Objective:
To analyze the status and trends of the disease burden of periodontal disease among women of reproductive age (15-49 years) in China from 1990 to 2021, and to provide a reference for the development of periodontal disease prevention and control strategies for women of reproductive age.
Methods:
Using the global burden of disease (GBD) data from 1990 to 2021, this study investigated the periodontal disease burden among women of reproductive age, including prevalence, incidence, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), DALY rates, and their corresponding standardized indicators. Joinpoint 5.2.0.0 software was used for time trend analysis of DALYs, age-specific DALY rates, and annual average percentage change (AAPC) values. A log-linear regression model was used to test trends for DALYs and DALY rates.
Results:
Compared with 1990, the prevalence and incidence of periodontal disease among Chinese women in 2021 increased by 45.67% (per 100,000 people) and 29.29% (per 100,000 people), respectively. The distribution of periodontal disease among women (15-49 years) showed a continuous and rapid upward trend, with the growth rate increasing rapidly with age. The number of cases increased the fastest in the 45-49 age group, and the prevalence increased the fastest in the 35-44 age group. The incidence of periodontal disease continued to rise with age, with the fastest increase in the 35-44 age group among women of reproductive age. The Joinpoint regression model results showed that periodontal disease led to an expanding trend in the disease burden among women of reproductive age in China, with an AAPC of DALYs = 1.20% and an AAPC of DALY rate = 1.25% (P<0.001).
Conclusion
The periodontal disease burden among Chinese women aged 15-49 years showed a gradually increasing trend from 1990 to 2021.

Objective:To observe the effects of ointment and massage on inflammation, oxidative stress and angiogenesis after skeletal muscle trauma, and to explore their mechanisms.Methods:Forty-two adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into a blank group ( n=6), an ointment and massage (O&M) group ( n=18) and a model group ( n=18). The blunt contusion model of gastrocnemius malformation was established in both the O&M and model groups using self-made percussion instruments. Two hours after successful modeling, the anti-inflammatory pain-relieving cream was applied to the injured area, and massaged evenly and gently for 5 minutes. That was repeated with an interval of 12 hours. No treatment was given to the model and blank groups. On the 1st, 3rd and 7th days after modeling, injured gastrocnemius muscles were resected after collecting abdominal blood. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining and immunofluorescent (CD34) staining were applied, and serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) contents were detected. Results:HE staining showed that at each time point the gastrocnemius muscle fibers of the model group were significantly more swollen and deformed, collapsed and dissolved than those of the blank group, with a large number of inflamed cells. The O&M group had better recovery, with more newly-generated muscle cells, less inflammatory infiltration and more normal cell shapes than the model group. Fluorescence was stronger in the O&M and model groups than in the blank group at each time point, with that of the O&M group significantly stronger than in the model group. The average SOD and MDA levels in the model and O&M groups were significantly higher than in the blank group, and on the 1st and 3rd days the O&M group′s average SOD level was significantly higher than the model group′s average, though by the 7th day there was no significant difference. The average MDA content of the O&M group was significantly lower than the model group′s average at each time point. Conclusion:Ointment and massage can effectively reduce the local inflammatory response and oxidative stress after a skeletal muscle injury. They can accelerate local angiogenesis, promoting the repair of damaged tissues.

Objective:To explore whether lung microorganisms influence the occurrence and development of early lung adenocarcinoma by analyzing the presence and changes of local microorganisms in early lung adenocarcinoma. Methods:Tumor tissues and alveolar lavage fluid were collected from 32 patients diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital. Nextseq550DX was used for DNA sequencing. R language was used to calculate the number of microorganisms in the tumor tissue and alveolar lavage fluid samples of different stages and grades. species and diversity, and use statistical methods such as TSEA and LEfSe analysis to compare the diversity and differences of microorganisms in different groups. Results:Both Actinobacteria and Proteobacteria accounted for a higher proportion in both the tumor tissue and alveolar lavage fluid samples of patients with lung adenocarcinoma. The number of microorganisms detected in the tumor tissue was greater than that in the lavage fluid, and the alpha diversity was higher, but the difference Not significant( P<0. 05). According to the analysis of differences in lung microorganisms in patients with different pathological grades: In the two samples, invasive adenocarcinoma has more microorganisms than carcinoma in situ + microinvasive carcinoma, and the alpha diversity of the lavage fluid is significantly higher, and the comparison between the groups is statistically significant( P=0. 011); the difference in β diversity was not statistically significant( P>0. 05). Group analysis based on different pathological types: the invasive adenocarcinoma group samples showed a decrease in Proteobacteria, the carcinoma in situ + minimally invasive cancer group was mainly composed of Proteobacteria, and most of the microorganisms related to lung cancer differences analyzed in each group belonged to Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria. Phylum. Conclusion:Most of the microbes in tumor tissues and lavage fluid of lung adenocarcinoma belong to the Actinobacteria and Proteobacteria. Most of the differentially associated microbes of lung cancer under different classifications also belong to Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria, which are the main characteristics of lung microbial composition in patients with early-stage lung adenocarcinoma.

BACKGROUND:Based on different algorithms of machine learning, how to carry out clinical research on lumbar disc herniation with the help of various algorithmic models has become a trend and hot spot in the development of intelligent medicine at present. OBJECTIVE:To review the characteristics of different algorithmic models of machine learning in the diagnosis and treatment of lumbar disc herniation, and summarize the respective advantages and application strategies of algorithmic models for the same purpose. METHODS:The computer searched PubMed,Web of Science,EMBASE,CNKI,WanFang,VIP and China Biomedical(CBM)databases to extract the relevant articles on machine learning in the diagnosis and treatment of lumbar disc herniation.Finally,96 articles were included for analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Different algorithm models of machine learning provide intelligent and accurate application strategies for clinical diagnosis and treatment of lumbar disc herniation.(2)Traditional statistical methods and decision trees in supervised learning are simple and efficient in exploring risk factors and establishing diagnostic and prognostic models.Support vector machine is suitable for small data sets with high-dimensional features. As a nonlinear classifier,it can be applied to the recognition, segmentation and classification of normal or degenerative intervertebral discs, and to establish diagnostic and prognostic models.Ensemble learning can make up for the shortcomings of a single model. It has the ability to deal with high-dimensional data and improve the precision and accuracy of clinical prediction models.Artificial neural network improves the learning ability of the model, and can be applied to intervertebral disc recognition, classification and making clinical prediction models. On the basis of the above uses, deep learning can also optimize images and assist surgical operations. It is the most widely used model with the best performance in the diagnosis and treatment of lumbar disc herniation. The clustering algorithm in unsupervised learning is mainly used for disc segmentation and classification of different herniated segments. However, the clinical application of semi-supervised learning is relatively less.(3)At present, machine learning has certain clinical advantages in the identification and segmentation of lumbar intervertebral discs, classification and grading of the degenerative intervertebral discs, automatic clinical diagnosis and classification, construction of the clinical predictive model and auxiliary operation.(4)In recent years, the research strategy of machine learning has changed to the neural network and deep learning, and the deep learning algorithm with stronger learning ability will be the key to realizing intelligent medical treatment in the future.

Background 137Cs in atmospheric aerosol is the product of past nuclear weapon tests and nuclear accidents. When 137Cs is released into the atmosphere, it will deposit in dry land and marine environment, causing pollution of soil surface, water, agricultural products, and animal byproducts, and affecting public health. Objective To identify the variation pattern of 137Cs activity concentration in aerosol and its correlation with dust concentration in Beijing area from 2017 to 2020. Methods A total of 958 aerosol samples were collected from November 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020 in Beijing with a high volume air sampler at a sampling flow rate about 600 m3·h−1 and a collection time for each sample about 24 h. The activity concentration of 137Cs in the aerosol samples was determined with a low-background high-purity germanium γ spectrometer. The dust concentration was calculated using the difference in the mass of the aerosol filter before and after sampling. The detection rate of 137Cs and dust concentration in different seasons were compared. Spearman rank correlation test was used to analyze the correlation between 137Cs activity concentration and dust concentration. Results From 2017 to 2020, the 137Cs activity concentrations of 33 from 958 aerosol samples in Beijing were above the minimum detectable activityconcentration, the overall detection rate of 137Cs was 3.4%, and the activity concentration ranged from 1.86 to 45.53 μBq·m−3, with a median value of 4.85 μBq·m−3. The detection rate of 137Cs was highest in spring, followed by autumn, and lowest in winter and summer (8.4%, 3.0%, 1.1%, and 0.5%, respectively). The dust concentration ranged from 0.03 to 1.55 mg·m−3, with an average value of 0.18 mg·m−3. There was a statistically significant difference in the dust concentrations in spring, summer, autumn, and winter (F=45.51, P<0.05), and the highest value was 0.24 mg·m−3 in spring (P<0.05). The 137Cs activity concentration was positively correlated with the dust concentration (P<0.05). Conclusion The 137Cs activity concentration in aerosol in Beijing from 2017 to 2020 fluctuates within the range of background level, and its activity concentration is highest in spring, followed autumn, and lowest in summer and winter.

Objective To explore the guiding significance of preoperative 3D reconstruction for pulmonary nodule location and thoracoscopic surgical method selection in lung cancer patients. Methods The clinical data of the patients with preoperative 3D reconstruction in our China-Japan Friendship Hospital between January and November 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. Preoperative surgical planning was performed using 3D reconstruction. Different surgical procedure, including wedge resection, segmentectomy, lobectomy, or combined surgical procedure were performed based on tumor location, size and distance from the pleura. Results A total of 115 patients were included with 45 males and 70 females, at an average age of 25-84 (58.29±11.36) years and successfully completed the operation. Fifty-five (47.8%) patients' nodule diameter was tangent cross-section, among whom twenty-five (21.7%) patients of nodules crossed sections. There were 21 patients of wedge resection in the outer 1/3 nodules of CT, which had shorter operation time and less cost (P<0.001) and less intraoperative bleeding (P=0.019). For the crossing sections or edge crossing sections nodules of the middle and inner of CT, 6 patients were of simple pulmonary segmentectomy, 8 patients of combined with sub-segmentectomy, 7 patients of combined segmentectomy, 5 patients of lobectomy, and 3 patients of wedge resection. Conclusion The proportion of cross-segment pulmonary nodules is relatively high. For the outer 1/3 nodules of CT, compared with pulmonary segmental resection combined with adjacent lung tissue resection, wedge resection can also ensure sufficient surgical margin, and the middle and inner 1/3 nodules of CT need to be combined with adjacent pulmonary tissue resection to ensure the surgical edge.
