Compounds isolated from Epimedium include the total flavonoids of Epimedium , icariin, and its metabolites (icaritin, icariside I, and icariside II), which have similar molecular structures. Modern pharmacological research and clinical practice have proved that Epimedium and its active components have a wide range of pharmacological effects, especially in improving sexual function, hormone regulation, anti-osteoporosis, immune function regulation, anti-oxidation, and anti-tumor activity. To date, we still need a comprehensive source of knowledge about the pharmacological effects of Epimedium and its bioactive compounds on the male reproductive system. However, their actions in other tissues have been reviewed in recent years. This review critically focuses on the Epimedium , its bioactive compounds, and the biochemical and molecular mechanisms that modulate vital pathways associated with the male reproductive system. Such intrinsic knowledge will significantly further studies on the Epimedium and its bioactive compounds that protect the male reproductive system and provide some guidances for clinical treatment of related male reproductive disorders.

OBJECTIVES:
To investigate the clinical characteristics and prognosis of infants and young children with basal ganglia infarction after minor head trauma (BGIMHT).
METHODS:
A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data and follow-up results of children aged 28 days to 3 years with BGIMHT who were hospitalized at Children's Hospital of Soochow University from January 2011 to January 2022.
RESULTS:
A total of 45 cases of BGIMHT were included, with the most common symptom being limb movement disorders (96%, 43/45), followed by facioplegia (56%, 25/45). Cerebral imaging showed that 72% (31/43) had infarction accompanied by basal ganglia calcification. After conservative treatment, 42 children (93%) showed significant symptom improvement, while 3 children (7%) experienced recurrent strokes. The median follow-up time was 82 months (range: 17-141 months). At the last follow-up, 97% (29/30) had residual basal ganglia softening lesions. Among 29 cases participating in questionnaire follow-up, 66% (19/29) recovered normally, 17% (5/29) showed significant improvement in symptoms, and 17% (5/29) had poor improvement. According to the grading of the Global Burden of Disease Control Projects, only 1 child (3%) had severe sequelae. There were no significant differences in age at onset, gender, or presence of concomitant basal ganglia calcification between children with and without neurological sequelae (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
The most common initial symptom of BGIMHT is limb movement disorder, and imaging results indicate that most children have concurrent intracranial calcifications. Most infarct lesions later transform into softening lesions, resulting in a generally good prognosis.

METHODS:
The clinical data of 8 patients with IgD MM admitted to Gansu Provincial Hospital from September 2013 to February 2023 were collected, and their clinical characteristics and prognosis were retrospectively analyzed and summarized.
RESULTS:
Among the 8 enrolled patients, there were 4 males and 4 females, with a median age of 60 (44-74) years. All patients had symptoms of renal insufficiency and anemia. There were 3 cases of bone invasion, 3 cases of splenomegaly, 7 cases of IgD-λ type, and 1 case of IgD-κ type. FISH examination was performed in 7 cases, and 6 of them were positive for 1q21 . There were 6 cases in DS stage III and 2 cases in DS stage II; According to ISS staging, there were 6 cases in stage III, 1 case in stage II, and 1 case in stage I; According to R-ISS staging, there were 5 cases in stage III and 3 cases in stage II. All patients received bortezomib-based combination chemotherapy, with 1 case undergoing autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) and 2 cases receiving daratumumab in combination. The median treatment period was 6 (1-15) cycles. The short-term efficacy was evaluated after 4-6 courses of treatment. Among the 6 patients with assessable efficacy, 1 case experienced disease progression (PD), and 5 cases achieved complete remission (CR). The median follow-up time was 26 (11-33) months, and the median progression-free survival (PFS) and median overall survival (OS) of the patients were 11.25 (3-26) months and 18.5 (4-33) months, respectively. Among the 8 patients, 4 cases died. Among the deceased patients, 3 cases were in R-ISS stage III and 3 cases were 1q21 positive. 2 of the 5 patients with early CR died due to disease progression.
CONCLUSION
The incidence of IgD MM is low, the symptoms of early renal damage, blood system damage and bone erosion in IgD MM patients are obvious, and the median survival time is short. ASCT and / or daratumumab may bring lasting relief for IgD MM patients, but large-scale clinical studies are still needed.

Objective To explore the application value of fractional anisotropy(FA)analysis of RGB component transformation in different directions of fibers in substantia nigra in Parkinson's disease(PD).Methods There were 35 cases of PD and 37 cases of normal control group. After being performed by brain diffusion tensor imaging(DTI)scanning, the sequence was imported into 3DSlicense 5.6.0,and the diffusion module was used to implement pseudo color mapping based on FA,locate and segment substantia nigra, and use the substantia nigra mask as the tracking starting point. After forming tracing, fibers were imported into DTIANALYSIS 1.51,converting the RGB components into FA values for analysis, and visualized the analysis result. At the same time, fiber length, fiber density, and segmented FA point cloud percentage were compared. Results Compared with the normal group, the length of substantia nigra fibers in the PD group was shorter[(95.14±19.85)mm vs(115.99±21.39)mm,P<0.01],and there was a statistical difference between the two groups. There was no statistical difference in fiber density[(0.07±0.05)/mm3 vs(0.10±0.12)/mm3,P>0.05]between control group and PD group. The percentage of FA segment point clouds in the PD group was lower than that in the normal group at 0.9-1,but the principal component characteristics of the point cloud ratios in each FA segment were not significant. Conclusion Based on the transformation of RGB components into FA analysis, the length, density, and FA values of substantia nigra nerve fibers in PD patients can be quantified and visualized, providing a basis for the study of PD neural pathways.

Objective :
To investigate the diagnostic value of combined detection of folate receptor-positive circulat- ing tumor cells ( FR + -CTCs) and hemostatic function indicators in improving the diagnosis of gastrointestinal tumors ( GITs) metastasis.
Methods:
A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 115 patients aged 18 to 80 years who were diagnosed with gastrointestinal tumors via pathology and received treatment, including data on FR + -CTCs,hemostatic function indicators, and pathological staging. The collected data encompassed FR + -CTCs levels, coagulation parameters, and pathological staging.Statistical analysis included t-tests,chi-square tests,fish- er ’s exact test,Logistic regression analysis, and receiver operating characteristic ( ROC) curves to assess the diag- nostic value of combined FR + -CTCs and coagulation parameters in detecting tumor metastasis.
Results:
FR + -CTCs levels and positive rates demonstrated significant associations with clinicopathological characteristics ( gender,histo- logical type,N staging) in GITs patients ( P<0. 05) .In patients with metastasis, elevated fibrinogen levels were observed.Adithonallly, platelet counts showed significant increases in N1 -N3 stages ( P<0. 05) .Logistic regres- sion analysis showed that PLT and antithrombin Ⅲ ( AT-Ⅲ) were independent risk factors for GITs metastasis ( P<0. 05) . The areas under the ROC curves for predicting GITs metastasis were 0. 678 ( 95% CI: 0. 540 - 0. 816) and 0. 664 ( 95% CI: 0. 512 -0. 815) ,respectively. When combining multiple factors, including FR + - CTCs,PLT,AT-Ⅲ , pathological type,FIB,TT,and gender, for the diagnosis of GITs metastasis, the AUC in- creased to 0. 757 ( 95% CI: 0. 621 -0. 893) ,indicating higher sensitivity and specificity compared to using each indicator alone.
Conclusion
The combined detection of FR + -CTCs and anticoagulation function indicators has a higher diagnostic value for the diagnosis of GITs,providing a valuable basis for the early diagnosis of GITs,espe- cially in metastasis surveillance.
