Objective To analyze the occupational health literacy (OHL) level and its influencing factors of workers in non-metallic mineral product industry in Yunfu City. Methods A total of 947 frontline workers from 24 non-metallic mineral products enterprises in Yunfu City were selected as the research subjects using the stratified random sampling method. The OHL level of the workers were assessed using the Occupational Health Literacy Questionnaire of National Key Populations. Results The overall OHL level of the research subjects was 58.3% (552/947). The OHL levels across four dimensions, from highest to lowest, were basic knowledge of occupational health protection (94.7%), healthy work practices and behaviors (81.8%), legal knowledge of occupational health (65.5%), and basic skills of occupational health protection (25.9%). The results of binary logistic regression analysis showed that workers with 2.0-<10.0 years and ≥10 years of work experience had higher OHL levels than those with <2.0 years of work experience (all P<0.01). Workers with a high school education or above had higher OHL levels than those with a junior high school education or below (all P<0.01). Workers in large- and medium-sized enterprises had higher OHL levels than those in small and micro-sized enterprises (both P<0.01). Conclusion The OHL levels of workers in Yunfu City's non-metallic mineral products industry can be further improved, particularly the occupational health protection skills and related legal knowledge. Workers with short seniority, low educational level, and in small and micro enterprises should be the key groups for improving OHL levels.

Objective To investigate the influence of repeated open field tests， novel object recognition tests， and Barnes maze behavioral tests within a short term on cognitive and anxiety assessment in 3xTg-AD mice.Methods Four groups of 3xTg-AD mice， aged 12 months， were obtained using different pretreatment regimens， and the mice in the experimental groups 1-3 were treated with different drugs， while those in the control group were treated with normal saline. The open field test， the novel object recognition test， and the Barnes maze test were performed on mice successively. A behavioral video analysis system was used to record the locomotor trajectories of the mice and analyze the parameters such as time spent in the central area， exploration time for novel versus familiar objects， and latency to reach the target hole. After one session of complete tests， three sessions were performed repeatedly， and all tests were completed within one month.Results With the increase in the number of repeated tests， there was a significant reduction in the time spent in the central area in the open field test （P<0.05）； in the novel object recognition test， there was an increase in the coefficient of variation for object recognition index and a reduction in exploratory behavior towards both the new environment and the novel objects； in the Barnes maze test， there was no significant difference in the latency to reach the target hole across the four tests， suggesting good reproducibility.Conclusion Repeated tests within a short term can interfere with the evaluation of anxiety status in 3xTg-AD mice in the open field test and their preference for novel objects in the novel object recognition test， but it has no obvious influence on the latency to reach the target hole in the Barnes maze test. Whether behavioral tests can be performed repeatedly in 3xTg-AD mice should be determined based on different tests.

BACKGROUND: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) sensitive mutation is one of the effective targets of targeted therapy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, due to the difficulty of obtaining some primary tissues and the economic factors in some underdeveloped areas, some patients cannot undergo traditional genetic testing. The aim of this study is to establish a machine learning (ML) model using non-invasive peripheral blood markers to explore the biomarkers closely related to EGFR mutation status in NSCLC and evaluate their potential prognostic value. METHODS: 2642 lung cancer patients who visited Jiangsu Cancer Hospital from November 2016 to May 2023 were retrospectively enrolled and finally 175 NSCLC patients with complete follow-up data were included in the study. The ML model was constructed based on peripheral blood indicators and divided into training set and test set according to the ratio of 8:2. Unsupervised learning algorithms were used for clustering blood features and mutual information method for feature selection, and an ensemble learning algorithm based on Shapley value was designed to calculate the contribution of each feature to the model prediction result. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the predictive ability of the model. RESULTS: Through the feature extraction and contribution analysis of the predictive results of the interpretable ML model based on the Shapley value, the top ten indicators with the highest contribution were: pathological type, phosphorus, eosinophils, monocyte count, activated partial thromboplastin time, potassium, total bilirubin, sodium, eosinophil percentage, and total cholesterol. The area under the curve (AUC) of the model was 0.80. In addition, patients with hyponatremia and squamous cell carcinoma group had a poor prognosis (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS The interpretable model constructed in this study provides a new approach for the prediction of EGFR mutation status in NSCLC patients, which provides a scientific basis for the diagnosis and treatment of patients who cannot undergo genetic testing.

Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction syndrome caused by a dysregulated host response to infection. Septic acute kidney injury (SAKI) is one of the most common complications of sepsis, and the occurrence of acute kidney injury (AKI) indicates that the patient's condition is critical with a poor prognosis. The traditional view holds that the main mechanism of SAKI is the reduction of renal blood flow, inadequate renal perfusion, inflammatory response, and microcirculatory dysfunction caused by sepsis, which subsequently leads to ischemia and necrosis of renal tubular cells. Recent research findings indicate that processes such as autophagy and other forms of programmed cell death play an increasingly important role. Autophagy is a programmed intracellular degradation process and is a form of programmed cell death. Cells degrade their cytoplasmic components via lysosomes, breaking down and recycling intracellular constituents to meet their metabolic needs, maintain intracellular homeostasis, and renew organelles. During SAKI, autophagy plays a crucial protective role through various mechanisms, including regulating inflammation and immune responses, clearing damaged organelles, and maintaining stability in the intracellular environment. In recent years, the role of autophagy in the pathogenesis and treatment of SAKI has received widespread attention. Research has confirmed that various intracellular signaling pathways and signaling molecules targeting autophagy [such as mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway, AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signaling pathway, nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway, and Sirtuins (SIRT), autophagy associated factor Beclin-1, and Toll-like receptor (TLR)] are involved in the development of SAKI. Due to the complex pathogenesis of SAKI, current treatment strategies include fluid management, infection control, maintenance of internal environment balance, and renal replacement therapy; however, the mortality remains high. In recent years, it has been found that autophagy plays a critical protective role in sepsis-mediated AKI. As a result, an increasing number of drugs are being developed to alleviate SAKI by regulating autophagy. This article reviews the latest advances in the role of autophagy in the pathogenesis and treatment of SAKI, with the aim of providing insights for the development of new drugs for SAKI patients.

Post-stroke cognitive impairment(PSCI)is a major cause of disability and mortality follow-ing stroke,significantly affecting patients' quality of life and prognosis.In recent years,research on the rela-tionship between oral microbiota and cognitive function has emerged as a prominent topic,however,studies fo-cusing specifically on PSCI patients are limited,and the association between oral microbiota dysbiosis and PS-CI remains underexplored.This review summarized the current studies regarding oral microbiota and PSCI,the potential pathways,and interventions targeting oral microbiota.It aims to provide new perspectives for fu-ture research into the underlying mechanisms,disease prevention,and therapeutic strategies for PSCI.

The human oral microbiome harbors one of the most diverse microbial communities in the human body, playing critical roles in oral and systemic health. Recent technological innovations are propelling the characterization and manipulation of oral microbiota. High-throughput sequencing enables comprehensive taxonomic and functional profiling of oral microbiomes. New long-read platforms improve genome assembly from complex samples. Single-cell genomics provides insights into uncultured taxa. Advanced imaging modalities including fluorescence, mass spectrometry, and Raman spectroscopy have enabled the visualization of the spatial organization and interactions of oral microbes with increasing resolution. Fluorescence techniques link phylogenetic identity with localization. Mass spectrometry imaging reveals metabolic niches and activities while Raman spectroscopy generates rapid biomolecular fingerprints for classification. Culturomics facilitates the isolation and cultivation of novel fastidious oral taxa using high-throughput approaches. Ongoing integration of these technologies holds the promise of transforming our understanding of oral microbiome assembly, gene expression, metabolites, microenvironments, virulence mechanisms, and microbe-host interfaces in the context of health and disease. However, significant knowledge gaps persist regarding community origins, developmental trajectories, homeostasis versus dysbiosis triggers, functional biomarkers, and strategies to deliberately reshape the oral microbiome for therapeutic benefit. The convergence of sequencing, imaging, cultureomics, synthetic systems, and biomimetic models will provide unprecedented insights into the oral microbiome and offer opportunities to predict, prevent, diagnose, and treat associated oral diseases.

【Objective】 To compare the desalination effects of five desalination methods and their effects on the components for human coagulation factor Ⅷ(FⅧ), and provide reference for selection of protein desalination methods. 【Methods】 Sephadex G-25 Medium gel, Fractogel EMD BioSEC gel, ultrafiltration, room temperature dialysis and 4℃ dialysis were used to desalt human FⅧ. The desalination effect was evaluated by the removal rate of Na +, citrate ion and glycine. FⅧ protein recovery, FⅧ activity (FⅧ∶C), VWF antigen (VWF∶Ag), VWF activity(VWF∶Ac), VWF polymers and SDS-PAGE analysis before and after desalination were compared to evaluate the effect of desalination on FⅧ components. 【Results】 In terms of desalination effect, the removal rate of Na⁺ was the lowest in ultrafiltration desalination, while that of Fractogel EMD BioSEC gel was the highest [(97.90±0.06) % vs (99.82±0.07) %]. Except that there was no statistical significance between Sephadex G-25 Medium gel desalination and Fractogel EMD BioSEC gel desalination (P=0.90), the removal rates of the other four methods were statistically significant. The removal rate of glycine was the lowest in ultrafiltration desalination, wihle that of Fractogel EMD BioSEC gel desalination was the highest [(95.78±0.42) % vs (99.81±0.08) %]. Significant difference in glycine removal was noticed in ultrafiltration desalination, but not among the other four desalination methods. There was no significant difference in the removal rate of citrate ions among the five methods (P=0.85). For the effect of FⅧ components, FⅧ∶C, VWF∶Ag, VWF∶Ac and protein recovery rates of ultrafiltration desalination were the highest, with (18.34±1.99) IU/mL, (11.81±0.33) IU/mL, (12.26±0.58) IU/mL and (97.13±1.37) %, respectively. There was no significant change in VWF∶Ac/VWF∶Ag before and after desalination by the five methods. SDS-PAGE and VWF polymer analysis showed that different desalination methods had no significant impact on protein composition. 【Conclusion】 Although different desalination methods had no significant effect on the composition of FⅧ protein, the desalination effect was different. Moreover, different desalination methods had significant effects on protein recovery, FⅧ∶C, VWF∶Ag and VWF∶Ac. The selection of desalination methods should be more considered during protein processing,

Sepsis is a fatal organ dysfunction caused by the uncontrolled inflammatory response of the host to infection. Excessive inflammatory reaction is the core factor in the occurrence and development of sepsis, the degree of organ dysfunction is directly related to the prognosis of sepsis. Timely intervention of excessive inflammatory response and alleviation of organ function damage are essential to improve the prognosis of sepsis. Maresin-1 (MaR-1) is a newly discovered endogenous specific pro-inflammatory resolution mediator, which plays a role of anti-inflammatory, pro-inflammatory regression and organ protection in sepsis, and may be a new target for the treatment of sepsis. This article reviews the research progress of the role of MaR-1 in the regulation of inflammation and organ protection in sepsis, in order to provide reference for the clinical development of new drugs for the treatment of sepsis.

Objective:To explore the value of ultrasound measuring gastric sinus cross-sectional area (CSA) to guide early individualized enteral nutrition implementation strategies in sepsis patients.Methods:Thirty septic patients admitted to the EICU and comprehensive ICU of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine between January 2021 and December 2022 each were included. EICU patients used bedside ultrasound for gastric sinus CSA to guide the implementation of early enteral nutrition in septic patients, and a routine nutritional support strategy was adopted in the integrated ICU. The correlation of CSA and feeding intolerance in patients with septic gastrointestinal dysfunction, the ROC curve and other relevant indicators of gastrointestinal dysfunction gastrointestinal dysfunction score, SOFA score, APACHEⅡ score, intra-abdominal pressure (IAP), serum protein (PA), [albumin (Alb)]. By comparing the indicators related to inflammation, nutritional status and days of ICU stay after different strategies of the two groups, the advantages of different strategies were analyzed.Results:The baseline data of the two groups were balanced and comparable; the incidence of feeding intolerance was significantly higher (36.67%) than the conventional group (10.00%), with aggressive and early individualized treatment, the incidence rate on the third day was only 10.00%, significantly lower than that in the conventional treatment group (40.00%). Treatment up to the 5th day, the related function scores (gastrointestinal dysfunction score, APACHEⅡ score, SOFA score, IAP), nutritional status indicators (5 d hot card reaching the standard rate, PA, Alb) and inflammation indicators (WBC, PCT, hs-CRP) were significantly improved compared with admission, and is better than the conventional treatment group. In addition, the ICU hospital days and the incidence of aspiration were lower in the ultrasound treatment group ( P <0.05). CSA showed favorable correlation with gastrointestinal dysfunction score, APACHEⅡ score, SOFA score, IAP, PA and Alb, correlation coefficients were 0.79、0.60、0.66、0.71、-0.6 and -0.64( P <0.05). The ROC curve for predicting feeding intolerance by CSA showed the AUC was 0.828, 95% CI was 0.737-0.919, its optimal cutoff value for predicted feeding intolerance was 7.835 cm 2, the sensitivity and specificity were 88.20% and 71.80%. Conclusions:Ultrasound measuring CSA can early and effectively found the feeding intolerance in the patients with sepsis , via giving individualized enteral nutrition implementation strategy, significantly improve the organ function score, nutritional status and inflammation index, reduce the ICU hospital days and aspiration, and correlate with the conventional evaluation index, and sensitivity and specificity are high, worthy of the clinical further promotion.

Objective To investigate the role of hydrogen therapy in reducing radiation-induced lung injury and the specific mechanism. Methods Forty C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into four groups: normal control group, model group, hydrogen therapy group I, and hydrogen therapy group II. A mouse model of radiation-induced lung injury was established. The pathological changes in the lung tissue of the mice were examined with HE staining. Immunofluorescence staining was used to detect the expression of surface markers of M1 and M2 macrophages to observe macrophage polarization. The expression of interleukin (IL)-6, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and IL-10 in the lung tissue was measured by immunohistochemistry. The expression of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) p65 and phosphorylated NF-κB (P-NF-κB) p65 was measured by Western blot. Results HE staining showed that compared with the control group, the model group exhibited alveolar septal swelling and thickening, vascular dilatation and congestion, and inflammatory cell infiltration in the lung tissue; the hydrogen groups had significantly reduced pathological damage and inflammatory response than the model group, with more improvements in hydrogen group II than in hydrogen group I. Immunohistochemical results showed that compared with those in the control group, the levels of the inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and TNF-α were significantly increased in the model group; the hydrogen groups showed significantly decreased IL-6 and TNF-α levels and a significantly increased level of the anti-inflammatory factor IL-10 than the model group, which were more marked in hydrogen group II than in hydrogen group I. Immunofluorescence results showed that compared with the control group, the expression of the surface marker of M1 macrophages in the model group was significantly upregulated; the hydrogen groups showed significantly downregulated M1 marker and significantly upregulated M2 marker, and hydrogen group II showed significantly increased M2 marker compared with hydrogen group I. Western blot results showed that compared with that in the control group, the ratio of P-NF-κB p65/NF-κB p65 in the model group was significantly increased; the P-NF-κB p65/NF-κB p65 ratio was significantly reduced in the hydrogen groups than in the model group, and was significantly lower in hydrogen group II than in hydrogen group I. Conclusion Hydrogen inhalation therapy may reduce the inflammatory response of radiation-induced lung injury by inhibiting the NF-κB signaling pathway to promote the polarization of the macrophage M1 subtype to the M2 subtype.
