Objective:To investigate the predictive value of endothelial activation and stress index(EASIX)for the prognosis of patients with mantle cell lymphoma(MCL).Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted to assess prognosis and compare the clinical features of patients diagnosed with MCL who were admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from January 2010 to June 2023,had therapeutic indications and received standard treatment. Results:A total of 66 patients were included and divided into high EASIX group and low EASIX group, according to a cutoff value of 0.97 determined by the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve.Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that prealbumin<0.2 g/L,high EASIX,and ECOG PS score ≥2 were independent risk factors influencing overall survival(OS)in MCL patients. The median OS of patients in the high and low EASIX group was 13.0 and 37.5 months, and the median progression-free survival was 8.8 and 26.0 months, respectively. The proportions of patients with ECOG PS score ≥2 and prealbumin<0.2 g/L at onset significantly increased in the high EASIX group compared to those in the low EASIX group. Conclusion:At the time of initial diagnosis,EASIX can serve as an independent prognostic indicator impacting OS in patients with MCL.Furthermore, patients in the high EASIX group experience a poorer prognosis and shorter survival duration compared with those in the low EASIX group.

Body weight abnormalities, including overweight, obesity, and underweight, have become a dual public health challenge in Chinese adults: overweight and obesity lead to a variety of chronic complications, while underweight increases the risks of malnutrition, sarcopenia, and organ dysfunction. To systematically address these issues, multidisciplinary experts in endocrinology, sports science, nutrition, and psychiatry from various regions have held multiple weight management seminars. Based on the latest epidemiological data and clinical evidence, they expanded the guideline to include assessment and intervention strategies for underweight, in addition to the core content of obesity management. This guideline outlines the etiological mechanisms, evaluation methods, and multidimensional management strategies for overweight and obesity, covering key areas such as diagnosis and assessment, medical nutrition therapy, exercise prescription, pharmacological intervention, and psychological support. It is intended to provide a scientific and standardized approach to weight management across the adult population, aiming to curb the rising prevalence of obesity, mitigate complications associated with abnormal body weight, and improve nutritional status and overall quality of life.

Objective To investigate the genetic differences among different populations based on 13 autosomal STR loci in CODIS core. Methods Data of 13 autosomal STR loci(CSF1PO,FGA,THO1,TPOX,vWA,D3S1358,D5S818,D7S820,D8S1179,D13S317,D16S539,D18S51,D21S11)were collected from 95 populations in scientific journals between 1999 and 2021,soursed from the PubMed database, which had been published.Allele frequencies of loci were sorted out and forensic genetic parameters including gene differentiation coefficient(Gst),total heterozygosity(Ht),subpopula-tion heterozygosity(Hs)values, and Nei's DA genetic distance were calculated.Principal component analysis, phylogenetic tree, and multidimensional scale analysis were conducted to assess population ge-netic structure. Results A total of 265 alleles were detected at the 13 STR loci in these 95 popula-tions.The mean values of Gst,Ht,and Hs were 0.023 247,0.797 915 and 0.779 365.Population genetic analyses reflected significant differences among populations from Asia,Africa and Europe. In Asian populations, there was a certain degree of distinction between mainland and island populations;the Han population showed a certain degree of distinction with surrounding populations in mainland;while within the Han population, there were two distinct clusters formed by the northern Han and the south-ern Han.Conclusion The 13 autosomal STR loci in CODIS core demonstrate potential value for popu-lation identification across different groups, and may be used for the differentiation of ethnic groups, among different continental populations.

Kidney Research and Clinical Practice 2025;44(1):111-122
Recent developments indicated that Bowman capsule rupture (BCR) is observed in antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated glomerulonephritis (AAGN). We aimed to explore the relationship between BCR and clinical manifestations, pathological changes, and prognosis in children with myeloperoxidase (MPO)-AAGN. Methods: A total of 56 children with MPO-AAGN were divided into BCR (+) and BCR (–) groups according to the status of Bowman’s capsule. Results: After retrospective analysis of the data, 24 children (42.9%) were found to have BCR. The results showed that BCR positively correlated with intrarenal immune cell infiltrates, obsolescence and crescents in glomeruli, tubulointerstitial inflammation, tubulitis, and tubular atrophy negatively correlated with normal glomeruli and immunoglobulin G deposition in the kidney. The clinical features and kidney pathological changes were more severe in the BCR (+) group than BCR (–) group, and the renal survival rate was significantly poorer in the BCR (+) group than BCR (–) group (χ2 = 5.45, p = 0.02). Moreover, estimated glomerular filtration rate (≤15 mL/ min/1.73 m2), BCR and ANCA renal risk score (ARRS) were independent risk factors for the development of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) in children with MPO-AAGN. After combining BCR with the Berden classification and ARRS, our data suggested that the Berden classification + BCR and ARRS + BCR showed better predictive values for ESKD than those of the Berden classification and ARRS, respectively. Conclusion: BCR is an important pathological lesion that correlates with severe clinical manifestations, pathological changes, and poor prognosis in children with MPO-AAGN.

Objective:To explore and analyze the clinical features and prognostic factors of secondary intestinal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(SI-DLBCL),in order to provide reference for the basic research and clinical diagnosis and treatment of secondary lymphoma of rare sites in the field of hematology. Methods:The clinical data of 138 patients with SI-DLBCL admitted to Fujian Medical University Union Hospital from June 2011 to June 2022 were collected and sorted, the clinical and pathological features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis were analyzed.Cox regression risk model was used to conduct univariate and multivariate analysis on the prognostic risk factors. Results:Among the 138 patients with SI-DLBCL included in this study,85(61.59%)were male,53(38.41%)were female, the median age of onset was 59.5(16-84)years,the clinical manifestations lacked specificity, the first-line treatment regimen was mainly chemotherapy(67.39%),94 cases(68.12%)received chemotherapy alone,40 cases(28.98%)were treated with chemotherapy combined with surgery, and 4 cases(2.90%)were treated with surgery alone. The median follow-up time was 72(1-148)months.Among the 138 patients with SI-DLBCL,79(57.25%)survived,34(24.64%)died,25 cases(18.12%)lost to follow-up,the PFS rates of 1-year,3-year and 5-year were 57.97%,49.28%and 32.61%,and the OS rates of 1-year,3-year and 5-year were 60.14%,54.35%and 34.06%,respectively.The results of univariate Cox regression analysis showed that age,Lugano stage and IPI score were the influencing factors of OS in SI-DLBCL patients, and age,Lugano stage and IPI score were the influencing factors of PFS in SI-DLBCL patients. The results of multivariate Cox analysis showed that Lugano stage was an independent prognostic factor affecting OS and PFS in SI-DLBCL patients. Conclusion:Patients with SI-DLBCL are more common in middle-aged and elderly men,and the early clinical manifestations lack specificity, and the first-line treatment regimen is mainly R-CHOP chemotherapy, and Lugano stage is an independent prognostic factor affecting OS and PFS in SI-DLBCL patients.
