Persistent left superior vena cava is a rare venous variant that is often combined with cardiovascular malformations. In thoracic surgery, especially mediastinal tumor resection, neglect of this variant may make the surgery difficult and risky, and careful preoperative imaging interpretation and adequate preoperative evaluation play an important role in the perioperative safety of the patient. In this paper, we reported a case of a 17-year-old female patient with a persistent left superior vena cava combined with mediastinal tumors. She was successfully discharged 5 days after thoracoscopic surgery, and after 3 years of postoperative follow-up, no tumor recurrence was observed.

Journal of Clinical Medicine in Practice 2025;29(15):92-100
Objective To investigate the role and potential molecular mechanisms of insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein 3(IGF2BP3)in preeclampsia(PE).Methods The expres-sion of IGF2BP3 in placental tissues from patients with PE was detected using quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction.IGF2BP3 was knocked down via RNA interference technology to evaluate its effects on the proliferation, invasion, apoptosis and cell cycle of HTR-8/SVneo and JEG-3 trophoblast cell lines.Transcriptome sequencing was employed to analyze changes in cellular biological functions and the stability of the potential downstream molecule circPAPPA following IGF2BP3 interference.RNA binding protein immunoprecipitation(RIP)and fluorescence in situ hy-bridization(FISH)were utilized to validate the direct targeting relationship between IGF2BP3 and circPAPPA.Results IGF2BP3 was significantly downregulated in PE placentas.Knockdown of IGF2BP3 inhibited trophoblast cell proliferation and invasion, promoted cell apoptosis and cellcycle arrest.Functional enrichment analysis revealed that IGF2BP3 was involved in invasion and hypoxia response, regulating signaling pathways such as phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase(PI3K),mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)and hypoxia-inducible factor-1(HIF-1).Knockdown of IGF2BP3 led to a reduction in circPAPPA stability, and RIP and FISH experiments confirmed the direct targeting rela-tionship between IGF2BP3 and circPAPPA.Conclusion IGF2BP3 is downregulated in PE and reg-ulates the stability of circPAPPA in an N6-adenosine methylation(m6A)-dependent manner,there-by affecting trophoblast cell function.

Objective:
To explore the expression of collagen type 1 alpha 2 (COL1A2) in cervical cancer and its correlation with immune infiltration.
Methods:
Bioinformatics techniques were used to analyze the expression of COL1A2 in cervical cancer. Western blot and RT-qPCR were used to detect the expression of COL1A2 in cervical cancer tissues and cell lines. The correlation between the expression of COL1A2 and tumor immune cell infiltration was analyzed by tumor immune estimation resource (TIMER2. 0) . Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) was used to analyze the possible mechanism of COL1A2 in cervical cancer. Jaspar database was used to predict the transcrip- tion factors of COL1A2. Western blot and RT-qPCR were used to detect the expression of transcription factors in cervical cancer tissues and cell lines.
Results:
The expression of COL1A2 was down-regulated in cervical cancer (P < 0. 05) . The expression of COL1A2 was positively correlated with the levels of macrophages and myeloid den- dritic cells (P < 0. 01) . The proportions of 22 types of immune cells were different in different cervical cancer pa- tients. In addition , compared with the high expression group of COL1A2 , the proportion of M0 macrophages , M2 macrophages and resting memory CD4 + T cells increased in the low expression group of COL1A2 , while the propor- tion of CD8 + T cells , activated memory CD4 + T cells , follicular helper T cells , activated NK cells and activated myeloid dendritic cells decreased (P < 0. 05) . GSEA analysis showed that COL1A2 was related to immune-related signaling pathways , including Notch signaling pathway , interleukin-6/janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (IL6/JAK/STAT3) , Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway , etc. (P < 0. 01) . Jaspar database pre- dicted that the transcription factor of COL1A2 was paired box protein 5 (PAX5) , and the expression of PAX5 de- creased in cervical cancer (P < 0. 05) .
Conclusion
COL1A2 is expected to become a potential diagnostic biomar- ker and immunotherapy target for cervical cancer.

Objective To investigate the effect of miR-495-3p targeting budding uninhibited by benzimidazoles(BUB1)on signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)signaling pathway on biological behavior of esophageal cancer(EC)cells. Methods The differentially expressed genes in EC tissues and normal tissues were screened by the cDNA microarray technique. The differentially expressed genes were analyzed by bioinformatics methods. The target genes of miRNAs were predicted by the TargetScan database and verified by a dual luciferase gene reporter assay.KYSE150 cells were divided into blank control group,NC mimics group and miR-495-3p mim-ics group. The activity of KYSE150 cells were detected by the CCK-8 method.Cell cycle and apoptosis were meas-ured by flow cytometry. The expression of BUB1 mRNA was measured by real-time fluorescence quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR).The levels of BUB1,STAT3,phosphor(p)-STAT3,cyclin dependent kinase 1(CCNB1),cyclin dependent kinase 1(CDK1),B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2),cysteinyl aspar-tate-specific proteinase-3(Caspase-3)and cysteinyl aspartate-specific proteinase-3(Caspase-9)were measured by Western blot. The migration and invasion abilities of the cells were measured by wound-healing and Transwell inva-sion assays. Results Differentially expressed genes were involved in biological processes, signaling pathways and network construction, which were mainly related to cell cycle.BUB1 is the key(Hub)gene, and BUB1 is the tar-get gene of miR-495-3p.In vitro experiments showed that overexpression of miR-495-3p could significantly inhibit the migration and invasion of EC cells and induce apoptosis and G2/M phase arrest. After treatment with overex-pression of miR-495-3p,the expression of Caspase-3 and Caspase-9 in EC cells increased significantly(P<0.01),while the expression of Bcl-2,BUB 1,CCNB1,CDK1 and p-STAT3 decreased significantly(P<0.01).Moreover,the STAT3 signaling pathway might play an important role in this process. Conclusion miR-495-3p may influence the biological behavior of esophageal cancer cells by down-regulating BUB 1-mediated STAT3 signaling pathway.
