BackgroundThe middle school stage represents a crucial period for the development of borderline personality features. Negative parenting styles and emotional regulation strategies are associated with the formation of borderline personality features. However, the moderating role of emotional regulation strategies between negative parenting styles and borderline personality features among middle school students remains unclear. ObjectiveTo explore the moderating influence of emotional regulation strategies in the relationship between negative parenting styles and borderline personality features among middle school students, and to provide references for the intervention of borderline personality features. MethodsIn October 2023, a total of 5 965 middle school students from three middle schools in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were selected by cluster sampling, and assessed by the Borderline Personality Features Scale for Children (BPFS-C), the Egna Minnen Barndoms Uppfostran (EMBU), and the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire-Chinese Revised Version (ERQ-CRV). Pearson correlation analysis was used to test the correlation between the scores of each scale, and the model 1 of the Process macro program was used to conduct the moderating effect test. ResultsA total of 5 572 middle school students (93.41%) completed this study, and 1 388 of them (24.91%) were identified as having high borderline personality features. The BPFS-C score of middle school students was positively correlated with the score of the negative parenting style dimension of EMBU (r=0.367, P<0.01), negatively correlated with the score of the cognitive reappraisal dimension of ERQ-CRV (r=-0.168, P<0.01), and positively correlated with the score of the expression inhibition dimension of ERQ-CRV (r=0.344, P<0.01). Cognitive reappraisal played a negative moderating effect between negative parenting styles and borderline personality features (β=-0.072, 95% CI: -0.104–-0.041, P<0.01), while expressive suppression played a positive moderating effect (β=0.076, 95% CI: 0.055–0.097, P<0.01). ConclusionCognitive reappraisal strategy may help mitigate the negative influence of negative parenting styles on middle school students' borderline personality features, while expressive suppression may exacerbate the harm of negative parenting styles to the borderline personality features of middle school students.

ObjectivePhotoacoustic pump-probe imaging can effectively eliminate the interference of blood background signal in traditional photoacoustic imaging, and realize the imaging of weak phosphorescence molecules and their triplet lifetimes in deep tissues. However, background differential noise in photoacoustic pump-probe imaging often leads to large fitting results of phosphorescent molecule concentration and triplet lifetime. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel triplet lifetime fitting method for photoacoustic pump-probe imaging. By extracting the phase of the triplet differential signal and the background noise, the fitting bias caused by the background noise can be effectively corrected. MethodsThe advantages and feasibility of the proposed algorithm are verified by numerical simulation, phantom and in vivo experiments, respectively. ResultsIn the numerical simulation, under the condition of noise intensity being 10% of the signal amplitude, the new method can optimize the fitting deviation from 48.5% to about 5%, and has a higher exclusion coefficient (0.88>0.79), which greatly improves the fitting accuracy. The high specificity imaging ability of photoacoustic pump imaging for phosphorescent molecules has been demonstrated by phantom experiments. In vivo experiments have verified the feasibility of the new fitting method proposed in this paper for fitting phosphoometric lifetime to monitor oxygen partial pressure content during photodynamic therapy of tumors in nude mice. ConclusionThis work will play an important role in promoting the application of photoacoustic pump-probe imaging in biomedicine.

OBJECTIVE:
To analyze the effect of COVID-19 infection on the mobilization and collection of autologous peripheral blood stem cells in patients with multiple myeloma.
METHODS:
The general baseline data, treatment factors before mobilization collection, collection status, and treatment overview after collection of autologous peripheral blood stem cells at Beijing Chaoyang Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University from January 1, 2020 to July 15, 2023 were analyzed.
RESULTS:
269 patients underwent mobilization and collection of autologous peripheral blood stem cells. Among them, 32 cases with COVID-19 infection history (COVID-19 group) and 237 cases without COVID-19 infection history (non-COVID-19 group). In the COVID-19 group, 17 cases were treated with chemotherapy (etoposide)+G-CSF, and 15 cases were treated with plerixafor +G-CSF. In the non-COVID-19 group, 214 cases were treated with chemotherapy +G-CSF, 17 cases were treated with plerixafor +G-CSF, and 6 cases were treated with chemotherapy + plerixafor +G-CSF. The number of CD34+ cells, collection success rate, and excellence rate in the COVID-19 group and the non-COVID-19 group were [5.52 (0.94-26.87) vs 4.80 (0.53-37.20)]×106/kg (P =0.610), (93.8% vs 85.2%) (P =0.275), (62.5% vs 49.4%) (P =0.190), respectively. Among 113 patients mobilized with etoposide +G-CSF, the number of CD34+ cells, success rate, and excellence rate collected from COVID-19 infection (17 cases) and non-COVID-19 infection (96 cases) were [7.54 (2.66-26.87) vs 7.78 (2.26-37.20)]×106/kg (P =0.847), (100.0% vs 100.0%) (no P value), (82.4% vs 86.5%) (P =0.655), respectively. Among 32 patients mobilized by plerixafor +G-CSF, the number of CD34+ cells, success rate and excellence rate of COVID-19 infection (15 cases) and non-COVID-19 infection (17 cases) were [3.82 (0.94-7.27) vs 4.11 (0.53-9.05)]×106/kg (P =0.821), (86.7% vs 88.2%) (P =0.893), (40.0% vs 35.3%) (P =0.784), respectively. In 32 patients with COVID-19 infection, the number of CD34+ cells collected by etoposide +G-CSF (17 cases) and plerixafor +G-CSF (15 cases), as well as the success rate and excellence rate were [7.54 (2.66-26.87) vs 3.82(0.94-7.27)]×106/kg (P =0.004), (100.0% vs 86.7%) (P =0.120), (82.4% vs 40.0%) (P =0.014), respectively. By 2023.7.31, 232 patients (86.2%, 232/269) had received transplantation, including 24 patients in the COVID-19 group and 208 patients in the non-COVID-19 group. The median number of CD34+ cells infused in the two groups was [3.67 (2.50-13.44) vs 3.11(1.12-19.89)]×106/kg (P =0.058), the median days of neutrophil engraftment [11(9-13) vs 11(9-17)] (P =0.674), the median days of platelet engraftment [11(0-23), 12(0-43)] (P =0.279), respectively.
CONCLUSION
The history of COVID-19 infection did not affect the PBSC mobilization, collection and transplantation of patients with myeloma. In patients with COVID-19 infection, the results of chemotherapy mobilization with etoposide seems to be better than that of plerixafor mobilization, but further research is needed to clarify.

BACKGROUND:At present, osteoarthritis has become a major disease affecting the quality of life of the elderly, and the therapeutic effect is poor, often focusing on preventing the disease process, and the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis is still not fully understood.Bioinformatics analysis was carried out to explore the main pathogenesis of osteoarthritis and related mechanisms of gene coding regulation. OBJECTIVE:To screen core differential genes with a major role in osteoarthritis by gene expression profiling. METHODS:Datasets were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO):GSE114007,GSE117999,and GSE129147.Differential genes in the GSE114007 and GSE117999 data collections were screened using R software, performing differential genes to weighted gene co-expression network analysis. The module genes most relevant to osteoarthritis were selected to perform protein interaction analysis.Candidate core genes were selected using the cytocape software. The candidate core genes were subsequently subjected to least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression and COX analysis to identify the core genes with a key role in osteoarthritis. The accuracy of the core genes was validated using an external dataset,GSE129147. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)A total of 477 differential genes were identified,265 differential genes associated with osteoarthritis were obtained by weighted gene co-expression network analysis, and 8 candidate core genes were identified. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression analysis finally yielded a differential gene ASPM with core value that was externally validated.(2)It is concluded that abnormal gene ASPM expression screened by bioinformatics plays a key central role in osteoarthritis.

Objective:To investigate the efficacy and safety of bridging thrombectomy and direct thrombectomy in patients with acute anterior circulation large core infarction. Methods:A retrospective cross-sectional study was performed; 131 patients with acute anterior circulation large core infarction with an onset time≤ 24 hours received endovascular treatment (EVT) at Department of Intervention Neurosurgery, Nanyang Central Hospital, Xinxiang Medical University, from June 2022 to June 2024 were chosen; they were divided into bridging thrombectomy group (accepted intravenous thrombolysis [IVT] before EVT, n=55) and direct thrombectomy group ( n=76). Statistical analysis was conducted to compare the differences in efficacy and safety between the two groups. Efficacy indicators included modified Rankin scale (mRS) score 90 days after thrombectomy, and good prognosis rate 90 days after thrombectomy (mRS scores of 0-2). Safety indicators included intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) incidence within 72 hours of thrombectomy, symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) incidence within 72 hours of thrombectomy, mortality 90 days after thrombectomy, and ratio of patients receiving decompressive craniectomy after surgery. Results:No significant difference between the direct thrombectomy group and bridging thrombectomy group was noted in terms of mRS score 90 days after thrombectomy (3 [2, 6] vs. 3 [2, 6]), good prognosis rate 90 days after thrombectomy (38.2% vs. 25.5%), ICH incidence within 72 hours of thrombectomy (30.3% vs. 40.0%), sICH incidence within 72 hours of thrombectomy (21.1% vs. 21.8%), mortality rate within 90 days of thrombectomy (28.9% vs. 25.5%), and ratio of patients receiving decompressive craniectomy after surgery (9.2% vs. 9.1%, P>0.05). Core infarction volume at 100 mL was used as grouping standard, subgroup analysis showed that when the core infarction volume was 70-100 mL and >100 mL, respectively, no significant difference in sICH incidence was noted between the bridging thrombectomy group and direct thrombectomy group ( P>0.05). Conclusion:For patients with acute anterior circulation large core infarction with an onset time≤ 24 hours, bridging thrombectomy has similar efficacy and safety as direct thrombectomy.
