Climate change is a significant environmental concern in the 21st century. It can directly and indirectly affect public health, making it a major public health problem. This review focused on the relationship between meteorological factors and health-related behaviors such as physical activity, sleep, dietary behavior, and social contact behavior. The results indicated that meteorological factors such as temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, atmospheric pressure, and rainfall are associated with the four health behaviors. Physical activity levels are negatively associated with temperature, relative humidity, and rainfall. Sleep quality tends to decrease under extreme temperatures and extreme weather events. Dietary behavior is influenced by high and low temperatures, low pressure, and daylight duration, which in turn affects appetite and food intake. Social contact frequency decreases in response to extreme temperatures, increased rainfall, and extreme weather events. However, there are differences in the strength and direction of the associations between meteorological factors and health-related behaviors in various studies. Research on the combined effects of multiple meteorological factors exposure on health-related behaviors is rare, and the mechanisms underlying the associations are unclear. Therefore, there is a need for more multi-center, large-scale studies to explore the biological and behavioral mechanisms behind these associations, which will help clarify the complex effects of meteorological factors on human health behaviors and provide scientific evidence for policy-making, thereby mitigating the negative impact of climate change on public health.

Falls are one of the most common injuries, with a high prevalence and risk of disability, which poses the greatest threat to the health of the elderly. Falls are influenced by a variety of factors, including environmental factors such as slippery pavements, poor meteorological conditions, and inadequate lighting. The Sixth Assessment Report of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) stated that climate change has become more frequent and stronger in recent years, which may threat people's health and lives. This review summarized the progress of epidemiological studies on the association between meteorological factors (e.g. temperature, precipitation, frost, and snowfall) and falls, and found that most of the studies focused on the association between temperature and falls, and the results of different studies varied greatly. While the studies on the association between other meteorological factors and falls were relatively few. Moreover, the mechanisms behind the associations were unclear. Therefore, we point out that it is necessary to further conduct large-sample and multi-centre studies to evaluate the effects of exposure to multiple meteorological factors, and further to explore the mechanisms of the associations, which may provide scientific evidence for better response to climate change.

Objective:To explore the application effect of mid-facial autologous fat grafting with an intraoral approach in facial contour remodeling. Methods:A retrospective study was performed for 89 female patients aged (35±10) years who underwent mid-facial autologous fat grafting in the Department of Plastic Surgery, Easysculpt Medical Aesthetic Clinic from October 2019 to October 2022. The filling area was designed according to the patient's facial characteristics. According to the patient's wishes and the actual thickness of subcutaneous fat, the abdomen or thigh were selected as the fat collection area. Nerve block anesthesia with 0.5% lidocaine was performed at the corresponding site. The edge of the hairline was chosen to be the insertion point when filling the frontal, temporal, eyebrow arch, and zygomatic arch depression; An intraoral approach was used when filling the middle and lower parts of the face. The surgical effect and complications were recorded at 3 months after the operation, and the patient satisfaction was evaluated. Results:All the patients completed the operation smoothly. A total of 82 patients received a single injection, 5 patients received two times and 2 patients received three times. Fourteen patients had mild facial swelling after surgery, which subsided spontaneously in 1-2 weeks. None of the 89 patients had complications such as embolism, infection, hematoma, induration, cyst, fat liquefaction, pigmentation, dysesthesia or depression. At the 3-month follow-up, 67 patients were very satisfied with the postoperative results, 14 patients were satisfied, 6 patients were generally satisfied, and 2 patients were not satisfied. The overall satisfaction rate was 91.0% (81/89).Conclusion:The intraoral approach to middle face fat transplantation is safe and effective in facial contour remodeling.

Objective To investigate the value of ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in the differential diagnosis of mass-type autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Methods A retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical data, ultrasound findings, and CEUS findings of 11 patients with mass-type AIP who were diagnosed in Tangshan Workers' Hospital from January 2015 to December 2020, and their characteristic manifestations were analyzed and compared with the data of 23 patients with PDCA. The chi-square test was used for comparison of categorical data between two groups. Results For the 11 patients with mass-type AIP, CEUS had a diagnostic accuracy of 63.64%, and all of these patients had hypoechoic single lesions; the patients with clear boundaries, regular morphology, pancreatic duct dilatation or cutoff, and blood flow signal accounted for 54.55%, 63.64%, 18.18%, and 36.36%, respectively, while in the PDCA group, such patients accounted for 30.43%, 34.78%, 78.26%, and 21.74%, respectively, and there was a significant difference in the presence or absence of pancreatic duct dilatation or cutoff between the two groups( χ 2 =11.089, P < 0.05), with no significant differences in the other indices (all P > 0.05). For the 11 patients with mass-type AIP, CEUS showed that 7 patients (63.64%) had hyperenhancement and 4 (36.36%) had iso-enhancement in the arterial phase, and 5 patients (45.45%) had hyperenhancement in the arterial phase and 6 (54.55%) had iso-enhancement in the venous phase; for the 23 patients with PDCA, 22 (95.65%) had hypoenhancement of lesions in both arterial and venous phases, and there were significant differences in the enhancement pattern in arterial and venous phases between the two groups ( χ 2 =30.345 and 30.084, both P < 0.05). Conclusion The enhancement pattern of CEUS and the presence or absence of pancreatic duct dilatation or cutoff have a relatively high value in the differential diagnosis of mass-type AIP and PDCA.

Objective:To study the clinical value of blood neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) in the early diagnosis and prognostic evaluation of late-onset sepsis in very/extremely low birth weight infants (VLBWI/ELBWI).Method:From January 2017 to December 2019, VLBWI/ELBWI older than 3 days admitted to NICU of our hospital were prospectively enrolled in the study. The infants were assigned into suspected-sepsis group and non-infection (control) group according to their clinical symptoms and laboratory indicators. In the suspected-sepsis group, complete blood count, C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT) and blood culture were examined on the 1st day of disease onset and blood NGAL was examined on the 1st day of disease onset, 3rd day of treatment and 2nd week of treatment. In the control group, blood NGAL was examined at the time of enrollment. The suspected-sepsis group was later assigned into sepsis group and non-sepsis infection group and the sepsis group was further assigned into mild sepsis group and severe sepsis group according to the severity of the disease. Blood NGAL levels between the sepsis group and the non-sepsis infection group on the 1st day of onset and the control group were compared. The dynamic changes of NGAL in the sepsis group and the non-sepsis infection group at different time points were compared and analyzed. ROC curve of NGAL level on the first day of onset predicting sepsis was drawn.Result:(1) On the 1st day of disease, the sepsis group (n=106) had higher level of NGAL compared with non-sepsis infection group (n=121) and the control group (n=84). Non-sepsis infection group had significantly higher level of NGAL compared with the control group ( P<0.05). (2) A gradual decrease of NGAL was found in both sepsis and non-sepsis infection group. Significantly higher level of NGAL in sepsis group was found comparing with non-sepsis infection group at different time points ( P<0.05). (3) For blood culture positive and negative patients in the sepsis group, no statistically significant differences existed in NGAL,CRP, PCT levels on the 1st day of disease onset ( P>0.05).(4) The NGAL level in the severe sepsis group was significantly higher than the mild sepsis group on the 1st day of disease onset ( P<0.05). However,CRP and PCT showed no differences between the two groups. (5) On the 1st day of disease onset, to establish the diagnosis of sepsis, the area under the ROC curve of NGAL level was 0.852. The sensitivity and specificity of cut-off value 205.25 ng/ml were 84.0% and 66.9%, respectively. Conclusion:The serum NGAL level is elevated in VLBWI/ELBWI with late-onset sepsis. The more severe the sepsis, the more elevated the NGAL level. NGAL has certain predictive value for late onset sepsis in VLBWI/ELBWI.
