Objective:To explore the real-life experiences of patients six months after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG), aiming to provide a reference for developing intervention plans. Methods:This was a descriptive phenomenological study. Purposeful sampling and maximum variation sampling were used to select 24 patients who underwent LSG at the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University from February to August 2023. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted, and the Colaizzi 7-step analysis method was applied to inductively extract and refine the themes. Results:A total of six main themes and ten sub-themes were identified through analysis. The main themes were: desires to improve postoperative physical symptoms (gastrointestinal symptoms, hair loss, neurological symptoms, and general symptoms) ; perception of subjective emotions (anxiety, regret, fear, and confidence) ; decreased social adaptability (decline in work ability, impaired social skills) ; general low compliance; desire for professional guidance; and postoperative benefit finding. Conclusions:Six months after LSG, patients primarily experienced physical symptom disturbances, poor psychological states, decreased social adaptability, low compliance, and a desire for professional guidance. However, they also recognized various benefits of the surgery. Healthcare providers should strengthen dynamic symptom assessments and management, guide patients psychologically, enhance social support, and actively improve follow-up and continuous care to help patients improve self-coping abilities and weight loss outcomes.

Objective:To retrieve, screen, and synthesize the best available evidence related to perioperative blood glucose management in patients undergoing bariatric and metabolic surgery. Methods:Relevantliterature on perioperative blood glucose management in bariatric and metabolic surgery patients was retrieved from Chinese and English databases using a top-down strategy based on the "6S" evidence-based model. The search period was from database inception to June 30, 2024. Two evidence-based trained researchers independently screened the literature according to inclusion criteria, assessed methodological quality, and extracted and synthesized the evidence. Results:Fourteen articles were eventually included, comprising five clinical practice guidelines, four expert consensus, two systematic reviews, one evidence summary, and two randomized controlled trials. Eighteen pieces of best evidence were synthesized across seven dimensions: principles of glycemic management, target blood glucose levels, management of hypoglycemic agents, very-low-calorie diet intervention, treatment of postoperative hypoglycemia treatment, self-monitoring of blood glucose, and follow-up and guidance. Conclusions:The best evidence extracted in this study is scientifically sound and clinically applicable, providing evidence-based support and decision-making guidance for perioperative blood glucose management in patients undergoing bariatric and metabolic surgery. However, clinical practitioners need to apply it selectively in the context of hospital and departmental realities when applying it in practice.

Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, as the significantly effective weight loss surgery currently recognized, is widely used at home and abroad, and the quality of life of postoperative patients also receives widespread attention. At present, domestic researchers often use universal scales to evaluate the quality of life of postoperative patients, but such scales cannot truly reflect the quality of life of postoperative patients. This paper reviews the universal and specific assessment tools for quality of life in patients after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, elaborates on the advantages and disadvantages of each tool, compares and analyzes the specific assessment tools, and proposes the shortcomings of the specific assessment tools and future research directions. The aim is to provide a reference for selecting and developing suitable assessment tools for the quality of life of patients after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy in China.

With the application of accelerated rehabilitation surgery mode in metabolic bariatric surgery, the postoperative hospital stay of patients is gradually shortened, but it also leads to the lack of postoperative knowledge of patients after discharge. Adequate guidance on discharge readiness is beneficial for improving the self-management ability of patients and improving dietary, medication and exercise compliance. This paper reviews the status quo, assessment tools, influencing factors and intervention measures of discharge readiness of patients undergoing metabolic bariatric surgery, in order to provide references and ideas for developing discharge readiness evaluation tools and related studies for patients undergoing metabolic bariatric surgery in China.

Objective To assess the effectiveness and safety of heat moisture exchangers (HMEs) on the artificial airway humid-ification in the mechanically ventilated patients .Methods The related literature in the Cochrane Library ,PubMed ,Embase ,CNKI , VIP ,WanFang database and CBM from the establishment to March 2012 were retrieved ,then included the randomized controlled trial(RCT) and quasi-RCT on the effect of HMEs for the artificial airway humidification in the mechanically ventilated patients were performed the meta analysis by using RevMan 5 .1 .2 software .Results 19 RCT were included(involving 2 960 patients) , which were the random parallel controlled trials .The meta analysis results showed that HMEs could not reduce the incidence rate of ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP)(RR=0 .78 ,95% CI 0 .61-1 .01 ,P=0 .06) ,also could not decrease the hospitalization mor-tality(RR=0 .94 ,95% CI 0 .83-1 .08 ,P=0 .40) ,the length of ICU stay(MD= -0 .32 ,95% CI -3 .13 -2 .50 ,P=0 .82) and the occurrence rate of catheter occlusion (RR=0 .65 ,95% CI 0 .22 -1 .93 ,P= 0 .44) ,the differences between the two groups had no statistical significance .But 5 RCT reported that using HMEs could reduce the patient′s costs .Conclusion HMEs can not reduce the incidence rate of VAP ,mortality ,length of ICU stay ,occurrence rate of airway occlusion ,but can cut down the patient′s cost . Due to the risk of bias existing in all included RCT and the low quality of the obtained evidences ,more strictly designed and imple-mented RCTs are needed to further verify thse evidences .
