Objective:To explore the clinical, imaging, and pathological features of glottic squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx and their relationship with prognosis. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical, imaging, and pathological data of 130 patients with glottic squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx who were treated at the First People's Hospital of Yinchuan and the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from January 2018 to March 2023. Imaging examinations （CT and MRI） were used to evaluate the lesion boundary clarity, density, enhancement nature, and enhancement degree. Postoperative pathological examination was used to determine the pathological nature, immunohistochemistry, etc. Statistical methods such as χ² test, Spearman correlation analysis, multivariate logistic regression analysis, and Kaplan-Meier method were used to analyze the data. Results:Among the 130 patients, 127 were male and 3 were female, with an average age of （61.92±9.595） years. There was a correlation between clinical, imaging, and pathological features. Multivariate analysis showed that heterogeneous MRI density （OR=12.414;P=0.019） and squamous cell carcinoma as a subtype were correlated. The initial symptom of non-hoarseness （HR=6.045;P=0.010） and unclear MRI boundary （HR=12.559; P=0.029） were independent risk factors for poor prognosis in patients with glottic squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx. Conclusion:There is a correlation between the clinical, imaging, and pathological features of patients with glottic squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx, and they can affect prognosis. The initial symptom of non-hoarseness and unclear MRI boundary of the tumor are independent risk factors for poor prognosis.

Objective:To investigate the mechanism of Juanbi Capsules in the intervention of knee osteoarthritis by inhibiting lipid peroxidation and chondrocyte ferroptosis through activating nuclear factor E2 related factor (Nrf2)/glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPx4) signaling pathway.Methods:Totally 45 rats were randomly divided into blank group, model group and Juanbi Capsules low-, medium- and high-dosage groups, with 9 rats in each group. Except the blank group, the other groups were injected with sodium monoiodoacetate (MIA) to establish knee osteoarthritis model. From the third week of modeling, rats in Juanbi Capsules low-, medium- and high-dosage groups were gavaged with 108.05, 216.09, and 432.18 mg/kg of Juanbi Capsules suspension, and rats in the blank group and model group were gavaged with equal volume of normal saline, once a day, for 28 consecutive days. HE and safranine fast green staining were used to observe the pathological changes of cartilage tissue, and Mankin's score was performed; the levels of MDA, Fe 2+, glutathione (GSH) in articular cartilage were detected by biochemical kit; Western blot was used to detect the protein expressions of SLC7A11, GPx4, acsll4 and Nrf2 in rat articular cartilage. Results:Compared with the model group, the Mankin's score was significantly lower in the Juanbi Capsules middle- and high-dosage groups ( P<0.01); the MDA level decreased in Juanbi Capsules low-, medium- and high-dosage groups ( P<0.01), GSH level increased ( P<0.01), and and Fe 2+ level decreased Juanbi Capsules middle- and high-dosage groups ( P<0.01, P<0.05); the protein expressions of Nrf2, SLC7A11 and GPx4 in cartilage tissue of Juanbi Capsules middle- and high-dosage groups increased ( P<0.01 or P<0.05), the expression of ACSl4 protein decreased ( P<0.01 or P<0.05), and SLC7A11 protein expression increased in Juanbi Capsules low-dosage group ( P<0.05). Conclusion:Juanbi Capsule may inhibit the ferroptosis of rat articular cartilage by activating the Nrf2/GPX4 signaling pathway.

Objective To compare the safety and efficacy of flow diverter with adjunctive spring coils(FAC)and simple flow diverter(FD)in the treatment of large or giant intracranial aneurysms.Methods The clinical data of 48 patients with large or giant intracranial aneurysm(55 intracranial aneurysms in total),who were treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University of China from January 2018 to September 2023,were retrospectively analyzed.According to the treatment method,the patients were divided into pure FD group and FAC group.The aneurysm occlusion rate and the incidence of procedure-related complications were compared between the two groups.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify risk factors for procedure-related complications.Results A total of 55 intracranial aneurysms detected in the 48 patients were included in this study.The median maximum diameter of aneurysms was 20.25 mm(16.45,24.62 mm).Among them,12 aneurysms were treated with FD alone,and 43 aneurysms were treated with FAC.The median follow-up time was 6.63 months(5.88,8.07 months).Compared with pure FD group,in FAC group the occlusion rate of aneurysms was significantly higher(86.1％vs.50.0％,P=0.023),while there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of procedure-related complications between the two groups(18.18％vs.16.67％,P=1.000).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the use of more than one stent(OR=6.63,95％CI=1.10-39.88,P=0.039)and the difference between the distal parent artery diameter and the stent diameter(Dd)(OR=7.00,95％CI=1.4-35.7,P=0.019)were the independent risk factors for procedure-related complications.The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)of the receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)for distal parent artery Dd was 0.854(95％CI=0.746-0.963).Conclusion For the treatment of large or giant intracranial aneurysms,FAC is clinically safe and effective.The mid-term follow-up aneurysm occlusion rate of FAC is higher than that of simple FD treatment.The use of more than one stent and the distal parent artery Dd are the independent risk factors for procedure-related complications in the treatment of large or giant intracranial aneurysms with FD.

Objective To investigate the safety and efficacy of flow-directed devices(flow diverter,FD)in the treatment of intracranial anterior cerebral artery aneurysms(ACAA).Methods The clinical data of 21 patients with ACAA,who were admitted to the Department of Neurointerventional Medicine of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University of China to receive FD treatment between February 2019 and August 2022,were retrospectively analyzed.After the treatment,O'Kelly Marotta(OKM)grading criteria was used to determine the degree of occlusion of the aneurysm,and the modified Rankin Scale(mRS)score was adopted to assess the clinical prognosis(0-2 points being defined as a good prognosis,and 3-5 points being defined as a poor prognosis).Results A total of 24 FD stents were implanted in 24 patients(24 aneurysms in total),and the technical success rate of stent implantation was 100％.During the perioperative period,complications occurred in 2 patients(8.3％),including hemorrhagic event(n=l)and ischemic event(n=l).The mRS score in all the 24 patients was ≤2 points.Follow-up imaging examination showed that OKM grade B was seen in 2 patients(8.3％),grade C in 6 patients(25％),and grade D(complete healing)in 16 patients(66.7％).Conclusion For the treatment of ACAA,the FD stent implantation is a safe and effective method.During the postoperative and the long-term follow-up period,neither serious ischemic or hemorrhagic complications nor neurological complications are observed.

OBJECTIVE To analyze the clinicopathological features of laryngeal squamous carcinoma tumors and their correlation with prognosis in order to improve the understanding and diagnosis of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.METHODS The clinical and pathological data(including gender,age,stage,differentiation,immunohistochemistry,etc.)of 179 patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma[171 males,8 females,aged 30-84(61.53±8.02)years]who were treated in Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery,The First and Second Clinical Medical Schools of Ningxia Medical University from January 2015 to December 2022 were retrospectively studied,and the effects of various factors on prognosis were analyzed.RESULTS Among the 179 patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma,the male-to-female ratio was 21.4:1,and the incidence was high in the age group of 60-79 years old(58.7%),and the youngest age of onset was 30 years old.The main clinical manifestations were hoarseness 138 cases(77.1%),sore throat 16 cases(8.9%)and pharyngeal foreign body sensation 13 cases(7.3%).Glottic type was more common in the primary site 135 cases(75.4%),and 31 cases were accompanied by cervical lymph node metastasis(17.3%).The degree of differentiation was more common in the moderately differentiated type 80 cases(44.7%).The positive rates of immunohistochemistry markers p16,EGFR(epidermal growth factor receptor),PD-1/PD-L1 and VEGF(vascular endothelial growth factor)were 20.3%,96.4%,36.4%and 77.3%,respectively.Univariate Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that the site of disease,lymph node metastasis,and tumor stage were significantly correlated with disease recurrence.Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that the clinical stage of the tumor was an independent risk factor for the prognosis of the disease(HR=3.715,95%CI:1.519-9.088,P=0.04).CONCLUSION The stage of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma,the site of the disease,and the metastasis of the lymph nodes are the main factors affecting the prognosis.The high positive expression rate of immunohistochemistry markers EGFR and VEGF is worth paying attention to Targeted therapy for patients with positive PD-1/PD-L1 testing is a promising research direction.

Objective: To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of allergic rhinitis (AR) in Ningxia and to analyze its related factors. Methods: From March to September of 2013, a multi-stage and cluster sampling method was used to investigate the diagnosis and treatment of AR in Ningxia Area (3 years and above). Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of allergic rhinitis (2009, Wuyishan) was used as the basis for the diagnosis of adult AR, while Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of pediatric allergic rhinitis (2010, Chongqing) was used as the basis for children. SPSS 16.0 software was used to complete the statistical analysis. Results: The total number of questionnaires was 6 000, and the number of effective questionnaire was 5 236, the recovery rate was 87.27%. With 684 cases diagnosed of AR, the prevalence of AR in Ningxia was 13.06% (684/5 236), including 13.40% (325/2 425) of males, 12.77% (359/2 811) of females. The difference was not statistically significant (χ²=0.456, P>0.05). There was significant difference in the prevalence between Hui and Han [14.35% (452/3 150) vs 11.12% (232/2 086), χ²=11.51, P<0.05]. According to ARIA criteria, persistent AR was 27.63% (189/684), intermittent AR was 72.37% (495/684). The month with highest incidence of AR in Ningxia Area was September, accounting for 71.78% (491/684). The prevalence of urban population was 14.54%, with the prevalence of rural population was 11.90%, and the difference was significant between urban and rural residents (χ²=7.90, P<0.05). The age group with highest prevalence rate was 21~30 years old. The main inhalation allergens were mugwort (68.42%), weeds (58.48%) and ragweed (55.56%). The main dietary allergens were wheat flour (14.33%), peanut (13.74%) and walnut kernel (11.99%). The most common complication was allergic conjunctivitis [82.02% (561/684)]. Conclusion The epidemiology of AR in Ningxia Area is preliminarily understood, which will provide the epidemiological evidence for the prevention and treatment of AR and the formulation of public health policy.

Objective To investigate the relationship between gene polymorphisms of homocysteine (Hcy), metabolic enzymes methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase MTHFR C677T and chronic pulmonary heart disease (CPHD). Methods The gene polymorphisms of MTHFR C677T were determined by the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP)in CPHD patients (n=120) and healthy control (HC, n=120), and genotyping was carried on. The automatic biochemistry analyzer was used to detect the level of Hcy and other related biochemical indicators. Results There was significant difference in Hcy level between the CPHD group and HC group (P<0.05). The mutation frequencies of CC, CT and TT were 24.17%, 43.33%and 32.50%, 35.00%, 47.50%and 17.50%in the CPHD group and HC group. The mutation frequencies of allele C/T were 45.83%and 54.17%in HC group, and 58.75%and 41.25%in control group. There was significant difference in the overall frequency distribution between the three genotypes (χ2 =8.010, P<0.05). The frequency of T allele was significantly higher in CPHD group than that in control group (χ2=8.025,P<0.05). Conclusion The increased Hcy and its metabolic enzyme MTHFR C677T may be involved in the occurrence and development of CPHD.

Objective To investigate the effect of dihydroartemisinin on pulmonary fibrosis and its mechanism in rats.Methods Seventy-five SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups:the control group,the model group,the high dihydroartemisinin group,the low dihydroartemisinin group,and the prednisone group(15 rats in each group).Saline(9 g/L,0.3 mL) was injected into the rat trachea of the control group,and the rats of the rest 4 groups were injected bleomycin(3 mg/kg).The rats in the control group and the model group received saline lavage (9 g/L,3 mL),while the rats in the high dihydroartemi-sinin group and the low dihydroartemisinin group received dihydroartemisinin lavage (100,50 mg/kg),and the rats in the prednisone group received prednisone lavage each day.Five rats in each group were sacrificed and lung tissues were removed on the 8th,15th,and 29th day of lavage,and the degree of inflammation in lung tissue was observed by HE staining.The deposit of collagen in lung tissue was observed by Masson staining.The expressions of transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1),collagen Ⅰ and collagen Ⅲ in pneumonic tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry.Results The degree of inflammation in pneumonic tissues in the high dihydroartemisinin group,the low dihydroartemisinin group,and the prednisone group were less significantly than that in the model group(all P ＜ 0.01).The deposit of collagen in lung tissues in the model group was obviously increased than that of the control group at each time points(all P ＜0.01).The deposit of collagen in lung tissues in the high dihydroartemisinin group,the low dihydroartemisinin group and the prednisone group were lower than that in the model group(all P ＜0.01),and higher than that of the control group at each time points(all P ＜0.01).There was no significant difference between the high dihydroartemisinin group and the prednisone group (P ＞ 0.05).TGF-β1,collagen Ⅰ and collagen Ⅲ in lung tissues in the high dihydroartemisinin group and the prednisone group were lower than those in the model group(P ＜0.01),and higher than those in the control group at each time points(all P ＜ 0.01).There was no significant difference in TGF-β1,collagen Ⅰ and collagen Ⅲ in lung tissue between the high dihydroartemisinin group and the prednisone group(all P ＞0.05),except that collagen Ⅲ expression in lung tissues was lower than that of the prednisone group on the 29th day (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions Dihydroartemisinin can lessen the extent of pulmonary fibrosis in rats and its anti-fibrosis effect is dose-dependent.The anti-fibrosis effect of dihydroartemisinin may decrease the deposit of collagens in the lung tissues by inhibiting TGF-β1 expression in the lung tissues and have an effect of antifibrosis.

Objective To study the imaging findings of pulmonary lymphangitic carcinomatosis (PLC) and discuss it′s clinical value. Methods The imaging materials of 40 cases with PLC which were proved by bronchoscopic or pleural or open-lung biopsy were retrospectively analyzed, and the clinical application of imaging diagnosis were investigated. Results The primary tumorous pathological types of PLC included:13 cases peripheral type carcinoma of lung,2 cases central type carcinoma of lung,11 cases mammary cancer,6 cases gastric carcinoma,4 cases pancreatic carcinoma,3 cases renal carcinoma,1 case colon carcinoma. The major imaging features of PLC were showed as pleural nodes, lobular core nodes, intralobular small reticular and nodular shadows, small beaded thickened interlobular septums, beaded thickened bronchovascular bundles, tumescent pulmonary hilar and/or mediastinal lymph nodes. Conclusion PLC possess relative imaging feature, particularly HRCT may accurately reflect pathological feature of PLC. Imaging diagnosis is a satisfactory method in diagnosing pulmonary lymphangial metastasis of malignant tumor.
