Objective To gain insights into the biological characteristics of different populations of Culex tritaeniorhynchus within and around the Yellow Sea wetland from the perspective of the occurrence of resistance, we investigated the levels of resistance to deltamethrin and kdr gene mutation in the wetland and its peripheral areas. Methods Specimens were collected from Cx. tritaeniorhynchus populations at two monitoring sites in the Rare Bird National Nature Reserve and Tiaozi Ni Wetland Scenic Area, and also from two populations in Yancheng City and the Liuhe District of Nanjing, and the resistance of these mosquitoes to deltamethrin was determined using the CDC biotest bottle method. For each concentration of deltamethrin assessed, a random subset of exposed specimens was selected for amplification of the kdr gene fragment, followed by Sanger sequencing to identify and analyze resistance-associated mutations. Results The LC50 levels of deltamethrin among mosquitoes from the four populations in Luhe, Yancheng, the Rare Bird National Nature Reserve and the Tiaozi Ni Wetland Scenic Area were 2.048 5, 7.798 2, 3.473 3, and 17.695 5 mg/mL, respectively, with corresponding concentrations of deltamethrin ranging from 0.005 to 5.000,0.050 to 50.000,0.050 to 25.000 and 0.050 to 50.000 mg/mL, respectively. Furthermore, the ranges of the KT50 values were 11.76-107.43, 67.05-216.30,29.77-107.43 and 28.40-329.51 min; the 1-h knockdown rates were 34.58%-99.15%, 9.52%-43.80%, 55.09%-73.01%, and 10.09%-68.07%; and the 24-h mortality rates were 12.15%-67.52%,9.52%-79.56%,13.17%-82.21%, and 11.01%-78.99%, respectively. With respect to kdr gene mutation, we assayed a total of 63,70,59, and 57 mosquitoes for the four populations, for which we detected L1014F mutation frequencies of 14.29%, 35.00%, 20.34%, and 31.58%, respectively, with a majority of these mutations being heterozygous for resistance. In addition, five adult mosquitoes were identified has having synonymous mutations at site 1011[i. e. , AAT(asparagine)mutation to AAC(asparagine)]. Conclusions Our findings revealed the clear resistance of Cx. tritaeniorhynchus to deltamethrin in the Yancheng region of the Yellow Sea wetland, and the resistance phenotype and kdr frequency of Cx. tritaeniorhynchus in the wetland environment were comparable to those of Cx. tritaeniorhynchus in the wetland environment, thereby indicating that the resistance of different populations of Cx. tritaeniorhynchus was homogeneous under the pressure of different insecticide selection within and around the wetland. However, the underlying mechanisms need to be further studied.

Objective To identify key influencing factors for comorbidity between myopia and depressive symptoms among middle school students, and to construct a nomogram predictive model capable of quantitatively assessing their comorbidity risk. Methods A total of 13 976 middle school students aged 11-20 from 14 counties (cities, districts) in Yichang City were selected as study subjects through cluster random sampling. On-site surveys were conducted using the Student Health Status and Influencing Factors Questionnaire and the Depression Assessment Scale. Chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression analysis were employed to investigate the comorbidity association between myopia and depressive symptoms and their influencing factors, and to construct a nomogram model for risk prediction. Results The myopia screening rate among middle school students was 68.67%, the depression detection rate was 23.31%, and the comorbidity detection rate was 16.59%. Logistic regression analysis revealed that boarding school (OR=1.207), smoking history (OR=1.504), alcohol consumption (OR=2.016), outdoor activity time <1 h (OR=1.293), internet addiction (OR=4.008), school bullying (OR=4.358), school absence due to illness within one year (OR=1.712), and severe injury within one year (OR=1.356) were risk factors for myopia-depression comorbidity. Protective factors included male gender (OR=0.578), junior high school students (OR=0.670), nuclear family (OR=0.862), moderate-to-high intensity exercise ≥1 h/d (OR=0.852), screen time <2h (OR=0.803), adequate sleep duration (OR=0.602), and homework time after school <2 h/d (OR=0.766). The nomogram model constructed based on the above variables exhibited excellent discriminant power (AUC = 0.712) and calibration (Hosmer-Lemeshow test, χ2=3.245, P> 0.05). Conclusion Factors such as boarding school attendance, smoking history, alcohol consumption, less than 1 hour of daily outdoor activity, internet addiction, and school bullying are significantly associated with the comorbidity of screening myopia and depressive symptoms among middle school students in Yichang City. The nomogram model effectively predicts the comorbidity risk in this population, facilitating timely intervention for high-risk individuals.

Objective Metabolomics combined with machine learning algorithms was used to systematically study the preoperative serum metabolites of patients with early postoperative cognitive dysfunction(POCD)after heart valve replacement,so as to screen biomarkers that may predict early POCD after heart valve replacement and explore the corresponding metabolic regulatory mechanisms. Methods A total of 60 patients underwent heart valve replacement under extracorporeal circulation were selected and divided into early-POCD group(group P)and non-POCD group(group N)according to whether POCD occurred or not.Metabolomic analysis was performed on preoperative serum samples of patients in group P and group N to screen the differential metabolites and metabolic pathways. The biomarkers related to early POCD were identified by random forest algorithm. Results A total of 532 differential metabolites were detected by metabonomics analysis, and 5 biomarkers were screened by random forest algorithm, namely quinoline,3'-sialyllactose,sphingomyelin(d18∶1/20∶0),lysophosphatidylcholine[P-18∶1(9Z)]and 25-hydroxycholesterol.Among them, the main metabolic pathways were phenylalanine metabolism, primary bile acid biosynthesis, ascorbic acid and aldonate metabolism, pentose and glucuronate interconversion, tryptophan metabolism, drug metabolism-cytochrome P450,porphyrin and chlorophyll metabolism. Conclusion Many metabolic pathways in patients with early POCD after heart valve replacement under extracorporeal circulation have changed before operation, which may lead to the occurrence of early POCD.Quinoline,3'-sialyllactose,sphingomyelin(d18∶1/20∶0),lysophosphatidylcholine[P-18∶1(9Z)]and 25-hydroxycholesterol may be biomarkers for predicting early POCD.

Objective:To construct a decision tree model to predict the risk of breast cancer in patients with pathological nipple discharge. Methods:A total of 157 patients with pathological nipple discharge, who were diagnosed and treated at Weifang Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2019 to April 2024 and met the inclusion criteria, were selected.A risk prediction model for concurrent breast cancer in patients with pathological nipple discharge was developed using Logistic regression analysis.A decision tree was then constructed, and the predictive performance of the model was assessed based on the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC).Re-sults:The incidence of concurrent breast cancer among patients with pathological nipple discharge was 24.2%.Accord-ing to the results of binary Logistic regression analysis, elevated CEA and CA 153 levels in nipple discharge,as well as bloody discharge, emerged as independent risk factors for the development of breast cancer in such patients(P<0.05).Based on these findings,a decision tree model was constructed to predict the risk of concurrent breast cancer in patients with pathological nipple discharge. The validation results showed that the Logistic regression model had an AUC value of 0.800,while the decision tree model achieved an AUC value of 0.889.Conclusions:The decision tree model, built upon the identified influencing factors, exhibits strong predictive power for the risk of developing concurrent breast can-cer in patients with pathological nipple discharge, thus facilitating more precise preoperative diagnoses by clinicians for these patients.
