Assessing the Role of Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation in Enhancing Treatment Compliance Among Adult Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patients in Central Jakarta Community Health Centers Introduction Pulmonary Tuberculosis is a significant health concern in Indonesia, ranking second worldwide in terms of the number of cases. The treatment success rate for pulmonary TB remains below the national target, largely due to patients’low motivation to complete their treatment. This study analyzed how intrinsic motivation based on Health Belief Model and extrinsic motivation influence treatment completion among adult tuberculosis patients in Central Jakarta. Methods This observational analytic study employed a cross-sectional design, involving 105 patients aged 20-60 who were receiving treatment at three health centers Johar Baru, Gambir, and Tanah Abang. Data were gathered using closed-ended questionnaires and analyzed through Chi-Square tests and binary logistic regression. Results A total of 403 studies were identified, of which 24 met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that self-efficacy (p < 0.05), family support (p < 0.05), and perceived benefits (p < 0.05) were significant predictors of treatment adherence, playing critical role in enhancing patients’ readiness to complete therapy. Conclusions Willingness to undergo tuberculosis treatment is affected by self-efficacy and family support.
