Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is the most common chronic respiratory disease around the world, and pharmacotherapy is the foremost treatment method currently. In recent decades, with the rapid development of bronchoscopic interventional therapy, endoscopic physical ablation technology presents a therapeutic effect in treating COPD, with few treatment-related side effects, showing excellent application prospects in treating COPD. Since ablation techniques in this field are emerging technologies with low patient acceptance, they are not widely used in the clinical treatment of COPD. This article reviews the development process of physical ablation techniques. Moreover, their current application status and the prospects in the field of COPD treatment are also summarized and analyzed. We hope to promote the application of physical ablation in the clinical treatment of COPD and provide practical references and a theoretical basis for the clinical treatment of COPD.

This study aims to investigate the optimal ratio of Astragali Radix-Curcumae Rhizoma(AC) for inhibiting the proliferation of 143B osteosarcoma cells, and to investigate the mechanism by which AC inhibits osteosarcoma growth and metastasis through angiogenesis and cell adhesion mediated by the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K)/protein kinase B(Akt)/hypoxia inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α) pathway. A subcutaneous 143B tumor-bearing nude mouse model was successfully established and randomly divided into the model group, and the AC 1∶1, 2∶1, and 4∶1 groups. Body weight, tumor volume, and tumor weight were recorded. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR) and Western blot were used to detect the mRNA and protein expression levels of PI3K, Akt, phosphorylated Akt(p-Akt), HIF-1α, vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGFA), transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1), epithelial cadherin(E-cadherin), neural cadherin(N-cadherin), vimentin, matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP2), matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP9), B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2), Bcl-2-associated X protein(Bax), and caspase-3 in the hypoxic core region of the tumor tissue. A cell hypoxia model was established, and the effects of AC-medicated serum(model group, AC 1∶1, 2∶1, and 4∶1 groups) on angiogenesis, proliferation, adhesion, invasion, and migration of 143B osteosarcoma cells were examined through CCK-8, flow cytometry, Transwell assay, cell adhesion assay, and HUVEC tube formation assay. The results showed that compared with the model group, the tumor weight and volume were smallest in the 2∶1 group. The expression levels of PI3K, Akt, p-Akt, HIF-1α, VEGFA, and TGF-β1 were significantly decreased, and the protein expression of E-cadherin was significantly increased, while the protein expression of N-cadherin, vimentin, MMP2, and MMP9 was significantly decreased. Additionally, the protein expression of Bax and caspase-3 was significantly increased, and Bcl-2 protein expression was significantly decreased. In vitro experiments showed that after intervention with AC-medicated serum at a 2∶1 ratio, the cell activity, adhesion, invasion, and migration of 143B cells were significantly reduced, apoptosis was significantly increased, and HUVEC tube formation was significantly decreased. In conclusion, the 2∶1 ratio of AC showed the most effective inhibition of 143B cell growth. AC can inhibit the growth and metastasis of osteosarcoma 143B cells by regulating the PI3K/Akt/HIF-1α signaling pathway, inhibiting angiogenesis and reducing cell adhesion, invasion, and migration.

Allergic rhinitis(AR)affects 10%-40%of the population in the world.Because CLOCK genes regulate the circadian rhythms of AR,the symptoms in parts of the patients are aggravated in the morning and evening and relieved at moon.Although lots of studies showed that traditional Chinese medicine is effective for AR,further explores are still needed to analyze the circadian rhythm of AR based on Chinese Chronological Medicine for controlling the circadian outbreak point of symptoms of AR in daily cycle. We supposed that Weiyang might play an important role for controlling the circadian rhythm of AR with closed similarities with the tidal variation of the expressions of CLOCK genes. Thus based on Weiyang theory,we tried to clarify the mechanism of circadian rhythm of AR and explore the relationship between Weiyang and the CLOCK genes so as to further expand the treatment methods of adjusting the circadian cycle of AR with TCM and improve the corresponding therapeutic efficacy.

Objective:To analyze the prenatal ultrasonographic features and prognosis of fetal perirenal urinoma. Methods:This retrospective study included eight fetuses with perirenal urinoma diagnosed by prenatal ultrasound in the Women and Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January 2017 to August 2023. Descriptive analysis was performed on their prenatal ultrasonographic features, intrauterine intervention measures, postnatal treatment, and prognosis. Results:Among the eight cases, the prenatal ultrasonographic diagnosis was consistent with the postnatal clinical diagnosis in seven cases, with one misdiagnosis (postnatally confirmed as giant renal cyst with multicystic dysplastic kidney). Prenatal ultrasonographic features of fetal perirenal urinoma included cystic mass adjacent to the renal capsule; obvious compression of the surrounding organs and the affected kidney; increased craniocaudal diameter of the affected kidney with thin parenchyma, increased echogenicity, indistinct corticomedullary differentiation, and pyeletasis; poorly visualized partial renal arteries; normal or mildly enlarged contralateral kidney; adequate bladder filling; normal amniotic fluid volume. Two cases underwent intrauterine cyst aspiration with subsequent cyst size reduction (slight re-enlargement during follow-up). Among the remaining six untreated cases, one case showed stable cyst size, while five cases exhibited initial significant cyst enlargement followed by stabilization or regression trend. All eight cases were born at full term (three delivered vaginally and five by cesarean section). The affected kidney was significantly atrophied within one week after birth by ultrasound observation. Impaired function of the affected kidney was shown in four patients by follow-up after discharge (including two cases of intrauterine treatment),one case abandoned treatment due to other illnesses, two cases were lost to follow-up after discharge. Conclusions:Prenatal ultrasound images of perirenal urinary cysts infetuses exhibit typical features. Intrauterine treatment can reduce the compression of large cysts and hydronephrosis on fetal organs, but there is no significant improvement in the recovery of renal function.

Objective To investigate the association between lifestyle and risk of heart disease and diabetes in the elderly population in Xi'an City. Methods From January 2021 to January 2024, a staged cluster sampling method was used to investigate the lifestyle and the occurrence of heart disease and diabetes in elderly population aged 60 years and above in the communities of Xi'an. Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between lifestyle and the risk of heart disease and diabetes. Results A total of 413 elderly people were investigated, of which 31.96% had heart disease, 27.12% had diabetes, and 10.90% had diabetes with heart disease. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that age, BMI, family history, sweet food preference, smoking, and sitting and lying for a long time were risk factors for diabetes in the elderly population (P<0.05). Age, BMI, family history, history of diabetes, preference for salted products, smoking, drinking, and sitting and lying for a long time were risk factors for heart disease in the elderly population (P<0.05). Conclusion The incidence rates of heart disease and diabetes are high in the elderly population in Xi'an City. The risk of diabetes is related to unhealthy lifestyles such as sweet food preference, smoking, and sitting and lying for a long time, while heart disease is related to unhealthy lifestyles such as preference for salted products, smoking, drinking, and sitting and lying for a long time.

Compared to traditional machine learning algorithms, which often suffer from low feature extraction efficiency, insufficient nonlinear pattern recognition capabilities and slow training speeds, the broad learning system(BLS)enhances the learning ability and efficiency by horizontally expanding the network structure.BLS offers advantages such as a simple structure, fast training speed, and strong generalization capabilities. While BLS has demonstrated potential in various fields, but its application in identification of complex samples has not been fully explored. This research investigated the feasibility of using BLS algorithm for identification of complex samples based on physicochemical indicators.Using the iris, wine, and breast cancer datasets, the length and width of petals and sepals of iris flowers, the physicochemical properties of wine, and the nuclear characteristics of breast cancer cells were used as input variables to establish BLS models for identifying iris species, wine varieties, and benign versus malignant nucleus. The model performance was evaluated by confusion matrices, accuracy, and runtime.Compared with partial least squares-discriminant analysis(PLS-DA),soft independent modeling of class analogies(SIMCA),and artificial neural networks(ANN),the results indicated that BLS demonstrated significant advantages in computational efficiency and recognition accuracy. Thus,BLS was an efficient and reliable method for identification of complex samples.

To perform the phylogenetic characterization of an isolated porcine rotavirus(PoRV)and investigate its pathogenicity in suckling mice and piglets.A G4P[23]genotype PoRV strain JSJR2023 was successfully isolated from the diarrheic piglet feces through propagation in MA104 cells. The viral proliferation kinetics were analyzed using TCID50 assays, followed by complete genome sequencing through Sanger sequencing platforms.Comprehensive genotyping and phylogenetic reconstruction were conducted using MEGA7.0 with maximum likelihood algorithms.Pathogenicity was assessed in the following animal models:5-day-old C57BL/6 mice and 3-day-old piglets.Multidimensional evaluation included clinical monitoring(diarrhea scoring, growth parameters),virological detection, and histopathological analysis of intestinal tissues. The virus strain JSJR2023 could replicate efficiently in MA104 cells, achieving peak titers of 107.5 TCID50/mL.Whole genome genotype analysis showed that the strain belonged to G4-P[23]-I5-R1-C1-M1-A8-N1-T1-E1-H1.Phylogenetic analysis indicated that the VP3 and NSP4 genes of JSJR2023 strain were most closedrelated to human species rotaviruses, suggesting genetic reassortment between human and porcine RV strains. The animal experiments in suckling mice showed that the JSJR2023 strain infection caused diarrhea symptoms, intestinal edema and congestion, and shedding of intestinal villus epithelial cells. The pathogenicity experiments in piglets showed that compared with the control group, the challenged group of pig-lets had severe diarrhea symptoms, accompanied by reduced appetite and listlessness.Post-mortem examination revealed that the intes-tines were significantly thinner, congested, and filled with yellow watery contents. The challenged piglets showed typical pathological changes such as thinning of the intestinal wall and shortening and shedding of intestinal villi. In conclusion, this study successfully iso-lated a human-porcine recombinant G4P[23]PoRV strain and established the infection models in suckling mice and piglets, providing important tools for investigating the pathogenic mechanism of PoRV,evaluating vaccines and developing antiviral drug.
