In view of the complex adhesion and overlapping of whole heart image data on the luminance distribution,a novel adaptive geometric cutting tool for distinguished cutting or preservation of different tissues on the edge of the blade is proposed for efficiently eliminating the extra-cardiac tissues while preserving the epicardium and epicardial fat.The whole heart segmentation approach which simulate scalpel cutting and relative analysis algorithms are implemented by GPU programming.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can provide virtual reality for whole heart and coronary artery details in real time from complex chest volume data,and offer graphic guiding for analysis and judgment of heart diseases.The proposed cutting method can be served as a quick culling tool for the organ remnant tissues which can't be appropriately segmented using the existing algorithms.

Image registration is critical for clinical medical diagnosis and assisting surgical procedure.Using simulated X-ray and digital subtraction angiography(DSA)to generate digitally reconstructed radiograph(DRR)would improve the accuracy and speed of medical image registration.Herein an approach of using shading language to simultaneously generate the 3D render image and DRR from simulated X-ray or DSA is presented.The complex optimization and registration calculations are completed using the parallel calculation language(OpenCL),and the image processing unit(GPU)is used for DRR generation and 2D/3D registration.Experimental results show that the proposed method which relies on simulated X-ray or DSA for image registration can provide rapid and accurate visual guiding for surgical procedure.

The field of two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterial-based cancer immunotherapy combines research from multiple subdisciplines of material science, nano-chemistry, in particular nano-biological interactions, immunology, and medicinal chemistry. Most importantly, the "biological identity" of nanomaterials governed by bio-molecular corona in terms of bimolecular types, relative abundance, and conformation at the nanomaterial surface is now believed to influence blood circulation time, bio-distribution, immune response, cellular uptake, and intracellular trafficking. A better understanding of nano-bio interactions can improve utilization of 2D nano-architectures for cancer immunotherapy and immunotheranostics, allowing them to be adapted or modified to treat other immune dysregulation syndromes including autoimmune diseases or inflammation, infection, tissue regeneration, and transplantation. The manuscript reviews the biological interactions and immunotherapeutic applications of 2D nanomaterials, including understanding their interactions with biological molecules of the immune system, summarizes and prospects the applications of 2D nanomaterials in cancer immunotherapy.

The attenuated Chinese equine infectious anemia virus (EIAV) vaccine is the first lentiviral vaccine that provides solid protective immunities to vaccinated horses. To investigate properties of EIAV vaccine, especially the relationship between its replication and the immunity, viral plasma loads of an EIAV vaccine strain EIAVFDDV in immune suppressed horses were detected. Three horses, which were immunized with EIAVFDDV for 16 months, were treated with dexamethasone for 14 days to suppress their immunities. Reduced immune response in these animals was confirmed by significantly declined lymphocyte proliferation rate detected after 10 days of the drug treatment. The plasma viral loads of EIAVFDDV, which was indicated by the genomic RNA copy numbers, in horses before and after the treatment of dexamethasone were monitored by real time RT-PCR. Results revealed that the viral plasma loads in two of three immune-suppressed horses were kept a steady low level around 103～ 104 copies/ml. The load was increased by 10 folds in the third horse, but was still among the standard levels for EIAVFDDV vaccinated horses. As a positive control, the viral copy number of an asymptomatic carrier of EIAV virulent strain EIAVLiao was jumped nearly 25 000-fold higher after being treated with dexamethasone. The typical clinical symptoms of EIA, characterized by febrile episodes and thrombocytopenia, were also appeared in this horse. These results clearly indicate that it is the unique biological feature of the attenuated EIAV vaccine, but not the immunity, resulted in EIAVFDDV remaining in low levels in the body harmlessly. In addition, the steady low level of viremia and the inability to cause clinical symptoms of EIAVFDDV in immune-suppressed hosts further demonstrated the safety of attenuated Chinese EIAV vaccines. The data provide a new sight for studies on the immunity to lentiviruses.

In this study, about 350 bp cDNA fragment was amplified by PCR. After being sequenced, the AE1-c-end gene fragment was cloned into EcoR I-Pst I site of pGADT7 to form AD ends in the yeast two-hybrid system. The recombinant plasmid was transformed into yeast AH109, and the expression in the yeast was observed. The results demonstrate that AE1-c-end was obtained. pGADT7-AE1-c-end has no toxic effect on the yeast. It can serve as a target gene of yeast two-hybrid system.
