Objective This study reports on the obligatory parasitism of water mites Arrenurus sp. on Anopheles messeae at the Manzhouli Port, Inner Mongolia, China. Methods Duing July 2024, a survey on the mosquito diversity was conducted at the Manzhouli Port. Captured mosquitoes and their ectoparasites were identified to species level. Results A total of 1840 adult mosquitoes were collected, representing species from three genera: Culex(Cx. modestus, Cx. pipiens pallens), Aedes(Ae. dorsalis, Ae. flavidorsalis, Ae. flavescens), and Anopheles (An. messeae). Among all the mosqutioes specimens,3 out of 150 captured An. messeae were found to carry ectoparasitic mites, with number of 2,4,27 mites separately. Morphological and molecular identification reached the same result as water mites(Hydrachnidiae, Hydracrina). COI gene sequence showed 94% similarity with the closest species Arrenurus truncatellus. Conlusions Literature review suggests water mites are host-specific parasitism of mosquito species and herein with the first record of Arrenurus sp. parasiting on An. Messeae in the most high-latitude region globally.

Body weight abnormalities, including overweight, obesity, and underweight, have become a dual public health challenge in Chinese adults: overweight and obesity lead to a variety of chronic complications, while underweight increases the risks of malnutrition, sarcopenia, and organ dysfunction. To systematically address these issues, multidisciplinary experts in endocrinology, sports science, nutrition, and psychiatry from various regions have held multiple weight management seminars. Based on the latest epidemiological data and clinical evidence, they expanded the guideline to include assessment and intervention strategies for underweight, in addition to the core content of obesity management. This guideline outlines the etiological mechanisms, evaluation methods, and multidimensional management strategies for overweight and obesity, covering key areas such as diagnosis and assessment, medical nutrition therapy, exercise prescription, pharmacological intervention, and psychological support. It is intended to provide a scientific and standardized approach to weight management across the adult population, aiming to curb the rising prevalence of obesity, mitigate complications associated with abnormal body weight, and improve nutritional status and overall quality of life.

With the extended survival period of breast cancer patients and the increasing health demands, the concomitant diseases of breast cancer have gradually attracted the attention of both doctors and patients, and it is imperative to conduct comprehensive management of these diseases, in which the general practitioners, as the more comprehensive and complex medical talents, have not yet played their due roles. In this article, we report two cases of comprehensive management of concomitant diseases of breast cancer through collaboration of general practitioners and specialists (integrated general and specialist care). The role and function of general practitioners in this process were deeply analyzed, and the establishment of a consultation-liaison general practice model to further promote the role of integrated general and specialist care in integrated oncology care was advocated.

Aging is comprehensively influenced by multiple fac-tors such as internal genes, cellular metabolism, external envi-ronment,and lifestyle habits.Among them, epigenetic regula-tion plays a core role.Epigenetic modifications, including DNA methylation, histone modification, heterochromatin remodeling, and non-coding RNA regulation, act in concert with the three-di-mensional genome architecture to precisely regulate gene expres-sion.This review elaborates on the factors influencing epigenetic regulation,as well as the mechanisms of how epigenetics affects the occurrence of organismal aging and the corresponding inter-vention strategies, providing relevant insights for uncovering the mechanisms of aging and preventing/treating aging-related disea-ses.

A total of 269 non-diabetic chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients were enrolled in this study. Among them, 175 patients (65.1%) were assigned to the control group and received conventional therapy with maximally tolerated doses of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors, while 94 patients (34.9%) were assigned to the dapagliflozin group and received oral dapagliflozin 10 mg/day in addition to the conventional therapy. The results showed that the urine protein quantity in the dapagliflozin group was lower than those in the control group at 3, 6, 12, 18, and 24 months of follow-up (all P<0.05), and the blood albumin level was higher than those in the control group at 18 and 24 months of follow-up (all P<0.05). The Kaplan-Meier survival curve analysis results showed that the cumulative renal survival rate of the dapagliflozin group was significantly higher than that of the control group (Log-rank test, χ2=5.078, P=0.024). Multivariable Cox regression analysis results revealed that using dapagliflozin was independently associated with a reduced risk of the composite endpoint in non-diabetic CKD patients ( HR=0.400, 95% CI 0.163-0.983, P=0.046). There was no statistical difference in adverse reactions between the two groups (all P>0.05). It is indicated that dapagliflozin has a renal protective effect independent of hypoglycemic action and good safety.

Aim To explore the mechanism of clar-ithromycin in treating inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)by inhibiting Kv1.3 channel protein in colonic epithelial cells. Methods A chronic IBD rat model was induced using dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)in vi-vo experiments, with clarithromycin intervention. The physical signs of each group of rats were observed, and the disease activity index(DAI)score and colonic mu-cosal damage index(CMDI)score were calculated.RT-qPCR was used to detect the levels of relevant cyto-kines in colonic tissue of rats.Flow cytometry was em-ployed to detect the relative proportions of immune cells in the peripheral blood and colonic tissue of each group of rats.Lipopolysaccharide(LPS)was used to establish an inflammation model of colon epithelial cells(NCM460)to clarify the inhibitory effect of clar-ithromycin on Kv1.3 channel protein. Results In vi-vo experiments:compared to the model group, the clar-ithromycin intervention group exhibited a reduced de-gree of weight loss(P<0.01),and a significant de-crease in DAI scores(P<0.01).There was an in-crease in colon length,a reduction in weight, and a de-crease in CMDI scores(P<0.05).Levels of TNF-α,IL-1 β,and IL-6 in colon tissue were significantly re-duced(P<0.01).The numbers of peripheral blood and colonic regulatory T lymphocytes(Th),cytotoxic T lymphocytes(CTL),natural killer cells(NK),B lym-phocytes(B),and dendritic cells(DC)were signifi-cantly decreased(P<0.05).Clarithromycin reduced the expression of Kv1.3 channel protein in colon tissue(P<0.05).In vitro experiments:compared to the model group, the clarithromycin group significantly pro-moted the proliferation of NCM460 cells(P<0.01)and simultaneously significantly reduced the levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in cells(P<0.05).Clarithromycin also reduced the expression of Kv1.3 channel protein in NCM460 cells(P<0.05).Conclusions Clar-ithromycin may play an immunomodulatory role by in-hibiting the expression of Kv1.3 channel protein,re-ducing inflammation in the body, and playing a role in the treatment of IBD.

The therapeutic effects of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) decoction is closely related to its decocting methods. A correct understanding of the scientific connotations of decocting methods in TCM is of great significance for guiding the application of decoctions and the development of modern TCM preparations based on decoctions. The decocting process is not only a hot water extraction process of chemical components but also accompanied by complex chemical and physical changes, forming a complex multiphase system and significantly affecting the absorption and therapeutic effect of TCM. This article reviews the research progress in scientific connotations of decocting methods in TCM from the perspectives of chemical composition changes, phase state differences, absorption behavior changes, and pharmacological and toxicological changes caused by decocting. This review is expected to provide implications for studying decocting methods and their scientific interpretation, boost the innovation and development of TCM decoctions, and promote the design and development of modern TCM preparations.
