Animal model research on spleen and stomach diseases in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is of great significance for elucidating the nature of diseases and syndromes and for revealing the mechanisms of action of Chinese herbal medicinals. At present, studies on classical TCM syndrome models of spleen and stomach diseases mainly focus on spleen deficiency syndrome, liver constraint syndrome, and damp-heat syndrome. Model construction is mostly based on the etiological and pathophysiological characteristics of syndrome, and model evaluation primarily involves macroscopic manifestations and physicochemical indicators. This paper summarizes the current research status of animal models integrating disease and syndrome for seven common spleen and stomach diseases, including chronic gastritis and gastric precancerous lesions, gastroesophageal reflux disease, functional dyspepsia, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, functional constipation, and functional diarrhea. The modeling methods and characteristics of disease-syndrome combined animal models for each disease are analyzed. It is proposed that future research on disease-syndrome integration in spleen and stomach diseases should move toward syste-matic, precise, and integrative development, and that interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research approaches should be adopted to enhance the predictive value and application efficiency of disease-syndrome combined animal models.

Objective To analyze the monitoring results of occupational hazard factors (OHF) in the workplace of key industries in Shaoguan City from 2021 to 2024. Methods A total of 486 enterprises of key industries in Shaoguan City, selected from the "Occupational Diseases Hazardous Items Reporting System" and the "Guangdong Provincial Occupational Health Quality Control Platform" from 2021 to 2024, were used as the research subjects. Data on the declaration of occupational hazard projects, the exposure to OHF and the occupational medical examinations for workers, the usage of protective equipment and the setup of protection facilities in enterprises, and the monitoring results of OHF were analyzed. Results From 2021 to 2024, a total of 486 enterprises of key industries in Shaoguan City were monitored, and the detection rate of OHF exceeding national standard was 57.0%. The exceedance rates in medium/large enterprises and small/micro enterprises were 67.1% and 55.0%, respectively. A total of 51 771 worker-exposures to OHF were recorded, with an exposure rate of 55.8%. Training coverage for enterprise managers, occupational health personnel, and workers were 96.7%, 97.1%, and 98.7%, respectively. Abnormal rates in occupational medical examinations were 3.3%, 0.2%, and 0.8% among workers exposed to noise, dust, and chemical factors, respectively. Provision rates of dust respirators, chemical respirators, hearing protection devices (earplugs and earmuffs) were 93.2%, 85.4% and 86.8%, respectively, with wearing compliance rates of 98.7%, 98.8% and 97.1%. Installation rates of dust control, chemical hazard control, and noise control facilities were 97.2%, 90.3%, and 69.9%, respectively, and all facilities were 100.0% effective. Exceedance rates for OHF and noise increased annually (all P<0.05), whereas those for dust and chemical factors decreased (all P<0.05). The exceedance rates of work position from high to low were dust (18.1%), noise (17.1%) and chemical factors (6.4%). Lead-related position had the highest exceedance rate (31.9%). Industries with higher exceedance rates included metal products manufacturing (27.3%), ferrous metal smelting and rolling (24.1%), and non-metallic mineral products manufacturing (23.7%). Conclusion Workplaces in key industries of Shaoguan City face relatively high risks of occupational hazards. It is essential to focus on noise management, with efforts to strengthen occupational health supervision and guidance for small/micro enterprises as well as industries with severe occupational hazards, promoting the standardization of occupational health management.

Objective:To explore the epidemiological characteristics, risk factors, preventions and treatments of recent human parvovirus B19 (HPV-B19) infections in recipients of renal transplantation (RT).Methods:From May 2020 to June 2021, retrospective review was conducted for epidemiological characteristics, treatment protocols, preventions and outcomes of HPV-B19 infected recipients after RT.Risk factors were analyzed using uninfected recipients after RT in the same period as controls. And 78 recipients who were not infected after RT with similar operation time were used as a control group for risk factor analysis. The infection rates of the four liver transplant recipients infected with HPV-B19 during the same period were calculated and compared with those of the kidney transplant recipients.Chi-square test and Fisher's exact test were used for statistical analysis. Results:During the observation period, HPV-B19 infection occurred in 39/368 recipients after RT with an overall infection rate of 10.60%(39/368). In terms of clinical symptoms, all 39 recipients presented with pure red cell aplasia (PRCA). In terms of season of infection, HPV-B19 infections occurred predominantly in autumn and winter [74.3% (29/39) of infections in autumn and winter, including 48.7% (19/39) in autumn]. Comparing the infection rates of different transplant recipients, 4 out of 123 liver transplant recipients were infected with HPV-B19 during the same period. The rate of infection was lower in liver transplant recipients than in RT counterparts (3.25% vs.10.60%, χ2=6.225, P=0.013). Analysis of OR values showed that transfusion of blood products was a risk factor for recent postoperative infection ( χ2=4.806, P=0.028, OR=2.418, 95% CI=1.088-5.373). Conclusions:HPV-B19 infection in renal transplant patients is mainly manifested as PRCA and is more likely than in liver transplant patients.Autumn and winter may be susceptible seasons for HPV-B19 and protection should be increased to prevent infection.Transfusion of blood products is a risk factor for recent HPV-B19 infection after RT, therefore donors should be routinely examined and it is imperative to test the safety of blood products in patients after RT.Thus HPV-B19 infection is well-controlled so that further spread may be prevented to avoid an epidemic outbreak.

Objective:To observe the safety and efficacy of early conversion into a simplified once-daily immunosuppressive regimen of sirolimus plus low-dose extended-release tacrolimus in kidney transplant recipients. Methods:From April 2019 to August 2020, clinical data were collected from 44 recipients (22 pairs) of kidney transplantation. Two kidneys from the same donor were randomly divided into observed and control groups. The immunosuppressive regimen of two groups was the same within 1 month post-transplantation, i. e. tacrolimus plus mycophenolatemofetil (or mycophenolate sodium) and prednisone. Then the immunosuppressive regimen of observed group was switched into a simplified once-daily regimen of sirolimus plus low-dose extended-release tacrolimus and prednisone while control group remained unchanged. The changes of graft function, proteinuria and the incidence of related adverse events were recorded. Results:No inter-group difference existed in serum level of creatinine at Month 1 post-transplantation (163.40±51.57 vs 166.10±49.48 μmol/L). After regimen conversion, serum level of creatinine was slightly lower in observed group than that in control group at Months 3 and 6 post-transplantation (130.10±30.10 vs 134.90±28.97, 121.50±24.96 vs 136.30±27.06). However, there was no statistic difference. The 24-hour urinary total trace protein was slightly higher in observed group than that in control group (331.20±84.21 vs 279.50±80.91 and 209.60±66.02 vs 179.50±37.60 mg/24 h) at Months 3 and 6 post-transplantation. However, there was no statistic difference. No inter-group difference existed in the incidence of drug side effects or other adverse events. Conclusions:In kidney transplant recipients at Month 1 post-transplantation, a conversion of immunosuppressive regimen into a simplified once-daily of sirolimus plus low-dose extended-release tacrolimus can significantly boost patient compliance without an elevated risk of drug side effects or adverse events and offer an advantage of reducing nephrotoxicity.

Objective Toinvestigatetheriskfactorsforleukoaraiosis(LA)inpatientswithlarge arteryatherosclerosis(LAA).Methods Theclinicaldata(age, sex, hypertension, diabetes, smoking, serum lipid level, hyperhomocysteinemia, and numbers of stenosis or occluded cerebral arteries)of 312 patients with LAA classified by the modified stop stroke study trial of Org 10172 in acute stroke treatment (SSS-TOAST ) were analyzed retrospectively. The age-related white matter changes (age related white matter changes,ARWMC)scale was used to evaluate LA. All the 312 patients were divided into non-LA group(n=72)and LA group(n=240)according the T2 weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and fluid attenuated inversion recovery(FLAIR)sequence, and 3 groups according to the (age-related white matter changes,ARWMC)scores:mild LA,moderate LA,and severe LA groups. The patients with multiple risk factors were analyzed by the univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analyses. Results (1)Of the 312 patients with LA,227 were males (72. 8%). Their average age was 64 ± 11 years, and 240 of them (76. 9%)had LA. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age (OR,2. 911,95%CI 1. 647-5.146,P=0. 000),hypertension (OR,2. 583,95%CI 1. 373-4.857,P<0. 01),diabetes (OR,1. 882, 95%CI 1. 058-3. 348,P <0. 05),the numbers of stenosis or occlusion arteries (OR,1. 851,95%CI 1.018-3. 367,P<0. 05),and lacunar infarction (LI)(OR,1.493,95%CI 1. 202-1. 853,P<0. 01)were the risk factors for LA. (2)The comparison of the clinical data in patients with different severity in the LA group found that there were significant differences in age, hypertension, diabetes, the numbers of stenosis or occlusionarteries,andLIamongthe3groups(allP<0.05).Conclusion Age,hypertension, diabetes, the numbers of stenosis or occlusion arteries, and LI are the independent risk factors for patients with LAA,and it is associated with the severity of LA.
