OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical efficacy of stuck acupuncture combined with facial acupuncture for facial cosmetology. METHODS: A total of 22 female patients with symptoms of facial aging were treated with stuck acupuncture combined with facial acupuncture. Stuck acupuncture was applied at bilateral Taiyang (EX-HN5) through Xiaguan (ST7), Jiache (ST6) through Daying (ST5) and Yingxiang (LI20)，once a week. Facial acupuncture was applied at Yintang (GV24⁺), ashi points (nasolabial fold) and bilateral Yangbai (GB14), Quanliao (SI18), Sibai (ST2), Xiaguan (ST7), Dicang (ST4), Jiache (ST6), Daying (ST5), Renying (ST9), twice a week. Four weeks were required. The global aesthetic improvement scale (GAIS) score after treatment, wrinkle severity rating scale (WSRS) score before and after treatment were observed. The quantitative analysis of skin characteristics was performed before and after treatment. RESULTS: After treatment, of the 22 patients, 3 cases had complete improvement, 15 cases had obvious improvement, 4 cases had partial improvement, 0 case had no improvement. The WSRS score and scores of wrinkles, textures and pores were decreased compared with those before treatment (P<0.01). CONCLUSION Stuck acupuncture combined with facial acupuncture could effectively improve the symptoms of facial aging.

Based on the theory of the five-body constituents from Huangdi Neijing (Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic), the approach and methods of acupuncture for facial aging are explored. Acupuncture for facial aging can be guided by the concept of the five-body constituents, targeting the facial "skin, flesh, vessels, tendons, and bones", and utilizing five different types of needles-facial needles, needle knives, filiform needles, retaining needles, and elongated needles and filiform needles-to maximize their respective advantages in treating facial aging. Facial needles are applied to the "skin" by selecting facial acupoints or local ashi points (at wrinkle or pigmentation sites). Needle knives are used for the "flesh" to perform longitudinal dredging and transverse dissection of the facial muscle layers. Filiform needles target the "vessels" with needling at Renying (ST9) to improve facial complexion. Retaining needles act on the "tendons" with needling from Taiyang (EX-HN5) to Xiaguan (ST7), and Jiache (ST6) to Daying (ST5), using clockwise twisting to generate a retaining needle sensation and lifting to achieve an overall facial lifting effect.

Objective:To investigate the effect of up-regulation of microRNA-31(miRNA-31)on the osteogenic differentiation of dental pulp stem cells(DPSCs),and to elucidate its possible mechanism.Methods:The DPSCs in logarithmic growth phase were divided into control group(no treatment),NC group(transfected with random sequence control),Agomir group(transfected withmiR-31 mimic agomiR-31),and combination group(transfected with miR-31 mimic agomiR-31 and added with XAV939).After 48 h of transfection,real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR)was used to detect the expression levels of miR-31 in the DPSCs in various groups.MTT assay was used to detect the proliferation abilities of the DPSCs in various groups.Alizarin red staining was used to detect calcium deposition in the DPSCs in various groups.Alkaline phosphatase(ALP)staining was used to detect the degree of osteogenic differentiation of the DPSCs in various groups.Western blotting method was used to detect the expression levels of proteins related to the wingless-type MMTV integration site family(Wnt)/β-catenin signaling pathway in the DPSCs in various groups.Results:There were no significant differences in the miR-31 expression level,the cell proliferation abilities at 24,48 and 72 h,the ratio of calcified region,and the ALP ability between control group and NC group(P＞0.05).Compared with control group and NC group,the expression level of miR-31,the cell proliferation abilities at 24,48 and 72 h,the ratio of calcified region,and the ALP activity in the DPSCs in Agomir group were increased(P＜0.05).Compared with Agomir group,the expression level of miR-31,the cell proliferation abilities at 24,48 and 72 h,the ratio of calcified region,and the ALP activity in the DPSCs in combination group were decreased(P＜0.05).There were no significant difference in the expression levels of glycogen synthase kinase 3β(GSK-3β),β-catenin and Runt-associated transcription factor 2(Runx2)in the DPSCs between control group and NC group(P＞0.05).Compared with control group and NC group,the expression level of GSK-3β protein in the DPSCs in Agomir group was decreased(P＜0.05),and the expression levels of β-catenin and Runx2 proteins in the DPSCs were increased(P＜0.05).Compared with Agomir group,the expression level of GSK-3β protein in the DPSCs in combination group was increased(P＜0.05),while the expression levels of β-catenin and Runx2 proteins were decreased(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Up-regulation of miR-31 can promote the proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of DPSCs,and its mechanism may be related to the activation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy and safety of 1 470 nm laser en bloc resection of bladder tumor(1 470 nm-EBRBT)and transurethral resection of bladder tumor(TUR-BT).Methods Clinical data of 85 non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer(NMIBC)patients from June 2018 to June 2021 were analyzed retrospectively.The patients were divided into 1 470 nm-EBRBT group(n=40)and TUR-BT group(n=45)according to different surgical methods,the postoperative chemotherapy regimen of bladder perfusion was the same in both groups.The surgical safety,clinical efficacy,pathological results and recurrence free survival rate of two groups were recorded.Results There were no statistically significant differences in operation time,incidence of bladder perforation,and incidence of postoperative delayed hemorrhage between the two groups(P＞0.05).Compared with the TUR-BT group,the 1 470 nm-EBRBT group had less blood loss,shorter bladder irrigation time,catheter indwelling time and postoperative hospital time,and no obturator nerve reflex,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The proportion of detrusor in the first resected pathological specimens in 1 470 nm-EBRBT group was higher than that in TUR-BT group(P＜0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in tumor recurrence rate of one year,tumor cumulative recurrence rate of two years and recurrence free survival time between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Compared with traditional TUR-BT,1 470 nm-EBRBT is a safe and effective method,which has the advantages of complete pathological specimens,fewer complications,faster recovery and so on.Therefore,it is worthy of clinical application.

Objective:To improve the teaching quality of Medical Microbiology by optimizing the teaching method,adjusting the teaching content and reforming the assessment model.Methods:The students of grade 2020 and 2021 of the same major were divided into the control group and the reform group.The control group received the traditional teaching method.The reform group received the"online + offline"blended teaching method,which integrates online learning resources and ideological and political education into the theoretical content of the curriculum.And the whole process assessment system was applied to the teaching method.The teaching quality was evaluated by the whole process examination results and questionnaire survey.Results:Compared with the control group,the score in the reform group was significantly improved(P＜0.01).Results of the questionnaire survey showed that students'satisfaction with the mixed teaching method reached 97.5% .The integration of hot issues of microbiology and curriculum ideological and political education significantly improved students'learning interest,and more students wanted to engage in the work of microbiology related fields in the future.Conclusion:The practice results show that optimizing the teaching method,adjusting the teaching content and reforming the assessment mode can stimulate the students'learning interest,improve the students'independent learning ability and improve the teaching quality.

BACKGROUND:Vertigo is closely related to clinical neurological disorders.When neurons are damaged or dead,it may lead to abnormalities in the vestibular system and trigger vertigo symptoms.Therefore,it is necessary to explore and analyze the hotspots related to vertigo that are common in clinical neurology. OBJECTIVE:To analyze the vertigo-related histopathological changes in clinical neurology and the research hotspots worldwide using bibliometric methods. METHODS:The WanFang database and Web of Science core set database were searched by the first author to retrieve the research-related literature published from 2014-2023 on the treatment of common vertigo in clinical neurology.A bibliometric analysis of the number of publications,country/region,institution,keywords,co-cited literature,and highly cited literature was peformed using VOSviewer_1.6.19 software to summarize the research hotspots in this research field. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Web of Science core set database had the highest number of 174 publications in this field in 2022,and WanFang database had the highest number of 133 publications in this field in 2020.The top 3 countries with the highest number of publications are the United States,Germany,and China.The University of Munich,Germany is the international institution with the highest number of publications in this field,while Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the Chinese institution with the highest number of publications in this field.The results of keyword analysis showed that the research hotspot diseases in this field in China are mainly Meniere's disease,cervical vertigo,senile vertigo,benign paroxysmal positional vertigo,isolated vertigo,and hypertensive vertigo,and the treatments include acupuncture,rehabilitation,medication(gastrodin,Banxia Baizhu Tianma Tang),and manipulative reduction.International research hotspot diseases in this field mainly include benign paroxysmal positional vertigo,vestibular disorders in new coronavirus cases,Meniere's disease,vestibular schwannoma,acoustic neuromas,and vestibular migraines,etc.,and the hotspot treatments are antivertiginous medications,antidepressant and anxiolytic treatments,and microsurgery.The results of literature co-citation analysis showed that for acute vestibular syndrome with persistent vertigo as the main symptom,three-step bedside ophthalmoscopy(HINTS:Head-Impact-Nystagmus-Strabismus Test)is more sensitive than early MRI in the diagnosis of combined strokes in patients with acute vestibular syndrome,which is the most peer-recognized method of detecting strokes in vestibular syndrome,whereas hormonal therapy is more effective to treat vestibular neuritis patients with paroxysmal vertigo as the main symptom.The results of highly cited literature analysis showed that,in the hot literature included in WanFang database in the past 10 years,acupuncture at Fengchi point and the acupuncture method of inducing resuscitation to improve posterior circulation ischemic vertigo have achieved certain results.The literature published in the past 3 years has indicated that Ginkgo biloba leaf extract+gastrodin,acupuncture+Banxia Baizhu Tang,betahistine+gastrodin,vestibular rehabilitation training+Epley Maneuver,all can improve the vertigo symptoms to different degrees.While there were no featured anti-vertigo drugs indicated in the literature in the Web of Science core set data in the recent 10 years,and most of them are based on traditional anti-vertigo drugs and microsurgery.However,there are a few case reports in the international literature in the last 3 years that found that COVID-19 infection may lead to vestibular neuritis and vertigo symptoms.The onset and progression of vertigo may be closely related to neuronal damage and regeneration.For example,viral infections,inflammatory stimuli,or other pathologic factors may lead to neuronal damage or death,thereby affecting the function of the vestibular system.Vertigo-related diagnosis and treatment standardization guidelines have been published both domestically and internationally.Currently,international guidelines recommend the combination of vestibular rehabilitation and physical rehabilitation for the treatment of vertigo,and Chinese guidelines recommend the combination of Chinese and Western medicine,reduction and acupuncture.However,the level of evidence is not very high,so a large number of large-sample,multicenter randomized controlled trials on anti-vertigo treatment are needed in the future.

Objective:To explore the feasibility and efficacy for the dissection and ligation of the superior laryngeal artery in endoscopic surgery for hypopharyngeal cancer.Methods:Eight cadaveric heads were selected, and the laryngopharynxes were harvested. The positions of the superior laryngeal arteries entering the larynxes were dissected and observed under endoscopic vision, and their anatomical characteristics were summarized. Twenty-nine patients (all were male, aged 39-74 years old) with hypopharyngeal cancer who underwent transoral endoscopic surgery at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery of the Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University from January 2018 to December 2019 were selected, and the patients were randomly divided into two groups by drawing lots, namely, the superior laryngeal artery was actively dissected and occluded during surgery in observation group ( n=15) or not in control group ( n=14). The differences in surgical time, bleeding volume, postoperative complications, and postoperative disease-free survival rate were compared between the two groups. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 25.0 software. Results:The entry point of the superior laryngeal artery into the larynx was approximately at the level of the superior edge of the thyroid cartilage, and entered the larynx at the posterior one-third of the lateral wall of the pyriform fossa. The superior laryngeal artery might be determined through endoscopic exploration in all patients of observation group. The endoscopic surgery time [(40.00±7.56) minutes] and intraoperative bleeding volume [(24.00±8.28) ml] in the observation group were respectively less than those [(48.57±14.06) minutes and (42.86±15.41) ml] in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant ( t=-2.064, P=0.049; t=-4.064, P=0.001). There was no case with postoperative bleeding in the observation group, but with one case of postoperative bleeding in the control group. Total disease free survival rate was 86.2% and there was no significant difference in disease free survival rates between the two groups during a follow-up period of at least 36 months ( P=0.986). Conclusion:Dissection of the superior laryngeal artery during endoscopic surgery for hypopharyngeal cancer is feasible, and pre-management and occlusion of the superior laryngeal artery can effectively reduce intraoperative bleeding.

68Ga-DOTATATE/18F-FDG two-day low-dose total-body PET/CT imaging is increasingly employed to facilitate the diagnosis,prognosis,and heterogeneity assessment of neuroendocrine neoplasms.We present a consensus on operational guideline for a two-day combined imaging from experts in low-dose/ultra-low-dose total-body PET/CT from several domestic medical institutions.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the mechanisms underlying the antidepressant effect of ZBH2012001,a novel serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor(SNRI),in general and its ability to enhance monoaminergic transmission and suppress neuroinflammation in particular.METHODS① Male ICR mice were divided into vehicle(distilled water),duloxetine(DLX,10 or 20 mg·kg-1)and ZBH2012001(5,10 and 20 mg·kg-1)groups.One hour following ig administration,the antidepressant effect of ZBH2012001 was evaluated using the tail suspension test(TST)and forced swimming test(FST).② Radioligand binding assay was conducted to evaluate the affinity of ZBH2012001 for human serotonin transporters(hSERTs)and human norepinephrine transporters(hNETs).③ Mice were divided into vehicle(distilled water),DLX(10 or 20 mg·kg-1)and ZBH2012001(5,10 and 20 mg·kg-1)groups.One hour following drug administration,the 5-hydroxytryptophan(5-HTP)-induced head-twitch test or yohimbine-induced lethality test were performed to evaluate the effect of ZBH2012001 on the function of the 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)and norepinephrine(NE)systems.④ Mice were divided into vehicle(distilled water+0.1%acetic acid),reserpine model(distilled water+reserpine 5 mg·kg-1),DLX(DLX 20 mg·kg-1+reserpine 5 mg·kg-1)and ZBH2012001(ZBH2012001 5,10 and 20 mg·kg-1+reserpine 5 mg·kg-1)groups.One hour following drug administration,reserpine was injected intraperitoneally to establish a monoamine-depletion model.The ptosis,akinesia,and hypothermia assays were performed to evaluate the effect of ZBH2012001 on the down-regulation of the reserpine-induced monoamine system.The TST in mice was used to evaluate the effect of ZBH2012001 on reserpine-induced depressive-like behavior while high-performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection(HPLC-ECD)was used to measure the levels of monoamines and their metabolites in the hippocampal tissue of reserpine-induced monoamine-depletion mice.ELISA was employed to detect the contents of tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)and interleukin-6(IL-6)in the hippocampal tissue of reserpine-induced monoamine-depletion mice.Western blotting was used to assess the expressions of ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule-1(Iba-1)and nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)in the hippocampal tissue of reserpine-induced monoamine-depletion mice.RESULTS ① Compared with the vehicle group,ZBH2012001(5,10 and 20 mg·kg-1)significantly reduced the immobility time both in the TST in mice(P<0.01,respectively),and ZBH2012001(20 mg·kg-1)and in the FST in mice(P<0.05).② ZBH2012001 competitively inhibited the binding of[3H]-imipramine to hSERTs and[3H]-nisoxetine to hNETs,with the half maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50)values of 84.95 and 712.90 nmol·L-1,respectively.③Com-pared with the vehicle group,ZBH2012001(10 and 20 mg·kg-1)significantly increased the head twitches induced by 5-HTP in mice(P<0.01,respectively)and increased the mortality rate in mice induced by yohimbine(P<0.05,P<0.01).④ In the reserpine-induced monoamine-depletion model in mice,compared with the vehicle group,mice in the reserpine model group exhibited ptosis,akinesia and hypothermia feature(P<0.01,respectively),significantly prolonged immobility time in the TST(P<0.01),significantly decreased the levels of NE,5-HT and dopamine(DA)(P<0.05,P<0.01),significantly increased the metabolic conversion rate of 5-HT and DA(P<0.01,respectively),significantly elevated levels of TNF-α and IL-6(P<0.05,respectively),and significantly increased expressions of Iba-1 and NF-κB(P<0.05,respectively)in the hippocampus.Compared with the model group,ZBH2012001(5,10 and 20 mg·kg-1)significantly antagonized ptosis and hypothermia behaviors induced by reserpine(P<0.01,respectively),ZBH2012001(10 and 20 mg·kg-1)significantly shortened the immobility time in reserpine-treated mice(P<0.05,P<0.01),ZBH2012001(20 mg·kg-1)significantly increased the levels of NE and 5-HT in the hippocampus of reserpine-treated mice(P<0.05,respectively),decreased the metabolic conversion rate of 5-HT(P<0.05),significantly reduced the contents of TNF-α and IL-6 in the hippocampus of reserpine-treated mice(P<0.05,respectively),ZBH2012001(5,10 and 20 mg·kg-1)significantly reduced the expression of Iba-1 protein in the hippocampus of reserpine-treated mice(P<0.01,respec-tively),and ZBH2012001(20 mg·kg-1)significantly reduced the expression of NF-κB protein in the hippocampus of reserpine-treated mice(P<0.05).CONCLUSION ZBH2012001 exerts its antidepres-sant effect through a dual mechanism involving monoamine enhancement and inflammation suppres-sion.
