Objective:
To investigate the impact of disposable plastic food container usage on the executive function among primary school students, so as to provide the evidence for the formulation of relevant health policies.
Methods:
From November 2023 to May 2024, a convenience sampling method was employed to select 1 118 grade 1-3 students from three primary schools in a central district of Chongqing. A self developed questionnaire was used to collect demographic characteristics and data on disposable plastic food container usage. Executive function of primary school students was assessed using the Childhood Executive Functioning Inventory (CHEXI). Multivariate linear regression analysis was conducted to explore the associations between disposable plastic food container usage and heating with executive function among primary school students.
Results:
Median scores for working memory, inhibition and total executive function among primary school students were 32 (26, 39), 33 (28, 38), and 66 (54, 75), respectively. Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that among girls, higher frequencies of eating meals from plastic lunchboxes were associated with higher CHEXI working memory scores ( β =1.29), inhibition scores ( β =1.57), and total executive function scores ( β =2.85) ( P <0.05). Compared to girls who did not use plastic cups or drank bottled water, those who used plastic cups for drinking or drank bottled water had higher scores in working memory ( β =2.63), inhibition ( β =2.10), and total executive function ( β =4.73); compared to girls who did not eat canned food from metal cans, those who ate such food had higher scores in working memory ( β =3.62), inhibition ( β =1.89), and total executive function ( β =5.50) ( P <0.05).Among boys, higher frequencies of eating meals from plastic lunchboxes were associated with higher inhibition scores ( β =1.13) ( P <0.05). Compared to girls who ate with a plastic lunch box and did not heat it when they ate, girls who more frequent heating plastic lunchboxes with food inside had higher working memory scores ( β = 5.39), inhibition scores ( β =4.29), and total executive function scores ( β = 9.68) ( P <0.05).
Conclusions
The use of disposable plastic food containers may adversely affect executive function of primary school students, with a more pronounced effect observed in girls. Strengthened regulation of disposable plastic products and health education are urgently needed.

Chinese Journal of Medical Genetics 2022;39(6):592-596
Objective:To explore the molecular mechanisms of a Chinese pedigree with hereditary factor Ⅺ (FⅪ) deficiency. Methods:All of the 15 exons, flanking sequences of the FⅪ gene and the corresponding mutation sites of family members were analyzed by the Sanger sequencing, followed by the extraction of the peripheral blood genomic DNA. And all the results were verified by the reverse sequencing. The conservation of the mutated sites was analyzed by the ClustalX-2.1-win. Three online bioinformatics software tools, including Mutation Taster, PolyPhen2 and the PROVEAN, were used to assess the possible impact of the mutations. Swiss-pdbviewer software was used to analyze the effects of mutant amino acids on protein structure. Results:Genetic analysis revealed that the proband had compound heterozygous mutations including a nonsense mutation of c. 1107C>A (Tyr369stop) in exon 10 and missense mutation of c. 1562A>G (Tyr521Cys) in exon 13. The same c. 1107C>A (Tyr369stop) was present in her father, the same c. 1562A>G (Tyr521Cys) was present in both her mother and daughter. Conservation analysis indicated that Tyr521 was a highly conserved site during evolution. The prediction of pathogenicity showed that both c. 1107C>A and c. 1562A>G were pathogenic mutations. Protein structure prediction showed that in the wild type FⅪ protein structure, Tyr521 formed a hydrogen bond with the Lys572 and Ile388, respectively. When Tyr521 was replaced by Cys521, the original benzene ring structure disappeared, and side chains of Lys572 added a hydrogen bond with the Cys521, which may chang protein catalytic domain structure. When Tyr369 was mutated to a stop codon, resulting in the truncated protein. Conclusion:The compound heterozygous mutations including the c. 1107C>A heterozygous missense variant in exon 10 and the c. 1562A>G heterozygous nonsense mutation in exon 13 may be responsible for the hereditary factor Ⅺ deficiency in this Chinese pedigree.

Objective:To explore the status of early social function in young and middle-aged patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and analyze its influencing factors, so as to provide a basis for formulating relevant intervention measures. Methods:From July to December 2021, the convenient sampling method was used to select 110 young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease after PCI in the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University as the research objects. The general information questionnaire, Social Disability Screening Schedule (SDSS) , Social Support Rate Scale (SSRS) and General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) were used to investigate the patients. Univariate analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to explore the influencing factors of early social function in young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease after PCI. A total of 110 questionnaires were distributed and 106 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 96.36% (106/110) .Results:The scores of SDSS, SSRS and GSES of 106 young and middle-aged patients after PCI were (3.89±1.63) , (38.80±7.02) and (21.08±6.39) , respectively. The results of univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in SDSS scores among patients with different gender, family per capita monthly income, education level and number of stents ( P<0.01) . The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that gender, family per capita monthly income, education level, number of stents, general self-efficacy and social support were the influencing factors of early social function in young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease after PCI ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The status of early social function in young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease after PCI is not ideal. Medical staff should give more intervention and guidance to patients after PCI who are female, have a lower education level, have a lower per capita monthly family income and have a large number of stents, consider the influence of self-efficacy and social support on the social function of patients and formulate corresponding intervention measures according to the influencing factors, so as to improve the level of social function of patients.

Chinese Pediatric Emergency Medicine 2020;27(11):821-825
Objective:To explore the clinical significance of thrombelastography (TEG) and conventional coagulation tests (CCTs) in the diagnosis of trauma-induced coagulopathy(TIC) and the risk factors for TIC.Methods:Traumatic patients hospitalized in PICU at Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from December 1, 2017 to January 31, 2019 were divided into three groups according to injury severity score(ISS): non-severe group(≤16 points), severe group (17-25 points) and extremely severe group(>25 points). All patients received 2.5 mL of venous blood at admission/after 6 h, 12 h, 24 h, and 48 h injury to detect TEG and CCTs.The prevalence, time of onset, recovery time of coagulation function and risk factors for TIC were summarized. Results:A total of 64 cases were collected, including 18 non-critical cases, 28 critical cases and 18 extremely critical cases.TEG and CCTs were used to diagnose TIC in nine cases(14.1%)and four cases(6.3%), respectively.TIC could be diagnosed by TEG at 6 hours after trauma, and 12 hours for CCTs.TEG was used to diagnose four cases of hypercoagulability.Univariate analysis showed that female, blood transfusion, transfusion, shock, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome, mechanical ventilation, hypothermia, low age, low glasgow coma scale (GCS) and high ISS were all risk factors for TIC.Logistics regression analysis found that children with high-risk factors such as girl, hypothermia, shock and mechanical ventilation were 4.333, 17.889, 10.208, and 4.479 times more likely to develop TIC than those without high-risk factors. For every 1 score increase in the ISS score, the risk of TIC increased by 1.147.As the age increased by 1 year, GCS increased by 1 point, and the risk of TIC decreased by 0.765 and 0.817, respectively, which were protective factors for TIC.Conclusion:TEG and CCTs are consistent in the diagnosis of TIC, but TEG is more sensitive at an earlier stage and can detect hypercoagulability.Female, shock, hypothermia, low age, high ISS, and low GCS are risk factors for TIC.
