Skeletal muscle atrophy is characterized by a reduction in both the size and quantity of skeletal muscle fibers, resulting in impaired muscle strength and function. It mainly includes disuse muscle atrophy, aging muscle atrophy, denervated muscle atrophy and muscle atrophy caused by disease etc. As a cost-effective way, exercise has been widely used in the prevention and treatment of skeletal muscle atrophy, but its mechanism for improving skeletal muscle atrophy remains unclear. Recent studies have indicated that insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) plays an important role in improving muscle atrophy through exercise, in addition to promoting the survival of neurons, lowering blood sugar, and anti-inflammation. This article reviews recent findings on the mechanisms by which IGF-1 mediates exercise-induced improvement in skeletal muscle atrophy, providing a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of this disease.

OBJECTIVE To standardize the strategies for prevention and control of Chikungunya(CHIK)in healthcare in-stitutions so as to reduce the risk of transmission in the institutions.METHODS A working group comprising the ex-perts in hospital infection control, infectious diseases, and microbiology systematically reviewed domestic and international evidence and current guidelines, integrated China's vector ecology and healthcare realities, conducted two rounds of Delphi to achieve expert consensus, and graded the evidence and recommendation strength using the Oxford Centre for Evidence Based Medicine system.RESULTS The consensus issues 18 actionable recommendations on triage, patient mosquito-proof isolation, integrated vector control, protection of susceptible populations, environmental cleaning and disinfection, specimen management, medical textile handling, and outbreak emergency response, with each statement assigned an evi-dence level and recommendation strength.CONCLUSION This consensus is for the first time in China to provide evidence-graded strategies for control of CHIK in healthcare institutions, offering work flow-oriented,implementable guidance for clinicians, laboratorians, and infection-control personnel under different risk scenarios and enhancing the comprehensive coping capacity of the healthcare institutions.

Objective Tetanus is a serious infectious diseases with high mortality, which is an important global public health issue. This study aims to analyze the epidemiological burden and changing trends of tetanus in China from 1990 to 2021,providing a basis for disease prevention and control. Methods Epidemiological indicators and global socio-demographic index(SDI)related to tetanus in China were retrieved and collected from the 2021 Global Burden of Disease database(GBD 2021).The trend analysis of the incidence rate, mortality rate and disability-ad-justed life years(DALYs)rate of tetanus in China from 1990 to 2021 was conducted by Joinpoint 5.3 software. Results From 1990 to 2021,the age-standardized incidence rate(ASIR),age-standardized mortality rate(ASMR),and age-standardized disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)rate of tetanus in China decreased significantly(average annual percent change[AAPC]<0,P<0.001),with males being significantly higher than females. The crude incidence rate, crude mortality rate, and crude DALYs rate for all age groups showed overall declining trends, with the lar-gest decline in the 0-14 years age group. In 2021,the crude incidence rate, crude mortality rate, and crude DALYs rate of tetanus in the population aged 70-years were higher than those in the population aged 0-14,15-49,and 50-69 years groups. The ASIR,ASMR,and age-standardized DALYs rate of tetanus in China in 2021 were lower than the global level, only higher than those in the high SDI regions. Conclusion From 1990 to 2021,the disease burden of tetanus in China varied with gender and age, with an overall declining trend over time.It is necessary to strengthen tetanus health education for males and the ≥70 years population, and to improve the overall level of pri-mary prevention measures for tetanus.

Chinese Hospital Management 2024;44(6):73-76,86
It uses research methods such as questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews with key informants to investigate the quantitative data, settlement costs, satisfaction, and other actual operations of the"dual channel"electronic prescription circulation and medical insurance online settlement pilot project in Shenzhen in June 2022.It explores and analyzes its advantages in effectively eliminating counterfeit paper prescriptions,real-time sharing of pharmacy inventory, transparency of drug prices, and limitations in prescription circulation coverage. And it makes suggestions for optimizing the prescription review process, such as creating a unified and standardized prescription circu-lation model, constructing a standardized and efficient management system for purchased drug catalogs, and strengthening information privacy and data security, are proposed.
