Childhood simple obesity has become a significant public health issue in China. Modern medicine primarily relies on lifestyle interventions and often suffers from poor long-term compliance， while pharmacological options are limited and associated with potential adverse effects. Traditional Chinese Medicine （TCM） has a long history in the prevention and management of this condition， demonstrating eight distinct advantages， including systematic theoretical foundation， diversified therapeutic approaches， definite therapeutic efficacy， high safety profile， good patient compliance， comprehensive intervention strategies， emphasis on prevention， and stepwise treatment protocols. Additionally， TCM is characterized by six distinctive features： the use of natural medicinal substances， non-invasive external therapies， integration of medicinal dietetics， simple exercise regimens， precise syndrome differentiation， and diverse dosage forms. By combining internal and external treatments， TCM facilitates individualized regimen adjustment and holistic regulation， demonstrating remarkable effects in improving obesity-related metabolic indicators， regulating constitutional imbalance， and promoting healthy behaviors. However， challenges remain， such as inconsistent operational standards， insufficient high-quality clinical evidence， and a gap between basic research and clinical application. Future efforts should focus on accelerating the standardization of TCM diagnosis and treatment， conducting multicenter randomized controlled trials， and fostering interdisciplinary integration， so as to enhance the scientific validity and international recognition of TCM in the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity.

BackgroundAdverse childhood experiences （ACEs） are strong predictors of psychopathology across the lifespan， exerting extensive adverse effects on physical and mental health during early development. While ACEs increase the risk of childhood psychopathology， sleep quality and impair cognitive function， the early neurobiological mechanisms mediating ACE-induced cognitive impairment remain unclear. ObjectiveTo explore the association between ACEs exposure and the risk of psychopathology， sleep disorders， and cognitive function， and to examine the mediating role of the putamen volume in the relationship between ACEs and cognitive function from a neurodevelopment perspective. MethodsData were obtained from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development （ABCD） study， comprising 10 572 children aged 9 to 10. Participants were categorized into five groups based on the cumulative score of ACEs reported by their parents and the children themselves： no-exposure group （0 types of ACEs）， the one-exposure group， the two-exposure group， the three-exposure group， and the high-risk exposure group （≥ 4 types of ACEs）. Logistic regression analysis was employed to evaluate the association between ACEs and psychopathological symptoms ［T score of the Child Behavior Checklist （CBCL） ≥ 65］. Multiple linear regression analysis was ultilized to analyze the correlations between ACEs and the scores of the Sleep Disturbance Scale for Children （SDSC）， the NIH Toolbox Cognition Battery （NIHTB-CB）， as well as the multiple structures in the cerebral cortex and subcortex. The Bootstrap method was applied to test the mediating effect of the putamen volume between ACEs and neurocognitive function. ResultsAfter adjusting for confounders， ACEs cumulative score was correlated with children's psychopathological symptoms in a dose-response manner. Compared with the no-exposed group， the high-risk exposure group had a 2.08-fold （OR=2.080， 95% CI： 1.401–3.088） increased risk of internalizing problems and a 3.13-fold （OR=3.132， 95% CI： 1.703–5.760） increased risk of externalizing problems， and the risk of conduct problems was 4.68 times that of the no-exposed group （OR=4.681， 95% CI： 2.528–8.669）. ACEs cumulative score positively predicted the total score of SDSC （β=0.080， 95% CI： 0.059–0.102）， with relatively stronger predictive effects on sleep-wake transition disorder （β=0.086， 95% CI： 0.063–0.109） and sleep onset and maintenance disorder （β=0.066， 95% CI： 0.043–0.089）. In terms of neurocognition and brain structure， ACEs cumulative score negatively predicted the overall cognitive composite score （β=-0.025， 95% CI： -0.050–-0.001）， the crystallized cognitive composite score （β=-0.035， 95% CI： -0.060–-0.010）， the volume of the left putamen nucleus （β=-0.025， 95% CI： -0.046– 0.003）， and the volume of the right putamen nucleus （β=-0.023， 95% CI： -0.044– 0.003）. The total putamen volume played a partial mediating role between ACEs and the overall cognitive composite score， the effect value was -0.002 （95% CI： -0.004–-0.001）， accounting for 7.49% of the total effect. ConclusionACEs exposure may increase the risk of psychopathological and sleep disturbances in children and may impair neurocognitive function. With the widespread adoption of low-dose CT screening and the extensive application of high-resolution CT, the detection rate of sub-centimeter lung nodules has significantly increased. How to scientifically manage these nodules while avoiding overtreatment and diagnostic delays has become an important clinical issue. Among them, lung nodules with a consolidation tumor ratio less than 0.25, dominated by ground-glass shadows, are particularly worthy of attention. The therapeutic challenge for this group is how to achieve precise and complete resection of nodules during surgery while maximizing the preservation of the patient's lung function. The "watershed topography map" is a new technology based on big data and artificial intelligence algorithms. This method uses Dicom data from conventional dose CT scans, combined with microscopic (22-24 levels) capillary network anatomical watershed features, to generate high-precision simulated natural segmentation planes of lung sub-segments through specific textures and forms. This technology forms fluorescent watershed boundaries on the lung surface, which highly fit the actual lung anatomical structure. By analyzing the adjacent relationship between the nodule and the watershed boundary, real-time, visually accurate positioning of the nodule can be achieved. This innovative technology provides a new solution for the intraoperative positioning and resection of lung nodules. This consensus was led by four major domestic societies, jointly with expert teams in related fields, oriented to clinical practical needs, referring to domestic and foreign guidelines and consensus, and finally formed after multiple rounds of consultation, discussion, and voting. The main content covers the theoretical basis of the "watershed topography map" technology, indications, operation procedures, surgical planning details, and postoperative evaluation standards, aiming to provide scientific guidance and exploration directions for clinical peers who are currently or plan to carry out lung nodule resection using the fluorescent microscope watershed analysis method.

Objective: To explore the therapeutic effects of different surgical methods for temporomandibular joint disc reduction and anchoring surgery, providing reference for optimizing this surgical procedure. Method: The study was approved by the hospital ethics committee. 173 patients (195 joints) who underwent temporomandibular joint disc repositioning and anchoring surgery were selected for retrospective analysis. Patients were categorized into groups A (traditional preauricular incision-scalpel/tissue scissors anterior attachment release), 35 patients (40 joints), B (traditional preauricular incision-plasma bipolar radiofrequency electrode anterior attachment release), 42 patients (46 joints), C (revised tragus incision - scalpel/tissue scissors anterior attachment release), 50 patients (58 joints), and D (revised tragus incision-plasma bipolar radiofrequency electrode anterior attachment release), 46 patients (51 joints). After a 6-month postoperative follow-up, the differences in maximum mouth opening (MMO), visual analogue scale (VAS), effective rate of joint disc reduction, incidence of preauricular numbness, obvious scars among patients in each group at 1, 3, and 6 months were compared postoperatively. Results: After surgery, the MMO of all four groups of patients initially shrunk and then gradually increased compared to before surgery. At the 1-month follow-up after surgery, the plasma bipolar radiofrequency release (B+D) group had a smaller impact on the patient’s MMO compared to the surgical knife/tissue scissors release (A+C) group (P < 0.05). Postoperative VAS scores for all four groups showed a gradual decrease from pre-operative levels, with the (B+D) group scoring significantly lower in the first month post-surgery compared to the (A+C) group (P < 0.05). Six months post-surgery, the rate of joint disc reduction of the four groups were higher than 95%, with no significant differences observed between the groups (P > 0.05). Patients in the revised tragus incision (C+D) group experienced a lower rate of preauricular numbness compared to those in the traditional preauricular incision (A+B) group (4.59% vs. 12.79%, P < 0.05), The incidence of obvious scars in the (C+D) group was significantly lower than that in the (A+B) group (3.67% vs. 23.26%, P < 0.05). Conclusion The revised tragus incision is superior to traditional preauricular incision in terms of protecting the auriculotemporal nerve and the scars were more inconspicuous. Further, the plasma bipolar radiofrequency electrode is superior to the scalpel/tissue scissors in terms of mouth opening recovery and pain control. For temporomandibular joint disc reduction and anchoring surgery, a modified tragus incision combined with plasma bipolar radiofrequency electrode to release the anterior attachment of the joint disc can be recommended as a surgical option.

Objective To investigate the factors affecting the distribution of Pomacea and project the trends in the spread of suitable distribution areas of Pomacea in 2050 and 2070 in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, so as to provide insights into Pomacea control in the prefecture. Methods The longitudes and latitudes of Pomacea sampling sites were captured based on Pomacea field survey data in 12 cities (counties) of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture from 2023 to 2024. A total of 19 climatic factors (annual mean temperature, mean diurnal range, isothermality, temperature seasonality, maximum temperature of the warmest month, minimum temperature of the coldest month, temperature annual range, mean temperature of the wettest quarter, mean temperature of the driest quarter, mean temperature of the warmest month, mean temperature of the coldest month, annual precipitation, precipitation of the wettest month, precipitation of the driest month, precipitation seasonality, precipitation of the wettest quarter, precipitation of the driest quarter, mean temperature of the warmest quarter, and mean temperature of the coldest quarter) and representative concentration pathways (RCPs) were retrieved from the world climate database (www.worldclim.org). All climatic variables were employed to create a maximum entropy (MaxEnt) model. The predictive accuracy of the model was assessed with the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC), and the contributions of these 19 climatic factors to the distribution of Pomacea were analyzed in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture using Jackknife test. In addition, the suitable distribution areas of Pomacea were predicted with the MaxEnt model in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture in 2024 and in 2050 and 2070 under RCP4.5. Results Data pertaining to 91 Pomacea sampling sites were captured. ROC analysis revealed the MaxEnt model had an AUC value of 0.885 ± 0.088 for predicting the suitable distribution areas of Pomacea in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture. Of the 19 climatic factors, the maximum temperature of the warmest month had the highest contribution to the distribution of Pomacea in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, followed by mean temperature of the driest quarter, mean temperature of the wettest quarter and minimum temperature of the coldest month. The suitable distribution area of Pomacea was predicted to be 14 555.69 km² in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture in 2024, and would expand gradually to the southeastern part of the prefecture in the future due to climatic factors. The suitable distribution areas of Pomacea were projected to expand to 21 475.61 km² in 2050 and 25 782.52 km² in 2070 in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, respectively. Conclusions Temperature is an important contributor to the distribution of Pomacea in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, and the suitable distribution area of Pomacea will gradually expand to the southeastern part of the prefecture in 2050 and 2070.

Objective: To investigate the distribution characteristics of CD36 antigen in healthy individuals in Xinjiang, China and analyze the molecular mechanisms underlying CD36 deficiency. Methods: Flow cytometry was used to assess CD36 antigen expression on platelets from 881 healthy individuals who underwent physical examinations between June and August 2023. Differences in CD36 antigen distribution among ethnic groups were compared, and genotyping and third-generation sequencing were conducted on samples with CD36 deficiency. Results: Among the 881 samples, 4 cases (0.5%) of CD36 type Ⅱ deficiency were identified. The deficiency frequency was 0.7% (3/430) in Han individuals and 0.3% (1/363) in Uygur individuals, with no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). No mutations were detected in the coding regions of the deficient samples. Two samples exhibited a (TG)11 in intron 3. Among the 12 linked mutation sites, g. 55589 G>A was mutated to g. 55589G Del, while g. 55593 A del did not occur; however, g. 55591A>T was observed nearby. Additionally, 52742insGAAAA was present in 100% of the (TG)11 haplotypes, potentially representing a novel linked mutation. Conclusion: This study indicates that the positive frequency of CD36 antigen in Xinjiang is relatively high, suggesting a low risk of alloimmune diseases in clinical practice. The (TG)11 in intron 3 is not universally present in all CD36 type Ⅱ deficiency cases, and the number of linked mutation sites extends beyond the previously reported 12.

BACKGROUND:How to effectively promote bone regeneration and bone reconstruction after bone injury has always been a key issue in clinical bone repair research.The use of biological and degradable materials loaded with bioactive factors to treat bone defects has excellent application prospects in bone repair. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of polylactic acid-glycolic acid copolymer(PLGA)composite scaffold modified by lysine-grafted graphene oxide nanoparticles(LGA-g-GO)on osteogenic differentiation and new bone formation. METHODS:PLGA was dissolved in dichloromethane and PLGA scaffold was prepared by solvent evaporation method.PLGA/GO composite scaffolds were prepared by dispersing graphene oxide uniformly in PLGA solution.LGA-g-GO nanoparticles were prepared by chemical grafting method,and the PLGA/LGA-g-GO composite scaffolds were constructed by blending LGA-g-GO nanoparticles at different mass ratios(1%,2%,and 3%)with PLGA.The micromorphology,hydrophilicity,and protein adsorption capacity of scaffolds of five groups were characterized.MC3T3 cells were inoculated on the surface of scaffolds of five groups to detect cell proliferation and osteogenic differentiation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)The surface of PLGA scaffolds was smooth and flat under scanning electron microscope,while the surface of the other four scaffolds was rough.The surface roughness of the composite scaffolds increased with the increase of the addition of LGA-g-GO nanoparticles.The water contact angle of PLGA/LGA-g-GO(3%)composite scaffolds was lower than that of the other four groups(P<0.05).The protein adsorption capacity of PLGA/LGA-g-GO(1%,2%,and 3%)composite scaffolds was stronger than PLGA and PLGA/GO scaffolds(P<0.05).(2)CCK-8 assay showed that PLGA/LGA-g-GO(2%,3%)composite scaffold could promote the proliferation of MC3T3 cells.Alkaline phosphatase staining and alizarin red staining showed that the cell alkaline phosphatase activity in PLGA/LGA-g-GO(2%,3%)group was higher than that in the other three groups(P<0.05).The calcium deposition in the PLGA/GO and PLGA/LGA-g-GO(1%,2%,and 3%)groups was higher than that in the PLGA group(P<0.05).(3)In summary,PLGA/LGA-g-GO composite scaffold can promote the proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of osteoblasts,and is conducive to bone regeneration and bone reconstruction after bone injury.

Objective To analyze the elevated blood pressure status and its influencing factors among manufacturing workers in Foshan City. Methods A total of 565 795 manufacturing workers who underwent occupational medical examinations in Foshan City from 2017 to 2023 were included. Data of workers were obtained from the Guangdong Provincial Key Occupational Disease Monitoring and Management Platform. The influencing factors of elevated blood pressure were analyzed using descriptive epidemiological methods. Results A total of 89 526 cases of elevated blood pressure were detected among the 565 795 workers, with a detection rate of 15.82%. From 2017 to 2023, the annual detection rate of elevated blood pressure was 14.11%, 15.00%, 14.69%, 15.94%, 17.00%, 16.90%, and 16.68%, respectively, showing an overall upward trend (P<0.01). The top three industries with the highest detection rates of elevated blood pressure were instrument and meter manufacturing; wood processing and the manufacture of wood, bamboo, rattan, palm, and straw products; as well as agricultural and sideline food processing. Binary logistic regression analysis showed that male workers had a higher risk of elevated blood pressure than female workers (P<0.01). The risk of elevated blood pressure in workers increased with age, years of occupational hazard exposure, and duration of dust exposure (all P<0.05). Workers exposed to noise for more than three years had a higher risk of elevated blood pressure than those without noise exposure (P<0.05). The risk of elevated blood pressure among workers in Nanhai, Shunde, and Gaoming districts was higher than that in Chancheng District (all P<0.01). Workers originating from Northeast and Northwest China had a higher risk of elevated blood pressure than those from North China (all P<0.05). Workers from smaller-scale enterprises had higher risk of elevated blood pressure (all P<0.01). Conclusion Targeted blood pressure health interventions in Foshan City should be strengthened for male manufacturing workers who are older, have longer working years, and originate from Northeast and Northwest China. The development of exemplary health enterprises should be promoted, particularly among micro- and small-sized enterprises and key industries. Enhanced occupational health management is especially needed for positions with high intensity noise exposure and high concentration dust exposure.

Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)serves as a treasure trove of ancient knowledge,holding a crucial position in the medical field.However,the exploration of TCM's extensive information has been hindered by challenges related to data standardization,completeness,and accuracy,primarily due to the decen-tralized distribution of TCM resources.To address these issues,we developed a platform for TCM knowledge discovery(TCMKD,https://cbcb.cdutcm.edu.cn/TCMKD/).Seven types of data,including syndromes,formulas,Chinese patent drugs(CPDs),Chinese medicinal materials(CMMs),ingredients,targets,and diseases,were manually proofread and consolidated within TCMKD.To strengthen the integration of TCM with modern medicine,TCMKD employs analytical methods such as TCM data mining,enrichment analysis,and network localization and separation.These tools help elucidate the molecular-level commonalities between TCM and contemporary scientific insights.In addition to its analytical capabilities,a quick question and answer(Q&A)system is also embedded within TCMKD to query the database efficiently,thereby improving the interactivity of the platform.The platform also provides a TCM text annotation tool,offering a simple and efficient method for TCM text mining.Overall,TCMKD not only has the potential to become a pivotal repository for TCM,delving into the pharmaco-logical foundations of TCM treatments,but its flexible embedded tools and algorithms can also be applied to the study of other traditional medical systems,extending beyond just TCM.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the X-chromosome inactivation (XCI) patterns and origin in four children with Rett syndrome (RTT), and to explore the genetic basis of their phenotypic variability. METHODS: Four pediatric RTT cases diagnosed at Northwest Women's and Children's Hospital between August 1, 2022 and October 31, 2024 were enrolled. Clinical data were collected, and whole exome sequencing (WES) and Sanger sequencing were performed on the children and their parents to identify pathogenic variants. XCI analysis and linkage studies were conducted to determine the origin of variants and assess skewed XCI. This study was approved by the Medical Ethics Committee of the Northwest Women's and Children's Hospital (Ethics No. 21-036). RESULTS: WES and Sanger sequencing revealed that the four children carried the following MECP2 (NM_001110792.2) variants. c.916C>T (p.Arg306Cys), c.842delG (p.G281Afs*20), c.763C>T (p.R255X), and c.686C>T (p.Pro229Leu). The c.916C>T variant was maternally inherited, while the other three were de novo. All four variants have been previously reported: c.916C>T, c.842delG, and c.763C>T were classified as pathogenic, whereas c.686C>T was deemed likely pathogenic. XCI analysis demonstrated skewed inactivation in child 2 and 3 and their mothers, with maternal X-chromosome recombination during gametogenesis observed in child 3. All variants were located on the maternal X chromosome. CONCLUSION Skewed XCI is a common pathogenic mechanism in MECP2-related RTT, and MECP2 variants may exhibit a maternal origin bias. Clinical evaluation should incorporate XCI status for comprehensive genetic analysis.
