Background While A few studies have suggested associations between ambient temperature and cardiac autonomic function, the relationship between hourly temperature variations and heart rate variability (HRV) remains unclear. Objective To examine the acute effects and lag patterns of short-term ambient temperature exposure on HRV at an hourly temporal resolution during cold and warm seasons, and to further characterize the exposure-response relationships. Methods We conducted a longitudinal panel study involving 1047 eligible participants who ordered repeated 24 h ambulatory electrocardiogram monitoring at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China, between March 2020 and March 2022. Twelve HRV parameters were extracted, including standard deviation of all NN intervals (SDNN), standard deviation of the 5 min averages of NN intervals (SDANN), standard deviation of NN intervals index (SDNNIDX), root mean square of successive differences of adjacent NN intervals (rMSSD), triangle index (TI), percent of NN50 in the total number of NN intervals (pNN50), total power (TP), ultralow frequency (ULF), very low frequency (VLF), low frequency (LF), high frequency (HF), and ratio of low frequency to high frequency (LF/HF). Hourly meteorological data (mean temperature and relative humidity) were obtained from the nearest monitoring stations to participants' residences. Linear mixed effects models (LME) and generalized additive mixed effects models (GAMM) were employed to assess temperature-HRV associations and lag patterns during cold (from October to March next year) and warm (from April to September) seasons, with stratification by sex and age. Results A total of 1047 Urumqi residents who had repeated 24 h ambulatory electrocardiograms were included in this study. In both cold and warm seasons, the exposure-response relationship between ambient temperature and HRV showed an approximately linear negative correlation with no threshold effect; HRV parameters decreased as ambient temperature increased. The correlation between ambient temperature and HRV usually began at a lag of 6 h and disappeared around 24 h lag. The cold season induced a stronger effect on HRV decline, and for every 1 °C increase in ambient temperature during the cold season from lag 0 to 6 h, SDNN decreased by 0.72%, SDNNIDX decreased by 1.46%, TI decreased by 0.07%, SDANN decreased by 1.23%, rMSSD decreased by 1.00%, pNN50 decreased by 2.74%, TP decreased by 3.30%, ULF decreased by 3.74%, VLF decreased by 3.76%, LF decreased by 2.75%, HF decreased by 2.49%, and LF/HF decreased by 0.74%; for every 1 °C increase in ambient temperature during the warm season, SDNN decreased by 0.56%, SDNNIDX decreased by 1.08%, TI decreased by 0.29%, SDANN decreased by 0.56%, rMSSD decreased by 0.68%, pNN50 decreased by 2.11%, TP decreased by 2.64%, ULF decreased by 3.14%, VLF decreased by 2.74%, LF decreased by 1.85%, HF decreased by 1.68%, and LF/HF decreased by 0.47%. Conclusion Elevated ambient temperatures in Urumqi are significantly associated with decreased HRV in the residents, affecting cardiac autonomic function.

Objective To observe the risk factors of ischemic mitral regurgitation(IMR)in ischemic cardiomyopathy.Methods Totally 143 patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy were retrospectively enrolled and divided into IMR+group(n=68)or IMR-group(n=75)based on IMR,while 50 healthy volunteers were taken as controls(control group).The general information,conventional ultrasonic parameters of left ventricle,three-dimensional speckle tracking imaging(3D-STI)parameters as well as mitral valve structural and functional parameters were compared among groups,and the risk factors of IMR were screened with logistic regression analysis.Results Significant differences of left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LVEDV),left ventricular end-systolic volume(LVESV),left ventricular global longitudinal strain(LVGLS),the peak systolic twist(Twist),tenting volume(VTent)and total leaflet area(TLA)/annulus area(AA)were found between IMR+group and IMR-group(all P＜0.05).Decreased LVGLS,decreased Twist and increased VTent were all independent risk factors of IMR in ischemic cardiomyopathy(all P＜0.05).Conclusion Decreased LVGLS,decreased Twist and increased VTent were independent risk factors of IMR in ischemic cardiomyopathy.

Methotrexate (MTX) is a widely used immunosuppressive drug. Large-dose of MTX is used for the treatment of cancer while low-dose is used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). This study aimed to explore the effect of MTX on the urinary proteome of rats. MTX was given to rats orally to construct an MTX intragastric administration rat model. The urine of the rats were collected within 10 hours after giving MTX, and the urine proteins of the rats were analyzed by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). A total of 31 differential proteins were identified, of which 7 proteins were related to the effect MTX and the symptom of RA. The biological processes of some rats reflected the effect of MTX on the body's glutathione metabolism and the JAK/STAT signaling pathway, which indicated that urine proteins have the ability to reflect the effects of MTX on the body of rats. The spectrum of the differential proteins of each single rat showed that different individuals respond to the drug quite differently.

Objective To evaluate the activities of daily living (ADL) and investigate its influential factor in primary angle-closure glaucoma patients.Methods One hundred primary angle-closure glaucoma patients (acute phase) diagnosed definitely from April to October 2014 were collected.The status of sex,gender,education,income were recorded.Barthel Index (BI),Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and Glaucoma Quality of Life-15 (GQL-15) were respectively used to assess the ADL,anxiety and depression symptoms and visual quality of life in primary angle-closure glaucoma patients.At the same time the factors affecting ADL of primary angle-closure glaucoma were analyzed.Results There were no dysfunction in 12 patients,46 patients with mild dysfunction,32 patients with moderate dysfunction and 10％ (10/100) patients with severe dysfunction.BI was negatively correlated with anxiety and depression score,GQL-15 results and disease course (r=-0.819-0.395,P ＜ 0.01),and positively correlated with average monthly income (r=0.453,P ＜ 0.01).There were no correlation with gender,sex and education (r=-0.159-0.172,P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions ADL of primary angle-closure glaucoma patients has varying degrees of dysfunction,and disease course,average monthly income,anxiety,depression and visual quality of life are closely related with it.

The present experiments were designed to investigate the effects of atriopeptin I on different vascular smooth muscles.Isometric tension was recorded from spiral strips of human umbilical arteries, gastro-epiploica dextral arteries, rat and rabbit aorta. Atriopeptin H showed a potent inhibitor on the contraction induced by noradrenaline ( 3tmol/l), Serotonin ( lnmol/1), hista-mine ( 10M-mol/l ) and phenylephrine ( l(imol/l)in the strips of rat and rabbit aorta, but not on the contraction induced by the above-mentioned drugs and KC1 (80mmol/l), prostaglandine F2a ( 10umol /I) in umbilical and gastroepiploica dextral arteries of human beings. Sodium nitroprussids showed also a potent antagonist on the contraction induced by noradrenaline ( 3 M-mol/1) serotonin ( 1imol/l), histamine (10imol/1) and prostaglandine F2a (10nmol/l) in the strips of umbilical arteries.lt produced concentration-dependent inhibition of the contraction induced by noradrenaline.It could remarkably decrease the resting tension of the strips.The present results suggest that atriopeptin I exhibits a similar vasodilator profile in rat and rabbit aorta as that found for sodium nitroprusside in the human umbilical arteries.The ineffectiveness of atriopeptin I on human umbilicalj and gas-troepiploica dextral arteries is in marked contrast to the effectiveness of sodium nitroprusside in the human umbilical arteries, indicating that the action of atriopeptin f possesses species difference.

Berberine could reverse the phenylephrine-induced contraction of aortic strips of rabbits, but not those induced by histamine, serotonin and high-K. It showed no effect on the resting tension of the strips.Prazosin l ?M completely abolished the phenylephrine-induced contraction of the strips, but berberine 100 ?M could block 94 ? 9%.The IC50 of berberine and prazosin for phenylephrine-induced c-ontraction is 30 ?M and 0.2 ?M. The results suggest that the action of berberine is not similar to sodium nitroprusside, but is similar to prazosin, a selective ?1 adrenoceptor blocker, although its potency is less than prazosin.

The effect of endothelin (ET-1) on the function of the isolated perfused working guinea pig has been examined. ET- 1 wasshowed to exert a transient positive inotropic effect on the isolated heart, followed by a marked inhibition of cardiac function. Low dose of ET- 1(30,90 pmol?L-1) produced reversible inhibition. The effect of high dose of ET- 1 was irreversible, accompanied with increasing LDH significantly, indomethacin markedly augmented the vasoconstrictor and cardiac ischemia effects of ET-1. Our results suggest that the apparent inhibition of cardiac function on the isolatedperfused guinea pig heart after administration of ET-1 may be due to the effect of the myocardial ischaemia caused by progressive development of coronary vasoconstriction. In our experimental model, PGI2 has partially antagonizing effect on the vasoconstrictor action of ET-1.
