and to explore new directions and breakthroughs in molecular mechanism of early truncation and treatment of gastric precancerous lesion(GPL),we searched literatures related to IL-32 in six authoritative databases at home and abroad, such as Pubmed,Web of Science and CNKI,in past 30 years. It was found that pathogenicity or protective function of IL-32 in different histo-pathological stages of gastric"inflammation-cancer"transformation depended on its different subtypes, secretory forms, surrounding cytokine environment, disease status and genetic factors.IL-32 may regulate polarization of macrophages through NF-κB,MAPK,COX2,PR3,IDO,NOD,PKCδ,FAK and STAT3,amplify or inhibit chronic inflammatory stimulation of gastric mucosa, and thus participate in process of gastric"inflammation-cancer"transformation.Our new understanding of role of IL-32 in different stages of Cor-rea cascade may contribute to development of cytokine-directed therapy, and therapy aimed at regulating different alternative splicing subtypes of IL-32 and targeting IL-32 signals can be used as a new strategy for medical treatment of GPL and GC in future.
