Objective To provide a scientific basis for vector prevention and control in port areas, vector monitoring has been conducted continuously to characterize the composition, density, and seasonal fluctuations of vectors across 21 port-areas of Shandong province from 2017 to 2023. Methods In accordance with the Regional Vector Monitoring Plan for Frontier Ports, vector surveillance of mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches, rodents, and other disease vectors was performed. Data were analyzed to describe vector community composition and identify seasonal fluctuations. Results A total of 601 rodents belonging to 1 family, 4 genera, and 4 species were captured. Three dominant rodent species inhabit port areas. In addition, 88 104 mosquitoes were captured and classified into 3 subfamilies, 4 genera, and 12 species; 38 959 flies were trapped and classified into 8 families,31 genera, and 51 species, including 9 dominant fly species in port-areas; and 54 672 captured cockroaches were classified into 2 families,4 genera, and 4 species, with Blattella germanica as the dominant species. Conclusions Significant vector community changes(P<0.005)have been identified after the epidemic. To improve the pertinence and efficacy of port health quarantine work, continuous and strong attention should be paid to vector compositions and population densities at Shandong ports.

Objective To investigate the mechanism of Ginkgo biloba extracts(GB)in the treatment of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion(CIR)injury based on network pharmacology and animal experiments. Methods The intersection targets of CIR and GB were obtained from TCMSP,GeneCards and other databases.Cytoscape software and Metascape database were used to analyze and map the related targets. The model of transient middle cerebral arterial occlusion(t-MCAO)was constructed in mice by suture method, and the effects of GB on the neurological function of mice after t-MCAO were observed by the neurological deficit score and Morris water maze test.HE staining was used to observe the pathological structural changes of neuron in the hippocampus of mice, and Western blot was used to verify the signal pathways screened by network pharmacology. Results Network pharmacology predicted that GB contained 33 active ingredients, and 116 potential targets of GB in treatment of CIR included Caspase3,Bax,etc.In addition,GB may play a protective role through signaling pathways such as PI3K-Akt and AMPK.Animal experiments showed that GB treatment could significantly improve the neural function and learning spatial memory ability of mice, alleviate the brain histopathological injury, and activate p-Akt/Akt signaling pathway. Conclusion GB has the characteristics of multi-target and multi-pathways therapy for CIR,which may reduce neuronal apoptosis by activating the p-Akt/Akt signaling pathway.

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Tianma Xionglin Zhixuan Tablets in treating hypertension patients with liver yang hyperactivity or comorbid phlegm-stasis syndrome and explore its therapeutic mechanisms through plasma metabolomics.Methods:Thirty-six hypertension patients(4 dropouts)diagnosed with liver yang hyperactivity or phlegm-stasis syndrome were enrolled as the treatment group from June 2022 to September 2023 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, while 30 healthy volunteers with balanced constitutions were recruited as the blank group.Plasma samples were collected from patients pre-and post-treatment and from healthy volunteers.Clinical outcomes, including syndrome scores, office blood pressure(BP),and 24-hour ambulatory BP,were recorded.Plasma metabolomic profiling was performed using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS).Results:Compared with baseline,Tianma Xionglin Zhixuan Tablets significantly reduced traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores(P<0.01),office systolic/diastolic BP(P<0.01),and 24-hour ambulatory BP parameters(24-hour mean BP,daytime/nighttime mean BP;all P<0.01).Metabolomic analysis identified 45 differential metabolites between the blank group and pretreatment patients, and 64 metabolites altered post-treatment(VIP>1,P<0.05).Enrichment analysis of 16 overlapping endogenous metabolites revealed that Tianma Xionglin Zhixuan Tablets primarily modulated arachidonic acid metabolism and sphingolipid metabolism pathways. Conclusion:Tianma Xionglin Zhixuan Tablets demonstrates significant clinical efficacy in hypertension patients with liver yang hyperactivity or phlegm-stasis syndrome, potentially mediated through regulation of arachidonic acid and sphingolipid metabolism.

Neonatal sepsis is a global health problem that seriously affects the body health and life safety of newborns. It has a higher incidence in preterm infants, especially for early-onset sepsis (EOS) within 72 hours of birth. The diagnosis of neonatal EOS requires a series of examinations, and early and accurate diagnosis can improve clinical outcomes and reduce antibiotic overuse in a timely manner. At present, the commonly used biomarkers and traditional blood culture methods for EOS diagnosis have certain shortcomings,so it is urgent to find new molecular diagnostic methods. This article summarizes and compares the early and novel diagnostic methods of neonatal EOS,in order to provide a reference for clinical practice.

This study was aimed at understanding the prevalence and drug resistance status of Salmonella of waterfowl ori-gin in the Guangdong region in the past decade,to guide prevention and control efforts. The drug-sensitive paper slide method was used to conduct drug susceptibility testing on 314 waterfowl-originating Salmonella strains isolated from 238 waterfowl farms in the Guangdong region from 2013 to 2023.The isolated Salmonella strains were most resistant to penicillin,amoxicil-lin,cefradine,and cefazolin in the β-lactam group;sulphadoxine dimethylpyrimidine in the sulphonamide group;and tetracy-cline in the tetracycline group. The resistance rates ranged from 73.57%to 89.49%.The highest sensitivity was observed to amikacin, gentamicin, and kanamycin in the aminoglycoside group, and norfloxacin in the quinolone group, with susceptibility rates all exceeding 50%.The 280 strains of Salmonella showed multi-drug resistance to six classes of antimicrobial drugs and high resistance(as much as 60.83%)to five drug classes.Correlation analysis revealed the highest correlations for florfenicol with gentamicin, and for amoxicillin with penicillin(r=0.650 for both),followed by gentamicin with kanamycin(r=0.620).Salmonella resistance in waterfowl in Guangdong Province was generally severe and showed a complex pattern of drug resist-ance.Detection of waterfowl pathogens should be strengthened to prevent the spread of drug-resistant bacteria and support ra-tional use of antibiotics. This work provides a reference for Salmonella prevention and control in waterfowl farms.
