Mass vaccination represents a highly effective strategy for accelerating disease control while simultaneously reducing incidence and mortality rates. By developing comprehensive plans and standards for mass vaccination, it is feasible to optimize resource allocation and swiftly enhance vaccination coverage, thereby preventing, controlling, or interrupting outbreaks or epidemics of specific infectious diseases. To standardize the mass vaccination process and establish a population immunity barrier in an orderly, efficient, and safe manner, a panel of experts was convened to develop the Recommendations on Mass Vaccination. These recommendations are grounded in the requirements of relevant policies and regulations in China, as well as the insights gained from the mass vaccination campaign for COVID-19 vaccines conducted in the country. The recommendations outline the system requirements pertaining to initiation conditions, departmental coordination, responsibilities, mobilization, operational specifications, and responses to vaccine reactions, among other aspects of mass vaccination implementation, so as to serve as a reference for future mass vaccination initiatives and the formulation of related policies.

Objective:To investigate and summarize the imaging and pathological features of non-acute occlusion following flow diverter (FD) implantation in animal models. Methods:Four experimental pigs (experimental group) that experienced non-acute occlusion (occlusion time exceeding 24 hours) within the FD stent implanted in the common carotid artery, and 19 pigs (control group) that did not experience stent occlusion during the same period were involved. Using an interventional approach under digital subtraction angiography (DSA), the 4 occluded FD lumens were mechanically opened. Optical coherence tomography (OCT), intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and histopathological examinations were performed to evaluate the intraluminal composition and characteristics of the occlusive tissues. These findings were compared with non-occluded FD stents to summarize the imaging and pathological changes within the occluded FD lumen. Results:The occlusion times of the FD stents in the 4 experimental pigs were 16 weeks, 20 weeks, 20 weeks, and 24 weeks postoperatively. All occluded stents were successfully recanalized under DSA, with a technical success rate of 4/4. Among the 19 non-occluded FD stents, OCT and IVUS revealed uniform (16 stents) or non-uniform (3 stents) neointimal coverage of the stent struts, presenting as homogeneous high/slightly high signal intensity or medium echogenicity. Histopathological examination indicated that the neointima was primarily composed of smooth muscle cells and a small amount of fibrous connective tissues. In contrast, the 4 occluded FD stents demonstrated excessive neointimal proliferation and plaque formation, leading to luminal loss, as shown by OCT and IVUS. The occlusion tissues predominantly presented as homogeneous high signal intensity with weak attenuation (fibrous plaques) on OCT, with some regions showing blurred low signal intensity and strong attenuation (lipid plaques). IVUS presented homogeneous echogenicity (fibrous plaques) and hypoechogenic zones (lipid plaques). Histopathological examination showed that the occlusion tissues mainly consisted of smooth muscle cells, fibrous connective tissues, and lipids, accompanied by numerous foam cells and a minor presence of inflammatory cells. Conclusions:Histopathological examinations confirm that non-acute occlusion of FD is mainly caused by excessive hyperplasia of intima along with the formation of fibrous plaques and lipid plaques. OCT and IVUS have typical finding in imaging that can assist in determining the cause of stent occlusion as well as the lesion's nature, thereby providing crucial guidance for subsequent clinical treatment and drug selection.

As a serine protease, thrombin can convert soluble fibrinogen into insoluble fibrin and plays a pivotal role in the coagulation cascade. Therefore, the accurate quantitative assay of thrombin levels is of great value in the evaluation of coagulation function, clinical screening and prognostic monitoring of coagulation-related diseases, and screening of drugs for targeted therapy.Existing methods for thrombin detection can be divided into two categories,e.g.,the assay of concentration levels using nucleic acid aptamers as the affinity elements and the assay of activity levels based on the hydrolytic cleavage of substrate peptides. In recent years, electrochemical biosensors have attracted much attention in thrombin detection due to high sensitivity, high selectivity, simple instrument, fast response, and good portability. In this review, the latest research progress in methods for electrochemical detection of thrombin was summarized, focusing on the detection principles and the applied signal amplification strategies of related electrochemical biosensors. In addition, the challenges with respect to the practical use of electrochemical thrombin biosensors and the prospects were discussed.

OBJECTIVE:
To elucidate the specific mechanisms by which electroacupuncture (EA) alleviates anxiety and fear behaviors associated with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), focusing on the role of lipocalin-2 (Lcn2).
METHODS:
The PTSD mouse model was subjected to single prolonged stress and shock (SPS&S), and the animals received 15 min sessions of EA at Shenmen acupoint (HT7). Behavioral tests were used to investigate the effects of EA at HT7 on anxiety and fear. Western blotting and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were used to quantify Lcn2 and inflammatory cytokine levels in the prefrontal cortex (PFC). Additionally, the activity of PFC neurons was evaluated by immunofluorescence and in vivo electrophysiology.
RESULTS:
Mice subjected to SPS&S presented increased anxiety- and fear-like behaviors. Lcn2 expression in the PFC was significantly upregulated following SPS&S, leading to increased expression of the proinflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-6 and suppression of PFC neuronal activity. However, EA at HT7 inhibited Lcn2 release, reducing neuroinflammation and hypoexcitability in the PFC. Lcn2 overexpression mitigated the effects of EA at HT7, resulting in anxiety- and fear-like behaviors.
CONCLUSION
EA at HT7 can ameliorate PTSD-associated anxiety and fear, and its mechanism of action appears to involve the inhibition of Lcn2-mediated neural activity and inflammation in the PFC. ObjectiveTo understand the visual environment sanitation in primary and secondary school classrooms in Minhang District, Shanghai, and to investigate the factors affecting the decline in students’ visual acuity. MethodsIn 2020, among all the primary and secondary schools in Minhang District, according to different types of classroom structures, levels, orientations, unilateral lighting, and bilateral lighting, a total of 20 231 students from 674 classrooms in primary and secondary schools were selected through stratified cluster sampling. Each monitored classroom was regarded as a research unit, and the naked eye vision of students was tested using a standard logarithmic vision chart during the 2020 and 2021 academic years. The change in average visual acuity between the two measurements was taken as the dependent variable, and the visual environment indices were considered as independent variables. The relationship between classroom visual environment indices and the decline in students’ naked eye vision was analyzed. ResultsThe qualification rates for per capita classroom area, window to floor area ratio, average illuminance of the blackboard, uniformity of blackboard illuminance, average illuminance of the desks, uniformity of desk illuminance, lighting coefficient of classroom, blackboard reflection ratio, back wall reflection ratio, and distance between lamps and desks were 79.53%, 88.58%, 46.74%, 70.33%,64.69%, 80.86%, 71.81%, 20.30%, 1.63%, and 97.53%, respectively. The average naked eye vision of primary and secondary school students in the 2020 academic year was 4.75±0.37 (right eye) and 4.76±0.37 (left eye), while in the 2021 academic year, it was 4.70±0.39 (right eye) and 4.71±0.38 (left eye). There was a significant decrease in the naked eye vision of primary and secondary school students in the 2021 academic year compared to that of 2020 (P<0.05). Univariate linear regression analysis showed a significant correlation between grade, average illuminance of the blackboard, average illuminance of the desks, uniformity of desk illuminance, lighting coefficient, and distance between lamps and desks, and the decline of students’ naked eye vision within one academic year (P<0.05). After adjusting for grade, multiple linear regression analysis revealed a significant correlation between the average illuminance of the blackboard, uniformity of desk illuminance, lighting coefficient, and distance between lamps and desks, and the decline of students’ naked eye vision within one academic year (P<0.05). Higher average illuminance of the blackboard, uniformity of desk illuminance, lighting coefficient, and distance between lamps and desks were protective factors for naked eye vision. ConclusionThe visual environment of primary and secondary school classrooms in Minhang District is a matter of concern. Average illuminance of the blackboard, uniformity of desk illuminance, lighting coefficient, and distance between lamps and desks are related to the degree of visual impairment in students over a year.

The assessment of adverse drug events is an important basis for clinical safety evaluation and post-marketing risk control of drugs, and its causality assessment is gaining increasing attention. The existing methods for assessing the causal relationship between drugs and the occurrence of adverse reactions can be broadly classified into three categories:global introspective methods, standardized methods, and probabilistic methods. At present, there is no systematic introduction of the operational details of the various methods in the domestic literature. This paper compares representative causality assessment methods in terms of definition and concept, methodological steps, industry evaluation and advantages and disadvantages, clarifies the basic process of determining the causality of adverse drug reactions, and discusses how to further improve the adverse drug reaction monitoring and evaluation system, with a view to providing a reference for drug development and pharmacovigilance work in China.
