Lacrimal duct obstruction is a common condition in ophthalmology. Chronic dacryocystitis, resulting from a secondary infection, can significantly impact a person's health and quality of life and may easily lead to obstruction due to inflammation or trauma. The most common symptom of a blocked tear duct is excessive tearing. Over time, if the tear duct becomes infected with bacteria, chronic dacryocystitis can develop, leading to inflammation of the conjunctiva, eyelids, and face, which can severely affect a patient's daily life. Therefore, active research into the risk factors associated with lacrimal canal obstruction, as well as an understanding of their prevalence in the population, is essential. This knowledge will aid in further investigations into their pathogenesis and preventive measures, which are crucial for reducing incidence rates and improving treatment outcomes.

High myopia, one of the most prevalent diseases globally, is primarily treated through surgery. The recovery of visual acuity after surgery is particularly important. However, high myopia often presents unique pathological changes that can easily lead to cataracts, complicating the surgery and affecting the prognosis. Phacoemulsification can effectively address cataract conditions, but it may result in instability of the intraocular lens. Therefore, it is crucial to further explore better surgical options. This paper reviews the optimal surgical procedures for high myopia with cataracts, as well as the stability of the intraocular lens and the recovery of visual acuity after surgery.

Objective To study the effect of auricular point sticking on the cerebrovascular reactivity in hypertension patients of different stages by using Transcranial Doppler (TCD) technology.Method Three hundred hypertension patients were randomized into a treatment group (auricular point sticking) of 180 cases and a control group (medication) of 120 cases. The cerebral arterial hemodynamic indexes were observed and analyzed by TCD before and after intervention.Result In comparing the improvements of cerebral arterial hemodynamic indexes in stage 1-2 hypertension patients, the treatment group was significantly superior to the control group (P＜0.05,P＜0.01); in stage 3 hypertension patients, the improvements of cerebrovascular hemodynamics of the treatment group were significantly better than those in the control group (P＜0.05,P＜0.01).Conclusion Auricular point sticking can improve the cerebrovascular hemodynamics and effectively improve the cerebrovascular reactivity of hypertension patients. TCD can help observe and estimate the cerebral arterial function of hypertension patients, and prevent and intervene in cerebrovascular diseases.

ObjectiveTo explore the efficacy and toxicity of nimotuzumab plus chemotherapy in the treatment of metastatic gastrointestinal tumor.MethodsObservationgroup 22 patients with metastatic gastrointestinal tumor with confirmed diagnosis,were treated with nimotuzumab in combination chemotherapy.Nimotuzumab was given 200 mg weekly for at least six weeks. Control group 21 patients with metastatic gastrointestinal tumor with confirmed diagnosis were treated with only chemotherapy.ResultsThe effects of observation group could be observed in 22 patients, the rate of response(RR)was 31.8％ (7/22), and the disease control rate (DCR) was 72.7 ％ (16/22).QOL was improved.The effects of observation group could be observed in 21 patients,RR was 14.3 ％ (3/21),and the disease control rate was 42.8 ％ (19/21).DCR and QOL improvements were statistically significant different between the two groups.(x2=3.939,x2=4.250,P＜0.05).The two groups had no significant difference in RR and toxicity.ConclusionNimotuzumab in combination with chemotherapy is effective and can improve the disease control rate, toxicity, tolerance,quality of life.

Objective To investigate podocyte number, the expression of nephrin and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1) in adriamycin-induced-nephropathy rat model and its significance. Methods The rat adriamycin nephrosis model was constructed to detect blood and urine biochemical indicators and observe the pathological changes of renal tissues by light microscope and electron microscope. The expression levels of nephrin and TGF-β1 as well as the podocyte number were examined at different time points by immunohistochemistry. Results The pathological changes of the renal tissues were obvious. Nephrin presented a weak signal at the end of the first week (P<0.05). TGF-β1 started to increase (P<0.05) while the podocyte number started to decrease at the end of the eighth week (P<0.05). Expression of nephrin was negatively correlated with the P<0.05) and serum creatinine (r=-0.71, P<0.05). Expression of TGF-β1 was blood urea nitrogen (r=0.62, P<0.05) and serum creatinine (r=0.59, urinary protein (r=-0.63, P<0.05), blood urea nitrogen (r=-0.72, P<0.05) and serum creatinine (r=-0.76, P<0.05); it was positively correlated with nephrin (r=0.78, P<0.01) but negatively correlated with TGF-β1 (r=-0.64, P<0.05). Conclusion The acute and chronic adriamycin nephrosis models were twice every two weeks. The genesis and development of proteinuria are closely related to the abnormal expression of nephrin. Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis occurs when the podocyte number decreases and TGF-β1 accelerates it.

Objective To discuss a simple and effective method of medial epicanthoplasty with the subcilliary incision, which can decrease the visible scar. Methods From January of 2007 to De-cember of 2008, 38 patients with epicanthal fold underwent epicanthoplasty using the new method. During the operation a skin incision was subcilliarily made outward from the original medial epican-thus. After elevating the flap and excising the orbicularis oculi muscle beneath the epieanthal fold, the new medial epicanthus was sutured to the designed point. Then subciliary incision was trimmed and sutured. Results Most of the patients obtained satisfactory results. Only one patient complained a-bout visible scarring and none required revision surgery. Scarring was avoided on the noticeable medial canthal region because the only incisions needed were subciliary incisions. Conclusions This method is simple to design and easy to perform. The operative results are effective without visible scars on the medial canthal region.

Exosomes are membrane vesicles released into the extracellular environment upon exocytic fusion of multivesicular bodies with the cell surface. As a result of initial studies showing that exosomes display signal and immune factors,a particular interest has emerged in their use as a cellular vehicles for stimulation of immune responses in vivo.In recent years,on the base of the knowledge of the biological properties and functions, exosomes have been rebuilt and bound to different kinds of immunological stimulators as a result to enhanced antitumor funotions.In this paper,the related methods,immunological stimulators and the properties of man-made exosomes are mainly reviewed.

Tetraspanin 2-A(SjTsp2-A) gene was amplified by PCR.pcDNA3.1(+)/SjTsp2-A recombinant plasmids were constructed and transformed into E.coli DH5?.Twenty four BALB/c mice were randomly divided into pcDNA3.1(+) /SjTsp2-A group(A),pcDNA3.1(+)/SjGST group(B) and pcDNA3.1(+) group(C).Each mouse was injected through musculus quadriceps femoris by three times(two weeks interval) respectively with 100 ?g pcDNA3.1(+)/SjTsp2-A,pcDNA3.1(+)/SjGST,or pcDNA3.1(+).At two weeks after the final inoculation,mice were each challenged by 40?2 cercariae of S.japonicum.Forty-five days after infection,all mice were sacrificed,the number of worms collected and eggs in liver tisssue was counted.Anti-pcDNA3.1(+)/SjTsp2-A antibody was detected by ELISA and protein expression in quadriceps muscle by immunohistochemical staining.The worm reduction rate(44.4%) and egg reduction rate(28.4%) of group A was higher than those of group B and C(P
