1.Mechanical Loading Improves Qi-Blood Nourishment in "Sinew Wei (痿)"via Mitochondrial Regulation

This study focuses on the core pathology of sinew wei (痿), which is mainly characterized by the fai-lure of qi and blood to nourish the sinews. A mechanical-biological response framework is constructed with mitochondria as a key component, explaining the modern interpretation of the disease location of sinew transmitting to qi and blood pathology. Mechanical loading, as a physical stress stimulus applied to the body, manifests primarily as passive loading formed by external forces such as massage, and active loading resulting from voluntary muscle contractions, such as dao yin (导引). Mechanical loading can regulate mitochondrial function through two pathways, mechanical signal transduction and metabolic demand-driven regulation. Skeletal muscle mitochondrial dysfunction is regarded as the core microscopic basis of qi imbalance in sinew wei, highlighting the intrinsic connection between qi and mitochondrial energy metabolism, as well as between blood and microcirculatory efficiency. Accordingly, distinct regulatory patterns of mechanical loading are identified. Wei associated with qi stagnation may correspond to mitochondrial network fragmentation and can be treated by regulating qi through passive loading, such as tuina, to restore mitochondrial dynamics. In contrast, wei caused by qi deficiency is attributed to insufficient mitochondrial biogenesis and may be treated by tonifying qi through active loading, such as dao yin, to promote mitochondrial biogenesis. This framework reveals the biological differences in mitochondrial regulation induced by distinct mechanical loading modalities and provides a microscopic mechanism-based explanation for the principle of "treating the same disease with different methods" in sinew wei.
2.An Epidemiological Analysis of 1500 Pediatric Burns Patients at the Burn Center in Yunnan

Objective To study the characteristics of pediatric burn epidemiology in this area.Methods Data of 1 500 pediatric burn patients admitted to the Burn Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from January 1,2018 to December 31,2022 were collected.The age,sex,time of burn occurrence,type of burn,burn area,burn site,proportion of pediatric burn patients in the same period,length of hospitalization,payment method,hospitalization cost and residence of pediatric burn patients were statistically analyzed.Results The most common time for childhood burns to occur is during early childhood(873 cases,58.2%),with male children more likely to suffer burns compared to female children(male∶female=1.9∶1).The most frequent season for these burns is spring(404 cases,26.9%).Scalding from hot liquids is the primary cause of injury(1211 cases,81.0%).Most childhood burns are classified as moderate severity(945 cases,63.0%).The maximum burn area recorded was 98.0%TBSA,the minimum was 0.1%TBSA,the average burn area was 14.5%TBSA,and the median was 10.0%TBSA.The most common site of burns in children is the trunk(982 cases,23.4%).From 2018 to 2022,the proportion of pediatric burn patients among all burn patients has been decreasing annually(x2=18.852,P<0.001).The average length of hospitalization for pediatric burn patients was 12.4 days,with an average hospitalization cost of 15667.08 yuan.Most of the families of pediatric burn patients live in county-level areas or below(1 027 cases,68.5%).The severity of the burns,treatment methods,and presence of complications all significantly affect the clinical outcomes of pediatric burns,with statistically significant differences(x2=23.453,P<0.001).Conclusion Pediatric burn patients exhibit a range of significant characteristics.The majority of these patients are male,with the most common age group being toddlers.Spring has been identified as the season with the highest incidence of burns,while autumn sees relatively fewer cases.Scald injuries from hot liquids are the most common type of burn,with moderate burns being the most prevalent.The average bum area is approximately 14.5%of the total body surface area(TBSA).The limbs and trunk are the most commonly affected areas.In recent years,there has been a noticeable decrease in the proportion of pediatric burn patients,which is attributed to the growing awareness of burn prevention among the general population.
3.Clinical efficacy observation of spine subtle adjusting manipulation for postpartum low back pain

Objective: To explore the clinical efficacy of spine subtle adjusting manipulation for postpartum low back pain (PLBP). Methods: A total of 76 patients with PLBP were randomized into a control group and a treatment group, with 38 cases in each group. The control group was treated with core muscle strengthening exercises, and the treatment group was treated with spine subtle adjusting manipulation. After 3 weeks of treatment, the clinical efficacy was observed, and the visual analog scale (VAS) score and Oswestry disability index (ODI), and the changes of lumbar Cobb angle and pelvic rotation were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 92.1%, and that of the control group was 78.9%. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the VAS score and ODI in both groups decreased, and the intra-group differences were all statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no intra-group statistical differences in the lumbar Cobb angle or pelvic rotation in the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, there were no statistical differences in the lumbar Cobb angle or pelvic rotation between the two groups (P>0.05); the VAS score and ODI in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Spine subtle adjusting manipulation can effectively relieve the pain for patients with PLBP, and improve their daily activity function.
4.Research progress of stroke self-management assessment tools and interventions

Stroke self-management model is still in the exploratory stage, lacking of systematic and well-informed intervention measures. The concept of stroke self-management, assessment tools, influencing factors and intervention measures and methods based on influencing factors were reviewed in this paper. The purpose of this study was to provide some reference for the formulation of stroke health management intervention program and the development of rigorous stroke health management practice research.
