Objective:
To investigate the mediating role of children s sleep quality in the association between mother-child relationship and the executive function of preschool children, providing a reference for promoting the development of the executive function of preschool children.
Methods:
A stratified cluster sampling method was used to select 842 preschoolers from 12 kindergartens in Wuhu City, Anhui Province in December 2021 as the subjects of the first follow up study with follow up every six months thereafter. Finally, 746 children were included in the study after 3 follow up. Spearman correlation analysis was used to explore the associations among mother-child relationship, sleep quality and executive function in preschool children. Bootstrap program and PROCESS software were applied to test the mediating effect of sleep quality in the association between mother-child relationship and the executive function of preschool children.
Results:
Conflictual mother-child relationship was positively correlated with the total score of executive function, as well as scores of inhibitory, shifting, emotional control, working memory, and organizational planning ( r=0.40, 0.37, 0.36, 0.41, 0.38 , 0.34, all P <0.05). Dependent mother-child relationship was positively correlated with the total score of executive function, as well as scores of inhibitory, shifting, emotional control, working memory , and organizational planning ( r=0.23, 0.20, 0.21, 0.22 , 0.22, 0.19, all P <0.05). Sleep quality was positively correlated with the total executive function score ( r=0.27, P <0.01). After adjusting for confounding factors, sleep quality played a partial mediating role in the associations between dependent and conflictual mother-child relationships and executive function, the mediating effects were 19.40% and 11.22% respectively.
Conclusions
Sleep quality plays a mediating role in the association between mother-child relationship and the executive function of preschool children. Improving sleep quality in the early stage can promote the executive function of preschool children.

As a common ophthalmic disease, pterygium exhibits a considerably high incidence in global area, particularly in regions with harsh natural environment. While it is unlikely to cause blindness, pterygium frequently disrupts the normal homeostasis of the tear film, leading to discomfort such as dry eyes and foreign body sensation, thereby significantly impairing patients' quality of life. Furthermore, the high surgical intervention rate for pterygium consumes substantial medical resources. Therefore, investigating the underlying mechanisms of pterygium development is essential for its prevention and control. Extensive research has demonstrated the correlation between solar radiation and pterygium occurrence, confirming that ultraviolet rays within solar radiation contribute to the onset and progression of pterygium through multiple pathways, including direct DNA damage to ocular surface cells, oxidative stress-induced injury, involvement in inflammatory regulation, and extracellular matrix remodeling. This paper reviews both domestic and international epidemiological trends of pterygium, as well as the multifaceted mechanisms by which solar radiation influences pterygium development. The aim is to enhance understanding of the relationship between solar exposure and pterygium occurrence, while emphasizing and guiding public awareness of solar radiation protection in clinical practice.

Objective:
To investigate the molecular mechanism of NOD-like receptor(NLR) signaling pathway induced cellular focal death in mouse kidney tissues under plateau hypoxia based on transcriptomic sequencing technology.
Methods:
Animal models were constructed in high-altitude kidney test group(HKT group) and plain kidney control group(PKC group),and C57/BL6 mice were bred at an altitude of 4 200 m and 400 m,respectively.Kidney tissues were aseptically taken out after 30 d and used for observation of renal histopathological changes and transcriptomics sequencing, respectively, and then differentially expressed genes(DEGs) were enriched by KEGG and GO analysis.Key gene and protein expression levels were verified by reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR) and Western blot analysis.
Results:
Hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining showed that the renal tubules of HKT mice were disorganized, and the tubular epithelial cells were edematous with inflammatory cell aggregation.Transcriptomics sequencing analysis revealed that a total of 3 007 DEGs were identified in the HKT group, and KEGG analysis showed that DEGs were significantly enriched in the NLR signaling pathway. The mRNA expression of the key differentially expressed genes,CASP1,CASP11,GSDMD,IFI16,NAIP5,IRF9,and the downstream inflammatory factors,IL-1β and IL-18,was upregulated, and protein expression of CASP1,CASP11,and GSDMD was up-regulated.
Conclusion
The plateau hypoxic environment induces cellular pyroptosis by regulating the expression of NLR signaling pathway and releases downstream inflammatory factors to cause inflammatory responses.

Objective:To investigate the influential factors of lung function injury in occupational exposure workers in carbon industry. Methods:In January 2024, a judgment sampling method was employed, with 230 occupational exposure workers in the carbon industry as the study subjects. They were divided into abnormal group and normal group according to whether there was lung function injury in occupational health examination. The basic information of workers in carbon industry was collected by questionnaire, their lung function was measured, urine and blood samples were collected after work, and 1-hydroxypyrene, 1-hydroxynaphthalene and 2-hydroxynaphthalene concentrations and the percentage of DNA in the comet tail and Olive tail distance in peripheral blood lymphocytes were determined. The differences in indicators of lung function, urine and blood samples between the two groups were compared by Mann-Whitney test and t-test. The influencing factors of lung function injury were analyzed by logistic regression. Results:The forced vital capacity (FVC) %[88% (86%, 92%) ], forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV 1) %[92% (88%, 95%) ] and FEV 1.0/FVC%[96% (91%, 102%) ] of occupational exposure workers in the carbon industry in the normal lung function group ( n=118) were significantly higher than those in the abnormal lung function group [ n=112, 83% (80%, 87%), 84% (80%, 88%), 86% (79%, 91%) ], the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). 1-Hydroxypyrene[9.28 (2.96, 25.94) μg/g], 1-hydroxynaphthalene[2.48 (1.47, 4.37) μg/g], percentage of DNA in the comet tail [11.83% (5.30%, 21.45%) ] and Olive tail distance [2.30 (0.82, 4.77) μm] in the abnormal lung function workers was significantly higher than those in the normal group[2.57 (1.17, 9.34) μg/g, 1.70 (0.94, 2.89) μg/g, 6.75% (2.55%, 12.60%), 1.25 (0.43, 2.34) μm], and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that sex, working age, job type, percentage of comet tail DNA in peripheral blood, Olive tail distance and 1-hydroxypyrene were all factors influencing lung function injury in occupational exposure workers in carbon industry ( P<0.05) . Conclusion:The percentage of DNA in the comet tail, Olive tail distance in peripheral blood lymphocytes and 1-hydroxypyrene may be markers of lung function injury in workers exposed to carbon industry. Working age and job type are occupational factors affecting lung function injury. Occupational protection should be strengthened and a reasonable operating system should be established to ensure the health of occupational workers.
