BACKGROUND:Degenerative scoliosis is defined as a condition that occurs in adulthood with a coronal cobb angle of the spine>10° accompanied by sagittal deformity and rotational subluxation,which often produces symptoms of spinal cord and nerve compression,such as lumbar pain,lower limb pain,numbness,weakness,and neurogenic claudication.The finite element method is a mechanical analysis technique for computer modelling,which can be used for spinal mechanics research by building digital models that can realistically restore the human spine model and design modifications. OBJECTIVE:To review the application of finite element method in the etiology and treatment of degenerative scoliosis. METHODS:The literature databases CNKI,PubMed,and Web of Science were searched for articles on the application of finite element method in degenerative scoliosis published before October 2023.Search terms were"finite element analysis,biomechanics,stress analysis,degenerative scoliosis,adult spinal deformity"in Chinese and English.Fifty-four papers were finally included. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)The biomechanical findings from the degenerative scoliosis model constructed using the finite element method were identical to those from the in vivo experimental studies,which proves that the finite element method has a high practical value in degenerative scoliosis.(2)The study of the etiology and treatment of degenerative scoliosis by the finite element method is conducive to the prevention of the occurrence of the scoliosis,slowing down the progress of the scoliosis,the development of a more appropriate treatment plan,the reduction of complications,and the promotion of the patients'surgical operation.(3)The finite element method has gradually evolved from a single bony structure to the inclusion of soft tissues such as muscle ligaments,and the small sample content is increasingly unable to meet the research needs.(4)The finite element method has much room for exploration in degenerative scoliosis.

Objective:The prevalence of seasonal allergic rhinitis （AR） and its combined diseases have been increasing recently. The purpose was to investigate the clinical characteristics and treatment of seasonal AR in northern China. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted in AR patients. The Visual analogue scale （VAS）, combined diseases, clinical features, allergic pollen and treatments were analyzed. Results:Of the 789 AR subjects included, 54.1% had a family history of atopic disease. The mian course wa s（7.4±5.9） years. 95.4% of the subjects had moderate to severe AR. The prevalence rates of allergic conjunctivitis （AC）, allergic asthma （AA）, and pollen food allergy syndrome （PFAS） were 71.1%, 19.0%, and 39.5% respectively. Among the patients, 13.8% presented with only AR, while 39.3% had an AR combined with other disease, and 1.9% exhibited comorbidity involving five different diseases. VAS was positively correlated with the number of comorbidities（r=0.186, P<0.001）. The mugwort exhibited the highest rate of pollen sensitization （48.9%）, closely followed by cypress （48.3%）. The prevalence of mono-sensitization to pollen was 20.2%, while the positive rates for double-sensitized pollens and more than three sensitized pollens were 17.4% and 62.4%, respectively. Among the study participants, 19.9% did not receive any form of treatment, while 66.2% were administered oral medication and 27.5% underwent nasal steroid spray therapy. The proportion of individuals receiving anti-IgE monoclonal antibodies was 4.3%, and allergen immunotherapy （AIT） treatment was undergone by 11.8%. Meanwhile, 41.2% of patients undergoing anti-IgE monoclonal antibody treatment also received AIT. The distribution of therapy types among patients was as follows: 44.7% received a single type, 22.2% received two types, and 9.8% received three types of therapy. Additionally, there was a subset of patients（1%） who were undergoing five distinct forms of treatment. The VAS score exhibited a significant negative correlation with no treatment（r=-0.199, P<0.001）, while it showed a positive association with the number of treatment modalities（r=0.245, P<0.001）. Conclusion:Mugwort and cypress are the predominant allergenic pollens responsible for seasonal AR in northern China. The majority of cases present with moderate to severe AR, often accompanied by various comorbidities, necessitating consideration of diverse treatment modalities. However, the current rate of adoption for AIT remains relatively insufficient.

Objective To investigate the application effect of postural gravity traction combined with floss and titanium clip pulley external traction in endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)for early intestinal lesions.Methods A total of 100 patients with early colorectal lesions admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangsu University from January 2022 to September 2024 were selected as the research subjects and divided in-to the observation group and the control group,with 50 cases in each group.The control group underwent con-ventional intestinal ESD treatment,while the observation group used positional gravity traction combined with dental floss and titanium clips to form pulley external traction in ESD treatment.Clinical data including opera-tion time,number of submucosal injections,intraoperative blood loss,lesion resection effect,complication inci-dence,and hospital stay were compared between the two groups.Results The total operation time in the ob-servation group was shorter than that in the control group,and the total number of submucosal injections was less than that in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).There were no signifi-cant differences in intraoperative blood loss,complete resection rate,complication incidence,en bloc resection rate,and hospital stay between the two groups(P>0.05).For lesions≤1 cm or>5 cm in size,there were no significant differences in operation time,complete resection rate and en bloc resection rate between the two groups(P>0.05).For lesions>1-3 cm or>3-5 cm in size and laterally spreading lesions,significant differences were observed in operation time,number of submucosal injections,complete resection rate,and en bloc resection rate between the two groups(P<0.05).For pedunculated polyps,there were no significant differences in the number of submucosal injections,complete resection rate and en bloc resection rate between the two groups(P>0.05),but the operation time differed significantly(P<0.05).Conclusion Postural gravity traction combined with dental floss and titanium clip to form pulley external traction is simple to oper-ate in ESD for early intestinal lesions.It can maintain a clear field of view,shorten operation time,reduce the incidence of complications,and is safe and effective.

Objective To target at the NKG2A-HLA-E inhibitory axis,a pluripotent stem cell(iPSC)-derived geneti-cally engineered natural killer cells(NK cells)with NKG2A knockout(NKG2A KO-iNK)were prepared and then their tumor-killing efficacy was evaluated in vitro.Methods NKG2A was knocked out in iPSCs using gene-editing technology.These cells were then differentiated into NKG2A KO-iNK cells.Surface markers at each differentiation stage were analyzed by flow cytometry.Western blot confirmed NKG2A knockout,and flow cytometry assessed expres-sion of activating receptors(NKG2D)and natural cytotoxicity receptors(NKp30,NKp44,NKp46)in NKG2A KO-iNK cells.Cytotoxic activity against tumor cell lines with varying human leukocyte antigen E(HLA-E)expression level was evaluated via lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)release assay.Results Co-transfection of iPSCs with Cas9 pro-tein and three small-guide RNAs(sgRNAs)targeting at exons 1 and 2 of the KLRC1 gene(encoding NKG2A)suc-cessfully generated monoclonal NKG2A-knockout iPSCs(NKG2A KO-iPSCs)with a single T-base insertion in exon 1.During iPSC differentiation into NK cells,CD34 expression reached 30％-50％at the embryoid body(EB)stage(day 8),while CD56 and CD 16 expression exceeded 80％by day 28.Western blot confirmed complete NKG2A knockout in NKG2A KO-iNK cells.Flow cytometry revealed comparable expression level of activating receptor NKG2D and cytotox-icity receptors(NKp30,NKp44,NKp46)between NKG2A KO-iNK and wild-type iNK(WT-iNK)cells.The LDH assay results indicated that the cytotoxic activity of NKG2A KO-iNK cells against the HLA-E highly-expressed B-cell precursor leukemia cell line Nalm6 cells was significantly higher than that of WT-iNK cells,while there was no signif-icant difference between them and human myeloma cell line H929 cells with low HLA-E expression and human hepa-tocellular carcinoma cell line HepG2 cells with almost no HLA-E expression.Interferon-γ(IFN-γ)pretreatment up regulated HLA-E expression in Nalm6 cells,further amplifying NKG2A KO-iNK-mediated cytotoxicity.Conclusions By disrupting the NKG2A-HLA-E inhibitory axis,NKG2A KO-iNK cells exhibit markedly enhanced in vitro cytotoxic-ity against HLA-E-high tumor cells.This result highlights their potential function as a novel adoptive cell therapy strategy for cancers reliant on HLA-E-mediated immune evasion.

Objective: To examine the mediating effects of mindfulness level on resilience and symptoms of anxiety and depression among healthcare workers, so as to provide the reference for developing effective psychological intervention. Methods: The clinical doctors, nurses and public health professionals were selected using the stratified random cluster sampling method from hospitals, disease prevention and control centers, and health departments in five cities in Shandong Province, including Qingdao, Jinan, Rizhao, Jining and Liaocheng in January 2023. Basic information, mindfulness level, resilience and symptoms of anxiety and depression among healthcare workers were collected using general demographic questionnaires, the 5-item Mindful Attention Awareness Scale, 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale and Patient Health Questionnaire, respectively. The Process program was used to analyze the mediating effects of mindfulness level on resilience and symptoms of anxiety and depression. Results: A total of 1 836 healthcare workers were investigated, including 472 males (25.71%) and 1 364 females (74.29%), and the median age was 39 (interquartile range, 12) years. There were 629 clinical doctors (34.26%), 963 nurses (52.45%) and 244 public health professionals (13.29%). The median scores of mindfulness level and resilience were 22 (interquartile range, 7) and 20 (interquartile range, 4) points, respectively. The detection rates of anxiety and depression symptoms were 49.78% and 72.28%, respectively. The mediation analysis showed that mindfulness level exerted a partial mediating effect between resilience and anxiety symptoms (β=-0.510, P<0.001), with a direct effect value of -0.130 and a mediating effect value of -0.046, and the mediating effect accounted for 26.14% of the total effect; mindfulness level also exerted a partial mediating effect between resilience and depression symptoms (β=-0.575, P<0.001), with a direct effect value of -0.120 and a mediating effect value of -0.052, and the mediating effect accounted for 30.23% of the total effect. Conclusion Mindfulness level plays a mediating effect between resilience and symptoms of anxiety and depression among healthcare workers.

【Objective】 To compare the clinical efficacy of high frequency holmium laser in the treatment of 2-3 cm renal calculi by minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy (mPCNL) and retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS). 【Methods】 The clinical data of 105 patients with a solitary 2-3 cm renal calculus treated during Oct. 2020 and Oct. 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into two groups, including 52 cases in the RIRS group and 53 cases in the mPCNL group. The one-stage stone clearance rate, operation time, hemoglobin decline within 24 hours, inflammatory indicators within 24 hours after operation, postoperative complications, hospital stay and hospitalization costs were compared between the two groups. 【Results】 There were no significant differences in the preoperative general data, one-stage stone clearance rate, inflammatory indicators within 24 hours and incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups (P>0.05). The RIRS group had less decrease of hemoglobin than the mPCNL group [(6.35±2.00) g/L vs. (12.25±5.72) g/L, P=0.001], shorter hospital stay [(5.13±0.82) d vs. (7.92±1.59) d, P<0.001], lower hospitalization costs [(15 221.52±796.46) yuan vs. (19 514.51±909.98) yuan, P<0.001], but longer operation time [(58.17±7.67) min vs. (49.60±4.52) min, P<0.001]. 【Conclusion】 Both mPCNL and RIRS are safe and effective in the treatment of 2-3 cm renal calculi with 40-80 Hz holmium laser, and the one-stage stone clearance rate is similar. Although RIRS needed longer operation time than mPCNL, it has the advantages of less surgical trauma, faster postoperative recovery and shorter hospital stay, and is more prospective in the treatment of 2-3 cm renal calculi.

Objective:To investigate the distribution characteristics of body height, body weight and body mass index (BMI) in children aged 3-17 years in China.Methods:Data were obtained from the National Nutrition and Health Systematic Survey in 0-18 years old children in China. The study selected 70 853 children aged 3-17 years from 28 urban and rural survey sites in 14 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in 7 regions of China with multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling. M ( Q1, Q3) was used to describe the region, age and gender specific body height, body weight and BMI in the children aged 3-17 years. Wilcoxon rank sum test was used to compare the body height, body weight, and BMI between boys and girls in same age group. Kruskal-Wallis H rank sum test was used to compare the body height, body weight and BMI among boys in different age groups and among girls in different age groups, as well as among boys in same age group and among girls in same age group from different regions, and DSCF method was used for further pairwise comparisons. Results:In this study, the median body height and body weight were 172.0 cm and 62.9 kg in 17-year-old boys and 160.0 cm and 53.7 kg in 17-year-old girls. The median for children's body height, body weight, and BMI in most age groups were higher in northeastern and northern China than in southern China, and the differences could be observed until age 17 years. The differences in body weight and BMI in children in northeastern and northern China were greater in Q3 than in Q1 compared with southern China. Conclusions:The body height of children aged 3-17 years continues to increase in China. Northeastern and northern China have more children with higher bodyweight, showing an obvious body weight increase trend, to which close attention needs to be paid.

Background and objective Both of lung cancer incidence and mortality rank first among all cancers in China.Previous lung cancer screening trials were mostly selective screening for high-risk groups such as smokers.Non-smoking women accounted for a considerable proportion of lung cancer cases in Asia.This study aimed to evaluate the outcome of community-based mass screening in Guangzhou and identify the high-risk factors for lung cancer.Methods Residents aged 40-74 years in Guangzhou were screened with low-dose computed tomography(LDCT)for lung cancer and the pulmonary nodules were classified and managed according to China National Lung Cancer Screening Guideline with Low-dose Computed Tomography(2018 version).The detection rate of positive nodules was calculated.Before the LDCT examination,residents were required to complete a"lung cancer risk factors questionnaire".The risk factors of the questionnaire were analyzed by least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)penalized Logistic regression analysis.Results A total of 6256 residents were included in this study.1228 positive nodules(19.63％)and 117 lung cancers were confirmed,including 6 cases of Tis,103 cases of stage Ⅰ(accounting for 88.03％of lung cancer).The results of LASSO penalized Logistic regression analysis indicated that age ≥50 yr(OR=1.07,95％CI:1.06-1.07),history of cancer(OR=3.29,95％CI:3.22-3.37),textile industry(OR=1.10,95％CI:1.08-1.13),use coal for cooking in childhood(OR=1.14,95％CI:1.13-1.16)and food al-lergy(OR=1.10,95％CI:1.07-1.13)were risk factors of lung cancer for female in this district.Conclusion This study highlighted that numerous early stages of lung cancer cases were detected by LDCT,which could be applied to screen-ing of lung cancer in women.Besides,age ≥50 yr,personal history of cancer,textile industry and use coal for cooking in childhood are risk factors for women in this district,which suggested that it's high time to raise the awareness of early lung cancer screening in this group.

Malocclusion,identified by the World Health Organization(WHO)as one of three major oral diseases,profoundly impacts the dental-maxillofacial functions,facial esthetics,and long-term development of～260 million children in China.Beyond its physical manifestations,malocclusion also significantly influences the psycho-social well-being of these children.Timely intervention in malocclusion can foster an environment conducive to dental-maxillofacial development and substantially decrease the incidence of malocclusion or reduce the severity and complexity of malocclusion in the permanent dentition,by mitigating the negative impact of abnormal environmental influences on the growth.Early orthodontic treatment encompasses accurate identification and treatment of dental and maxillofacial morphological and functional abnormalities during various stages of dental-maxillofacial development,ranging from fetal stages to the early permanent dentition phase.From an economic and societal standpoint,the urgency for effective early orthodontic treatments for malocclusions in childhood cannot be overstated,underlining its profound practical and social importance.This consensus paper discusses the characteristics and the detrimental effects of malocclusion in children,emphasizing critical need for early treatment.It elaborates on corresponding core principles and fundamental approaches in early orthodontics,proposing comprehensive guidance for preventive and interceptive orthodontic treatment,serving as a reference for clinicians engaged in early orthodontic treatment.
