Journal of Central South University(Medical Sciences) 2021;46(4):351-360
OBJECTIVES:
Due to the genetic feature of high diversity than other DNA markers, short tandem repeat (STR) plays key roles in forensic, anthropology, and population genetics. Newly introduced multiple STR kit is more valuable because of the greatly improved discriminatory power with the increase in the number of STR loci. The genetic polymorphic data are essential for the application and research in specific population. This study aims to investigate the genetic polymorphism of Han population residing in Yuncheng district, Shanxi Province, to evaluate the application of 23 STR loci in forensic personal identification and paternity test, and to explore the genetic relationship of Han population between Yuncheng and other populations.
METHODS:
A total of 23 STR loci were amplified from 525 healthy unrelated individuals from the Han nationality in Yuncheng, Shanxi Province using the AGCU EX25 amplification kit. The products were detected and separated by ABI 3500 Genetic Analyzer. Alleles were genotyped by GeneMapper ID (Version 3.2) software, and corresponding frequencies and forensic parameters were calculated. We calculated the genetic distance and plotted the neighboring-joining tree with other 13 population.
RESULTS:
The allele frequency of the 23 STRs ranged from 0.0010 to 0.5090. No deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (
CONCLUSIONS
These 23 STRs are highly genetic polymorphic and informative in the Han population of Yuncheng, Shanxi Province, which can provide basic data for forensic personal identification, paternity testing, and population genetic research.

Chinese Journal of Urology 2021;42(1):48-53
Objective:To investigate the differences of psychological condition of erectile dysfunction (ED) patients in different age groups. Methods:The emotion, personality and interpersonal relationship outpatients with ED were evaluated by the method of Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90), State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ). A retrospective analysis was conducted and a total of 401 ED patients (aged 20-60) were divided into 4 groups [20-29(n=158), 30-39(n=182), 40-49(n=38), 50-60 (n=23)years old] from July 2018 to July 2019. The erectile function of the patients was evaluated by the international erectile function scale (IIEF-5). The symptoms of hostility, anxiety, psychotic, horrible, paranoid, obsession, somatization, interpersonal relationship and depression were evaluated by SCL-90. Furthermore, STAI was used to distinguish whether the patients had state or trait anxiety. Then EPQ was used to analyze the personality types of patients. The differences of SCL-90, STAI and EPQ between the patients and the national norm group were analyzed by the two sample t-test. The variance analysis was conducted to compare the score differences of scales among different age groups of ED patients. The chi square test was conducted to compare the distribution differences of personality types among different age groups. Results:The scores of hostility(1.64±0.67, t=4.81, P<0.001), anxiety(1.58±0.66, t=6.83, P<0.001), psychotic(1.62±0.68, t=11.87, P<0.001), paranoid(1.55±0.66, t=3.58, P=0.0004), obsession(1.95±0.70, t=9.56, P<0.001), somatization(1.43±0.58, t=2.10, P=0.036), interpersonal relationship(1.74±0.74, t=2.79, P=0.005), depression (1.66±0.74, t=4.50, P<0.001)and the total scores (1.53±0.63, t=3.07, P=0.002)of SCL-90 in the patient group were significantly higher than those of the national norm group, and there were significant differences in the scores of interpersonal relationship among different age groups(1.72±0.78, 1.65±0.69, 1.58±0.92, 1.43±0.59, F=2.84, P=0.038). The scores of state anxiety( t=7.35, P<0.001), trait anxiety ( t=6.31, P<0.001)and the total scores ( t=8.41, P<0.001)of STAI in the patient group were significantly higher than those of the national norm, and there were significant differences in the scores of state anxiety( F=5.29, P=0.001), trait anxiety ( F=5.54, P<0.001)and total scores ( F=5.66, P<0.001)among different age groups. There were significant increases in the scores of psychoticism( t=30.56, P<0.001), emotion( t=45.94, P<0.001), extraversion and introversion( t=11.72, P<0.001), concealment factors ( t=29.16, P<0.001)and total scores ( t=30.56, P<0.001)in the patient group. The proportion of depressive personality was highest in the ED patients(n=183; 45.64%), but there was no significant difference in the distribution of personality types among different age groups[20-29(depressive, choleric, mucinous and sanguine): 76, 35, 26, 21; 30-39: 87, 40, 32, 23; 40-49: 14, 10, 6, 8; 50-60: 6, 9, 2, 6; χ 2=10.65, P=0.30]. Conclusions:ED patients have a series of abnormal emotions, somatized discomfort, sensitive interpersonal relationships, introverted and unstable emotionally personality characteristics. In addition, the younger the patients are, the more serious their anxiety are, the more sensitive their interpersonal relationships are, which may be related to their introverted personality characteristics and emotional instability.

Cancer Research and Clinic 2020;32(5):335-340
Objective:To explore the effect of nutrition intervention on patients with cervical cancer undergoing chemoradiotherapy. Methods:From October 2016 to October 2018, 60 patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma confirmed by pathology and treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University were selected. The subjects were randomly divided into the control group (nutrition education + dietary guidance only, 30 cases) and the intervention group (nutrition intervention according to nutrition assessment results, 30 cases) by random number table method. The nutrition assessment for patients was performed with patient-generated subjective global assessment (PG-SGA) scale. The changes of nutrition status, quality of life, incidence of adverse reactions, interruption status of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and hematological indexes between the two groups in the treatment process were compared. Results:The incidence of moderate and severe malnutrition in the control group and the intervention group in the treatment process was 90% (27/30) and 50% (15/30), respectively, and the difference was statistically significant ( P < 0.01). When the dose of radiotherapy reached 40 Gy, the quality of life of patients in the intervention group was better than that in the control group in some functional fields, symptom fields and overall health status, and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). The incidence of acute gastrointestinal reaction in the control group and the intervention group was 96.7% (29/30) and 83.3% (25/30), respectively, and the incidence of bone marrow suppression was 96.7% (29/30) and 76.7% (23/30), respectively, and there were statistical differences in the incidence rates of different degrees of acute gastrointestinal reaction and bone marrow suppression between the two groups (both P < 0.05). The interruption rate of radiotherapy in the control group and the intervention group was 26.7% (8/30) and 6.7% (2/30), respectively, and the interruption rate of chemotherapy was 56.0% (14/25) and 26.9% (7/26), respectively, and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant (both P < 0.05). The cycles of chemotherapy completed in the intervention group were more than those in the control group [(4.38±1.10) cycles vs. (3.44±1.58) cycles]. The differences of peripheral blood red blood cells count, hemoglobin, albumin, and total protein between the control group and the intervention group before and after treatment were statistically significant (all P < 0.05), and the decreased values in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group. Conclusion:Nutrition intervention can effectively improve the nutrition status and quality of life of patients with cervical cancer undergoing chemoradiotherapy, reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, chemoradiotherapy interruption rate and decline degree of hematological indexes.

Objective: To investigate the diagnostic value and influential factors of washout fluid thyroglobulin collected during fine-needle aspiration (FNA-Tg) in detecting lymph node metastases of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) before thyroidectomy. Methods:We retrospectively analyzed 131 patients diagnosed with PTC based on histopathology. They presented with suspicious enlarged cervi-cal lymph nodes and underwent high-frequency ultrasound-guided FNA before the surgery. FNA and FNA-Tg were performed simulta-neously. All the related data were collected. In order to obtain the best cut-off value, the FNA-Tg receiver-operating characteristic curve was generated. The cytopathology and postoperative pathologic results, as well as the ultrasound images during the follow-up, were considered the gold standard. The diagnostic performance of each method (FNA, FNA-Tg, and FNA+FNA-Tg) were compared. Ad-ditionally, some suspicious influential factors such as the anatomical location of lymph nodes and associated laboratory indexes were also analyzed for the diagnostic accuracy of FNA-Tg. Results: The best cut-off value of FNA-Tg in our study was 1.295 ng/mL. The diag-nostic performance of the combined method was the best when compared with other methods, with a sensitivity of 96.4% and speci-ficity of 99.2%. Additionally, FNA-Tg was much more accurate when used in diagnosis of lateral cervical lymph nodes. Among all the as-sociated laboratory indexes, the level of serum Tg (sTg) was an independent predictive factor for an FNA-Tg level above 1.295 ng/mL (odds ratio=1.018). Conclusions: FNA-Tg is a useful tool in the identification of metastatic cervical lymph nodes preoperatively, espe-cially for lateral cervical lymph nodes. In addition, 1.295 ng/mL could be one of the reference standards of the FNA-Tg cut-off value. When the sTg level is high, we should interpret the FNA-Tg results cautiously.
