Objective: To explore the effects of personality and sleep quality with psychological distress of junior and senior high school stduents, so as to provide a reference basis for precise interventions of junior and senior high school students mental health. Methods: In October 2023, a convenience sampling method was used to select 9 034 students aged 12-17 from Shiyan City as the study subjects. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10) were used to collect information on sleep quality and psychological distress of junior and senior high school stduents. Between group comparison was conducted by using t-test and Chi-square test. Generalized linear models were employed to analyze the interaction and joint effects of personality and sleep quality on psychological distress. Results: The generalized linear model analysis showed that the interaction between personality and sleep quality on psychological distress was statistically significant of junior and senior high school students(effect size=0.80, P <0.01). The general linear model analysis indicated that, after adjusting for variables such as age, gender, screen time, and daily sitting time with the extroverted and good sleep quality group as the reference, the introverted and poor sleep quality group had the largest mean difference in psychological distress scores (difference=0.51, P <0.05). When stratified by sleep quality, psychological distress scores were higher in the introverted and neutral personality groups with both poor and good sleep quality compared to the extroverted group (poor sleep quality: introverted difference=3.71, neutral difference=1.14; good sleep quality: introverted difference=2.23, neutral difference=0.57, all P < 0.05). When stratified by personality, psychological distress scores were higher in the poor sleep quality groups for introverted, neutral, and extroverted individuals compared to their good sleep quality counterparts (differences=8.66, 7.83, 7.34, all P < 0.05 ). Conclusions Personality and sleep quality have interactive and joint effects on psychological distress of junior and senior high school stduents. Personalized psychological interventions should be developed based on personality and sleep quality.

This article systematically reviews relevant research on farrerol both domestically and internationally， summarizes its pharmacological activities and mechanisms of action， and finds that it exerts cardiovascular and cerebrovascular protective effects by maintaining the homeostasis of vascular endothelial function and inhibiting vascular intimal hyperplasia； exerts renal protective effects by activating the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 （Nrf2） signaling pathway to reduce renal damage； exerts liver protective effects by inhibiting the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B signaling pathway， activating the Nrf2 signaling pathway， improving insulin resistance， and reducing lipid deposition in the liver； exerts neuroprotective effects by activating the Nrf2/Keap1 signaling pathway， inhibiting the Toll-like receptor 4 and cyclic GMP-AMP synthase/stimulator of interferon genes signaling pathways to reduce neuroinflammatory damage； exerts bone protective effects by promoting tendon formation and inhibiting osteoclast differentiation； exerts antitumor effects by inducing tumor cell apoptosis and weakening tumor cell invasion and metastasis； and exerts antibacterial effects by downregulating α -toxin expression， interfering with β -lactamase/penicillin-binding protein 2a （PBP2a）， and inhibiting PBP2a oligomerization. Currently， research on the pharmacological effects of farrerol is still mainly focused on animal and cell experiments. Background The decline of physical activity in the elderly due to aging may increase the risk of sarcopenia. Currently, there is a lack of evidence from large natural populations on the relationship between PA and sarcopenia. Objective To explore the relationship between PA and sarcopenia in the elderly aged 60 years and above in 10 provinces (autonomous regions) of China. Methods Data were retrieved from the 2022—2023 round of the China Development and Nutrition Health Impact Cohort. Personal basic information and PA data were collected by questionnaire survey. Skeletal muscle mass was measured by bio-electrical impedance analysis, muscle strength was measured using a grip dynamometer, and physical performance was reflected by 6-meter walk speed. The Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS) 2019 criteria were used to diagnose sarcopenia. Light physical activity (LPA) duration, moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) duration, and total physical activity volume were calculated. A total of 3326 residents aged ≥60 years with complete data were selected as the survey participants. Multiple logistic regression models and restricted cubic splines (RCS) were used to assess the association between PA duration/volume and sarcopenia. Results In 10 provinces (autonomous regions) of China, the prevalence of sarcopenia in the elderly aged 60 years and above was 5.5% (95%CI: 4.7%, 6.2%). The logistic regression analysis showed that compared with the elderly reporting 0-7.0 h·week⁻¹ in LPA duration, the risk of sarcopenia in the elderly with LPA duration of >14.0-21.0 h·week⁻¹ was reduced by 51% (OR=0.49, 95%CI: 0.26, 0.96). Compared with the elderly with total physical activity ≥15.0 metabolic equivalent of task (MET)-h·week⁻¹, those with <7.5 MET-h·week⁻¹ had a 2.24-fold increased risk of sarcopenia (OR=2.24, 95%CI: 1.17, 4.29). The RCS results found that LPA duration and total physical activity volume each showed a nonlinear dose-response relationship with the risk of sarcopenia (P_overall<0.05, P_non-linear<0.05). Compared with the elderly with an LPA duration of 0 h· week⁻¹, the risk of sarcopenia in the elderly with an LPA duration of 12.6 h· week⁻¹ was the lowest (OR=0.42, 95%CI: 0.21, 0.83). Compared with the elderly with a total physical activity volume of 15.0 MET-h· week⁻¹, the elderly with a total physical activity volume of 46.0 MET-h· week⁻¹ had the lowest risk of sarcopenia (OR=0.57, 95%CI: 0.38, 0.84). There was no statistically significant association between weekly MVPA duration and the risk of sarcopenia (P>0.05). Conclusion Increasing weekly LPA duration and total physical activity volume would help to reduce the risk of sarcopenia.

Japanese encephalitis virus(JEV)belongs to the genus Flavivirus and the family Flavi-viridae,and is classified as a single-stranded,positive-sense RNA virus.The disease known as Japa-nese encephalitis(JE),which results from JEV infection,is a viral zoonosis that is prevalent worldwide and poses a significant public health concern.JEV infection activates a variety of signa-ling pathways,leading to a series of changes that are crucial to the virus's pathogenesis.Among these pathways,Toll-like receptors(TLRs)are particularly significant,and their diverse range and complex signal transduction mechanisms present substantial challenges for the prevention and con-trol of JEV.Currently,there is no specific treatment for JEV.Although some vaccines have been developed to prevent JE,eradicating JEV remains difficult due to its zoonotic transmission cycle and the limited efficacy of the available vaccines.This article reviews the alterations in various TLR signaling pathways induced by JEV infection in the host,aiming to provide insights into the patho-genic mechanisms of JEV and to identify potential new antiviral targets.

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV)is the pathogen of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome(PRRS),and its infection mainly causes abortion,stillbirth in sows and piglet respiratory infections,which are widely prevalent in the world and seriously jeopardize the development of the world's animal husbandry industry.PRRSV infection of the host is capable of inducing significant immunosuppression,and in recent years,the study of the mecha-nism of PRRSV immunosuppression has become a hot topic,with studies showing that numerous PRRSV proteins are involved in the regulation of host innate immunity and elucidating the mecha-nism by which PRRSV proteins modulate host innate immunity.In this paper,we reviewed the progress of research on the interaction mechanism between PRRSV proteins and host innate im-munity to provide a theoretical basis for a comprehensive understanding of the pathogenesis of PRRSV and the prevention and control of PRRS.

Objective:To identify the trajectories of dietary choline intake in middle-aged and older population, and to analyze its longitudinal association with cognitive function.Methods:Subjects aged 55 to 79 years with at least two rounds of completed population economics, lifestyle, disease history, cognitive function, dietary assessments and physical measurements in 1997-2018 and those with at least three rounds of dietary measures in 1991-2015 were selected from the China Health and Nutrition Survey. Dietary survey was conducted using three consecutive 24-hour dietary recalls combined with a weighing inventory at the household level. Cognitive assessment was performed using part of the Telephone Interview for Cognitive Status Scale. Group-based univariate trajectory modeling was used to identify trajectory of choline intake, and three-level linear mixed-effects models or three-level logistic mixed-effects models was employed to analyze the relationship between trajectory groups and cognitive function. Subgroup analyses were conducted by gender and age at baseline.Results:Four trajectories of dietary choline intake were identified in the whole population, named as low-intake-stable group (61.0%), medium-intake-stable group (23.9%), medium-intake-slowly-declined group (11.2%), and high-intake-stable group (3.9%). Three trajectories were identified for each subgroup. Low-intake-stable group accounted for more than 60% in total population as well as each subgroup, especially in women and 55-59 years group. After adjusting for covariates, global cognitive scores were 0.54 (95% CI: 0.26-0.82), 0.77 (95% CI: 0.36-1.18), and 0.85 (95% CI: 0.21-1.48) points higher in medium-intake-stable, medium-intake- slowly-declined and high-intake-stable groups in the whole population, respectively, compared with the low-intake-stable group. The likelihoods of cognitive decline were 18.4% ( OR=0.816,95% CI: 0.709-0.939), 17.6% ( OR=0.824, 95% CI: 0.680-0.998), 24.4% ( OR=0.756, 95% CI: 0.589-0.970) and 22.4% ( OR=0.776,95% CI: 0.623-0.968) lower in medium-intake-stable group of dietary choline in the whole population, medium-intake-stable group in males, medium-intake-slightly-increased group in females and medium-intake-slowly-increased group in 55-59 years at baseline than in low-intake-stable group, respectively. Conclusions:Dietary choline intake is generally lower in the Chinese population aged 55-79 years. Long-term lower choline intake has a negative impact on cognitive function in middle-aged and older adults and may increase the risk of cognitive decline. The increment in the consumption of choline-enriched foods should be recommended.

Porcine deltacoronavirus(PDCoV)is the main pathogen of porcine deltacoronavirus dis-ease.After infection,pigsmanifest a series of main symptoms,such as persistent vomiting,watery diarrhea and severe dehydration.Pigs at almost all growth stages are likely to be infected with the virus,especially suckling piglets are much sensitive to the virus.Once PDCoV infects the host,it u-sually causes significant immunosuppression.In recent years,studies on the immunosuppressive mechanism of PDCoV have gradually attracted widespread attention.The results showed that mul-tiple proteins of PDCoV were involved in the regulation of host innate immunity,revealing the mechanism of these proteins in regulating host innate immunity.In this paper,the interaction mechanism between PDCoV protein and host innate immunity were rsummarized,which will pro-vide a theoretical basis for further understanding the pathogenesis of PDCoV and effective preven-tion and control of porcine delta coronavirus disease.

Objective To investigate the intervention mechanism of Bushen Zhupai Decoction on polycystic ovary syndrome rats with insulin resistance based on IL-6/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway Methods A rat model of polycystic ovary syndrome with insulin resistance was established by feeding high-fat diet combined with oral administration of letrozole,and the blank group was fed with ordinary diet.The modeled rats were randomly divided into model group,metformin group and Bushen Zhupai Decoction low-,medium-and high-dosage groups.The corresponding intervention were given for 28 days.Fasting blood glucose(FBG)content was detected,and insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR)was calculated.ELISA was used to detect serum fasting insulin(FINS),testosterone(T),estradiol(E2),luteinizing hormone(LH)and follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)contents.HE staining was used to observe the morphology of ovarian tissue.Immunohistochemistry was used to detected the expressions of interleukin(IL)-6,p-PI3K,p-AKT and GLUT4 in ovarian tissue.Western blot was used to detect the protein expressions of IL-6,PI3K,p-PI3K,AKT,p-AKT and GLUT4 in ovarian tissue,while RT-PCR was used to detect the mRNA expressions of IL-6,PI3K,AKT and GLUT4.Results Compared with the blank group,the body mass,FBG,FINS and serum T and LH contents of the model group rats significantly increased(P<0.01),while the serum E2 and FSH contents significantly decreased(P<0.01);ovarian tissue showed polycystic changes,with reduced layers and loose arrangement of granulosa cells,the expression of IL-6 protein and mRNA in ovarian tissue significantly increased(P<0.01),the expressions of p-PI3K,p-AKT and GLUT4 proteins significantly decreased(P<0.01),and the expressions of PI3K,AKT and GLUT4 mRNA significantly decreased(P<0.01).Compared with the model group,the body mass of rats in each administration group decreased,and the contents of FBG,FINS and serum T and LH decreased(P<0.01,P<0.05),while the contents of E2 and FSH increased;polycystic changes in ovarian tissue were reduced,mature follicles increased,and granulosa cells were tightly arranged,the expression of IL-6 protein and mRNA in ovarian tissue decreased,the expressions of p-PI3K,p-AKT,GLUT4 protein and PI3K,AKT,GLUT4 mRNA increased.Bushen Zhupai Decoction high-dosage group showed statistical significance(P<0.01).Conclusion Bushen Zhupai Decoction can improve reproductive and metabolic disorders in polycystic ovary syndrome with insulin resistance rats,and its mechanism may be related to inhibiting IL-6 expression,activating the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway,and alleviating insulin resistance.

Objective:To investigate the pathogen distribution, temporal trends in the rates of antimicrobial resistance, and susceptibility of bloodstream isolates and comparatively explore the epidemiological characteristics of bloodstream infections in hematology departments across 56 healthcare facilities in Guangdong Province from 2020 to 2024.Methods:A multicenter analysis was conducted to evaluate the constituent ratio of different pathogens isolated from clinical isolate data from bloodstream specimens in hematology, respiratory, and intensive care unit (ICU) departments across 56 healthcare facilities in Guangdong Province (2020-2024), and antimicrobial resistance trends in pathogens with high-detection rate over 5 years were assessed. Carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative organisms (CRO) were randomly sampled for carbapenemase gene detection and in vitro antimicrobial susceptibility tests with novel antimicrobial agents.Results:From 2020 to 2024, a total of 8 968, 6 440, and 25 511 bloodstream isolates were identified in the hematology, respiratory, and ICU departments, respectively, across 56 participating facilities in Guangdong Province, with significant differences in the pathogen constituent ratio among departments ( P<0.001). Notably, the hematology department demonstrated a predominance of Escherichia coli (24.1%), Klebsiella pneumoniae (17.5%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (11.7%), coagulase-negative Staphylococci (15.2%), and Staphylococcus aureus (5.1%). In the resistance analysis, the rates of meropenem resistance of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumonia increased from 6.7% and 5.8% (2020) to 14.0% and 15.8% (2024), respectively. Conversely, Pseudomonas aeruginosa exhibited a declining trend in the rate of meropenem resistance (6.2% to 1.9%) and imipenem (10.2% to 6.1%) during the same period. Acinetobacter baumannii demonstrated a biphasic resistance pattern to common antimicrobial agents, characterized by an initial decline, followed by a rebound. In this study, the susceptibility rates to conventional antimicrobial agents were significantly higher in Staphylococcus aureus versus coagulase-negative Staphylococci, with no glycopeptide- or linezolid-resistant strains detected. Notably, the prevalence of vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium increased from 0 in 2020 to 23.1% in 2024. CRO carbapenemase phenotypes through active surveillance revealed that 80% Escherichia coli isolates were carrying blaNDM, 90% Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates were carrying blaKPC, 10% Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates were carrying blaVIM, and 100% Acinetobacter baumannii were carrying blaOXA-23. The results of the antimicrobial susceptibility test in CRO revealed that carbapenem-resistant Escherichia coli (CRECO) demonstrated a 0 resistance rate to tigecycline, polymyxin B, and aztreonam/avibactam, whereas carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae exhibited a 0 resistance rate to aztreonam/avibactam, ceftazidime/avibactam, and imipenem/relebactam. Carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa exhibited a 95.0% susceptibility rate to amikacin and polymyxin B, with a 45.0% resistance rate to ceftazidime/avibactam. In contrast, carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii demonstrated complete susceptibility (100.0%) to sulbactam/durlobactam (MIC90=2 μg/ml), whereas eravacycline showed MIC50 and MIC90 values of 1 and 2 μg/ml, respectively. Conclusion:The pathogen constituent ratio of bloodstream isolates differed significantly among hematology, respiratory, and ICU departments. Notably, although CRO exhibited an escalating prevalence, it sustained high susceptibility to novel antimicrobial agents.
