Objective To systematically analyze the literature characteristics of Journal of Organ Transplantation since its inception. Methods Using the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) academic journal full-text database as the data source, all articles published in the Journal of Organ Transplantation from January 2010 to August 2025 were retrieved. After excluding non-academic papers, a total of 1 568 research papers were included. R language 4.3.0, Bibliometrix package 3.2.1, and Citespace software were used to analyze the number of publications, publishing institutions, authors, keywords and other aspects. Results The number of publications in Journal of Organ Transplantation increased from an average of 82 articles per year in the early years after its inception to 113 articles per year in recent years, a growth of 37.8%. The geographical distribution of publishing institutions covers 32 provinces, cities and autonomous regions nationwide, mainly concentrated in the South China, East China and North China regions, and has now basically covered the central and western regions in recent years. The author collaboration network includes 45 authors distributed across 7 major collaboration clusters, forming a stable multi-level national research system centered on key university-affiliated hospitals. The high-frequency keywords are dominated by "liver transplantation" (425 times) and "kidney transplantation" (396 times). The theme evolution shows a clear three-stage characteristic: initially focusing on clinical technology application, deepening to immune mechanism exploration in the middle stage, and recently (since 2022) focusing on cutting-edge research areas such as xenotransplantation. Conclusions Journal of Organ Transplantation has witnessed the rapid development of China's organ transplantation cause, fully reflecting the research status and trends in China's organ transplantation field, and has provided an important platform for the future development and international cooperation in China's organ transplantation field.

Thousands of variant gene sequences of SARS-CoV-2 have been emerged since the COVID-19 epidemic broke out in Dec.2019.Alpha(B.1.1.7),Beta(B.1.351),Gamma(P.1),Delta(B.1.617.2)and Omicron(B.1.1.529)were the most representative variants. With the continuous emergence of new variants, the predomi-nant strain in the global pandemic as of Jan.2025 is the Omicron BA.2.86-derived mutant,JN.1.The effectiveness of drugs against Omicron variants remains a key research focus in the treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infections. The infectiousness and pathogenicity of the variants altered remarkably due to mutations in the genome on S protein of the mutant strains, and these emerging variants are more likely to evade immunity and were more infectious than the previous prevalent variants.During the process of combating with the constantly emerging novel variants, drugs showed various effects on treatment of diseases caused by different variants.New drugs and treatment coun-termeasures are constantly updated with the prevalence of various variants. The current status of research on pres-ent drugs for treatment of SARS-CoV-2 and the therapeutic effects on emerging variants are reviewed in the article so as to provide reference for prevention and treatment of the upcoming evolved variants.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2025;57(5):895-902
Objective:To identify protein markers that may be associated with ulcerative colitis(UC)by analyzing differential proteins in the salivary exosomes from newly diagnosed patients with active UC and healthy controls(HC),and to investigate the function of salivary exosome-specific high-expression proteins in UC patients and their potential role in the pathogenesis of UC.Methods:All patients and healthy controls were recruited from Peking University People's Hospital.Whole saliva was obtained from 37 patients with newly diagnosed active ulcerative colitis(n=37)and apparently healthy controls(n=10).Salivary exosomes were extracted from samples, and the proteins within the exosomes were identi-fied by liquid chromatograph-mass spectrometer(LC-MS/MS).The differentially expressed protein genes underwent gene ontology(GO)and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes(KEGG)enrichment analysis using the DAVID tool.In vitro, macrophages were co-cultured with salivary exosomes from UC group and those from HC group, respectively, and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR)was used to detect levels of CD80+and CD86+.Additionally,ELISA was performed to measure secretion levels of interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in the cell supernatant. Results:A total of 259 proteins were co-expressed in saliva exosomes from UC group and HC group, among which 11 proteins were highly expressed in the UC group, including PDIA4,A2M,EEF2,C3,PSMA2,PSMB6,PSMA1,IGHG1,IGHG3,IGHG4 and SERPING1,while 4 proteins were lowly expressed in UC group, including TCN1,SLPI and SERPING.Functional analysis of these 15 pro-teins,along with 129 specific proteins found only in the UC patients and 69 specific proteins found only in HC patients, respectively, was conducted using GO/KEGG.The results revealed that in the UC group,proteasome-related proteins such as PSMA1,PSMA2 and PSMB6 expressions were increased in salivary ex-osomes while many key molecules involved in complement cascade pathways, such as C3 were up-regu-lated.In vitro co-culture experiments demonstrated that compared with healthy controls, the salivary exo-somes of the UC patients in active stage could play a pro-inflammatory role by promoting the transformation of macrophages into M1 type cells that secrete inflammatory factors IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α.Conclusion:Salivary exosomes in the UC patients may have the function of promoting inflammation.Analysis of protein levels in the saliva of the UC patients and healthy controls revealed significant differences in the expression levels of 15 co-expressed proteins between the two groups.Among them,C3,PSMA2,PSMB6 and PSMA1 were found to be mainly related to immune and inflammatory reactions in the UC group. These findings sug-gest that proteins with high specific expression in salivary exosomes of the UC patients have the potential to be used as a disease marker for UC diagnosis and may contribute to the pathogenesis of UC.

Objective:To investigate the experiences of residents in completing case reports, the support needed in writing case reports, and the necessary conditions for future case report education. Methods:Using purposive sampling, one-on-one semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with residents who had published case reports. A thematic analysis was employed to analyze the data. Results:The study included 15 residents [3 males, 12 females; mean age: (27.20±2.57) years], with 8 undergoing standardized residency training and 7 receiving specialized physician training. The study identified three themes, including the challenges, strategies, and desired support during data collection prior to writing the case report, the writing process, and the submission and publication. The following specific needs were identified. Before writing, residents sought access to free and official research resources, guidance on the value of case publication, high-quality case resources, comprehensive supervision of data collection, access to interdepartmental collaboration, and funding support. During the writing period, they sought case report templates, experiences in writing case reports, guidance on article composition, and motivational support. After writing, they expected operational guidance of submission websites, recommendations for target journals, and templates for revision response letters. Conclusions:This study explored the challenges, strategies, and expected support in the continuous stages of before, during, and after writing case reports, thereby initially identifying the essential support conditions for case report instruction from the perspective of resident physicians.

(3) Prognostic analysis of patients. According to the results of multi-variate analysis, among 3 353 patients, there were significant differences in 5-year DFS rate and 10-year OS rate between patients aged <50 years and ≥50 years ( P<0.05). There were significant differences in 5-year DFS rate and 10-year OS rate among patients in TNM stage ⅠA and ⅠB ( P<0.05). There were significant differences in 5-year DFS rate and 10-year OS rate among patients in stage T1N0M0, T1N1M0, T2N0M0 ( P<0.05). There were significant differences in 5-year DFS rate and 10-year OS rate among patients with the highly, moderately, and poorly differentiated tumors ( P<0.05). There were significant differences in 5-year DFS rate and 10-year OS rate among patients with the number of lymph lodes dissected <16 and ≥16 ( P<0.05). There were significant differences in 5-year DFS rate and 10-year OS rate between patients with negative and positive vascular invasion ( P<0.05). For patients in stage T1N1M0, there was no significant difference in 5-year DFS rate and 10-year OS rate between patients with and without postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy ( P>0.05).Results of stratified analysis showed that for patients aged ≥ 50 years, there were significant differences in 5-year DFS rate and 10-year OS rate between patients with and without postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy ( P<0.05). For patients in stage T2N0M0, there were significant differences in 5-year DFS rate and 10-year OS rate between patients with and without postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy ( P<0.05). For patients with positive vascular invasion, there were significant differences in 5-year DFS rate and 10-year OS rate between patients with and without postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy ( P<0.05). (4) Construction and validation of a predictive model for the efficacy of adjuvant chemotherapy. A nomogram predictive model was constructed based on the multivariate analysis results of OS and used for calculating net benefits and distribution. Among the 3 096 patients without postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy, 1 009 cases had a predicted net benefit of >5%-10%, and 250 patients had a predicted net benefit >10%. The predicted survival analysis further verified that the predicted benefit of adjuvant chemotherapy was consistent with the prognosis of patients. Conclusions:Patients with age ≥50 years, stage T2 tumors, moderately differentiated tumor, the number of lymph nodes dissected <16, positive vascular invasion have worse survival prognosis postoperative. Postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy provides better prognosis in high-risk patients. Patients in stage T1N1M0 have lower recurrence and survival risks, of whom with 1 metastatic lymph node is more suitable for follow-up rather than postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy.

Chinese Journal of Perinatal Medicine 2025;28(2):142-149
Objective:To investigate the risk factors for mortality in neonates with necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC).Methods:This retrospective cohort study included patients diagnosed with NEC at stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ (Bell's criteria) and admitted to the Neonatology Department of Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center Affiliated to Guangzhou Medical University from January 2017 to December 2022. According to the outcomes, these patients were divided into the mortality and survival groups. Perinatal conditions, clinical manifestations, disease status during hospitalization, and blood routine parameters at different time points after birth were compared between the two groups to analyze the risk factors for mortality of NEC. Statistical analysis was performed using independent-sample t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, Chi-square test (or Fisher's exact test), and multivariate logistic regression analysis.
