Background In recent years, the increasingly widespread application of nuclear and medical radiation technologies has resulted in a large number of occupational populations exposed to low-dose ionizing radiation (LDIR). At present, there is no consistent conclusion on the effects of long-term exposure to LDIR on the metabolic health of the occupational population. Objective To explore the association between long-term exposure to LDIR and metabolic syndrome (MetS) among medical radiologists. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted to enroll

Objective To systematically evaluate and analyze qualitative studies of parental engagement in kangaroo mother care experiences for preterm infants in the NICU,aiming to provide references for promoting the early recovery of preterm infants in NICU and improving the quality of nursing services. Methods Relevant were searched for qualitative studies of parental engagement in kangaroo mother care for preterm infants in NICU.The search time limit was from the construction of the database to July 19,2024.The quality of the included literature was assessed using the Joanna Brigg Institute's(JBI)Australian Centre for Evidence-Based Health Care's Quality Assessment Criteria for Qualitative Research, and the results were integrated using the meta-integration methods. Results A total of 17 papers were included in the literature, and 61 findings were extracted, grouped into 10 new categories. These were further synthesized into 4 integrated findings:physical and psychological perceptions of participation in kangaroo mother care;challenges to participation in kangaroo mother care;facilitators of participation in kangaroo mother care;expectations and suggestions for kangaroo mother care. Conclusion Hospital administrators should further improve the management specifications of kangaroo mother care for preterm infants in NICU,optimize resource allocation and strengthen publicity. At the same time, healthcare professionals should actively promote the establishment of peer and family support systems and increase participation in kangaroo mother care to facilitate early recovery of preterm infants in NICU and to continuously promote the improvement of nursing service quality.

Epidemiological evidence suggests that patients with hypertension infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) are at increased risk of acute lung injury. However, it is still not clear whether this increased risk is related to the usage of renin-angiotensin system (RAS) blockers. We collected medical records of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients from the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (Hangzhou, China), and evaluated the potential impact of an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) on the clinical outcomes of COVID-19 patients with hypertension. A total of 30 hypertensive COVID-19 patients were enrolled, of which 17 were classified as non-ARB group and the remaining 13 as ARB group based on the antihypertensive therapies they received. Compared with the non-ARB group, patients in the ARB group had a lower proportion of severe cases and intensive care unit (ICU) admission as well as shortened length of hospital stay, and manifested favorable results in most of the laboratory testing. Viral loads in the ARB group were lower than those in the non-ARB group throughout the disease course. No significant difference in the time of seroconversion or antibody levels was observed between the two groups. The median levels of soluble angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (sACE2) in serum and urine samples were similar in both groups, and there were no significant correlations between serum sACE2 and biomarkers of disease severity. Transcriptional analysis showed 125 differentially expressed genes which mainly were enriched in oxygen transport, bicarbonate transport, and blood coagulation. Our results suggest that ARB usage is not associated with aggravation of COVID-19. These findings support the maintenance of ARB treatment in hypertensive patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

Objective To analyze the distribution and drug resistance of pathogens for bacterial infection after lung transplantation,so as to provide evidence for clinical prophylactic strategies postoperation and reasonable use of antibiotics.Method The bacterial distribution and drug resistance of 81 recipients after lung transplantation in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed from May 2009 to October 2012.The VITEK-32 full-automatic microbial identification system (Biomerieux,France)and its supplementary reagent were used for bacterial identification and drug sensitive test. The data were statistically analyzed by using the software SPSS 13.0.Result There were 67 cases of bacterial infection in the 81 recipients after lung transplantation and the infection rate was 82.72% (67/81).The infection was caused by one kind of bacteria in 20 patients, two kinds of bacteria in 23 patients and multiple bacteria in 24 patients.157 strains pathogenic bacteria were produced, and the grampositive bacilli and the gram-negative bacilli accounted for 12.74% and 87.26% respectively. The most common pathogens for the bacterial infection were Acinetobacter baumannii,Klebsiella pneumoniae,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Stenotrophomonasmaltophilia,Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Most of the bacterial infections occurred in the early period (≤1 month) after lung transplantation and most non-fermentative bacterial pathogens were resistant to multi-antibiotics.Conclusion The bacterial infection rate is high after lung transplantation. The rational use of antibiotics in clinical practice should be adjusted according to the bacterial distribution and drug resistance.

ObjectiveTo investigate the efficacy of rapamycin combined with CsA/Tacrolimus (Tac) in chronic allograft nephropathy (CAN).MethodsFifty-three cases of CAN accepted the quadruple immunosuppressive drug program, which contained rapamycin combined with CsA/Tac and MMF and prednisone, and CsA/Tac and MMF were reduced to the original amount of 25% to 50%.After treatment for 12 months, more relevant indicators, including serum creatinine, glomerular filtration rate, serum cholesterol, triglycerides, urinary protein,GPT and bilirubin and other changes were observed.ResultsIn the patients receiving quadruple regimen of rapamycin during 12 months, the blood Ccr was decreased from (161.51 ± 106.48)μmol/L before treatment to (126.51 ± 56.2)μmol/L after treatment for 6 months (P<0.05) and to (123.43 ± 54.18)μmol/L after for 12 months (P<0.01).The GFR was increased from (0.754 ± 0.302) ml/s before treatment to (0.952 ± 0.347)ml/s after treatment for 6 months (P<0.05) and to (1.007 ± 0.394) ml/s after treatment for 12 months (P<0.01).Cholesterol and triglycerides in patients had no significant change before and after treatment. The positive rate of proteinuria after treatment showed an increasing trend from 9.4% before treatment to 26.4% after treatment for 12 months.ConclusionThe quadruple program of rapamycin combined with CsA/FK506 and MMF can significantly improve Ccr and GFR in patients with CAN,but it can increase the incidence of proteinuria in patients:
