Objective To understand the current status of radiation diagnosis and treatment resources and their use in Taiyuan City, China, and provide data support for optimizing resource allocation and standardizing diagnosis and treatment. Methods A census-based approach was implemented using a standardized questionnaire to collect basic information on radiation diagnosis and treatment institutions in Taiyuan City. The number and use frequency of radiation diagnosis and treatment resources were calculated based on the resident population of Taiyuan City at the end of 2023. Results There were a total of 562 radiation diagnosis and treatment institutions in Taiyuan City, with 3970 workers and 1354 pieces of equipment. The numbers of radiation diagnosis and treatment institutions, workers, and equipment per 1 000 000 population were 103, 728, and 248, respectively. There were significant differences in radiation diagnosis and treatment resources among different districts and counties. There were 526 (93.59%) radiation diagnosis and treatment institutions and 25 (96.15%) tertiary hospitals in the six urban districts. All institutions offering nuclear medicine diagnosis and treatment and radiotherapy were located in the urban districts. There were substantial disparities among hospitals of different levels. The average numbers of radiation workers and equipment were in the order of tertiary hospitals (99.42, 17.15) > secondary hospitals (13.31, 4.62) > primary and unrated hospitals (1.43, 1.38). The frequency of radiation diagnosis and treatment in tertiary hospitals was 112 149 per hospital, which is 5 times that of secondary hospitals and 44 times that of primary and unrated hospitals. The use frequency of radiation diagnosis and treatment was 975.79 per 1000 population. The use frequency was 941.12 per 1000 population for X-ray diagnosis, 21.68 per 1000 population for interventional radiology, 8.70 per 1000 population for nuclear medicine diagnosis, 2.33 per 1000 population for nuclear medicine treatment, and 1.95 per 1000 population for radiotherapy. Conclusion There are abundant radiation diagnosis and treatment resources in Taiyuan City. The use frequency of radiation diagnosis and treatment has reached the level of Class II medical and health care regions, and there remains considerable room for growth and improvement. At present, the distribution of radiation diagnosis and treatment resources and services is unbalanced among different districts and counties as well as among institutions of different levels, mainly concentrated in urban districts and tertiary hospitals. The health administrative department needs to make overall plans and allocate resources scientifically.

Objective To understand the basic information of the number, classification, and distribution of radiation work units in non-medical institutions in Shanxi Province, China, and to analyze the status quo of health management and radiation protection measures for radiation workers, so as to provide a scientific basis for occupational exposure protection in non-medical radiation work units and better protect the occupational health rights and interests of radiation workers. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate some non-medical institutions in Shanxi Province. On-site testing was carried out to determine the risk factors for radioactive occupational diseases in the selected non-medical institutions. Results In 220 non-medical institutions, there were 340 radiation devices and 2284 radioactive sources. The rate of individual dose monitoring was 92.7% and the rate of occupational health examination was 87.2%. These devices were equipped with 325 detection instruments for radiation protection, 1316 personal protective equipment, and 730 personal dose alarms. Radiation occupational disease risk factors were investigated in 101 institutions. Conclusion The occupational health management of radiation workers in non-medical institutions in Shanxi Province is generally in line with the national standards. However, there is still a big gap with the level of occupational health management in medical institutions. The health administration departments should clarify the management measures for non-medical institutions and strengthen their supervision and management functions.

Objective This study aim to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of ultrasound-guided acupuncture,specifically targeting the Tiaokou(ST38)acupoint through Chengshan(BL57)to elicit the Deqi sensation,in the context of acute scapulohumeral periarthritis.Methods Utilizing a randomized controlled trial design,a total of 60 subjects diagnosed with acute scapulohumeral periarthritis underwent random allocation into either the observation or control group,with 30 subjects in each.Under ultrasound guidance,acupuncture was administered unilaterally at the specific acupoint ST38 through BL57.The observation group received needling traversing the calf interosseous membrane,reaching the deep fascia of the tibialis posterior muscle,employing lifting and inserting twisting techniques to induce Deqi.In contrast,the control group received acupuncture targeting the sub-superficial fascia without needle manipulation or the requirement for Deqi.Both groups underwent a singular acupuncture session,with a standardized 20-minute needle retention period.Results Post-acupuncture intervention,the observation group exhibited a statistically significant total effective rate of 76.66％,greater than that in the control group at 30％(P＜0.01).Comparative analysis revealed substantial enhancements in the observation group,including improvements in VAS score,Constant shoulder joint function score,the highest △T of red external thermal imaging around the shoulder,and patients'subjective acupuncture sensation scores(P＜0.05).Additionally,within the observation group,post-treatment reductions were observed in VAS score and △ T of red external thermal imaging,coupled with an elevation in Constant shoulder joint function score(P＜0.01).Importantly,neither group manifested discernible adverse reactions.Conclusion Ultrasound-guided acupuncture,facilitating Deqi at Tiaokou(ST38),emerges as a clinically significant and secure intervention for acute scapulohumeral periarthritis.These findings substantiate its potential as a viable therapeutic modality,promoting broader clinical adoption.

This paper aims to detect the antigens in porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) vaccines by high-performance size-exclusion chromatography (HPSEC) coupled with multi-angle laser light scattering (MALLS). With purified inactivated PCV2 and PCV2 virus-like particles (VLP) as references, two inactivated vaccines (a and b) and two VLP vaccines (c and d) for PCV2 from four manufacturers were analyzed by HPSEC-MALLS after demulsification. The antigen peaks in HPSEC-MALLS were identified by PCV2 antigen test strips, Western blotting and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The repeatability and linearity of the method were investigated. The results showed the virus antigens in the two inactivated vaccines were eluted at about 13.3 min in HPSEC. The molecular weight of these antigens was 2.61×10⁶ (±4.34%) Da and 2.40×10⁶ (±2.51%) Da, respectively, as calculated by MALLS. The antigen peaks of the two VLP vaccines also appeared at 13.3 min and the molecular weight was 2.09×10⁶ (±2.94%) Da and 2.88×10⁶ (±11.85%) Da, respectively, which was close to the theoretical molecular weight of PCV2. Moreover, an antigen peak of VLP vaccine c was observed at 11.4 min and the molecular weight was 4.37×10⁶ (±0.42%) Da. The antigen was verified to be the dimer of VLP by TEM. Vaccine d and purified Cap VLP antigens were tested repeatedly, and the RSD of the peak area (n=3) was all < 1.5%, indicating that the method was repeatable. The purified VLP were diluted in serial and tested for linearity. The result suggested good linear relationship between the peak area of VLP or VLP aggregates and the protein concentration of the sample with R² of 0.999 and 0.997, respectively. Thus, the method met the requirement for quantification and aggregate analysis. This method is accurate and efficient in in vitro quality evaluation and improvement of PCV2 vaccine.

A comprehensive profiling of the vaginal microbial communities and their variability enables an accurate description of the microbiome in women.However,there is a lack of studies available on Chinese women.In the present study,the composition of the vaginal microbiota during pregnancy and the 6-week postpartum period of 454 Chinese women was characterized by sequenc-ing the V3-V4 region of the 16S ribosomal RNA(rRNA)gene.The vaginal microbiome showed variations during pregnancy and the postpartum period based on the abortion history,hypertensive disorders,delivery mode,and maternal age.Co-variation of 22 bacterial taxa,including the Lacto-bacillus genus and two of its species,may account for the common characteristics of the vaginal microbiome under scenarios of different medical histories and pregnancy outcomes.In contrast,dis-criminant bacterial species were significantly different between women who had preterm birth(PTB)with and without premature rupture of membranes(PROM),and the community state type(CST)Ⅳ-A without any predominant Lactobacillus species in the microbiota was more prevalent during pregnancy in the PROM-PTB cases,suggesting that specific bacterial species could be considered to distinguish between different types of PTB.By providing data on Chinese women,this study will enrich the knowledge of the human microbiome and contribute to a better understanding of the association between the vaginal microbiome and reproductive health.

Objective To investigate and analyze the cause of the abnormal results in the individual dose monitoring conducted by this laboratory from 2014 to 2017. Methods Radiologic workers wear personal thermoluminescent dosimeters to monitor the individual dose equivalent H_P(10). A statistical analysis is conducted on the results above the investigation level. Results During the time when our individual dose monitoring was conducted from 2014 to 2017, this laboratory had detected 69 person-time abnormal results in 40 workplaces, of which 83% occurred in the profession of diagnostic roentgenology. 54% of the dose level range from 1.25 to 5.00 mSv. The main causes of the abnormal results include improper wearing of personal dosimeters (67%), unknown causes (20%), increased workload (10%) and equipment maintenance (3.0%)etc. Conclusion Radiation workplaces should enhance the management of radiologic workers, improve their trainings on radiation protection and raise their protection awareness.

OBJECTIVES: The measurement of diabetic foot ulcers is important for the success in diabetic foot ulcer management. At present, it lacks the accurate and convenient measurement tools in clinical. In recent years, artificial intelligence technology has demonstrated the potential application value in the field of image segmentation and recognition. This study aims to construct an intelligent measurement model of diabetic foot ulcers based on the deep learning method, and to conduct preliminary verification. METHODS: The data of 1 042 diabetic foot ulcers clinical samples were collected. The ulcers and color areas were manually labeled, of which 782 were used as the training data set and 260 as the test data set. The Mask RCNN ulcer tissue color semantic segmentation and RetinaNet scale digital scale target detection were used to build a model. The training data set was input into the model and iterated. The test data set was used to verify the intelligent measurement model. RESULTS: This study established an intelligent measurement model of diabetic foot ulcers based on deep learning. The mean average precision@.5 intersection over union (mAP@.5IOU) of the color region segmentation in the training set and the test set were 87.9% and 63.9%, respectively; the mAP@.5IOU of the ruler scale digital detection in the training set and the test set were 96.5% and 83.4%, respectively. Compared with the manual measurement result of the test sample, the average error of the intelligent measurement result was about 3 mm. CONCLUSIONS The intelligent measurement model has good accuracy and robustness in measuring the diabetic foot ulcers. Future research can further optimize the model with larger-scale data samples.

Biosafety is an important guarantee of the new coronavirus laboratory test. The accident treatment of sample overflow and sprinkle is a necessary part of the emergency plan for testing activities. Beijing Preventive Medicine Association coordinated biosafety experts of COVID-19 laboratories from Beijing CDC, to write up "The standard for handling of accidents of corona virus disease 2019 sample (T/BPMA 0005-2020)" . The group standard was based on the guidelines of China and WHO, and combined with the practical experience of COVID-19 epidemic and the principle of "scientific, normative, applicable and feasible" . Through all kinds of risk Assessment, it included the spillover of samples caused by the packing of COVID-19 (highly pathogenic) samples, the overflow and sprinkle in the laboratory during the detection operation, and the spillage accident occurred during the transfer of samples in the same building. The standard could guide and standardize the handling methods of accidental overflow and sprinkle that may occur in the SARS-CoV-2 testing laboratories in the city.

Norepinephrine transporter (NET) transfection leads to significant uptake of iodine-131-1abeled metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I-MIBG) in non-neuroendocrine tumors.However,the use of 131I-MIBG is limited by its short retention time in target cells.To prolong the retention of 131I-MIBG in target cells,we infected hepatocarcinoma (HepG2) cells with Lentivirus-encoding human NET and vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2) genes to obtain NET-expressing,NET-VMAT2-coexpressing,and negative-control cell lines.We evaluated the uptake and efflux of 131I-MIBG both in vitro and in vivo in mice bearing transfected tumors.NET-expressing and NET-VMAT2-coexpressing cells respectively showed 2.24 and 2.22 times higher 131I-MIBG uptake than controls.Two hours after removal of 131I-MIBG-containing medium,25.4％ efflux was observed in NET-VMAT2-coexpressing cells and 38.6％ in NET-expressing cells.In vivo experiments were performed in nude mice bearing transfected tumors;results revealed that NET-VMAT2-coexpressing tumors had longer 131I-MIBG retention time than NET-expressing tumors.Meanwhile,NET-VMAT2-coexpressing and NET-expressing tumors displayed 0.54％ and 0.19％,respectively,of the injected dose per gram of tissue 24 h after 131I-MIBG administration.Cotransfection of HepG2 cells with NET and VMAT2 resulted in increased 131I-MIBG uptake and retention.However,the degree of increase was insufficient to be therapeutically effective in target cells.
